It’s not really about anything? Tbh?

Really it just felt really fucking weird that my favorite fictional characters of all time that have basically become my personality at this point and that I really like using to express my emotions about certain topics and have become my coping mechanism and the means by which I process my surroundings and are basically stand ins for myself and my boyfriend at this point and that I like to make kiss are literal seventh graders

So I made them. Not that. Because I frequently forget they’re not my age anyway

So this AU is essentially “what if the peculiars didn’t stay loop bound teenagers forever” and they’re now like 10 years older physically than they are in the books because that actually makes them older than I am and I’d like for them to have their lives a little more together than I do so that works out I think

So now I’ve spent 24 actual hours on a drawing of this that isn’t even done being colored and is one of the most complicated things I’ve ever made because life is short and I live in a fascist country and queer joy is the biggest form of protest

Random MPHFPC head canons because I’m tired

Horace and Jacob are both mosquito magnets. If you stand next to them you won’t get a single bite because they took them all.

When they went into the modern world, Enoch got really into hoodies. He now has a collection of them.

Horace will steal said hoodies.

Claire and Olive play with Enoch’s hair, since he doesn’t cut it very often it gets long enough to braid it.

I’m sorry but when I ever just think about the dumb shit they happens in Florida or the vids that were made during hurricane Milton I can only imagine this

Hi!

Next year, I plan to start writing posts about my mphfpc ocs in my telegram channel, and then translate them into English and publish them on ao3. So I have a question: how do you imagine peculiar post-Soviet space? Not only Russia, but also other countries of the former USSR. You can write any stereotypical nonsense, I will accept any answer. I'm just wondering what you think about it.

Forgive me for taking so long to respond, I only had time to research this and give a better answer now. I would hate to say something generic or extremely stereotypical.

I will give a little historical context that confirms my opinion. In 1908, the hollows were born in Russian territory, and at that time the beasts spread throughout Asia, decimating the peculiar population. This caused the peculiars of this region and neighboring regions to hide in loops for a long time. I suppose that it was only after the First World War and the Russian Civil War that Asia was safer from the Hollows. At that time, the Wights already existed and had already changed their route exclusively to Europe, with more coordinated and less random and bestial attacks like Asia suffered. Finally, during the Second World War and the Cold War, the peculiars of this region could return to living in the present, since their territory was practically free of Hollows and the world was modernized. Free from witch burnings and mass hysteria due to religious fanaticism, the only problem of the peculiar inhabitants of the USSR were the same problems as the normal ones, the government and its crises, and they could not leave the Asian continent for Europe because of the scourge of the hollows and wights. Basically, when the USSR came to an end and several replicas were proclaimed, the peculiars migrated to the new republics and away from the big cities, Asia was practically a safe place for peculiars since the attacks against peculiars were almost entirely in Europe and migrating to America. The peculiars of the old USSR continued to have two humble lives, if they lived among the normals (disguised obviously) they faced the same adversities as the normals, and if they wanted to live in a loop, they would have several from the time of the birth of the Hollowgasts and some more modern ones in the best times of the government. Well, that's it, the peculiars probably just migrated to more peaceful and quiet places, hiding in the new republics and continuing their lives as best they could. I assume that the vast majority opted for loops because peculiar people don't usually live in the midst of modern technology in the 90s, when video cameras already existed and the chances of their exposure were much higher than before. The vast majority probably lived in loops from the Cold War era, since modern LOOPS are extremely rare.

I wanted to give a better and more detailed answer, but I couldn't find any material that spoke better about what happened to the former members of the USSR. All the content in my language ends as soon as the USSR is disbanded, they never tell what happened afterwards, so forgive me for the boring answer.

Mphfpc goes to manhattan accidentally stumblin in to a ongoing war (mphfpc x pjo)

Two days ago Horace and a few others had been informed that there was a loop in the center of Manhattan, The loop had an artifact that the ymbrynes had for years thought to be destroyed.

A few peculiars were to retrieve it, 

Horace, Jacob, Millard, Olive and Bronwyn

“Ricky?!” Jacob exchlamed surprised, and slightly horrified.

