Hi, this is Raj Pathare. You can find me as Webhead Cosplays on Facebook & Instagram. I am an Architecture student as well as a Professional Graffiti artist.

When and how did you start cosplaying?

I started cosplaying back in 2014. I had seen some pictures from MFCC 2013 which my friends visited and I was truly amazed to see such cosplay, as I was into cartoons and comics since childhood. So my first cosplay was Doc OC from Spiderman 2. It took me around 1 month to complete and was totally low-cost cosplay but came out good and i won category award for my first cosplay. I also won in same category for same cosplay in 2015

What are the challenges that you face while cosplaying in India?

TRAVELING!!! Getting your props to con traveling by trains, especially when you stay far. Also people around look at you in a suspicious manner as if my swords are real or I am a retard, and you land up with silly questions, people don’t have an idea about cosplaying yet. When we explain that this is a cosplay or its my hobby, they ask so how much do they pay you for this! Some People think putting so much efforts in a costume that too as a hobby is waste of time! Where as some people appreciate it and get inspired.

What are some important things to consider while making props?

Prop making is fun but can be hectic at times too. Firstly you need to find materials. I usually find waste materials and try to use them in my cosplays. People appreciate when they spot those materials you used for detailing, for eg needle case, balm bottle caps, shoe laces, etc.

Besides cosplaying what other creative fields have you explored?

As i said i am graffiti artist and do it for living!! I started graffiti as a hobby 5 years back and now turned it into a profession. I have done many commercial projects such as Micromax advertisement. You can find my work at IIT Bombay (Techfest). I represent the  streets!!!

What is your favorite cosplays that you have done till now?

Till now i have cosplayed- Doc Oc, Spidey, Deadpool, Prince of Persia, Fire Fist Ace, Vegeta.

But people gave amazing response to my Fire Fist Ace and Doc Oc. Fire Fist Ace is a great character from One Piece and so there were many one piece fans going crazy over my cosplay. Plus there was Monica Premkumar cosplaying Luffy with me which made it more catchy for one piece fans!

How can the cons and comics events can be further improved?

I feel cons should be provided with changing facilities for cosplayers. Also some lockers for them as you can see many cosplayers cosplaying as well as handling their bags and stuff!!! And also cosplayers should be given 30secs of performance time if they have something their mind.

Cosplay in India is growing and getting better! I have seen many good cosplayers since I have started, also I am a newbie and looking forward to pull out some kick ass cosplays.

What is an ideal location for cosplay shoots?

If you are looking for a location to shoot in Mumbai I will recommend Vasai Fort. Since it has many parts segregated and it is an old fort. Broken walls and arches gives good effects and add amazing background to your picture, also depends on your character. You can find pictures of my Prince of Persia shoot and Spidey shoot which was done at Vasai Fort.

Any tips for cosplay fans who are just starting up?

I always advise people to cosplay, especially the ones who ask me about cosplaying. You once try to visit a con and I am sure that you will be amazed and will have an urge to cosplay!!! Also cosplay for fun and to live your character, not for just winning. No doubt winning cosplays are great but when you cosplay your favorite character even though its simple, that feeling is different!!!

Seventh Grader Aims to Improve Treatment for Pancreatic Cancer Using Artificial Intelligence

Discovery Education (@DiscoveryEd) and 3M (@3M) have named 13-year-old Rishab Jain the winner of the 2018 Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge (#YoungScientist). Rishab created an algorithm to make pancreatic cancer treatment more effective by using artificial intelligence to accurately locate and track the pancreas in real-time during MRI radiotherapy.

Pancreatic cancer is the third-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States, according to pancreatic.org. An inherent challenge of radiation treatment for pancreatic cancer resides in targeting the pancreas itself. Firstly, it is often obscured by the stomach or other nearby organs, making the pancreas difficult to locate and second, breathing and other anatomical changes may cause the pancreas to move around in the abdominal area. As a result, radiotherapy treatment can inadvertently target and impact healthy cells.

