Some days are better than others of course, but sometimes the bad days feel like bad weeks or even months. When all of the things I’m passionate about collide and rather than choosing one at a time to see through until the end, I throw in the towel on all of them and choose indifference over introspect. And it’s this colossal clash of creative fervor and the apathy around satisfying my own desires that drive me to want to do nothing more than just jump off the grid indefinitely. To vanish not only from all who I fear I’ll disappoint, but from the one person who often seems to be the most disappointed of all…myself. This pivotal point of having to decide what it is I want most in life can be so exhausting, but I’m gradually starting to accept its place in my own coming of age and how crucial it is that I feed my inspirations and ideas rather than banish them altogether to avoid any possibility of failure or rejection. This process may be slow to evolve within me but now that I’ve accepted that my insecurities about what I give to my life should be stepping stones and not barriers, I am hopeful that these next few years will be the years of a new me. A me who has come into her own way. Into her own marvelous and magical world.
