vampires are immortal. homonculi (like Frankenstein’s monster) could be immortal with the proper care. many other kinds of monsters, like gargoyles, ghosts, mummies, can be considered immortal too.

now, you’ve seen plenty of monster stories that go back in time. Like vampires in the victorian era, which we all know and absolutely love.

let’s jump forward in time a bit

listen what im trying to get at here is, imagine monster high set in a cyberpunk future

Draculaura in glowing pink neon and translucent boots with see-through platforms that have tiny bat holograms flying in them

Clawdeen in the most over the top, actual cybernetic fashion she can conjure up, maybe even a clothing line with outfits that can put on a runway show no matter where you are (hidden lights, music, the works).

Frankie with interchangeable prosthetic limbs, some realistic (but still green because it may represent rot, but it’s her scaritage), others cybernetic with apps and everything, and some purely aesthetic/artistic.

you have to keep the gothic element somehow; ancient stone walls and smart vending machines that conjure up full meals; screen masks over rotted faces that can’t express emotions anymore; newly installed underground machinery and fire-breathing dragons making their homes by the engines deep, deep in the catacombs (no one sees them, but some say the installment crew never came back up, and that the weird sounds aren’t just the engines).

Jackson and Holt would be these weirdly liminal creatures. Like you could only find Holt in a club of some sort, with loud music and perma headphones (they’re installed into the skin in front of your ear, or they’re muffs installed around and over your ear). His jacket is always glowing, and some say his hair is real fire

Meanwhile you could only find Jackson in backroom labs, the kind that are rarely used or that look abandoned. The yellow tips in his hair glow neon yellow, and he favors equally yellow eye contacts to make himself appear more monstrous. No one likes asking him what, exactly, he does in those labs.

Weirdly enough, he also has perma headphones…

Well ok, if you say so, Anon! 👀💕

So this is me being very indulgent Menace once again, and I'm sure you'll notice a pattern with me when it comes to themes and tropes I lean towards. LMAO 😂(Also this is in the very early rough concept stage so things might get tweaked with time!)

BUT ANYWAYS, so very futuristic city!! I'm talkin' like Akira/Cyberpunk 2077/Ghost In The Shell/etc style where it's very dense, neon lights everywhere, hologram ads, advanced technology, the works.

FazCo. is in the entertainment industry, but not the kid-friendly kind. They've found that the creature pit fighting scene has been a big hit globally and wanted to cash in on the big profits. Lots of rich people like to host and sponsor these matches typically and attendees are able to place bets. So Fazco. started to develop several of their own homemade creatures to throw into the ring.

A lot of these creatures typically have one to two human handlers who represent them and are in charge of taking care of them, training them, escorting them within the venues, basically everything. It pays well enough, but there is also the very real danger of their assigned creature killing them so it's a high risk job.

These creatures vary in all shapes and sizes. (Though typically they're much, much bigger than humans.) Some are organically lab made, some are organic but have technological augmentations, others are purely robotic. As long as they're able to fight and entice a crowd, that's all that matters.

Sun and Moon are unique within this world. They're partially organic, but heavily augmented, (so kind of a cyborg type of thing) which is nothing new, but their 'brain' is completely robotic and allows them to switch between their duel A.I.s.

Fazco.'s idea for them was basically 'why not have a creature that can switch up their fighting style at a moments notice to keep the opponent on their toes?' without really thinking of the consequences of that. :) (And the only way you can tell which is which is their subtle eye change (and demeanor but eyes are the easiest). Double white for Sun, double red for Moon, and their ace up their sleeve, red and white for both aka Eclipse.)

Y/N decides to apply for the handler job. (The previous handlers all had unfortunate accidents but they don't have to know that.) They know what they're getting into and risks involved but really they're only in it for the money. They'd like to get out of their shithole of a neighborhood and being able to travel is a nice perk, so eh why not. They don't have any real self preservation so as long as they're enjoying the ride that's all that matters to them.

