Life with a new baby had been a very interesting learning experience for Tyler, especially navigating fatherhood during his busy baseball schedule. It had been challenging for sure, but he had an incredible wife at home who managed to help him navigate fatherhood and his career and handle her own business all at once. He didn’t know what he would do without you in his life.
Ever since you and Tyler had welcomed little Eleanor (Ellie) Paige Glasnow her and Tyler had been inseparable. She loved her dad so much and when he wasn’t there to rock her to sleep at night because he was on an away game, lord it was hell trying to get her to close those gorgeous blue eyes. But somehow a little facetime and a quiet little lullaby from her dad always managed to put her right out. “Thank you.” you whisper quietly exhausted, into the phone. Tyler couldn’t help but notice the tiredness in your eyes and he couldn’t wait to be home on the all-star week break and just spoil you and his sweet little princess. “I'm sorry you have to do this all on your own.” Tyler whispers into the phone. “It’s okay Ty.” you say quietly. “I understood this role when I married you and I know you love us and you take care of us as much as you can, I hope you never think that I don’t know how much you sacrifice for us baby.”  you say with a smile. There was no other man on this planet you would rather parent this beautiful little one with than him.  “I know it gets hard for you to leave us when your on the road but there’s never a minute that goes by that i'm not telling our sweet little one stories about you and about us, and showing her you on TV when we can’t be with you, you know she loves you so much clearly more than me just by the way you can get her to sleep.” you smile because Tyler laughs.
Ellie had always been his little girl from the moment she was born. “I know you got this, I just hate missing out on little moments. I never realized how difficult it was going to be to be away from the two of you.” he says. “Well the all-star break is coming up soon, I promise to let you change all the diapers, and wake up at 2 am when she’s screaming and feed her, and rock her to sleep for 2 hours because everytime you go to put her down she starts to scream. That’s all yours next week handsome.” you smile. “Challenge accepted.” he smirks. “Uh huh we’ll see about that.” you chuckle. “God I love you so much.” he says. “I love you too, Tyler.” There was silence between you for a few minutes as you both just looked at each other.
“Aren’t you pitching tomorrow?” you ask him. He wiggles around in bed. “Yeah.” he whispers. “Shouldn’t you be going to bed then, mister?” you ask playfully. He smirks. “Yeah I suppose I should. Can I see her one more time?” he asks. You smile. “Of course.” you get up and walk over to the crib where Ellie was sleeping peacefully and turn the camera towards your sleeping baby girl. Tyler smirks. “Thanks baby.” he says. “No problem my love.” you say with a sigh. “Good luck tomorrow.” you whisper. Tyler smiles. “One day closer to getting home to you.” he says. “I love you.” you whisper. He smiles. “I love you too.” he blows you a kiss and you do the same before saying your goodnights once more and ending the face time.
You turn on the night light in Ellie’s room and head to your own bed. Taking a quick shower, throwing on one of Tyler’s shirts and sliding under the covers of your king sized bed, which felt so empty without his 6ft8 frame beside you. One more day. You say to yourself as you drift restlessly to sleep, just waiting for the sound of your little one's cries.
You woke up to playful giggles. You roll over to look at the baby monitor to see Eleanor playing quietly with the stuffed stingray Tyler had gotten her at the stadium; which she never left home without. You smile. What a cutie. You got out of bed. Seeing a text from Tyler. “Good morning beautiful, kiss my little princess for me.. I love you both to pieces.” you smile. He’s such a babe. You text him back quickly before going to retrieve your baby girl from her crib.
You kiss her gently. “That’s from daddy.” you whisper. Pulling her from her crib to change her. You dressed her in her Tampa Bay Onesie and you got dressed in your Glasnow jersey and cute shorts. Snapping a pic of the two of you and sending it to tyler. “Good Luck Today Daddy, we love you.” you caption it. You knew he’d be at the field by now preparing but he’d get it before the game which would hopefully make him smile. You got some chores done and ran some errands before coming home to settle down in front of the TV with your baby girl and max your dog.
You turned on the TV and they were doing an interview with Tyler. Ellie’s little face lit up immediately. “Dada!” she giggled. Omg of course she would say his name first. You grab your phone to get a video of her because you knew he would be upset if he missed this milestone moment. “Dada dada dada.” she cooed as she watched as he talked about pitching and his baby girl. “Looks like you win. First words from your number one fan.” you write sending him the cute little video. You’d wait to post it on social media until he saw it. Throughout the whole game Ellie continued to call out his name every time she saw him on the mound. “Yes baby girl that’s dada.” you chuckle every time the words come out of her cute little mouth. Tyler would end up pitching 7 no hit innings before they took him out, which you knew would make him mad but it was the end of the boston series; which meant he was coming home which would take the sting off a little bit. They did win; which would also help.
About an hour later your face time was ringing, Tyler's cute face popping up. “Hello handsome.” you say answering. “Hey babe.” he smiles as soon as he sees Ellie on your lap. “Hey princess.” he coos. “Dada dada dada!” she giggles. And Tyler lights up. “Oh my goodness, I can’t believe she said it. That video you sent me of her watching my interview melted my heart after the game. My teammates were all crowded around watching it too” he says with a smile. You were pretty sure Tyler would never get tired of showing off his baby girl; which always made your heart melt.