The green spiky haired boy turns around to show a punk look, at certain a point of time Horace would have thought the guys  ‘punk’ choice of clothing to be atrocious but ever since he left cairnholm and the war,Horace would like to think that he is more open minded, so its not super atrocious, only slightly

“Jacob!?” the guy, Ricky, says also surprised.

“aren't you a mortal?”

“aren't you normal?”

They both just look at each other,

Bronwyn gives Jacob a questioning look, so does Olive, he was pretty sure that Millard did too but how could Hotace know.

“Me normal?” Ricky scoffs. “You know what i mean.” Jacob glares at Ricky.

“Wait, you guys know each other?” a guy from slightly behind ‘Ricky’ says.

Also wearing one of those nasty orange shirts, the boy had a small cut on his left cheek oozing out blood and he was holding a sword.

Ricky looks at the boy

 “No we don't, I just randomly guessed his name, Damien” Ricky said, in a flat tone of voice.

The boy, Damien,  rolled his eyes and raised an eyebrow, he was waiting for an explanation

“He is my, erm.. He is my ex” Ricky nodded towards jacob.

“Wait for real?” Damien asked.

Ricky looked offended “yeah? What's the problem with that.”

“I don't know, i just didn't think you would be into guys that basic or something” He explained.

“Hey!” Jacob squawked indignantly from my left. 

Both Bronwyn and Ricky snorted, and Horace could hear Millard snort too.

“Wait, you're interested in guys?” Olive asked.

“Olive, i don't tell you everything your like ten”

 Olive grumbled something about her technically being 97.

“But, what about you and Emma? she is a girl-” Olive was cut off by Jacob in a much louder voice saying “I am bi” his cheeks were slightly  tinged with red.

Ricky covered up a laugh by coughing. So did Brownyn.

Olive turned to Bronwyn and mouthed ‘what's that?’

‘Later’ Bronwyn mouthed back. 

Ricky bends down to pick up a long bronze sword that Horace ofcourse hadn't realized was on the asphalt.

“What are you?” Ricky questioned, simultaneously Bronwyn asked “wait mortals?”

"Peculiar" Jacob answered towards Ricky.

Ricky ignored him and nodded towards Bronwyn

“yea like half god half mortal, like you guys are demigods right?”

"Demigods?" Millard repeated from my right,

both Damien and Ricky jumped and directed their weapons towards Millard

“Show yourself” Damien sneared.

“Whoah woah woah” Bronwyn said, she let go of Olive's hand and put her hands up in a ‘calm down’ gesture.

“Let's not get violent” she pointed at an empty place where millard presumably was “That's just Millard, he is invisible” Bronwyn threw a modern hoodie towards Millard, where she got the hoodie? we will never know.

Millard caught the blue hoodie, and slid it on.

“Happy?” he grumbled. 

“yes, very” Olive smiled at him showing him a thumbs up.

Both Ricky and Damien put down their weapons

"Wait, Millard.. Invisible?” Ricky knitted his eyebrows and he glanced towards Jacob, “Like..those… stories you told?” He breathed out.

Jacob nodded “yeah” he whispered “-those stories”

“they were- are real”

That's when Horace decided to say something

“Im so confused”

Damian nodded sympathetically

wait how tall is caul’s giant form in your fanfic?

In the mphfpc wiki the man’s «at least fifteen feet tall» but honestly compared to most modern buildings or even trees, that’s ridiculously short.

in ane, he’s out here shooting down planes and causing mass destruction to the whole non-looped planet , and there’s also a scene when he stares through the window of Alma’s room (isn’t she trapped somewhere high?), so all of this implies that he’s way taller than in TDODA.

But,, like,, is his enhanced form Godzilla sized or does his flying ability help compensate his shortness

To be quite honest, when I read the books I had no idea how tall Caul really was, in LOS he seems to be much taller than in TDODA. Maybe it's just my impression, I read LOS in January of this year, I don't remember everything perfectly anymore. I never understood how in TDODA Caul fits inside the library, if in LOS he also grew up and broke the library's roof along with Bentham.