Rishab developed and tested his algorithm using images of the human digestive system, and found it could correctly detect the pancreas with a 98.9 percent success rate. The innovation aims to improve accuracy, reduce invasiveness and increase efficiency during treatment, resulting in better quality of life and chance for survival among patients.

A seventh-grader at Stoller Middle School in Portland, Ore., Rishab competed alongside nine other finalists during a live competition at the 3M Innovation Center in St. Paul, Minn. He was awarded the title of “America’s Top Young Scientist” and received a $25,000 prize.

During the summer, the finalists had the exclusive opportunity to work with 3M scientists to develop their innovations as part of a unique mentorship program. Rishab was paired with Dr. Döne Demirgöz, a 3M corporate supply chain black belt and product development and research expert who takes the products developed in 3M labs and brings them to the marketplace.

The finalists presented their inventions to an esteemed panel of scientists and leaders from both Discovery Education and 3M. In addition, they competed in two other challenges that combined multiple 3M technologies to solve a real-world problem.

“All of the finalists for America’s Top Young Scientist embody the same curiosity, creativity, and passion that 3M uses when we apply science to life,” said Paul Keel, senior vice president, business development and marketing-sales, 3M. “These talented young men and women are just beginning their lives as scientists.  I am excited by the endless possibilities that await each of them. We wish them all the joy and success that comes from a lifelong journey of exploration.”

The nine finalists received $1,000 and a variety of prizes from Discovery Education and 3M. The second, third and fourth runners-up also received a trip to a taping of a show on Discovery’s family of networks.

These finalists include:

In second place: Mehaa Amirthalingam, an eighth-grader at Sartaria Middle School from Sugar Land, Texas, developed a toilet flushing system that uses both fresh and recycled water to reduce water consumption in the home.

In third place: Leo Wylonis, an eighth-grader at Tredyffrin-Easttown Middle School in Berwyn, Pa., designed a device for airplane wings that mimics the twisting motion of a bird in flight, increases fuel efficiency and reduces carbon emissions.

In fourth place: Sriram Bhimaraju, a sixth-grader at Harker Middle School in Cupertino, Calif., developed an Archery Assistant app that improves an archer’s accuracy by correcting form in real-time using a Bluetooth sensor.

The fifth through tenth place winners each received a $1,000 prize and a $500 excitations gift card. These finalists, in alphabetical order by last name, are:

Anna Du, a sixth-grader from Andover School of Montessori in Andover, Mass. Anna created an underwater device that uses infrared light to detect harmful microplastics in the ocean.

Julia Gelfond, a seventh-grader at Silver Creek Middle School in Chevy Chase, Md. Julia invented an innovative use for dissolvable gel that can fill a tooth hole after it has been extracted to alleviate pain, infection and suffering.

Zachary Hessler, a seventh-grader at Gifford Middle School in Vero Beach, Fla. Zachery developed a method using light technology to reduce noise pollution.

Theodore Jiang, an eighth-grader at Paul Revere Charter Middle School in Santa Monica, Calif. Theodore invented Textricity, a smartphone case that harvests energy from finger taps on the screen to charge the phone’s battery.

Cameron Sharma, an eighth-grader at George H Moody Middle School in Glen Allen, Va. Cameron created uFlu, an algorithm that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to identify personalized flu vaccines.

Krish Wadhwani, an eighth grader at DeSana Middle School in Alpharetta, Ga. Krish developed a medication that could potentially cure Huntington’s Disease, a degenerative condition in the brain that currently has no known cure.

Prince Narula And Yuvika Chaudhary's Sangeet Ceremony Pictures

New Delhi: Prince Narula and Yuvika Chaudhary's wedding is not far away. The celebrations are going on and continued on Thursday night with a sangeet ceremony cum cocktail night. Rannvijay Singha, Karan Kundra, Anusha Dandekar, Rashmi Desai, Rochelle Rao, Keith Sequeira and Priyank Sharma among others joined the couple for the ceremony held in Mumbai.

