MEEEEEE I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT LISSY AND MOIRAS RELATIONSHIP

Ok so
Feloira. Moiicity, if you will.
Do I think it's the greatest ship I've ever made? No. Do I like it anyway? Yea....
It's not permanent, and I think they'd break up right before her dad dies. Technically right before she goes to help her dad rebuild project purity. But it wouldn't be anything but amicable, just a sort of, "hey I don't know if this will work very well, my emotional load just changed a lot and I don't want to dump anything on you about it" or like. They never actually got together and just kinda flirted and stuff.
Felicity is NOTORIOUSLY bad at realizing she's flirting. Girly is like, "lol I love my stupid jokes" and then later is like, "OH WAIT--" see also: Burke ajdndnjxjf
Felicity gets VERY attached to Moira because she's one of the only people who's genuine with Lissy. Or at least 70x less unfriendly than half the residents.
Lissy went through the survival guide using the charisma options. While yes, it's mostly in-game like, "omg I had to talk my way out of all this", I THINK LISSY'D BE FLIRTING THERE. Knowingly flirting, no less.
Yes, this probably all starts as Felicity misunderstanding Moira just being nice, but like. Girly crushes HARDDDD.
There's a lot of physical closeness between them, especially since Moira's teaching her how to use both her inventions and also general technical stuff. They're sitting next to each other in front of a frag mine so Lissy can learn how to disarm them before going to the minefield in the part I'm writing rn. Lots of hugging and shared excitement. Lissy looooves making people happy (she plays a lot with the mini-boomers in 2281 and spends waay too much time being a chronic people pleaser. This is definitely not a coping mechanism in response to being targeted by half the vault in her youth noooo...)
Anyways, I think Felicity probably kisses Moira approximately once, and that's after the guide gets finished, and they never speak of it again. But they think about it....
I also think Moira reminds Felicity A LOT of Amata. In appearance, if nothing else. They get along really well, and Felicity's kind of like. Stuck in like. Internalized homophobia. She's a little desperate to express her attraction to women and whelp. Here's the first one she meets and gets along with.
Is it very healthy? Ehhh. It could be a LOT worse **COUGH COUGH BENITHY** but like... It's not exactly very two-sided? It's more of Felicity having a massive crush on Moira and Moira being unaware for the most part. But I think they're interesting...
They come away from all of it with a VERY solid and strong friendship, and that's a Good Thing in my opinion.
#azure made a post#fallout 3#moira brown#fo3 oc: felicity#lissy has such... strange romantic exploits.#moira and her are very cute to me but they dont really work out in the end.#mostly cause she REALLY shuts down after her dad dies and kinda clings to Butch as like “this is normal this is the same” ig?#im VERY excited to write trouble on the homefront... ohh the angst will be lovely......#idk how long that quest is canonically supposed to take but lissy spends at least two days in 101#anyway........

My favorite part of Fallout 3 has to be that if Sheriff / Mayor of Megaton Lucas Sims dies (I didn't kill him; Burke did), his 11 year old son Harden just...inherits his role.
He's 11 and he lives in that house all alone, and waits for you to disable the Bomb so he can give you the keys to the Player House, and tell you how Moira can help you decorate it.
His father was murdered by a weird lunatic, and everyone in town is like "huh...that was interesting," and they just ignore his son. Who begrudgingly starts acting like their sheriff / mayor.
This dialogue is voiced! They wrote it like this! They programmed this so his dad could die, and their only plan to keep the Megaton quest going was, "maybe this small traumatized child can just fill in."
Amazing, Todd.
Of course this is the same game where all the 15 year olds forced to migrate to Big Town by swearing, armed 8 year olds slowly get picked off by constant Super Mutant attacks.

lone wanderer oc vs courier six oc
lore down below, if youre interested:
so im on unoriginal bitch but my lone wanderer and courier six are one person, CourierSix!Fall being 29 years old (i am following the canon timeline of the game as well as the age of the player character, so LW!Fall is 19 when she left the vault)
her lore is based on my first playthrough of the 3d fallout games (my Sole Survivor is related to Fall, being a distant, distant, DISTANT relative 200 years up in the family tree), so here's a rundown.