Well, answering your question, I have a headcanon that Caul always tries to surpass Bentham, and this issue of height has always bothered Caul, so he is a giant bigger than Bentham. In ANE Caul is still a mortal being, he still needs to do basic things like breathe. So for it to be functional I like to imagine that he gave himself a soul that gives him the power to increase and decrease in size as he wants. Basically, his maximum size would be the same as Godzilla's, but he doesn't like to stay at that size for too long, due to the difficulty in breathing. It's the type of size he only uses in war. Being so large makes him fearsome, but extremely vulnerable, he's just another giant target for bombs. While he was destroying the US with Bentham, he was at an average size. He rarely reaches his full size, it's a matter of comfort for him. Like fifteen feet tall would be his average size, it's tall and comfortable for him, but if he wants he can get bigger, but being bigger is much less advantageous for him. It becomes slow, and as said before, a very large target, besides not being able to breathe very well.

Basically that's it, he varies his height whenever he wants, in battles he is really huge, but in his appearances and walks around Acre, he has a medium size, fearsome to everyone, and comfortable for him. This helps me when writing the story to avoid making mistakes, I don't want to cause the confusion I felt in TDODA.

I havent made a MPHFPC post in a really long time, and I never read the last 2 MPHFPC books, quite frankly bc I do not own the 5th one, but I'm in a mood rn. In a 2024 setting, I think Jacob would either love or hate the gen alpha slang bc I could see him getting annoyed when ppl say, "chat, is this rizz?" Whenever he hangs out with any of the girls, especially Emma, but also coming up to, like, Hugh and Fiona holding hands and saying, "Okkkk Rizzz 🤭🤭" in a teasing way. And, when he was telling them about modern day in the 4th book, I recall him saying that they had to turn the TV off bc everybody was getting overwhelmed with it, and the jump between social culture and whatnot, but like,, what was he showing them? I think it was just like regular TV and not a certain show in particular to specifically show them the past 80 years, but if he had, imagine Jacob trying to like, explain the Fnaf lore, or showing videos of those toy unboxings, like the Cookieswirlc ones, and everybody just entranced in slime videos. Olive would have a field day with slime! Emma would have a 2014 soft girl Tumblr, with the Polaroids, the EOS, the filters. She might like twee core, perhaps?? I could see her wearing the 2010s owl stuff and the skinny jeans ballerina flats combo. Jacob might get bored one day and decide to watch Markiplier, perhaps MatPat, about Fnaf, and then Millard, bless his heart, would come up to him, and become obsessed with trying to determine the exact Fnaf lore and potentially finding out things like Crying Childs real name, etc, yk? He wouldn't particularly like Fnaf. It'd remind him of home, and the Wights and everything (tbh there are more similarities than you might think), but he'd still have a pin board up to place all the events chronologically. Oh my God, that guy on Tiktok who does the raps every year and every few months??? Jacob could throw on a John Green video, tbh and they'd all be fine.

Hii! This is really random, but which characters from mphfpc do you think can ice skate, idk but I feel like Horace doesn’t, but catches on decently quick, but emma is randomly good at it, idk that’s just me though

Personally I think Horace and Claire would, like if they could join a team and do that they’d be the most likely to do it. I think the others can varying degrees of decently well (I do agree that Emma would probably be really good)

I do not think Enoch or Millard can stand on ice skates. If Horace takes Enoch to an ice rink he has to hold onto him or he will fall (sometimes they both do)

Also fun fact I have a fanfic I haven’t updated in actual years that may or may not be a modern AU where most of them are on an ice skating team because I started it back when I was on an ice skating team (I’m working on the rewrite I swear 😭)

OH BOY HOWDY DO I EVER! well they're not all angsty. But I have a document of all my headcannons I will post under this . They're mostly post cannon headcannons.

Jacob

The kids once saw him chase a gator off with a broom and were like wow Florida is wild 

Beyond his cannon love for classic rock he really likes bands like Joji, greta van fleet, Ricky Montgomery (soft boy bands and more emotional stuff)

He later in life gets tattoos 

Some for his grandfather and one that looks like a hollow tongue

Him and Ricky had a slight thing together

They mostly cuddled while playing video games and sat together on the beach or on a dock and would hangout and drink

Mainly for the name and also for the glitter and toys 

She keeps telling the workers that her name is Claire 

Jacob takes her on a birthday shopping spree there one year and she goes WILD

Claire looks and sounds like Shirley Temple and old people tell her DAILY

It gets to a point where she has to look up who she is 

She couldn’t agree more 

She then keeps acting like Shirley Temple and will sing animal crackers in my soup all the time 

Jacob blames himself for getting her that dvd box set ( you know the one that would blast on tv at 1 am yeah that one )

Olive is more of a slight tomboy

Olive keeps wanting to join sports but has a hard time with getting led filled  tennis shoes. 

