KAMP LA Day 1 Pros&Cons

This'll be a long one...

Cons (Let’s get those outta the way first)

-$50 parking?????

-Lines. For awhile there were like 6 of them cause no one knew where they were going or what they were supposed to do. I spent like half an hour w/ another fan just wandering around in different lines tryna find the right one until we did a full circle and went back to the line we were told to move from in the first place. Like why were there no signs whatsoever?? No workers stationed throughout the grounds to give instructions. Just eww.

-Maybe I was expecting too much from a company that couldn’t even get all of their booked artists to fly over but I was kinda hoping there’d be artist-specific merch or freebies. I would have even been happy with cheaply printed fake photocards :/

-P1Harmony & iKON should have had longer sets. I was a casual Piwon fan before KAMP but now I am srsly considering committing full-on. Their energy was soooo good, they have great live vocals & dancing, and every song they performed had me so hyped I totally would have wanted more. iKON. I practiced the Killing Me fanchant over and over only for them to not perform it?? I get opening with Sinosijak is basically tradition, Love Scenario is a must as the national anthem, Bling Bling was amazing, obviously gotta promote But You since it’s the newest, and I am a BDAY enthusiast but would I have preferred Killing Me, Freedom, or even Dragon? Absolutely. The set times were weird in general. T1419 was on stage for a very long time for a new group. I like them a lot but they performed like half of their discography. And Momoland seemed surprised that they were supposed to do another song. I don’t remember but I think it was Nancy that was like “oh we have another song?!” after they were ready to leave the stage. Then when iKON was on, they were tryna prolong their stage time by talking in between songs. Idk if SUJU got the amount of time they deserved but I really hope so since so many of their fans were there.

-That translator?? First of all, not 100% of my frustration goes to her since it seems like she’s not an actual translator but just a staff member of KAMP that was suddenly forced to be translator cause they probably didn’t have one. However, that still doesn't change the fact that she was...not the best. I don't speak Korean and I could still tell that she was not doing her job fully. There were moments when an artist would say like 5 sentences in Korean and the translator would be like "I'm so happy to be here, thank you". Like uhhhh I know for a fact that they said more than that and gave adequate pauses in between speaking to give room for the translator to talk. Also, asking T1419 who the best BTS impersonator is? What kind of question?? My memory is hazy, but I could have sworn there was a moment when the translator either dipped or just stopped talking, and T1419 were just trying to tough it through with their limited amount of English. I felt so bad for them, as this was their American debut and this is what they had to deal with. I noticed that besides Bobby, Jinhwan and from my memory, even Donghyuk a little bit, tried speaking more English, not relying on the translator too much as she wasn't translating everything they were saying, especially things in relation to the many mishaps going on. I also heard that one of the Super Junior members called out the translator for mistranslating what he said. I don't know if this was KAMP's weird attempt at censoring the artists' critiquing the organization, or if she just wasn't well-versed in translating – her grammar was off at times, making me wonder if she's just proficient in English and isn't actually fluent, which I am not blaming her for. But if that is the case, and the predominantly Korean-speaking artists can point out when there are flaws in the translation, then maybe KAMP should have actually had a professional translator prepared.

-I'm not elaborating on the obvious screwups of idk...half the artists not even being there and the lack of a sufficient apology and such cause idk what else I can say about that. I ended up requesting a refund for Day 2 because the artist I wanted to see most was MONSTA X, and even without them, T1419, MOMOLAND, and EPIK HIGH were up there, but I already saw T1419 and MOMOLAND on Day 1 so at that point, it just wasn't in my best interest financially to go. I think about how I at least got to see one of my ults, iKON, but a lot of people didn't even get that. I met someone in Koreatown who flew in from another state in the midwest JUST to see Kai. Like yeah, a refund is great (deserved tbh) but what about people's hotel expenses, gas costs, airfare, etc. Obviously KAMP isn't legally responsible for covering those, but on a moral front – all that money wasted because of a mistake KAMP made.

ANYWAY

Pros (Cause KAMP sucked but there people that showed up didn't)

-P1H's set was sooooooo good

-"When I say 'Kee', you say 'Ho'" and that bilingual joke. We love Keeho, bilingual king

-Oh yeah, P1H was great btw I may or may not be on my way to becoming a P1ece

-T1419 did amazing & congrats on their American debut! They seemed super nervous but for being so young they were great live performers. I'm definitely gonna keep supporting them.

-Also the collective 'ohhhhhh' from the crowd when they explained the meaning of their group name💀

-MOMOLAND has gained a new fan. Their type of music is usually not my cup of tea at all, but there's such an aesthetic appeal to the way they dance and their songs are so catchy I just loved every bit of their performance. Their stage presence is just AHH Exquisite. Also I could tell at parts they were being real sarcastic about the whole situation. The passive aggressive behavior was suuuuuper relatable and I adored it.

