Ridgway, Montrose, and Olathe all provide farmers markets on various occasions. Olathe is a bit over an hour away, but worth the drive! Try some Olathe sweet corn (Olathe is the sweet corn capital of the US, after all), at almost every market stand. Palisade peaches are another specialty that locals and tourists love to sink their teeth into. You can get them straight from Palisade (about a 2+ hour drive) or in a closer town if they happen to be selling them.

If you’re up for a slightly longer drive, try one of the “u-pick” orchards or farms in the Cedaredge or Paonia areas! In Cedaredge, a common favorite is Uncle Johnny’s U-Pick farm, which has anything from berries to beans to peaches and more during various times of the year. Closer to Paonia is Delicious Orchards (which offers both local food, vinegars, and hard ciders) and Orchard Valley has a variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers ripe for picking.