LW!Fall takes after her father, being studious and looking up to him. she grows up to be smart and was slated to be the next vault doctor under her father's guidance when the events of the start of fallout 3 happen. thrust out into the unforgiving wasteland and forced to learn so much in such a short time, she meets burke in megaton and, after trying so hard to keep her cool with moira and her endless perilous errands, LW!Fall rigs the atomic bomb in the heart of the small town to explode. she blew it up due to burke's offer as well but shh
shes proficient with energy weapons and is surprisingly agile for someone who's led a barely active lifestyle the past 19 years in a vault, sticking to the books and all. she's traipsing between good and evil morals that both the regulators and the talon company constantly jump at bounties put on her head because she can really just flip the switch between being an angel solving all your problems and overall someone you could rely when you need to know something/get something done, to downright apathetic trigger-happy marksman who can clear the entire room in seconds (GRIM REAPER'S SPRINT BABY).
storyline follows the game, as usual, she finds her dad, helps him with the project, everything goes downhill, LW!Fall meets President Eden and fucking short circuits the AI in their first meeting and runs out of the Enclave HQ as its destroying itself as payback for General Autumn killing James after LW!Fall swore she was going to kill the man and made sure he heard it. then she finishes project purity, elects to contain the radiation in the heart of the purifier rather than sentinel lyons, gets radiation poisoning and is saved by the brotherhood, goes to the pitt, kicks ashur's ass and takes the baby for the greater good yada yada.
being an honorary member of the brotherhood and with things looking up for the DC area, LW!Fall really has nothing else to do other than to wait for her to be called on by the Brotherhood for guidance or special missions. there's nothing really left for her there since her dad is already dead and both the organization and the man who killed him are dead. on top of that, she feels EXTREMELY guilty about what she did to megaton, though she never told anyone else she did it other than James who sussed her out from the start.
she left for the Mojave, starting over and working as a courier, where life is quiet and she never had to pick up a gun ever again, though clean water is hard to find, but she gets by.
then the events of new vegas happens and thus starts Fall's emergence to be Courier Six. albeit this time, with experience from her Lone Wanderer days, she's a calmer, more rational, still trigger-happy but at least the energy is now focused on using it for the greater good, loves hacking terminals and snooping around, learning about the old world more and more, being chill with yes man and actually talking it out with people rather than shooting first.
tl;dr: local retired vaultie just wanted to rest only to get bopped in the head. proceeds to let the mojave find out that the person who changed DC has been with them for the past 10 years

First time I booted up a Fallout game was Fallout 3 with all the DLCs, and because I’m a contrarian ass who never does the main quest first I decided to ditch the whole “find dad” thing and went to help some “outcasts” instead.
So I was a fresh-faced kid from the vault when I dropped into the “Operation: Anchorage” DLC. A diegetic, in-universe propaganda engine/ military combat training simulator. Which, incidentally, awards you with some very good weapons and armor upon completion.
Armor like the Stealth Suit, which allowed you to become invisible at-will.
Weapons like the Gauss Rifle, a massive rifle with guaranteed ragdoll knockback.
So by the time I meet Moira, I am not a wide-eyed innocent fresh from the vault: I am a glassy-eyed engine of death. Courtesy of Vault-Tec and Uncle Sam’s very best propaganda technology, I am now ready and able to destroy America’s enemies with extreme prejudice.
Megaton does not fly an American flag.
I accept Burke’s proposal, arm the nuke, and slaughter every man and woman (but no children, damn you Bethesda). I trot off to Tenpenny Tower.
I enjoy a meticulously rendered cinematic as Megaton is wiped off the map. Alastair Tenpenny congratulates me on my vision and offers me my suite in Tenpenny Tower. However, I have no interest in a paltry room in a derelict tower; I am Uncle Sam’s red right hand, and Tenpenny Tower does not fly an American flag. I slaughter the human residents of Tenpenny Tower and allow the ghouls entrance. They, too, like fools, raise no flag.
I am the product of Vault-Tec and Uncle Sam.
