there's so many things to love about love and deepspace but i think overall my absolute favorite aspect of it is just HOW MUCH of the game is tailored to YOU and YOUR tastes:

-i HATED the sounds of the english voices and if that were my only option, i wouldn't have bothered but not only do you have the option to hear them speak english, they can speak chinese, japanese and korean too. anyone that knows me knows my obsession with japanese voice acting and two of my all time faves just so happen to be voicing my two in game faves! you can read it in those languages as well. anytime im given the option to play a game in a different language, i leap.

-mc is fairly customizable. she's long and slender which doesn't fit my description but i'm so used to that in these games and (i'm so old- i dont have the energy to give toward caring about shit like this) but you can modify her face, hair (more so in photobooth) and skin. and that last bit was kinda huge to me bc not only did they include darker skin tones, they looked GOOD. there's not alot of range, no, but i'm so used to the vaguely dark skin being alittle ashy options in games (especially ones made by asian companies) that this was like a massive breath of fresh air.

-you have a storyline- well now there's two from what i understand and although you can't control who you interact with in-story, you can choose how much you interact with them outside of the story. i cannot stand rafayel- and i forget the other's name atm but i dont like him much either. i hate to see either of them coming tbh and so the fact that i'm able to CHOOSE to spend my free time with zayne/rei instead (and now sylus/shin) AHHH wonderful! like you can set it to have only the ones YOU want to interact with greet you in the cafe.

-if i didn't state this clearly enough, YOU CAN CHOOSE WHO YOU WANT TO FOCUS ON!! like, yeah, sometimes you'll do stuff where you still build your intimacy with a character you may not care for but it may not be alot.

-you can choose what they wear. you can choose what you wear (this is limited but still an option).

-you can even customize your phone and most of it is interactive! they react to your changing the text bubbles. you can suggest them changing their pfp and they either agree or reject you with little quips of their own. you can change the bg of your chat with them. you can nickname them in your phone which shows up anytime they text or call. even their online profiles! you can even give them a nickname to call you!

-i got tired of the opening theme song. like, i borderline hated it and GUESS WHAT?? I COULD CHANGE IT! (with an aurum pass) and when shin got introduced they added him to the front of the original intro where it's all light and white and brightness but it's him and darkness and red and blood and the transition was jarring and not appealing to me whatsoever and guess what??? I COULD CHANGE THAT TOO!!! so now, currently my game's welcome page is now rei working quietly to the tune of soft piano. sooooo lovely. i'll switch to shin from time to time :)

brokeback (pt. 3)

something doesn't feel right to Ian.

a month has passed since you started staying in the Gallagher house, and it's basically your home now. you hang with Ian and make sure he's taking care of himself. you look after Liam. you talk to Debbie and help her out with her teenage girl problems to the best of your adult man capabilities. you try and keep carl from being arrested as much as possible. and as long as you're helping out, Fiona is a fan of yours.

so, all is well. except, Ian can't quite place what's going on with Lip. he's both acting distant and happier than Ian's seen him in months. to make things stranger, the apparent negative tension between you two has resolved, but he still hasn't caught you exchanging more than 2 words to eachother a day.

a couple nights the previous week, Ian awoke in the middle of the night and looked over to find your makeshift bed empty. which wouldn't be a big deal, if it hadn't happened several times, and if you hadn't not returned until Ian woke up the next morning. still, he doesn't read too deeply into it. maybe you fell asleep downstairs or decided to start going on midnight runs. he didn't know and was too tired to care, frankly. besides, you had always returned by the time he'd woken up

until, one morning he wakes up and you aren't there, and by the looks of it haven't been all night.

confused and dazed with tiredness, Ian stumbles out into the hall in search of the bathroom, when he sees you exiting the spare room in a way that would be subtle if he hadn't been staring right at you. he shoots you a confused look, as if to ask, "what were you doing in there?" and you just nod to him, patting his shoulder as you walk past into your shared room. "weird." he mumbles before turning into the bathroom.

the idea of your best friend screwing your older brother is a disturbing one. so, despite his concerns, Ian tried his best to stear clear of that frame of thought. which was going pretty well for him, until he entered the spare room, planning to look for a coat he was sure he'd left in there, and sees the floor littered with your clothes, as well as his brothers. he audibly groans at the uncomfortable realisation he's just been forced to have.

"fuck. my gay best friend is screwing my straight brother- my not straight brother? my...gay brother?", a hundred thoughts rush through his head at once. "i need to talk to Lip.", is the final one.

