one day they'll make a polyamory flag that doesn't look like the flag of a country.
pi symbol one? that's the Donetsk people's republic
love heart one? basically the Philippines 🇵🇭
my prediction is the next polyamory pride flag will literally just be a Mongolian Tug banner and ppl will get mad if you point it out

Okay, I cannot get over it. Because This Is My First Life, I cannot even with your ending.
PSA: If your significant other (I don't care if you are contract married) tells you they want a divorce, goes on an Eat Pray Love trip for several months leaving you only a vague letter about dead Mongolians, and doesn't check up on you at all, even through her friends who absolutely know how you are doing, and then suddenly comes back and SMIRKS when you get mad at her because you've finally expressed feelings or some bullshit...
THROW THAT SIGNIFICANT OTHER WHERE SHE BELONGS: IN THE TRASH
Pretty sure the only reason he took her back is he was too broken to say no, because she ripped out his heart and stomped on it. That is not a healthy relationship, it's a massive red flag and Se-hee should have told her to GTFO.
Also, that disgusting scene at the end where he is serving her snacks like a baby? I guess he's just some sort of slave for her now? What the actual fuck.

In advance of the nominations closing in about 48 hours and needing to get the flag information together for the tournament, I'm going through the entries more in depth, checking for inconsistencies and such. I may run into information that I'm unsure on how to proceed on and will ask for clarifying information on this post here.
In the event the person who submitted it sees one of these asks, please reach out so we can figure out what the best information is to proceed! Otherwise I will try to correct the information to be as close to what I can confirm is accurate and as similar to the submitted information as possible.
I recognize that some of these were submitted over 6 months ago, so the chances of everyone seeing everything is a little low, but I'd like to do right by your submission!
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia - I can't figure out where the light blue flag comes from. Though it's the one given on the city's page on Wikipedia, digging through the city's website (though the images only go back a few years), I'm only able to find images of the dark blue version with gold outlines on a white figure in use. (You can see it in the background here.) I've been trying to determine if the submitted version is an official version or historical version of the flag so I know what to put it down as, but I haven't had any luck. Even the FOTW version appears to potentially be an interpretation of a written description (though it does note that a dark blue variant with colors on the garuda appears on government websites in 2008). (As a note, the Mongolian description of the flag FOTW refers to uses the word "хөх" which, according to Wiktionary, is exclusively for dark blue.) I'm...not sure how to proceed with this. I guess the options are 1) use the dark blue/gold/white one (current official flag) 2) use the dark blue colored flag (variant of the current flag) 3) use the light blue flag (variant but of ambiguous legitimacy).
RESOLVED
Brocēni, Latvia - The submitted flag does not seem to match what Wikipedia claims is the current version of the flag. This was changed on Wikipedia back on 30 July 2023. The white version of the flag was not explained nor can I find any information myself. If you happen to know if it was an old version of the flag or if you'd prefer for me to use the current flag please let me know!
Tifariti, Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic - It seems like this is not an official flag, and one of (many, unfortunately) proposed flags made and uploaded by Wikipedia users without being associated with the region or labeled as such. At least, I have not seen any evidence to prove that it's real... If the person who submitted it happens to know more than this, please let me know! [For reference, the flag was crossposted to Reddit before it was deleted.] (If evidence is not provided I'll have to remove it, which is a pity 😔)
San Francisco, Antioquia, Colombia - The Wikipedia upload was provided for this flag. The comical bird faces prompted me to dig a little deeper, especially because FOTW provided a different design. While the official San Francisco govt website does use the Wikipedia image here, it does seem in practice that they use the design FOTW provides, evidenced here and here and here. To the submitter, if you see this -- would you be okay with me switching to the actual proper design? I'll vectorize it myself so the quality isn't poor. That being said, there is a somewhat silly but technically defensible argument that the presence of the wiki version on the govt website is enough to justify using that version, so while it's not my personal preference, it is up to you. (If an opinion is not provided, I will switch to the more official version.)
Santa Cruz, California, USA - I'm not sure if this is notification or a request for response, but Wikipedia is not very clear on the usage of the Santa Cruz [County] flag. FOTW confirms that it's for the county only and not the city, and provides this page for the city itself. (For me, images on the page won't load, but they linked the image of the new 2020 flag on the city's website.) I can't find evidence for historical use of the county flag for the city, otherwise I would simply just include it as a past flag... Unfortunately I think Santa Cruz County itself is a bit too large to qualify for this. My current plan is to omit it. Please let me know if you'd like me to do anything else!

