Monochrome, high contrast: there’s room for both in today’s Fine Art Friday Flashback Twofer, and there was definitely room for both in my “New Kind of Elegant” vignette at Bilotta Kitchens, in partnership with Traditional Home and Prouna. My imagined inhabitant was a worldly, art-loving gent, fitting his modern life in a classic envelope, in this instance, one of Bilotta’s gorgeous traditional kitchens. And one of the first places I started was with art, and the ultimate crayon box in which to play: the storerooms of the Berry Campbell Gallery. The all-things purple (and Herculean!) canvas by Perle Fine, which made sense of all the purples, pale to deep, appearing in the space, and the black-and-white piece by Ken Greenleaf, which still makes my shaped-canvas-loving heart sing!