She eventually joins a soccer team for peculiars that work with all kinds of accommodations 

Neither of them are huge fans of more modern kids tv but they do both like the older stuff

Jacob shows them older 60s and 70s kids tv and that seems to be more their speed 

Hugh/ Fiona

They move out and have a small place together 

They have tons of plants and a small garden

They eventually get married soon after the events of DoDA

Fiona works at a flower shop 

She doesn’t really care for too much modern stuff 

Hugh only really cares for things he can use in the modern world 

Even back in the loops he would smoke to keep the bees calm if they got out of control 

That mainly started in Devil's Acre and when he thought he wouldn’t see Fiona again bc his bees were going wild 

Enoch stole a cigarette off him once and hugh found him hidden from him in a corner somewhere (complete goblin mode)

After threatening to tell Ms. P he just laughed and let him keep it and lets him take some as long as he asks

Fiona hates it because she doesn’t like kissing him afterwards

Seeing her again has got him to slowly stop 

She also hates kissing him after he’s had coffee

But she doesn't mind too much and he still gives her cheek kisses with his coffee breath

The bees hate coffee but he doesn’t care  

Him and Fiona could sit and drink tea all day especially with fresh honey and flowers

Fiona has a small and high pitched voice and a thick accent

But he does adopt the gay flag ( the og rainbow one ) and has a small one in his room and one as a lapel pin

Does adopt the 30’s and 40’s american lgbtq+ symbolism like lavender and saying things like “ friend of Dorothy” 

But he loves that modern men actually dress nice(ish) and take care of their skin and aren’t afraid of more feminine things 

The only modern tech he loves are modern ovens, high tech sewing machines, embroidery machines and the canon ones like fabric softener and modern landry tools 

When he gets older he goes out with Enoch 

They date on and off over the years but eventually stay together after a year or so of being on again off again 

Gets a job later as a tailor and love it

Ricky and Noor teach him about it 

He LOVES that it mainly started in England 

They teach him the history and values 

They start him off with the older punk music then work they way to more modern

Noor helps him make all his clothes and jackets and stuff

 He becomes a mechanic when he is older

When he’s older he also get tattoos 

Some of his old life and skulls and  one of a set of his old mortuary tools and one for Victor (or several) 

Other of stupid random stuff but he is COVERED in tattoos and Ms. P has a heart attack at first but stops after the first few bc he’s an adult and it's his money 

He thought about working at a morgue but decided to leave that work in his past 

That and things changed so much that he didn’t want to catch up

He’s bi and Noor kinda helped him understand modern lgbtq+ stuff 

He also has a few pro lgbtq+ rights patches on his jacks and loves the idea of pissing of homophobes 

Horace hates his music but tunes it out because he wants him to just be happy 

He finds a new love for scary movies 

He makes Horace watch with him but Horace hides his face the entire time 

This is a quick way he gets Horace to cuddle him when even during the times they were not together 

Doing this and cuddling him made Horace realize how much he actually really liked it and they got back together and stayed together 

Enoch sometimes finds loops in the early days of punk shows just to experience them and show Noor (I aint punk sorry it’s also 2am I’ll fix this later if the wording is dumb)

Him and jacob have a small moment while hanging out after the events of DoDA and they make out and cuddle while a bit drunk but both feel super guilty 

Jacob one day spilled that secret to Noor and they were like “ okay… and… we all do stupid shit with our ex’s. I don't care because I know you stopped having feelings for him a long time ago”

I started writing a fanfic (not sure if I’ll finish it but oh well). It’s a crossover between MPHfPC and this Webtoon I like about people who are fused with bugs (it’s called Jungle Juice). I’m also adding my own oc as the main character so Jacob isn’t the narrator (also because I thought the character idea was cool 🤷‍♀️). It starts a month or so after the Desolations of Devil’s Acre and is set in semi modern times. Would anyone be interested?