"yo," Lip nods and offers the cig offer to Ian, who declines it. Lip furrows his brow and turns away, chuckling, "what, you too good to smoke now?" he jokes and Ian tries to laugh along,

"ah no, eh i was uh- hoping to talk to you.", Ian stammers, Lip shoots him a weird look,

"you can talk." Lip answers, shaking his head and taking another puff,

"look, Lip, you're my brother and...and i love you. you know i'd never uh, judge you for who or what you choose to be and i uh-" Ian is trying to be supportive, but he guesses it isn't working,

"what the fuck are you talking about Ian?" Lip is pretty sure he knows what's coming anyway. it isn't like you tried to hide it. he wonders if he wanted to hide it. maybe you should've hid it,

"i know there's something going on between you and Y/N. and i dunno if you're like, dating, or just fucking or...i mean, do you love him?"

and there it is. it's out. Lip's secret that wasn't a secret that shouldn't have been his in the first place. despite expecting this very thing, he still pauses, his jaw hardening. he flicks the cig away. there's silence between them.

"the fuck you mean, 'do i love him'? does it matter?", he snaps, then pauses, "i uh, i took your advice. well, what you said about Mickey. the stuff about the hair and the eyes. i dunno. i guess i just don't know if i love him. we uh, we hang out i guess." Lip chuckles as he mimics his brother's statement from all those weeks ago. his chuckle fades into a solemn smile and Ian takes a step closer,

"look, man, you don't need to know anything. you wanna be with him, that's great. that's cool. fucking weird. but cool." Ian pats Lip on the shoulder and Lip shoots him a smile. the silence resumes.

"so...how the hell did that happen?" Ian breaks the silence and they both chuckle in bewilderment,

"don't ask me, man. fuck, i dunno, pheromones? the fuck should i know..." Lip grins to himself, remembering how it all played out between you, "whatever the fuck it is, he's got me. like he's under my skin or, like, in the fucking air around me. some pretentious shit like that." Lip scoffs at himself, but he means it. Ian can tell he means it, and pulls him in for a hug.

Lip holds on for a couple minutes before pulling back. he shoves Ian by the shoulder,

"get the fuck out of here." he chuckles and Ian gives him a look. a look that kinda says, you're welcome for the advice. a look that kinda says, this is insane and unexpected but it's okay.

and Lip really feels okay. he smiles to himself, alone on the porch. when he hears the door shut and your voice from inside the house, he runs in, beaming.

and you feel okay together.

things i can't match perfectly

color. I did my best, but i mean they did the painting bit IRL so some stuff I can't recreate with decals. also eyes are detailed in HF, I just picked what I remember their canon eye colors as being.

faces. HF completely changed how they do faces recently. I did my best but the mini faces are real tiny and hard to see and I'm unlikely to be able to recreate them.

poses. while there's very little advanced posing for these guys, there is some. I picked the base pose I think they started from.

this was actually much harder than I thought, because I had to remember what HF stuff was available way back then and what wasn't.

Adaine Abernant! (auction mini)

notes:

they made her before HF separated pants/skirts into an upper layer and lower layer, so I have no idea if there were leggings or anything originally. I am almost 100% certain those low poly flats are accurate though.

HF doesn't have socks, so I did my best with decals, but the skirt covers up where the sock color fades into skin color.

surprisingly, Adaine's mini has like. dark red lipstick. its a good look I just didn't notice it earlier.

couldn't get the Hudol decal on her jacket or the stripes on her tie. you can get patterns on the shirt but not on the tie :/

she's not smiling as much bc the 3d printed face isn't smiling that much its just the way the lipstick's painted that does the smiling for her.

they don't have corn on HF. I think this rotated fern looks OK though. same w her book, I scootched some decals around to try and match the design at least a little.

while they do have patterns for clothes now, they don't have a tie-dye one. this is a heavily modified leopard print. not as many different colors, but the ones that are on there do match the ones on the mini's shirt.

this is one of the few where I think I did in fact get her face right. I copied my old Kristen design from before the face customizer came out, so this is the old "round face" preset.

the freckles are subtler obviously but i s2g they're there and they are reddish-orange

