Sounds That Have Been Made, EP 95: Amp Fiddler, Live in Montreaux 2004
I think the first time I saw the name Amp Fiddler was as a sessioner in the liner notes to Maxwell‘s debut LP The Urban Hang Suite, a sumptuous, meandering neo-soul affair that sits as timeless as any classic from Sade, Meshell, Bill Withers, or anyone else.  The next time I saw him mentioned was in Straight No Chaser magazine, where his sophomore solo album, Waltz of a Ghetto Fly, was coming…

Song Review: Iggy Pop - “Modern Day Ripoff” (Live)
Playing fast and tight with the tune, Iggy Pop and his band were similarly cacophonous and abrasive on “Modern Day Ripoff” at the 2023 Montreux Jazz Festival.
This was by design, of course. But it’s something only a through-and-through punk could love and sounds particularly grating in the wake of “Five Foot One” and “The Passenger” preceding the Jan. 24 release of Live at Montreux Jazz Festival 2023.
It’s a fuckin’ ripoff, Pop shrieks as his band thrashes behind him, horns blaring, piano pounding and guitars snarling.
Fun for moshing in the moment. Less so for listening at home.

Review: The Fae Menagerie (Fortune Favors the Fae #5) by Edie Montreaux
Rating: 3.5🌈 The Fae Managerie by Edie Montreaux is the fifth book in this fabulous multi author fantasy series and I found it very entertaining. While the traveling magical coin is not as much of a character element as it is in the other books, it serves as the item that will bind together two the highly different main characters here. The concept is interesting if not fully developed or…

Lucio Dalla - 4 Marzo 1943 (Video Live)
youtube
❤️❤️❤️