Cue them actually getting to know Sun and Moon over time and 'oops I've become attached and man...this life must suck for them...I'm gonna pull a Free Willy. :)' But not without numerous fights in between, lots of danger with the wrong people, near death situations, etc etc first. And Sun and Moon getting attached themselves with time and being a big ol' guard dog. (And maybe a little tiny bit of love between em cause that's the monster fucker in me talking. LMAO)😌

But yeah that's all I got!! I'm happy to see and hear y'all are so interested in this AU so far!! 💕

Zelda: Was a Hylian, killed by a Lynel, but had his soul plucked out by Satori and dropped into the closest empty vessel, which happened to be a decayed guardian stalker, made fully functional after extensive repairs. 7/10 is basically a computer, but wasn't always a computer

SCP: Originally human, but a computer based scip cloned his personality for itself, so 1 out of 2 of him is a computer. As a researcher, the human Lad specializes in computer science and engineering and worked in Site-15 for most of his time with the foundation, so I'll give him a couple points for that + his horrible trauma in this au making him very robotic. 7/10 mostly a computer

D&D: A living construct. 6/10 kind of a computer

fantasy: A human king that lost his body to a fae curse and now possesses a castle. 4/10 not a computer and was once human, but is a building which is similarly inorganic and nonhumanoid

demon: An angel. 4/10 not a computer but is a nonhuman thing with "programming" that he strictly follows

monster: A human butler turned tentacle monster. 3/10 not a computer and was once human, but is an obedient, nonhuman thing.

I decided to try something special! I'm opening requests for some Valeria x Female!Reader themed headcanons based on Valeria's many Skins. I have some rules and a guiede set in place, so please make sure to read them carefully! Rememer! These will be SHORT Headcanons!

How it works:

Each row has a certain theme which I'm going to explain in prompt simular fashion. When you write your request, you just tell me which row and skin you'd like me to write about. You can, of course, share some light details on what direction you want this to go, but it has to match with the prompt! If you however want me to go ham with my own ideas, I can do that too ;)Example: "Row two, skin three. Perhaps the reader is the daughter of a rival cartel boss Valeria has a bone to pick with?" So this is my second favorite WIP after sanctuary and the one I REALLY want to get to after i finish that one bc there's really not enough wlw Sebchal content

This takes place in a dark freshly post-apocalyptic world in a blade runner-esque city protected by a dome - outside there's unnatural darkness full of monsters so nobody goes there (supposedly). Charles is a high class escort, stripper and occasional con-artist who is trying to keep her little found family of misfits afloat (girl!Alex, George and Lando). One night as she's out she runs into Seb, who in this one is a bounty hunter and the leader of a crew of tough guys (Jenson, Mark, Kimi probably) who are all devoted to her (her vibes are dirtbag butch-y lesbian who rides motorcycles and wears a grimy tank top with no bra). They start an on and off affair which ends up with them entangled in the city's politics and a rebellion against the city's corrupt elite.

The back story is that right before the world went to shit Charles and Seb were both part of the same training program for elite pilots (of mechas or planes ? Unclear.) - Charles never got to finish it but Seb was briefly one of the spearheads of the defense force that was supposed to save the city which, obviously didn't work. (Half of the city was lost and probably both their families as well) Charles doesn't immediately recognize her but eventually does. Big themes of bodily autonomy - among other things Charles has a lot of body mods and Seb has a cybernetic arm. Also ft. Lewis/Nico as a couple of toxic lesbians who run an underground club that's also a front for the resistance.

So, I was tagged by @sunwarmed-ash (hiiii!) and here I am! With my 8 published fics and their opening lines paragraphs! Whoohoo! From older to newer...

1. What happens in Vegas... (Tutor/Fighter AU where they never reconciled but get drunken married in Las Vegas)

Tor wakes up with the mother of all headaches. There's an EDM party going on between his temples, and he's pretty sure if it doesn't subside quickly, he'll seriously contemplate beheading as a solution to it.

2. All these pieces (a fic for Crush. *vague gesture* Canon? I don't know her)

There's a hidden place, Mark sometimes muses, where all the other stories live. The possibilities that didn’t become true.

3. Like a curse (Tutor/Fighter & Crush heist!AU)

2 paragraphs because I love love love how the second one came out and have to inflict it upon people.