-iKON!!!!!!!!!! I can't even speak about it coherently yet. They were amazing. I love them. I loved them before. I love them even more now. Seeing them live is everything I imagined and more so. They didn't live up to the hype but exceeded it.

-Jinhwan shading the translator. Also him jumping as if to say "can y'all see me?" I love all 65 inches of him.

-Bobby live –– seeing one of my ult biases live –– he's (no pun intended but well deserved) iconic. Also he made us bark. I was too in awe to even process it but if my delayed processing hadn't kicked in I would have barked and chased my own ass in circles if he asked me to😩✋ Mrs. Bobby tell ur husband to leave his kinks at home

-Also Donghyuk bias-wrecked me harder than he ever has that night he was looking fine af🥵

-There was a trio of dudes that sat in my area that were just the definition of the greatest fans on the planet. They cheered so loud waving their EXO lightstick like a lasso and dancing and singing for EVERY. SINGLE. ARTIST. What class-A supporters. When Keeho said "When I say Kee, you say Ho," they said HO with their whole chest. When MOMOLAND was on, one of them screamed "I LOVE YOU NANCY" louder than I thought was humanely possible. When iKON left the stage before their encore, they started the iKON chant in my section for them to come back. The were incredibly loud and obnoxious and looked like they had a blast. I aspire to be them.

Momoland Yeonwoo x Reader

Angst and Fluff

Prompt: Fights are bound to happen in relationships, but in yours there were just too many. (AN: Inspired by Greyson Chance - Shut Up....so I literally wrote this last year and never posted it, and I know she “left” the group and all, but I still wanted to post this. I was debating whether or not to change it with someone else, but I feel like it won’t be the same.)

The last time you remembered raising your voice this high was when your mom told you no to getting candy as a child. You were furious back then, but you were still a child. Maybe you're still being a child now since you haven't changed at all. Considering how much you and Yeonwoo have been going through, you still manage to somehow end up here.

"I can never win with you can I?" She asks you, voice shaking. You don't even remember what you two were arguing about this time. It was probably over something small as usual. You were shaking your head at her clearly frustrated. As she took a step towards you to reach out her hand, you backed away from her.

"Don't touch me!" You reacted right away, and Yeonwoo grew frustrated with you.

"What else do you want me to do y/n? I'm dying over here." She looks at you with frustration written all over her face.

"Just shut up!" You yell. You were tired. Tired of the useless fighting, tired of everything that's been going on with you two. "Shut up." You say again, but you don't even know if you really mean it. This time Yeonwoo managed to get to you as she brought her arms around your neck. You were kicking yourself mentally for letting your guard down in this situation, but you retaliated anyway as you let her hug you.

"Stop. Just stop." You can hear the crack in her voice as she tries to get you to calm down. You've both been hurting each other one way or another. It always ends up with someone crying or storming out, and never coming back until the problem itself manifests into oblivion. But this time you both were tired of it all. You cared about her just as much as she cares about you and this relationship. After everything that the two of you have been through she couldn't lose you like this.

“Stop, get away from me.” You sniffled. Yeonwoo wrapped her arms tighter around you and stayed that way.

“You don’t really mean that.” She says. Her voice trembles and so does your heart. You can’t help but bring your shaking hands to her shoulders.

"I want you to shut up." You tell her, heart quavering. Yeonwoo gulps as she tries to calm you down. She’s out of options here and doesn’t want to lose you like this.

"Then make me." She was pushing it, but you did because maybe if you kissed her this problem will fix itself with the touch of each others lips. You bring yourself to her, not caring about the heated discussion, and let yourself lose self control. You kiss her as if you were desperately trying to convince yourself that everything will be okay afterwards. And Yeonwoo kisses you back because it's what she needs and what you need as well.

You don't know how it got to this point or why you let it, but you did. You let yourself get carried away, and let her pick you up by your hips as she backed you into a wall. Everything felt too fast and too messy and too everything all at once. You felt like you weren't in your right mind, but kissing her made you forget about the fight you two had a moment ago. It only last a second until it came back to you rushing in like waves. When you pull apart for air, you breathe as if your life depended on it. Your eyes are glossy from your crying earlier, and your voice is sore from yelling. Your lips taste like her afterthoughts, and now you're stretching your fingers across her collarbone. You stare anywhere but her eyes, and only focus on the small distance between your faces. It feels like it’s been forever since you were this close with each other.