Shadowatchen was requested by Anonymous in this ask! I’m still going too fast for my friend and Alt ID guy, so Alt IDs will be added later!
Shadowatchen is a term and flag coined by @neopronouns regarding a gender that is watching you from the shadows and is therefore difficult to figure out, since it's hard to see.
This Magical Kid has a Bo Peep Theme! They switch between She/Her, They/Them, He/Him, and It/Its Pronouns and between Creep/Creeps/Creepself and Eerie/Eeries/Eerieself Neopronouns!
His name is Allghoi, after another name for the Mongolian Death Worm (side note, had NO IDEA that motherfucker existed before now. Shit's terrifying). She can basically fall into shadows, becoming part of them. She can then reemerge in any shadow, anywhere.
Creeps Magical Kid Weapon is, what else, a Shepherd's Crook. They use it to trip enemies after appearing in their shadows!
A useless face about eerie is that eeries... a bit of a coward! There's nothing really wrong with that, especially since Allghoi still puts their entire chest into being a Magical Kid no matter how terrified they are. It definitely helps that Glass gave eerie a more secretive powerset, allowing them to stay unseen.
The Magical Kid Project is a project wherein I steadily turn Pride Flags into Magical Kids! Requests are open through my inbox! Commission info is under the #commissions tag, I have a deal on Magical Kid Portraits!

Flag of the Kingdom of Mongolia
This is the flag of the Kingdom of Mongolia. It comes from a world where China successfully repelled the Mongols early on. As a result, the Mongol Empire never came to be. The Mongols continued to be pushed farther and farther west until they arrived in Eastern Europe. Eventually, they settled around where Romania and southern Poland are in our world. Thus, the Kingdom of Mongolia was born. The Mongols were frequently visited by Byzantine missionaries, and the Mongolian Orthodox Church is the official state religion. The Byzantine Empire also remains a major trading partner for Mongolia. In more peculiar alliances, Mongolia is also a major ally of the tiny mountainous nation of Neo Hellas, the final remnant of pagan Greece.
The coming of the Mongols altered the migration patterns of several other peoples. For example, the Bulgars settled in Russia, establishing the Czardom of Bulgaria. Meanwhile, several Germanic tribes invaded Greece, and Byzantium is currently ruled by a Germanic dynasty. Islam was still founded, but it never expanded beyond the Arabian Peninsula.
In terms of bad relations, Mongolia has always had a very tense relationship with the Franco-Saxon Kingdom. Throughout the years the Franco-Saxons have repeatedly attempted to conquer the Mongolians. Even after all these years, Mongolia remains bitter about the Franco-Saxon invasion that occurred during the Second Great Patriotic War. Despite this, in more recent times there has been increasing emphasis on moving on and letting go of the past. Younger generations in particular are more likely to support reconciliation between the two nations.
Mongolia takes pride in its dual mature of East Asian heritage and Eastern European culture. The flag reflects this dual heritage. The blue recalls both the cloak of the Virgin Mary and the eternal blue sky of the Tengrism. The horse symbolizes the nomadic past of the Mongolian people, before they settled in Eastern Europe. The cross represents the Mongolian Orthodox Church, with the flame representing the flames of Pentecost. The interlocking circles halves represent the dual nature of the Mongolian people. The golden bands represent the hope that the Mongolian people will always prosper no matter what life throws at them. They also help to offset the blue on the main body of the flag.