I kick around in the northwest corner of the map for a bit, hunting Death Claw and getting bored.
And then I headed for Galaxy News Radio. To help them fix their dish and find my dad.
Playing through Fallout:New Vegas for the first time in years. And I'm developing a newfound appreciation for the damage done to the intended pacing of the narrative with the addition of the Courier's Stash. I wake up in Goodsprings, and as part of the extended tutorial you have Ghosttown Gunfight, the fairly self-contained faction war between Goodsprings and the Powder Gangers. And the design intent, I think, is that this is probably supposed to be a pain in the ass, with only one or two avenues of support available to you given the low level at which you'll pick this one up. Six Powder Gangers, some in body-armor, would be a serious threat, and committing to fighting against that with your dinky 9mm and a varmint rifle seems like a rough time! An actual uphill battle, doing the right thing instead of the easy thing. Fortunately, Benny inexplicably left my handy 40mm grenade launcher in the grave with me, so I cleaned up.
I'm working my way south, and, you know, in a version of the game where Benny didn't inexplicably leave my handy 40mm grenade launcher in the grave with me, this would have been the knock-on effect of my "good" Karmic choice in defending Goodsprings; the road south is littered with powder gangers who'd have been neutral had I not kicked the hornet's nest. As it stands? Free experience. I hit Primm, and fighting through the cramped hallways of the Bison Steve I encounter an enemy armed with what was clearly supposed to be the first heavy weapon I'd encounter in the world. Tight Corridors. Inexplicable Grenade Launcher. I clean up. South I go to the Mojave outpost, Nipton, that whole thing. And clearly, clearly you aren't meant to take a swing at Vulpes here, right? You're supposed to take it in, get a sense for the legion. In the version of the game that shipped you're supposed to get bodied if you try to kick the beef gate here. There are allowances in the game for if you pull it off, sure, but I did try with just the service rifle, without the glorious first-strike capabilities afforded to me by the 40mm grenade launcher that Benny inexplicably left in the grave with me. It didn't go very well!
So now I'm dogged by Legion hit squads on my way to Novac, which I get the distinct impression was not the point in the game at which this was supposed to start happening to me, because I am gathering up some pretty expensive equipment, all sold for space. I punch through to Vegas, and at this stage, the clear developer intent is that you need to spend some time milling around Freeside or Camp McCarran in order to gain access to the Strip- do odd jobs to scrape up the money, buy the forgery from Mick and Ralphs, gain monorail access, get your science skill high enough to hack the robot. Get the lay of the land, get a feel for the people, send some time stewing in the human cost of House's walled garden before you head in and hear the pitch from the big man himself.
Except I've got 5000 caps from selling off all the legion killteam equipment. In I go!
And the fun thing is, right, the Courier's stash can't be diegetic, but it is having a very direct impact on the world here. A top legion guy just went down to my inexplicable 40mm grenade launcher. Whatever else I'm roleplaying as, I am roleplaying as a guy who woke up in the possession of an inexplicable 40mm grenade launcher, and neither I nor my character can plausibly ignore that fact given its terrible bloodstained utility. I play a man, a man who would be a good man, a man nonetheless bewitched by the terrible resolutory power of the grenade launcher. My best friend, the inexplicable 40mm grenade launcher! My worst enemy, the inexplicable 40mm grenade launcher!

S: 6 P: 5 E: 4 C: 8 I: 8 A: 5 L: 3
Chevron Lace Merris first heard the divine voice of Atom when she was sixteen years old, and the divine split has guided her ever since. A woman who has seen glimpses of the future [or who got sent back in time after getting Bad Ended in a previous timeline] where her twin brother was the one who left Vault 101--and failed to save the world, and who wlil now save the world herself.
If she can get through a conversation without being convinced tha the person she's talking to is interrogating her for Soviet China, that is.
Already hanging on by a thread after her father died, when Chevron returned to Vault 101 to help her home--and was then turned away by not just Amata, but the same brother that Chevron had originally left Vault 101 to save--Chevron finally left behind all good sense. After procuring the G.E.C.K and escaping Raven's Rock, Chevron returned to Megaton one last time, and--after a brief conversation with Mr. Burke--Chevron detonated the bomb in an effort to get 'revenge' on Moira Brown.