“I’m sorry, okay? I’m sorry for whatever I did or said-” Yeonwoo tells you. She’s holding back her tears as she speaks, and you furrow your brows and lean your forehead against hers. You breathe in a whiff of that intoxicating scent of hers, and you find yourself capturing her lips back on yours. It felt like an impulse decision on your half, but maybe on hers as well. The two of you embrace, touch, kiss, roam, and caress all the hurt between each other.

“Everything that you are-everything that I am-” She pauses. “I love that about us. I love how we are right for each other. I love how we make things work between us. I love everything that you are, and I love myself more when I’m with you. The reason of us fighting-I don’t understand, but what I do know is that I love you. I love you y/n.” She says sincerely. Your eyes begin to water, and your heart is beating fast in your rib cage. Yeonwoo cups your face with her hands, and gently wipes away a tear that rolled down your cheek. The reason that you two were fighting-what was it again? You can’t recall as you stare back into Yeonwoo longingly and lovingly.

“I’m tired of fighting with you.” You say. Yeonwoo nods her head at you feeling the same type of way that you are.

“I know baby, I know. Me too.” She keeps brushing strands of hair out of your face while smoothing her thumb over your cheek. She reaches up the back of your neck to move your head close to her lips. With stinging eyes, she kisses your forehead and strokes your hair. With the same content, you hold onto her by her hips so she doesn’t leave you. You make sure doesn’t because you can’t bear to stand the thought of her breaking apart form you.

“Will we be okay?” You’re more afraid to ask her then you are to say it, because you’re not sure what the answer is for you two. Even Yeonwoo doesn’t know what to say. She only holds you tighter in response.

“We’ll make it work.” She says.

Nancy took a deep breath and looked into her car mirror, checking her reflection and tucking her hair back behind her ears. She’d checked what seemed like a hundred times but she couldn’t help being a little nervous. She hadn’t seen you in forever (okay, like, two or three weeks) because of your competition, and although she’d been texting and face timing you every chance she got, it still made her nerves spike to think about seeing you again. She’d never been away from you for this long, and it made her imagination go wild. Would you be happy to see her again? Would it be like the movies, where she’d run crying into your arms to welcome you home? Or would it be awkward, since it had been such a long time?

She patted her cheeks and shook her head, chasing away all the thoughts clouding her mind as she climbed out of the car and locked it behind her. The airport was right through the sliding doors leading from the parking garage to the elevators, and your plane landed in five minutes. She set her shoulders and smiling, walking with her head high. It was time to do this.

Her confidence only lasted until she got into the elevator and realized she had no idea where to go. Which floor was which? Where would you come out of the plane to get your luggage? Where should she meet you?

Slightly panicked, she stared at all the buttons before settling on pressing the one that said “luggage claim” beside it. So much for meeting you when you got off the plane....

When the doors opened, the place was packed, crowded with groups coming and going and loud speakers spouting flight times and claim lines. For a moment, she was a little overwhelmed and almost didn’t exit the doors, but then she remembered just how much she missed you and stepped out just in time. As the doors closed behind her, she looked around. What flight had you been on again? Pulling out her phone, she moved off into a corner where she wouldn’t be in anyone’s way and began to look at her messages to you, before she realized that you would be off the flight soon and that she could probably just text you.

-I’m here to pick you up by the luggage claim. Where should I meet you?

You took a moment to reply, and not to be dramatic or anything, but they were the longest moments of Nancy’s young life.

-I’m not sure yet. I think I’m at luggage claim C? But let me check. We’re just getting off the plane.

She bit her lip and looked around for claim C before her eyes widened. Of course it would be all the way across the hallway from where she was standing right now. She let out a little whine but stood away from the wall and began to make her way that way through the crowd. As she walked, she glanced up at the signs and noticed that one of them said something about a passenger pick-up, only to realize it was pointing outside. With a sigh, she continued to walk until she was at luggage claim C before once again moving out of everyone’s way once again and looking at her phone.

-Okay, I’m by claim C now. See you soon.

-I’m excited! I’ll let you know if I was wrong lol but hopefully not.

A smile made its way onto her lips as she read your text and she leaned back against the wall, pressing the phone to her heart. It was beating so fast that she figured someone might hear it if they stood close enough, and butterflies had started up in her stomach. It was weird, getting butterflies after she’d been dating you for so long. But she couldn’t complain.

Again, time dragged on. She kept searching the faces of people pouring in, hoping to catch you among them, but she was only so tall and could only see so much. Then her phone buzzed, and she looked down.

-I’m here. Where are you?

-Over by the wall. I can’t see you.

She stood on her tip-toes and moved away from the wall, turning back and forth, trying to see over the crowd, until your voice sounded from behind her, making her jump and spin around with her heart in her throat. “Hey, Nancy. I’m home.” You were grinning widely, that grin she loved so much, and she felt a little choked up, even if she knew her face wasn’t showing it.