Fabian Aramais Seacaster & The Hangman (auction mini)

his hair. ooh boy. they did the tiny mohawk and then painted on shaved sides but HF can't do shaved sides like that so I used a truly ghoulish amount of decals to approximate. [update: they have since added shaved head decals and I have updated the boy accordingly]

also he does technically have eyebrows 3d printed on i think, but they aren't painted separately. its just skin color. and that just looked bad and wrong on HF so i took his brows off altogether.

they made the skull themselves, but otherwise it's mostly the same bike. I used the "bloody skull" color for the headlight as a lil tribute.

this type of rapier used to be much chunkier, whatcha gonna do. I like this one better anyway.

they can do decals on the back now but none on just the sleeves, or on the front where the A is. rip.

fun fact: this is not a letterman jacket. This is what's called the "outlaw's shirt and vest" props to the team for resourcefulness, good jackets in HF are relatively recent.

So are you gonna tell me what your Nef/Unnamed scenario actually was or just leave me here sitting at the bus stop in the rain with my melted ice cream forever?

As much as I enjoy the mental image, here is my version.

Set in SoW between Nef returning from the Leibniz Dimension after assassinating Mev failed and before Mev goes after Val to kill her.

Leibniz!Nef goes to his counterpart's old castle to see if he can repair it and make it his new home. Only when he gets there does he find that the Unnamed has already made it his base and gathered his first followers.

On a Sidenote: I still love that castle and I’m still bitter that Landy either forgot about it or it was demolished to make room for new Roarhaven. I don’t know how close to old Roarhaven his castle was, so I wouldn’t exclude that possibility.

The Unnamed makes him an offer: serve him and he will protect him from Mevolent, refuse and he himself will kill him on the spot. Given no real choice Nef accepts and is tasked with finding the Obsidian Blade for the Unnamed since the underlings he has sent prior have failed to do so (bc in canon it makes no sense that the Unnamed made no attempt to find it first :/). In this version, Omen and his friends haven’t yet found the Obsidian Blade. Instead, they show up just in time to watch Nef choke out the collector and take the blade. Never tries to teleport behind him to ambush him but instead gets their lights punched out in an instant bc Nef fought in a war when teleporters were common, this doesn’t work on him. The others try to be sneaky and steal the blade from him/follow him but Nef knocks them out too. The only reason he spared their lives is bc he still hopes that Val and/or Tanith will help him once they find out what’s going on and he knows they won’t if he killed kids, especially kids they like.

Unfortunately, the Unnamed has learned from Mev’s betrayal and won’t give Nef an opening he could use to stab him. As a reward for bringing him the blade the Unnamed gives him his red right hand back. Nef didn’t even ask him to do that since he doesn’t trust him enough to let him modify his body. The Unnamed just was like “I believe you’ll find this reward will suffice” grabbed his right hand and red-handed it. And yes, that hurt. A lot.

The Unnamed only had Nef for a short time but he has already proved himself more useful than the other fools which makes the Unnamed like him. He can tell why Mev made this one his right-hand man. Looking him up and down and noticing that he had grown up into a handsome man with those glistening emerald eyes he wondered if his treacherous former student had ever decided to bed that pretty boi. He asked Nef quite bluntly and reminded him that there will be a punishment for lying. Upon getting confirmation the Unnamed decided he wanted a taste himself.

Nef pretty much only played a long bc he's hoping sleeping with him will make his new master like him enough to NOT use him as bait to lure Mev in. He had expected to lie there and just let the old man (new body or not, his soul is still old as dust) do what he wants to do, but instead found himself screaming down the castle in the best way possible. Turns out he doesn't only know ancient magic no one has ever heard of before, but he also learned some neat bedroom tricks in the millennia he was alive (and maybe he's cheating a little bit with magic, after all, Nef really can't tell). Go figure someone who had a harem in addition to his wife knows how to fuck.

However, the Unnamed used Nef as bait anyways.

While Mev told himself he doesn't care about Nef anymore it hurt him deeply to see that the man that had once adored and loved him so, was now working with whom Mev essentially views as the devil against him. Bonus angst points, if, while in this vers not having helped to kill the Unnamed, Nef still grew up in the castle alongside Mev. Nef being there had been a further motivation to kill the Unnamed so he could no longer hurt either of them. Obviously, he had failed to protect Nef. From himself AND from his former master. And now he sees that same hardened expression on Nef's face that had burned itself into his own features centuries ago. (And I posted this first as a reference to how badly the Unnamed had messed Mev up.) The Unnamed is cruel, even to those closest to him.

ok more p5 suou au maruki scenario thoughts. this has become more of a plot outline than just miscellaneous thoughts oops.