You would not believe how pissed Chevron was when she saw the ghoulified Moira Brown after Chevron had already disposed of the Blasphemous Eden's rejection of Atom.
#.din#fallout oc#lone wanderer#yes. i will in fact do this for my other lone wanderer and my couriers. thanks.

Thank you! That was my first playthrough experience haha. I was hating megaton! Had no caps to do anything, no stuff, crippled! But I didn't even see Mr Burke waving in the corner. I think I had to become moira's guinea pig for money lol.
A let's player I watch made the point that people are confused why you'd detonate the bomb and it's like, duh, because you get paid!!
For my LW, Talia, she pretty much did it for survival. She was not ingratiating herself very well with Simms, covered in blood with attitude and no money and just kept putting her foot in her mouth. I wrote him a little haughty so she didn't really like him either, only that was short sighted considering her predicament.
Mr Burke was kind and charming, and he made her feel better about the murders under her belt on her way out of the vault. But he also chatted her into a corner. By that point she knew too much and he was threatening her if she tried to turn him down or turn him in.
Hello! Could you drop a little info about your lone wanderer Grace? I've seen you post she detonated the nuke and lives in tenpenny tower. I haven't seen this much for people's ocs, and my LW also did this. Interested in how it went down for your LW!
Thanks 🤗
thank u for asking me abt grace !! she is my special babygirl. my beautiful princess. also you’re RIGHT i actually haven’t seen a lot of tenpenny tower line wanderers either
long story short, grace blew up the town because she was desperate. grace didn’t pick anything up on the way out of the vault (the out-of-universe explanation for this was that i kind of forgot i was supposed to grab stuff and was kind of operating on, oh shit these people are trying to kill me, i should run out of the vault as fast as i can. grace thought the same way), so when she got to megaton, she was limping, on <25% hp, and had minor radiation sickness.
lucas simms offers 100 caps to fix the bomb at the center of megaton. to sleep at moriarty’s costs 110, and even that’s just a room. grace fails the speech check to negotiate for more.
leaving moriarty’s saloon on her way to gnr, grace runs into mr burke, and he’s charming, and genuinely nice to her, and if she just rigs the bomb to explode, she gets 1000 caps to her name, which to someone just out of the vault (and for a player at level 2 in the tutorial part of the game) feels like a fortune. rigging the bomb to explode is morally reprehensible but it’s easy, so easy, if she does that, she’s practically safe forever. so grace blows up the town, because in her mind it’s not even a choice.

Things in chapter 4 I'm excited about:
Minefield
Showcasing the regenerative healing
Explosions
Felicity having the world's worst crush on Moira
The Arkansas interaction
DOGMEAT!!
Things I am not excited about in chapter 4
Burke
The world's worst non-smut, sort of implied? sex scene that I didn't write any detail about and also Felicity spend the whole actually doin' it thinkin' about Amata. Because I said so. I might edit it for clarity if I have to, but I'm. Not gonna write smut in chapter 4 and CERTAINLY not for BURKE.

Fallout Opinion Survey- Results!
Thank you so much to all those who took part! We had 421 usable responses in total :D
One quick note- the nature of the data this time around means that most of the auto-generated charts are usable as they are, which does mean this post will be very image-heavy. I’d be very appreciative if someone who knows how to write image descriptions for charts could add them on!
Without further ado, let’s get into the results...
