The Best of Summer in Maine Maine comes alive in the summer, offering natural beauty, outdoor adventures, and small-town charm. From the coast to the mountains, there are many wonderful places to explore during the warmer months. Here are some of the best spots to visit in Maine this summer. Acadia National Park Maine’s only national park is one of the top destinations, with stunning scenery and activities for everyone. Found out there is a town called Mooselookmeguntic in the state of Maine. It's one of (only one of?) the longest town names in the U.S. I really hope there's moose there. That will have to be a stop on my road trip if I ever get to visit Prince Edward Island.

Height of Land is a viewpoint off of Route 17 in the Rangeley Lakes Region of Maine. You're looking went into New Hampshire from here, with Mooselookmeguntic Lake in the foreground below, and the White Mountains in the distance. The view here is nothing less than spectacular. In the spring and summer, the view here is what you see. Lots of greens and wildflowers on the hills. In the fall, the foliage comes alive and the landscape is colored red, yellow, and orange. It's the perfect spot to pull over, catch your breath, and just... be.