takes place after the thieves fail to complete maruki's palace in time, so maruki puts akinari to sleep forever and goes forward with altering reality

to keep the thieves from wondering where akinari is and getting sad about his absence, he basically "writes out" akinari's role from their lives, or otherwise substitutes in akechi when he needs a stand-in

"now they won't be sad that their friend is gone, and akechi-san has friends now, so this is a good and logical and moral solution :)"

(^literally just me trying to keep akechi around despite it all but being stated that akechi is only in the 3rd semester in the first place specifically bc maruki brought him back to life for joker's sake, so really would akechi even be kept around in the Joker's Eternal Sleep scenario)

maruki took extra care with the thieves memories so they wouldn't be able to break out of the dream like they did last time and thus won't try to stop him again

shiho was still in sumaru up until maruki rewrote reality; she was not a part of the infiltration of his palace

(she just kinda got transported back to tokyo with no notice when maruki rewrote reality)

because of this he does not know she also has a persona and metaverse access

jun and tatsuya are immune to his actualization bc philemon already tried modifying their memories and if the Divine Guide of Humanity couldn't make that didn't stick then just a guy trying to play god can't do shit

so it is very incredibly noticeable to them when their son just suddenly drops off the face of the earth

when they go to tokyo, any time they try to inquire about akinari everyone just stares blankly at them, before shaking off their daze and smiling and saying "sorry, what were we talking about?"

except for akechi. akechi sees them, stares for a beat, and then just remembers everything because he is a cynical little man so full of anger (especially at the notion of being trapped in maruki's reality) that the second he is reminded of the name suou (and thus the very noticeable absence of one akinari suou) it all just immediately comes back to him

akechi joins the party and starts explaining The Maruki Shit to the suous

when tatsujun see shiho+ann, shiho recognizes jun bc he was her teacher when she was transferred from shujin, and for half a second she remembers that he was also the father of that transfer student everyone was talking about last april, but then that thought slips from her and she spends the rest of the day feeling like she's forgetting something really important, but whenever she tries to bring it up to ann ann just says "oh its probably nothing!" and carries on like everything's fine

when shiho does finally remember, she tries to get ann to remember as well, but no matter what she does or what she says she can't seem to jog ann's memory

she figures since the suou parents are actively looking for their son and ann can't seem to remember akinari beyond incredibly vague recollections, there must be something going on with him specifically and decides to also try to find out where he is and what happened to him

so everyone ends up at leblanc bc where the hell else do you go to look for akinari suou

wakaba is there!! yayy we love wakaba (futaba is ofc with her and they are having a lovely family time)

anyway jun and tats try to get over wakaba being very visibly no longer deceased and are like HEY SOJIRO WHERE THE HELL IS OUR SON

but same weird brushing off and non answer that they got from all akinari's friends

akechi's like Ok anyway. and just goes upstairs since that's where akinari was living. neither of the isshikis nor sojiro seems to acknowledge the existence of the upstairs and seem to stop perceiving akechi the second he starts going up the stairs

and there is akinari! he is asleep and nothing they do can wake him up, but he is most definitely breathing at least

so jun's like So if we beat this maruki guy my son will wake up. right.

and akechi's like Only one way to find out :)

anyway leblanc attic becomes makeshift hideout bc people affected by maruki's actualization can't seem to perceive it, to keep them away from akinari's comatose body

also it's very convenient to have cognitive psience expert wakaba isshiki just downstairs

speaking of wakaba. while cognitive psience hyperspecific hypotheticals aren't uncommon from the kashihara family (well. one specific kashihara), something about jun's specific inquiry causes her to realize she doesn't actually have solid memories of the last 2 years; she knows she somehow managed to find the perfect work-life balance so she has plenty of time to spend with her daughter while also being completely fulfilled by her work, but she can't seem to grasp anything solid

and then she notices the stairs to the attic and is like Huh. wonder why i forgot those are there.

so she goes upstairs while sojiro and futaba are talking and finds tatsujun+akechi+shiho+comatose akinari

and she's like Hi jun did something happen to me a couple years ago? i realized i don't have real memories of the past two years. and your questions about someone being able to theoretically overwrite reality using the cognition of the collective unconscious made me curious.

and jun's like Uh.

and akechi's internally like UH.