Tutor's father had a long list of rules on how to be a successful con artist and thief. He said he had learned them from his mentor, who had in turn learned them from his father. The rules, he claimed, had survived generations, if with a little tweak here and there to keep up with the modernization of their world, and Tutor's father felt it was his duty to pass them on to his son. He used to recite them again and again to young Tutor, saying that repetition makes perfect, and his son had to be at least as good as he was.

The list started with "Always have a plan B and an escape route", went through basic stuff like "If you work a job for a fool, you're the real fool" and "A lean team is a good team", meandered into more esotheric territory with maxims like "The only good Matryoshka is the one you don't try" and "If you smell a rat, it's already too late for the poison", and then came back into the realm of basic common sense with the last rule: "Don't get caught".

4. Statistical anomalies (OT4 ❤️💙💛🖤 KafkaSyndrome!AU. The au of an au. With extra fluffy animals.)

One in four people. That's one of the small certainties science has about all this, even after more than a century since it started happening. In the course of their life, one in four people will live the wild experience of one day waking up not as a human, but as an animal.

5. What doesn't kill you makes you a monster (did anyone say "Stranger Things angst and body horror"?)

Steve Harrington knows pain. In the past years, it's become a vicious best friend with many faces that keeps him company almost every day. It's migraines that make his skull thud viciously and that turn every bright light into an ice pick to the eyes. It's back aches and joint aches from one too many fall, whether on the basketball court or while fighting monsters. It's his ankle, throbbing with red hot intensity every time the weather is changing. It's his scars from the demobats bites, feeling taut and bristling with thousands of tiny needles. It’s his left eye and the tissue around it pulsing and thudding in tune with his heart. It's that feeling like something is forever fucked up in his ribs, he'll never breathe easy again, not even in a hundred years.

6. Amok (Harringrove! Angst!)

The mall is so noisiy that he almost doesn't register it. A woman's voice. It calls "Billy?" like she's surprised. Like this is the best kind of serendipity.

7. Come close (Harringrove cyberpunk!AU)

The only reason why Billy accepted to meet this mystery person is because he's worked with Pr1nc3$$ eight, no, nine times before, which is a pretty high number of times, and by now he knows he can trust her as much as you can trust anyone in this line of work. Pr1nc3$$ is a good hacker. She's professional. She's fun to shoot the shit with in the moments of lull that inevitably can happen during a job. She doesn't ask stupid questions. She doesn't like to take stupid risks, which has never been an issue, Billy's more than ready to take them for everyone. She doesn't get angry when he calls her baby (because he's a jackass), and in exchange he doesn't get angry when she calls him a variety of names (because he's earned them all).

8. Of soulmates and colors (metalsandwich soulmates!AU)

It’s the first clear memory Steve has of his father looking at him in disappointment. Steve’s somewhere between four and six years old and he tries to tell mom and dad that the world is not just in black and white anymore, now there's something else along the usual multitude of shades of grays and white. A weird new shade that is hidden in the darkest of blacks, a shade that was not there this morning. His father looks at him like Steve just let him down in the worst way possible and tells him that to lie for attention is a disgraceful behavior in anyone, but even more so in his only son. Steve tries to insist that he’s not lying, that something actually changed. By the end of the day, he decides to take it all back, because he thinks that sticking to the truth and not being believed hurts too much.

Hello! I have some questions about your cyberpunk au! I was wondering how the labyrinth arc is going to work for this au, is it going to be similar to the original? And with Black Hat, is he still running the casino? And will he and Bendy have that student/mentor thing? I also like the other aus you made! They're very creative :)

First quick TW for people who haven’t read or finished Nightmare Night or the Labyrinth and brainwashing/mind control.

So, the labyrinth arc is going to work pretty much the same as OG IM. Except we have a new character! I made a previous drawing back in May about nightmare night. At first it was a random idea that a couple friends of mine made for fun, but then i decided in order to add a little spice to the story line I made it cannon to the AU.

The idea would be that Holly May, who in my AU is like a magic and tech wiz, hacked Cuphead’s sleeper mode programming and used him against the questers during nightmare night. He’s released afterward don’t worry.

