the flop of emma and snows relationship will always be so disappointing to me. i LOVE a good complex mother-daughter relationship and theirs could’ve been so amazing and entertaining but instead it was partly/almost completely pushed to the side after like … s3-4. i will always be an emma x snow lover (like im not one of those idiots who go around saying “david wanted a daughter snow wanted a baby) but i just feel like there could’ve been even MORE to their relationship

it’s very realistic that emma would not immediately jump in head first and accept the fact that she has parents now. it’s also very realistic that snow would have a hard time adjusting to having a 28 year old daughter. bc she was cursed. to her, emma was a baby one day, and the next, she was a grown woman with a child of her own. and also… a grown woman that was literally her best friend and roommate. it’s a tough pill to swallow. she is still also obviously devastated that she had to give up her child to save her life, she needed to heal from that. it’s clear in the way she treats baby neal that she is very traumatized. this was just ANOTHER plot that ouat scooted past bc apparently ouat characters do not need to process their emotions!!

i don’t even think snow is the one who pushed emma to the side once neal was born. i think that was a fault of the writers. they kinda just decided that all was dandy between emma and her parents and stopped giving us scenes about them except for a few that weren’t nearly complex enough, which sucked bc i would’ve been happy if the three of them stayed a huge central plot point for all six seasons.

LIKE SEASON FIVE??? THAT SHOULD’VE BEEN SOOOO MUCH EMMA X HER PARENTS!!! how is it possible that dark swan barely even INTERACTED with them…

i could go on and on but im gonna stfu now!!!!

Isabella & Ray

Opinion,headcanons,recommendation.

Even though I like them so much, it's hard for me to talk when it comes to them, I really don't know where to start (⁠๑⁠•⁠﹏⁠•⁠)...

In every anime I watch ( There aren't many either lol), there's always a mother-child relationship that might affect or contribute little to the story's plot. However, that relationship in those stories is not shown as deeply as I mostly like, which leaves me rating them 50/50—they're not bad, but they're not that great either. This is where Isabella and Ray stand out as the only biologically related mother-son characters that truly fulfill and surpass my expectations, even after TPN has ended.

They have the most complete dynamic I've seen so far. Their ways of thinking and their actions somehow complement yet heavily contrast each other’s personalities. That is simply so entertaining and amazing because not many characters are written that way. And if they are, personally, they don’t impact me as much or become one of the best references like Isa and Ray are for me.

Between them, major themes like manipulation and emotional control are explored, tied to their characteristic lies—one after another—all for their individual benefit and interest. For me, this is what adds to the characteristic complexity of both characters, what hinders their own relationship so much, and what makes it impossible for them to accept each other in such a way. Though I feel this more from Ray than from Isa—I think she is at least slightly more subtle in that aspect, and that’s exactly what defines her for me.

I think my favorite interaction between them is when Isabella exposes Ray as the lying traitor he was. The tension falls like cold water—Ray is trapped, and that scene shows that Isabella is not so easy to deceive, not when she does the same thing. That is, you can’t lie to a liar (I think that’s a phrase she could shamelessly say, aaaaggg).

Their ending simply hit me so hard. When Ray convinces her to go to the human world, it makes it clear that even he—the boy most hurt by Isabella—had genuinely forgiven her. That gave me so much hope… But then I read a note from the creator (Kaiu Shiraii) about Isabella’s death. At one point, he said that Isabella was stubborn with herself and couldn't allow herself to live with her children because of the weight of her sin. It’s clear that Isa never forgave herself. He emphasized—this is the part that hurts me the most—that living with Ray would be too much, almost unbearable for her. And if I think about it a bit, there's some truth to it:

Isabella was a curse to Ray for 12 years. That is so heavy…

That makes their final interaction heartbreaking, really. If Isa had been able to forgive herself the way Ray forgave her, I swear they could have been so happy together (let me dream!!!).

Going back to the beginning, they definitely impact me, and the fact that they are mother and son simply marks my entire being. Honestly, I don’t know how else to say it—I’m enchanted by them. They are the second-best thing in the story; the first is Emma 🥰🧡 hajsgs.

They're not deep, they're not much either just a couple, my favorites!! And just fluff because they heal me, and imagining scenarios that suit them and are wholesome is simply comforting.

🦋;; When Ray was a baby, Isabella loved holding him and slowly rocking him in her arms while humming Leslie’s song. Having him like that with her was a temporary comfort, a small escape from the reality she lived in—the closest thing to fulfilling her wish of being a loving mother.

🦋;; Ray’s first steps were to reach Isabella: imagine baby Ray on the floor with baby Norman and Emma. While they’re playing with their toys, Ray sees Isabella a little distance away, talking to an older child. Wanting to be with her, he crawls in her direction. Then, midway, with some difficulty, Ray manages to stand up on his tiny legs. Shakily, with hesitant, small steps, he begins to walk but falls. Still, he gets back up, and when he looks up, Isabella is sitting on her legs, waiting for him with open arms and lovingly encouraging him to keep going. Ray advances, calling her, arms outstretched, until he finally reaches her. Before he can fall again, Isabella picks him up with affection, genuinely happy to have witnessed his first steps. (Oh- omg- my shayla😭🖤)

2023 Guardians run might be worst guardians run.

The Bendis run only outdoes it in terms of going for so long, but if you compare 2023 Guardians to the first arc of the Bendis run then the Bendis run comes out as the better run.

I would even say that the last Bendis Guardians arc probably reds better than the 2023 run but I am not a masochist to go and read it again.

The 40 x Poppy Playtime (Epilogue)

What!? You didn't think I'd also be uploading the epilogue fancomic of The 40 x Poppy Playtime on the same day as well?

Sorry, but I'm not dragging this out.

For everyone who is up to date on the Poppy Playtime games and lore, the Prototype wouldn't be the only toy operating on his own, as he's got the backing of Kobayashi and some of the members of The 40 to destroying Playtime Co. from within, and taking care of the more logistics problems once they purge the corrupt and dangerous employees of Playtime Co. (i.e. Leith Pierre and Dr. Harley Sawyer).

Yet, despite having assistance with his plans, things still happen as a result of "canon events". For example, Theodore Grambell still gets electrocuted to near death and ends up being transformed into CapNap.

Also, the "Hour of Joy" still happens but is much different than the indiscriminate slaughter from canon, and everyone sans Poppy (of course) participates in it of their own free (instead of the Prototype simply puppeteering them as implied in canon) will thanks to the trust they have for the Kobayashi and the members of The 40 with her.

By the time of the game (i.e. ten years after the Hour of Joy), Emma and the other members of The 40 had gotten a letter to come to the now-rundown Playtime Co. factory. As they transverse through the now-rundown factory, they still encounter Huggy Wuggy and Mommy Long Legs, but instead of truly life-threatening some of them start to believe that they're being tested for some reason. Then, Emma and the 40 members that accompanied her are trying to figure out the mystery of what explicitly Kobayashi and the others are doing during their time at the Playtime Co. factory.

Especially upon getting a glimpse of Kobayashi's lower body fused to the Prototype as they appear from the lit ceiling vent after defeating CatNap.