“Welcome home, baby,” she said, smiling and standing in place for a moment, just taking in your features and realizing that you were really there before throwing her arms around you in a tight hug. “Oh my god, I’m so glad you’re back.”

You let out a laugh and hugged her back, and she breathed in your familiar smell, closing her eyes to savor this moment. “I’m glad I’m back too. I really missed you.”

“Really?” She pulled away, only slightly, face inches away from yours, and you grinned, pressing your forehead against hers.

“Really. Did you miss me?”

“Of course I did. It’s not the same without you here. No one can annoy me like you do.”

You chuckled. “If I didn’t know you so well, I’d think you were insulting me.”

“Well, then, it’s a good thing you know me. That means ‘I love you’ in Nancy language.”

“I know. And I love you too, weirdo.” She grinned at you, feeling the butterflies jumping around in her chest as you placed a little kiss on her lips. She’d been so worried and nervous over nothing. The two of you had been dating too long to feel awkward. All she felt was love and happiness, because you were finally home. “I should probably grab my luggage now, before someone steals it.”

“That’s probably a good idea,” she said, pulling away, but you grabbed her hand and pulled her over to stand beside you.

“Sorry, I don’t want to be away from you again,” you said with a sheepish grin, and she almost melted into a puddle in the floor from how cute the statement was, face flushing pink. She knew her voice would break if she said something in return, so she didn’t say anything, just smiling because she knew you’d understand how happy it made her just by looking.

Later, after you had your luggage and the two of you had fought through the crowd to get back to the elevators, you started to tell her all about your competition. Even if she knew very little about the games you played or how the competitions even worked, she liked hearing you talk about them because they made your face light up with excitement and that was just so cute. She only cut you off once the two of you had packed your luggage into the trunk and were sitting in the car, about to leave.

“Hey, babe?”

You raised your eyebrows and turned to look at her, and once again, she took the time to revel in the fact that you were really there. “Yeah?”

“Can I have a kiss?” She asked, and your face bloomed, reaching over to grab her hand.

“Well, yeah. I’ve been wanting to do that for, well, forever.” That twinkle came into your eyes, the mischievous one she recognized that you used whenever you were about to tease her about something. “Have you been waiting for this? For a kiss when I got home?”

She rolled her eyes, but leaned in closer, reaching up to playfully knock your forehead with her knuckle. “I have, but you can’t tell me that you haven’t been waiting for this too.” She was grinning, and you returned that grin, taking her other hand in yours as well and closing the gap between your lips and hers. She really had been waiting for this, and as her eyes fluttered closed, her heart did jumping jacks in her chest and her cheeks hurt from how much she’d smiled. She was happy, and the waiting had been so, so worth it.

“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t.”

Hello my lovelies...

So first things first, I know it’s been forever since I’ve updated this blog... the truth is I lost touch with both kpop and my passion for writing for a while. I got consumed with life and forgot to release myself with a creative outlet. 

However, I’ve been listening to lots more kpop, and trying to write a little bit everyday. I believe I’m finally ready to come back to this blog. It will be really nice to see you all again. However, since I have grown, a few changes have been made. So I thought I’d update you all with some new guidelines!

You let out a sigh in relief as you set down the 2 boxes in your hands. Inside the bottom box was cupcakes, the second box contained a chocolate cake with the words 'Good job honey!' It was cheesy but you knew she would love it regardless.

You opened the container and slowly lifted the cupcakes out from it and began to place them on a large plate. You grinned and began to move quicker as you realized she'd be home in only an hour. You could feel yourself becoming giddy as the minutes flew by.

You looked at your handiwork of putting the cake into place and grinned. You washed your hands quickly. After drying them you ran into your shared room, the pitter patter of your bare feet echoing throughout the empty house. Once inside the shared bedroom you began to change into your pajamas with Mickey Mouse on them. After slipping on a graphic tee you owned, you picked out Joonwoon's pajamas for her to change into.

You sprinted towards the door when you heard the sound of keys. You were met with your girlfriend giving you an odd look, her adorable features scrunched up in confusion as she saw how you were panting. Joonwoon's confusion grew tenfold as you shoved the clothes into her hands and simply said "Change!"

Joonwoon giggled as she changed into the pajamas. Her blonde hair bouncing lightly as she laughed. "Jagi, what are you doing?" You stepped in front of her to give her a quick kiss before you sprinted back to the kitchen. Joonwoon let out a short yell in frustration at being denied more kisses. She began to chase after you, ready to cuddle you for the next week.

Joonwoon stopped as she stared at the counter. You were stood in front of it in an elaborate pose which made her laugh.

"Jagi! I love it! And I love you!" Joonwoon grinned as she kissed you before grabbing a cupcake and running off, leaving you to chase after her.