And THEN the labyrinth happens. We know that because Holly was controlled by the cog and when she went into the labyrinth the cog-fied version of herself was manifested there as a separate entity. Later turned into I think something akin to a celestial being. So! Because Cuphead was controlled by the cog through Holly, it would stand to reason that when he went into the labyrinth cog-ified Cuphead would would also have a physical manifestation in the labyrinth. Enter in the character my good friend, @richiedicky made (sorry for the @), Anarchy.

During the labyrinth he mostly went around causing confusion and messing with people. He at some point pulled real Cup aside and probably had some mini battle with him. I think we gave Anarchy the ability to jump between timelines or universes or something, so probably uses that to mess with him.

When the questers finally meet up to grab the instrument, instead of Cuphead it was Anarchy posing as Cuphead. While they were all running around the labyrinth Anarchy was secretly sabotaging them; guiding them to the wrong paths, sending monsters after them, that sort of thing. Eventually the questers realize that someone among their crew was throwing them all off and figured out it was Anarchy. At some point real Cuphead rejoins into them and then things continue on in the labyrinth as usual. Except now there’s a third celestial being causing chaos in the labyrinth.

The only other thing I can think of that made the labyrinth different is the setting. Because this AU is set in the future, the time period the buildings and memories were from would be different. More high tech stuff in there I guess.

Now, to answer your other questions. Black Hat still owns a ritzy casino/hotel in Toon City. But he also has a side gig of sorts that he was going on with Dr. Flug. The two of them specialize with cyberware tech and other tech advancements. He and Flug created Cuphead and Mugman’s cyberware and programming, as well as Bendy’s eye. And yes, he and Bendy still have that mentorship going on.

Run by Lysander and Giovanni

These two Rocket Food enterprises. It's considered the food of the future. They own gyms, diet pill and exercise equipment companies. They have multiple food brands all disguised as trying to curve obesity and spread awareness for health and fitness. Giovanni handles the business while Lysander does tech.

The thing about filing the serial numbers off is that I’m way too neurotic abt being clocked so I swing way too hard in the other direction that my derivatives of my fanfic are practically unrecognizable. Like people would probably be able to tell if they knew me very well and the tropes I like bc the characters very much have Tells but like. love is blind au has splintered off into two concurrent WIPs, a modern when Harry met Sally / Before Trilogy thing but with non-binary people across a class divide and it’s way more about having intimacy through extremely mundane conversations over the span of like a decade and camp theater and the false dichotomy between low and high art and webcomics and questioning the fundamental beats of a rom com, and also theres wip 2 which is a weird cyberpunk dystopic dating show with a mystery pot engine where the main leads get fake engaged to go undercover miss congeniality style but also there’s a love triangle and it’s about the regency austen thing about finding agency through romance in a system that is built against you where the main character is essentially a replicant created by a Prometheus who doesn’t lover her who doesn’t have her own sense of personhood so the pitch is like “what if Emma woodhouse and Henry higgens were in a tug of war over who gets to have the more influence in shaping Frankenstein’s monster”

formal: What's your OC's formal look? Do they like dressing up? Do they have different looks for different occasions?

I picture D the Dullahan in an all black, long-ish, 18th century coat with some nice brocade because, despite being a bit reserved, he does like fancy stuff. He has soft, comfortable (black) trousers that tuck into long, knee-high (black) turn-down boots, and a black silk shirt. Black is his thing and he doesn't really wear much else.

hair: How does your OC wear their hair? Does it have some kind of meaning?

Ten, also being a dullahan, likes to keep her hair back off her face so she can see when she's riding her monster of a horse around. I picture her with long, blonde hair that she braids into different patterns before it all comes together in a long, single braid down her back. It doesn't have any special meaning, but she enjoys the process of plaiting it up off her stern face.

alternate: What would your OC's alternate universe look be? If they're a fantasy character, what's their modern look? If they're sci-fi, what's their fantasy look? What AU would you want to see your OC in, and how would they dress themself?

Pixie, despite her name, is a banshee from modern times, who enjoys her tall stature and muscular body. She would fit right into a Cyberpunk style setting, with augmentations and implants. If she were in a fantasy setting, she'd be the classic barbarian build I think, with armour and a fuck-off big sword and a bruiser of a horse that only likes her. I'd love to see her in either AU type settings.