The couple looked very happy and looked excited. Yuvika wore a spectacular white embellished outfit perfect for both sangeet ceremony and cocktail party. Prince on the hand wore a soft pink outfit and looked absolutely dashing. The couple had the time of their lives with their friends as was recorded in several Instagram stories. Glimpses of last night's party were shared by some celebs on social media, which are now viral.

Yuvika and Prince looked totally thrilled and into the moment as they posed for the photographers and interacted with the media. Yuvika happily showed her mehendi pattern, part of which was a tribute to reality show Bigg Boss, where she first met Prince Narula (he later won the show)

Yuvika and Prince's Bigg Boss 9 batch mates Rochelle Rao and Keith Sequeira and Mandana Karimi were in attendance. Mandana wore a bright yellow suit accessorized with jhumkis and jutis while Rochelle wore a pastel green floor length anarkali. We also spotted former Bigg Boss contestant Priyank Sharma, who appeared in season 11.

Actress Rashmi Desai, best known for roles in Uttran and Dil Se Dil Tak, also made it to the party. Actress Monica Bedi and MTV's Divya Agarwal (who dated Priyank Sharma at some point) looked fabulous too.

Prince and Rannvijay Singha are acquaintances from Roadies X2 and Splitsvilla 8. Prince won both reality shows, which were co-hosted by Rannvijay. Prince Narula's former Roadies co-contestant Varun Sood was also present at the party. Here's a group photo outside the venue.

Prince and Yuvika met while they were participants in Bigg Boss 9. They've inseparable after the show. Prince Narula became a household name after winning three reality shows back-to-back. His first TV show was Bado Bahu and he was recently seen in a short role in Naagin 3.

Yuvika has featured in films such as Om Shanti Om, Naughty @ 40 and Veerey Ki Wedding. She is also known for her roles in TV shows such as Astitva...Ek Prem Kahani and Kumkum Bhagya.

There’s nothing like Indian women in ethnic wear, even ballroom gowns can’t win this war. Earlier, Bollywood celebs were seen wearing one during special occasions but these days with film promotions going on in full-swing, we get a glimpse of the ladies acing their fashion game frequently, either in fusion wear or Indian wear with a modern touch to it. Clearly, we were a little excited to see Anushka Sharma, Ileana D’Cruz and Athiya Shetty pulling of ethnic wear at their respective promotional events. Take a look, it might help you get some inspiration.

Anushka Sharma This Bollywood beauty was seen in a Manish Malhotra outfit during the launch of the official promo of her upcoming film Jab Harry Met Sejal along with director Imtiaz Ali. The silk ivory kurta with embroidered sleeves and a matching wide legged pants made for a lovely pair. The actress looked good in it while accessorising it with juttis from Coralhaze. We like how celebrity stylist Allia Al Rufai has styled this look but colourful statement earrings with a romantic updo would have complemented the outfit better.

Celebrity make-up artist Puneet B Saini was roped in for her make-up and even though we think it’s nice, she could have gone with a red lip shade for the actor. We usually see Sharma in softer lip shades, a darker hue would have been better for a change.

Ileana D’Cruz The actor looked striking in a tasseled choli and silk brocade lehenga set by Payal Singhal. While pale grey might not be your first choice for a lehenga, check how well the actor paired with a matching dupatta and beautiful gold earrings.

Don’t make the mistake of going for a muted make-up for this look because you need to add some colour here and the way D’Cruz did it with a berry tone lip shade is commendable. We love this look.

Athiya Shetty The Mubarakan actor was seen in an embroidered ensemble by Jade by Monica and Karishma and we think she carried it well.

The beige flared kurta with intricate work, the wide legged pants and a matching dupatta looked lovely on her slender frame. With hair in cascading curls, she rounded out her look with a red pout and metallic ankle straps.
