I’m slowly working my way through drawing the main Ranchfell cast. It only feels right to start off with the brothers that kicked this whole AU idea off: the skeletons.

Papyrus - Nickname: Chief

A former member of the Royal Guard, Chief decided to start afresh on the Surface, so he set up a ranch with his brother. They mostly specialise in longhorn cattle, but their ranch is home to a variety of animals and livestock. Chief keeps a couple of sheep, as he has a secret soft spot for the wooly animals, not that he’ll ever admit it...Even though he;s retired from law enforcement, he’ll still help out Sheriff Undyne if she needs some extra monsterpower. But, for the most part, he’s content to hide himself away on his ranch.

Sans - Nickname: Bronco

Sometimes refered to as “Bronc” by friends, Bronco is a charmer, and he knows it. He’s a frequent face at Grillby’s saloon, where he’s got a bit of a reputation for one night stands, but in reality it’s all a lie - He only ever takes his conquests to their front porch, steals a kiss, winks and promises "next time". The truth that not even his brother knows is that Bronco longs for a real relationship, but he feels stuck in a loop of cheap hookups and a sullied reputation. Bronc rarely goes anywhere without his loyal German Shepherd dog, Bingo, at his heels.

 ♡  — almost  immediately  after  she  spoke,  adam  felt  a  hesitation  wash  over  him.  the  corners  of  his  mouth  wavered  at  the  honesty  in  her  tone.  he  rarely  smiled;  sure,  there  was  always  some  SMIRK  on  his  face  ( at  this  point  it  was  his  default  state ),  but  he  rarely  had  a  genuine  smile.  she  had  done  that.  some  stupid  comment  she’d  made  that  he  couldn’t  even  remember  now.  somehow  she  pulled  it  out  of  him  and  it  unnerved  adam.  how  had  she  gotten  that  power?  

 and  more  importantly:  how  did  he  fight  it?

 the  smile  dropped  from  his  face  almost  immediately  in  an  act  of  what  he  felt  was  self  preservation.  it  was  replaced  with  a  roll  of  his  eyes  and  that  condescending  smirk  he  liked  so  much.  this  was  safe.  this  was  normal.  this  he  had  control  over.