The Basics:
Favourite DLC:
Dead Money- 115 (...nice) Old World Blues- 94 Far Harbor- 76 Lonesome Road- 53 Nuka World- 27 Point Lookout- 17 Honest Hearts- 11 The Pitt- 9 Mothership Zeta- 7 Automatron- 3 Operation Anchorage- 3 Broken Steel- 2 Vault-Tec Workshop- 1
Favourite faction:
Followers of the Apocalypse- 146 Railroad- 62 Minutemen- 45 NCR- 23 Kings- 22 Brotherhood of Steel (all chapters combined)- 20 Yes Man/Wildcard Courier- 18 Great Khans- 14 Enclave- 10 Caesar's Legion- 8 Raiders (76, Nuka World and general combined)- 8 Institute- 6 Chairmen- 5 Unity- 4 Atom Cats- 3 Mr House- 3 Boomers- 3 Freeside- 2 Responders- 2 Children of Atom- 2 Ghoul settlements in general- 2 Hubologists- 2 Tunnel Snakes- 2 And the list of those with one vote each: The Family, Think Tank, Reaver Movement, Ciphers, Broken Hills, Powder Gangers, Reilly's Rangers, Acadia, Goodneighbor, Underworld, White Glove Society, Omertas, Jacobstown, post-Legion Ulysses, Cult of the Mothman, 80s, and talking Deathclaws from Fallout 2

-
The Lore:
(other titles specifically mentioned in the final question: Metro and Doom)
Characters headcanoned as synths: The Sole Survivor (by far the most common theory), Sturges, Deacon, Preston Garvey, the Lone Wanderer in Broken Steel, James/Dad, Dogmeat, Three Dog, Parker Quinn, Charon, Courier Six, Tinker Tom, Zeke, Arthur Maxson, Father/older Shaun, Piper, Travis Miles, Mysterious Stranger, Caesar ('cause funny'), Joshua Graham, most Children of Atom, Desdemona, Myrna, Marcy Long, Mr Burke, Vault 76 Overseer, Trashcan Carla, Cricket, many BoS and Enclave members, Reaver Movement members, Redeye, Moira Brown, Dr Zimmer, Ranger Ghost, most birds, Arcade Gannon, Elijah, Lizzie Wyatt, Kellogg, Mama Murphy, Nat Wright, and Sierra Petrovita
(please note I'm not all that familiar with Fallout 4 lore, if any of the FO4 peeps here are canon synths then I didn't know about it lol)
Fan theories/headcanons from the final question that cropped up repeatedly (in approximate order of popularity):
Vault-Tec started the Great War
Alien involvement with the pre-war US government and/or the Great War
Horses are still around
Talking Deathclaws are still around
Occult/eldritch influence (e.g. the Dunwich building) is widespread
Charon is a survivor of Vault 92
Deacon is a founder of the Railroad and his 'real' backstory was another lie
Veronica and Christine reunite
Sarah Lyons is alive
Gen 3 synths and ghouls still need to eat, drink, sleep and so on
Ghouls only turn feral in specific circumstances (suggestions include prolonged isolation and relying too heavily on radiation instead of food as a source of energy) and it is not inevitable
International travel and immigration continues
Danse and Harkness were sent to the Capital Wasteland by the Railroad together
X person is actually multiple people- suggested for Deacon, Legate Lanius and Vulpes Inculta
The US is the either the only place that was nuked or the only place that hasn't rebuilt and recovered, and the rest of the world is just ignoring them and carrying on as normal
Cass is the Chosen One's daughter
Mama Murphy is the Chosen One
No-Bark Noonan is the Chosen One (lots of Chosen One theories popping up lol)
All subsequent Dogmeats in the series are named after the legend of the original Dogmeat
Father is not really Shaun
MacCready is lying about Duncan being ill (or one person even suggested Duncan existing)
Yes Man overthrows the Courier after being upgraded
The real Lone Wanderer died at the end of the vanilla game even if Broken Steel is installed, and the Broken Steel LW is a synth
Deacon once worked for the Institute
Deacon deliberately leads people to theorise that he is the Lone Wanderer to throw them off
Deacon is or was once a ghoul (also plenty of Deacon theories)
The Mysterious Stranger is a time traveller who protects the various PCs to maintain the timeline
Appalachia was turned into a barren wasteland by the nuclear trigger-happiness of the Vault 76 Dwellers (possibly interesting aside: my brother, who buys into this one, has gone as far as to theorise that the original Great War used very low-yield weapons and wasn't that severe on the environmental level (as far as literal nuclear war goes, that is), and it was the Vault 76ers nuking the hell out of Appalachia that triggered a continent-wide nuclear winter and sent the ecology of the wasteland into the state it's in in all subsequent games)
Glory is not a synth
The (in-game) reason for lore clashes and retcons is that the plot of each game is a retelling of the story as it's passed around in the wasteland, so some details have been embellished or mixed up
I’ll be coming back to the theories from the final question at some point, but aside from that, that's a wrap! There isn't really much potential for me to play around with the data here like with the OC surveys, so this was more just me presenting the data as it came in without commentary. Still, I hope this is somehow interesting/insightful!