compilation of some of my library displays ive made
[ID: a pinboard made for international womens’ day, with a variety of famous influential women authors arranged on the board. the “for $1 name a woman” meme is placed in the centre, and the text has been edited to say “for $1 name a woman author”. my students have been asked to match the names up with the authors, and they are failing miserably. they have labelled sappho as elizabeth bronte, and angie thomas as mary shelley. end ID]
[ID: a display made for national science week. many of the letters have been made into science themed objects, i.e: the “A” is a ruler, the “I” is a test tube, the “O” is a planet, and the word “science” is covered in green slime. end ID]
[ID: a display made for NAIDOC week (NAIDOC stands for National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Day Observation Committee). the Australian Aboriginal flag is hung in the centre, and the board has paper cutouts of eucalyptus leaves and stars scattered around. end ID]
[ID: a close up on the NAIDOC week board. a map of the australian state of victoria is shown, with the lands labelled with their tradtional owners shown, rather than the colonial names and borders. notable/populated cities are labelled externally with string, showing which Peoples land the city was erected on. end ID]
[ID: a close up on the NAIDOC week board. a small amount of common Woiwurrung vocabulary is shown, with pronunciation guides and translations. Woiwurrung is the language spoken by the indigenous peoples of Narrm (colonially known as melbourne) and its surrounding areas.
full text as follows:
Woiwurrung: (woy-WUH-rung) - The language spoken by the Wurunjderi people, the traditional owners of this land.
Wominjeka: (wommin-JI-ka) - Welcome
Twaganin: (TWUH-ga-NIN) - Farewell
Kirrip: (kir-rip) - Friend
Biik: (bEEk) - Country*
Darrang: (dar-RUNG) - Tree
Narrm: (nar-rm) - The land Melbourne is on
Winmali: (WIN-muh-li) - North
Gurrin: (Gooh-RRIN) - South
Galen bariem: (GAH-len BUH-rri-em) - East
Mumilam: (MOOH-mi-lum) - West
please not that I am not Indigenous, nor do I speak Woiwurrung. I transcribed the pronunciation of these words to the best of my ability from this video by Wurundjeri woman and Woiwurrung language expert Mandy Nicholson.
* Country is the term often used by Aboriginal peoples to describe the lands, waterways and seas to which they are connected. The term contains complex ideas about law, place, custom, language, spiritual belief, cultural practice, material sustenance, family and identity. Source link: AIATSIS
end ID.]
[ID: a pinboard display for valentines day that reads “blind date with a book”. the words are made of pink and red papercut letters, and the letter ‘O’s in the word book are frilly hearts. the display is surrounded by paper cut hearts. end ID.]
[ID: a lunar new year display, centred around a paper bunny. the board is covered in traditional chinese new year decorations, including hongbao and lucky tassels. various messages around the board wish students a happy new lunar year, such as 新年快樂 (chinese), happy new year (english), 새해 복 많이 받으세요 (korean), chúc mừng năm mới! (vietnamese), and Амар байна уу? (mongolian) as these are the some of the most prominent groups of students at this school that celebrate this holiday. end ID]
hope u enjoyed!! I change the displays every week or so, so theres about ~40 other themed displays ive done that i could post if anyones interested ^_^

The Who's Who of Hipipo
("Open Image In New Tab" highly recommended!)
one of my favourite scenes in "Osomatsu-san: The Hipipo Tribe and the Glistening Fruit" was the climactic chase featuring cameos from many reoccuring and one-off characters (some of whom also appeared in the film's opening) from all three seasons of the anime - some well-known among fans of the franchise, others not so much.
in an attempt to fill in those "not so much" gaps, I proudly present a project I've been looking forward to posting for three months: a visual guide to the name and origin of every character who cameos in the climax and/or opening. see the list in text form under the cut!
