Here's what I've gathered from my vague thirdhand interactions with Splatoon so far:

-There are squidlings, they're kids, and they're squids, and they have fun paint ink wars and a cheery urban style!

-There are octolings? They're kids who are octopuses instead, but otherwise basically same deal.

-The squidlings and octolings used to be in conflict with each other in the earlier games? But not anymore maybe? As of Splatoon 3 both are playable, whereas Splatoon 1 just had the squidlings

-There are also idols and stuff who put on shows and events in the hub area ^^

-There's also james bond-style secret agents or something? With their own code numbers and stuff. But I haven't for the life of me been able to parse out any specifics, despite the vast bulk of the splatoon content on my dash being about them.

-AND THEN THERE'S BIG RUN

-This is some biblical-tier apocalypse stuff; armies of Salmonid monsters rise from the sea, trying to conquer or just wipe out all life on land, and must attempt to be repelled by force. Same mechanics as the regular paint wars, but with much much bigger stakes. Judging by the blood-red-skies, terrifying ambient sounds and music, and the increasingly nightmarish kaiju the salmon cultists(?) summon to help them... The squidlings and octolings are losing. Badly.

-Also there's a new DLC for later in the year that going by the trailer, is just plain straight-up silent hill-esque cereberal horror, and uses imagery from radiation waste warning architecture?

-Remember when this was about fun urban paint battles? O_O;

I feel like no one talks enough about how one of the Curious Cat's FIRST questions to Ruby is "What is your favorite dessert?"

I don't know about YOU GUYS but my brain has not been able to rest since hearing that because everyone knows that Ruby's favorite dessert is chocolate chip cookies. It's a staple fact at this point in RWBY.

But the reason WHY also won't let me rest because my mind also just immediately went to the scene in volume two where Yang is describing her mom as "Slayer of giant monsters and baker of chocolate chip cookies." And we all know which mom she was talking about.

This literally primed my brain into thinking "Oh, so we're getting Ruby missing and coming to terms with her mom's death angst this season. Great 🫠🫠"

But then THE AXE came into the picture, Ruby giving away her mom's emblem which carries a mother's promise, and the reflection in Ruby's mirror wall thing in episode 6...this is literally the most Summer has ever been mentioned (directly or indirectly) throughout the ENTIRE series and it really makes me wonder WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY GOING TO DO AND AM I EVEN READY?!

ok so like does anyone else have the rational fear that

someone's gonna come along and mention/post/recommend/rant about their fic on tiktok or some other social media? Mostly tiktok, but I suppose there are other possibilities.

Like, I don't want random people from tiktok coming to read my stuff. I certainly don't want to ever get the attention of anyone associated with the production of these shows -- especially the actors, God forbid.

Like, oh my gosh the prospect of "blowing up" for fanart is so appealing -- like, my eyes *light up* you know what I mean -- but the thought of someone mentioning my fanfic on any other website gives me a cold sweat and heart palpitations