#fallout#survey#this was a bit all over the place lol#but as I said there's not much actual analysis I can do with this data

TW: 9/11
You know what? Fuck it, we are getting emotional today, I will allow myself this day to pour out my heart in genuine.
You want to call yourself an American for raiding the capital on January 6th of this year? You are wrong. You are no American. You are the farthest thing from it.
You want to see real Americans? Here are a few.
-Todd Beamer, gave his life trying to take back control of flight 93 on September 11th, 2001. Credited with saving the US Capitol, last heard words were “let’s roll”.
-Billy Burke, a firefighter who stayed with stranded civilians in the North Tower of the World Trade Center, knew the tower would collapse and chose to stay, telling a younger firefighter to leave. Joey on “Friends” wore a shirt bearing his name.
-Moira Smith, a police officer who died in the attacks, she was last seen leading people from the second tower. She was awarded the NYPD’s Medal of Honor after her death. Media described her as having “the face of an angel and the heart of a lion”. One of the first to report the attacks.
-Benjamin Clark, a chef who made sure people made it to safety from the 96th floor. He stayed to help a person in a wheelchair, and died when the building collapsed.
-Danny Lewin, a special forces veteran who perished trying to single handedly stop the hijacking of flight 11.
-Leonard Hatton, was on his way to work when he saw smoke, immediately made his way to the towers to help firefighters in the evacuation efforts.
-William Rodriguez, was in the North Tower and had a key to all emergency exits. He is credited with leading firefighters up the stairs and unlocking all emergency exits, saving countless lives.
-Welles Crowther, a former volunteer firefighter who perished entering the building once more before it collapsed, saved as many as 18 lives.
-Rick Rescorla, saved 2,687 Morgan Stanley employees, and 207 office visitors, safely leading them outside before going back in to save more.
-Thomas Burnett, also aboard flight 93, also helped try to regain control of the plane. His efforts, along with those of Todd Beamer, helped keep the plane from reaching its intended target: the US Capitol or the White House.
-Officer John W. Perry, a police officer who was about to retire. Upon hearing of the attacks, he ran straight to the towers, helped a woman who had fainted before running into the South Tower. The tower collapsed soon after.
-Ronald Bucca, found after the destruction. It is believed that he placed his coat around several civilians in order to protect them, it was found still wrapped around them later.
-Jason Thomas and Dave Karnes, two marines who rushed to the scene shortly after the attack to help find survivors, neither knew the other prior to the event but both are credited with helping save two Port Authority police officers, trapped below the rubble.
-rescue dogs, man’s best friend were used to help locate survivors and those who perished. Just like their human counterparts, these canines were exposed to extremely hazardous conditions. Without them, who knows how many more lives would have been lost.
-Chaplain Mychal Judge, a Catholic priest working for the fire department. Died comforting others.
These people, living and gone, are true Americans.
True Americans can come from any background, any country, and vary from each other in so many aspects. But they all share the same qualities.
Real, true Americans possess courage, hearts of lions. True Americans possess compassion, helping others in their darkest hour. True Americans value their fellow countrymen and countrywomen. They are willing to charge valiantly into the fire to save their brothers and sisters, and are maybe even willing to die for it. They are always prepared to rise to the challenge, they are prepared to serve no matter what manner that may come in. No matter where or when, they will come with willing hearts and determined, kind and courageous souls. These people embody the American spirit more than anything, as well as all of the other heroes of the September 11th attacks who remain nameless.
They are true patriots. They are true Americans. They are our heroes, or at least, they for certain are mine.
Their bravery, their sacrifice, will never be forgotten.