and wakaba's like Jun am i supposed to be dead. if yes what happened to futaba

so the party tries to give wakaba the bullet points of what's happening bc frankly if she knows what's happening she might be able to give even better insight on how to deal with whatever maruki's doing

so now wakaba is looped in! she agrees to look after akinari while the party deals w maruki

so then the party makes their way to maruki's palace. when they get there akechi just starts yelling for maruki like Maaaarruuukiiiiii come out we just wanna taaaaaallk :) and maybe cause grevious bodily harm :)))))

maruki appears bc he's like well akechi shouldn't remember that this is all fake. oh who are these other people.

and jun's like Hiii i'm jun suou and this is my husband tatsuya. we were looking for our son. akinari :)

and maruki's like Ah. well.

jun: and we noticed he was comatose. :) so i'd like you to wake him up please :)

maruki: i can't do that, the decision on whether to oppose my perfect reality was causing him a lot of grief so :( i had to put him to sleep so he wouldn't be burdened by that anymore :(

and jun's like this is a pretty sad excuse for a perfect reality when my son that i love more than life itself is COMATOSE.

and maruki gets all preachy about his Vision, and in doing so starts talking to/about shiho and "wouldn't it be better if everything with kamoshida never happened?"

shiho now absolutely frozen in place. maruki keeps talking, making himself bascially sound like a saint for "taking her pain away"

shiho gets fed up and snaps bc he didn't even ASK. her whole life has just been people deciding FOR her, her opinions never mattered, she's just always been expected to choke down and accept what The Adults decide is what's best for her with a smile, from her parents to teachers and coaches and every other fucking person besides ann

so shiho gets to snap at maruki for being no different from anyone else in just deciding to make important life decisions for her without bothering to consult her and then she awakens to her ultimate persona :)

anyway maruki probably fucks off around this point bc he now has four extremely pissed off and powerful persona users at his doorstep and he's like Noooo i'm a pacifist :( and he knows he's not gonna convince them to accept his reality peacefully

"Yeah. I'm not happy either." Gojo's heart dropped. Of course he didn't mean what he said but only he knew that. "I'm sorry I thought that I was ever a priority." You were about to disappear into the hallway before you stopped and said "I'll call the wedding off. Have fun in Shibuya."

The next day Gojo Satoru wished he had taken a day off to be with his beloved. He would have never had to relive the trauma of losing his bestfriend. He proposed to you because you mended his heart, and all he's ever done is break yours.

Getou spent the rest of his evening wallowing in the words you had said to him. He had still decided to leave praying that one day you two can meet again in another life living happily, something he couldn't do with you in this life.

Can you explain different poodle clips and what you do and don't like about them?

sure! i'm going to go through FCI-accepted show clips bc i'm not very familiar with non-show clips and their names.

continental/lion clip

i love continental clip. you can't hide much behind grooming with this one because the most important parts of the dog are shaven. this is The Poodle Clip, you can't go wrong with the classic.

there's also modified continental, which looks more like a traditional hunting poodle clip. the mane and ears are shorter, there's no topknot, sometimes rosettes on butt are omitted completely. it's not accepted as a show clip.

puppy/scandinavian clip (left is show ready, right is half-banded and ready for a bath, which is Sparta's permanent setting)

can look impressive, especially on toy poodles when you get this ridiculous length. i love it but it's also proof of my masochistic tendencies, because maintaining a puppy clip is hell. it's hard to keep it nice and tangle-free bc it's the clip with the longest fur.

federal/modern clip

it's alright. it's a shorter and more manageable version of the scandinavian clip, with a hat instead of topknot and shorter mane. i like it, it's fun and pretty, the only thing i didn't like was that after a while the short hair above ears quickly becomes too long and started getting into Sparta's eyes but were too short to band them.

german/terrier clip

i don't like this one, i don't like the shaved tail and ears, it looks so weird. also i noticed not many groomers know how to do a good terrier clip and most dogs in this clip look horrible and their anatomy looks butchered just by the clip. yulia marenkova (left) and nicole baltes (right) are probably the only groomers i would trust with a terrier clip haha.

saddle/english clip

...it's ugly and i don't like it. too many balls on this poor beast.

WoT episode 8 non-spoiler notes

So I did get to finally watch this and I have to say, I had a few small quibbles but 95% excellent episode! There will be a lot of gushing and vague references like *I loved this in the book* and *there exists a significant scene do we get it?* type stuff, but no spoilers for future stuff in the show! Tons of notes incoming, again things in () at the end are clarifications written as I type this up.