“I'm on the next plane home to you girls tonight.” he says with a smile. “Baby we can’t wait for you to be home.” you say with a sigh. You missed him terribly and you were honestly just ready for him to be home, it seemed like he had been on this road trip for weeks. “I miss you, see you soon.” he says. You notice he’s already at the airport and on the way home. You smile. He just couldn’t wait to have you back in his arms. “Can’t wait to see you either babe, safe travels, I love you.” you say. He smiles. “I love you too baby. See you soon princess.” he says, giving a little wave to Ellie. “Dada.” she giggles. He blows you both a kiss and says goodbye. “Luv you.” you say again as you both hang up.
“Dada.” Ellie begins to cry. “Don’t worry, sunshine, he's on his way home to us.” you say bouncing her up and down trying to calm her. You knew he would be in late so you had dinner, gave Ellie a bath and put her to bed. Surprisingly she went down easily leaving you to the silence of your large living room. You grab a glass of wine and stretch out onto the couch with max and watch some crappy Tv. You tried to stay up until Tyler got home but you just couldn’t.
He walked in and the room was dark except for the tv that was still on. He smiled as he walked into the living room and found you and Max asleep on the couch together. He kissed your forehead. “I'm home my love.” he whispers. A little groan leaves your lips. “Ty?” you question waking up slowly. “Yeah baby it’s me.” he chuckles. You sit up and Max jumps off your lap and licks Tyler's face. “Hey buddy, mama first.” he jokes. He pulls you into his arms. “God I missed you.” you whisper into his shoulder as he holds you tight. “I missed you too, baby.” he says, kissing your lips a little desperate and needy.. You laugh. “Easy there.” you joke. He blushes.
You sit up talking about the road trip and Ellie and anything he missed and the funny stuff that happened to him or the team while he was gone. He yawns. You smile. “Come on, you’ve had a long day.” you say pulling on his arm. “Any chance I get a glimpse of what’s under that jersey tonight??” he smirks smacking your ass. “Tyler Allen.” you giggle as he scoops you up and carries you up the stairs. You stop briefly to check on Eleanor before he carries you off to bed. It takes his long fingers only seconds to undo the buttons of your jersey and shorts. His lips are only our neck and your sliding back on your large bed, giving him space for his large body to be above yours. He’s kissing down your body and you're lost in his touch and his lips on your skin. You melt into him. Calling out his name as he slides into you. Wrapping your legs around him pushing him deeper, desperate for the feeling of him deep inside of you. You craved this connection between his body and yours as you moved effortlessly together, arching your hips in perfect sync with his. Sweet little moans, and scratches down his back. Hickies peppering your neck and chest as his need to make up for lost time consumes him. “Fuck I love you.” he groans as your hips tighten around him and you call out his name, the look for pure passion and ecstasy on your face as you feel him fill you completely. “Mmmm god i missed you.” he groans, kissing your lips wildly before he pulls out and lays beside you pulling you into his arms as you both catch your breath.
You smirk. “I missed you too.” you say running your hand across his cheek. “So much.” you whisper into his lips. The two of you fell asleep soon after, both tired. The sun was beginning to shine through the big window in your bedroom when you woke up, naked tangled in your sheets but not Tyler’s body. Hmmm. you think to yourself. Where had your hubby gotten too? You look over at the baby monitor and Ellie is not in her crib but you hear talking and you knew Ty was in her room. You look at the clock, 5 am. Oh ellie.
You hear Tyler talking to her and you can’t help but smile as you listen to him telling her all about his road trip and about his teammates and how he can’t wait to take her to ballpark someday and how much he loved her mama and how she was the luckiest little girl in the whole wide world because she had such a strong mama who loved them both so much. You smile as you grab Tyler's shirt off the floor and slide it over your head and head to Ellie’s room.
“Talking about me in here?.” you whisper as you walk in, seeing Tyler in the rocking chair with Ellie fast asleep on his bare chest. You swoon.  Now that was a sight that made you ready to jump right back into bed with him and work on baby number two. You bite your lip. “I didn’t want to put her down, so I just decided to talk to her about my trip and of course about you.” he blushes as he stands up, placing her down in her crib gently, she barely moved. Tyler wrapped his arm around you as you both looked down at your precious little daughter. “ I'm such a lucky man.” he whispers in your ear as he kisses your cheek.
“I think we both got lucky.” you whisper back smiling at him. “Come on, let's let her sleep a little longer.” you say.  Tyler Smiles down at his sweet little princess then takes your hand and follows you out of the room. You take a quick shower together, getting dressed and starting breakfast before getting your little one up. The three of you spend the day making up for lost time. Ellie chasing Tyler around, screaming Dada in a fit of giggles all morning.
Tyler’s all-star break was spent doing exactly as he said he would. He and Ellie were inseparable as always and he even sent you to the spa for the day while he handled everything at home. He really was the most perfect husband and father you could ever ask for. As the week came to an end and you knew baseball was coming back into full swing you knew you were exactly where you were meant to be. Tomorrow you would take Elliebear to her first Rays home game and you weren’t sure who was more excited; her or Tyler who was dying to show the world his perfect little princess.
The end.
