hi moon!!<33 i LOVE roller skating but it's been years since i last did it :(

when i was little i used to roller skate a lot and i was even in like a roller skating class which i LOVED. what are YOUR thoughts on roller skating?

Our whole group came away for a breather and moon boy was left alone so I went back to fetch him and he was at the verge of being accosted by body shaming girl(aaj bhi uske saath passive aggressive jhagda kar Diya Maine, baad mein tea spill karungi) and I came back out kyuki vo negativity merese sehen nhi hoti.

Tho, moon boy looked worn out and tired too, so I'm torn between resucing him and having my own peace. Obviously I chose my own peace but guilt ho rha

Word Count: 567

You can’t help but smile as you glance over at Jake. You’re in the middle of speaking with your friend, whose home you’re currently in. She had invited you to a small barbeque, which had turned into an impromptu dinner party when the heavens had opened. 

There were only seven of you in total, so it wasn’t too overcrowded. 

While everyone else were seated on, or around the large armchair and settee in the living room, Jake was the exception. 

He was laying on his side, his hand outstretched under the bookcase, slowly coaxing your friend’s new kitten out of hiding. 

There was the largest, softest smile plastered over his face as the cat slowly inches forward and sniffed his fingers. 

He had been carefully befriending the kitten over the last forty minutes, taking it as a personal mission the second your friend mentioned she had a new kitten that was painfully shy around new people. 

She was a small thing, the runt of the litter, black and white with wide green eyes. Your friend and her partner had affectionately named her ‘Newspaper’.  

Slowly Newspaper crept closer to him, a few careful steps forward until she was completely out from under the bookshelf’s protection. She paused, watching Jake carefully before shuffling closer again. 

Your friend asks you a question and you turn back to her and the conversation around you. 

It’s about twenty minutes later that Jake comes and sits down next to you, grinning intently. 

You turn to him, raising an eyebrow playfully and his grin widens. 

He’s holding his shirt, a borrowed one from Steven, at an odd angle. Basically cradling it. Even if there wasn’t a bulge over his left chest it would be easy to work out why.

“What you got there?” You ask innocently. 

“Nothing.” He beams at you and leans closer, moving his shirt slightly to the side to show you Newspaper nestled against him and purring. 

You grin. 

“You think Marc’ll tell me off for getting cat hair on his t-shirt?” 

“Nah.” You shake your head. “He might tell you off for borrowing his clothes again, but not for the cat hair.”

Jake snorts. “Steven doesn’t mind when I do it.” 

You grin wider. 

“It’s Marc’s fault anyway for buying comfy clothes.” 

That makes you laugh. 

Newspaper moves a little in her sleep, tucking in closer to Jake. 

You pause for a moment, watching the kitten. A terrible joke pops into your head as if it was placed there by some unseen force. Part of you wonders if Khonshu is whispering in your ear, but then again Jake would have heard him too. 

“Jake…” You say as naturally as you can. 

“Hmm?” He glances up, clocking the silly expression on your face before you even get a chance to talk. 

You speak anyway. “You’re really good with animals…”

“Yeah.” He pins you with his deadpan gaze, ready for whatever corny joke you’re going to say next. 

“Some could say you’re a … pussy magnet.”

He snorts, breaking his nonchalant facade as quickly as he formed it and nudges you playfully in the arm with his shoulder. 

You expect an eye roll when he looks back at you, something along the lines of ‘that’s awful.’ But instead he smiles, silky smooth. “I have been told that in my time.” He waggled his eyebrows at you until you laughed and woke up the kitten.

i live in upstate new york (well central ny technically haha). i read too many books and drink copious amounts of tea & coffee. i’m obsessed with anything antique or from a bygone era. my hair is always messy no matter how hard i try to make it look decent. i am comprised of dresses, flowers, & dreams. i’m forever sleepy. i still love playing on playgrounds. i often feel homesick for places that i’ve never been. my head is always in the clouds; i’m perpetually daydreaming. i feel most at peace in nature. i am a true crime/horror junkie. a self proclaimed weirdo. a proud member of the silly goose club. if i’m not reading, writing, doing a puzzle, playing a video game, or baking, you can probably find me listening to music, overthinking, or being anxious. sometimes if you’re lucky it’s all three. i’d rather be thrifting or looking at the stars.

my favorite sounds: trains in the distance (it’s an incredibly lonely sound but it’s strangly comforting to me in a way), birds singing, rain hitting the window, the keys of a typewriter, book pages turning, cats purring, clocks ticking, the sound of leaves crunching when you step on them in autumn, the crackling sound a record makes when the needle first touches it.

Summary: Your notes to each other are a little unconventional.

You open your lunchbox. The snap of the plastic lid crackling around the room. 

You shouldn’t really be eating at your desk, you should be taking a proper break, a rest from the work piled in front of you. But this week was just too hectic. There was too much work, and you just didn’t want to sacrifice the tiny sliver of breathing room you had managed to wrangle - that space that put you just a nose ahead of the deadlines. 

You chew on your thumbnail, fishing around to grab your food while still staring at the work in front of you.

Your hand finds a scrap of paper instead of your prepacked lunch and you grin, already knowing what it is before you even have to look. 

This is worth a little pause.

You pull the neatly folded piece of paper out so you can admire it fully. 

Despite its razor sharp neat edge, the actual paper is a roughly ripped piece of newspaper, every side having been torn messily. Newspaper. Your grin widens. That was new. 

Inside are block letters written in black felt tip pen. The lines have been drawn over many times, tracing the words so that they stand out harshly against the block printed text. 

The note reads: “I HOPE YOU HAVE A HORRIBLE DAY!” followed by three hearts. 

You chuckle to yourself and refold the note before placing it, very carefully, in your bag for safekeeping. You would add it to your collection when you got home. 

Marc wakes up groggily. Both Steven and Jake still fast asleep in the headspace. 

He screws his face up as he pats the space beside him in bed, eyes still closed, and grumbles when he finds it cold and empty. 

You must have thought he needed the rest and either woken up before your alarm, or, most likely, he had slept through it. 

He couldn’t remember a time when he had slept so soundly before he had shared a bed with you. 

Marc swears lightly when he looks at the time and, a little begrudgingly, gets up. He shuffles to the bathroom, still wiping sleep from his eyes and then laughs loudly when he catches sight of the mirrored cupboard on the wall. 

Bluetacked to the left side is a note written on an old receipt. A receipt. His smile widens. That was different. 

In block red capitals written messily with a ballpoint pen reads: “YOU SUCK!” followed by three Xs. 

He carefully takes the note off the mirror and touches the letters lightly as he beams at it. He’d have to show Jake and Steven when they were up before he put it in his safe place.
