one of my favorite pieces of wei wuxian so far!!! it's inspired by @samsin_37's dance (which is absolutely beautiful and everyone should watch it)

Wangxian as the guqin player and fisherman from "Flowing Water," a guqin piece that dates back to China's Spring Autumn Period.

The piece describes a close friendship and conversation between the two, with each of their personalities and skills juxtaposing the other (serene, musical guqin player v. the rough and free-spirited woodcutter). The composition itself draws more on the process of flowing water, the notes describing the stream of river down mountainsides.

wei wuxian in spring autumn period garb!

there are theories out there talking about when mdzs was hypothetically set, and while mxtx had no intention on setting the story in a specific era, people have made connections with the wen's battle, yiling's location in relation to the yangtze river, and gusu's naming to conclude that mdzs likely took place during the 6 dynasties, in particular the soring autumn period. because of that i wanted to design wwx in that period's noble dress; during this time, ethnic jewlery and stripped/geometric patterns were popular among the elite, along with this curved pattern for the robe (quju dress).
