imagine if the shen family was actually a part of the mafia. and shen yuan just never knew.

like his Family is rich and they are all super close. he’s even in contact with some of his distant relatives pretty often, which is kinda cool for him, he’s sure that this isn’t the case for most families so he considers himself lucky to know the extent of his family tree. sure, some of them seem to have lost a marble or two but what family doesn’t have a couple oddballs in their midst, you know?

and its not just sy’s comical obliviousness that contributes to this. his family is well aware that sy is not suited for this life style- especially his siblings. they grew up watching him get himself into all sorts of weird situations and putting himself at a disadvantage simply because he’s too nice. he can try and deny it all he wants (just like how he denies he’s gay- c’mon sy everyone can tell you are not straight) but his sense of justice would only burden him if he were to work for the Family. not to mention his sense of self preservation is absolute shit and they don’t want to have to babysit him his whole life- and he probably doesn’t want that either!

so they send him off to college, help him find an apartment, and basically do everything they can to help him start off on his own, away from the Family. his siblings had to do a whole lot of convincing to let this happen btw- this kind of thing usually isn’t allowed, but sy doesn’t know anything that could be used against the Family, so they make an exception in his case. better for them to not have a deadweight sticking around either is what they say but they all dote on him anyways and refuse to admit they care about him. sy definitely picked up this line of reasoning from them btw.

shen yuan is a little upset and confused that his Family seems eager to send him off (it’s not like they can’t afford for him to live with them after all- both of his older brothers still live in the Family’s massive house and even his aunts and uncles are living there??). he manages to recover quickly though. at least now he can read his web novels in piece without prompting any dick jokes (his cousins had a field day when they found his account with all of his pidw comments…). now he just needs to figure out how to live by himself.

it’s not that sy is incapable of taking care of himself- it’s just that he’s so used to having other people with him that he never understood how much they were doing for him until they were no longer around. but that’s fine, living on your own is just another learning curve and sy is willing to rise up to the challenge. which he did, by the way! he found a job and pays his taxes and even though that isn’t much he still gives himself a mental pat on the back for it. he is still in contact with his siblings, he never misses an update for pidw which he totally doesn’t get excited for and his life is going great.

……until he accidentally eats some expired food and dies.

More Desmond hcs cause I love him so much.

Desmond is the type of person to sleep everywhere but where he's supposed to. The others can't figure out if it's because of the bleeding effect and his episodes or if he's genuinely sleeping in weird places. They had an idea to lock his room door at night, but they didn't want to treat him like an asylum patient. There's been a few instances where Shaun has walked into the kitchen and has found des sleeping on the counter or even inside the cabinets.

"Hmmm, I'm in a chamomile mood today," mumbles Shaun as he walks into the kitchen yawning.

He fills the kettle with water and puts it on the stove. He lazily leans against the counter and waits, trying not to fall asleep. Then, a muffled voice fills his ears.

"You making tea? I want some too, please."

Shaun's eyes shoot open like he's seen Jesus himself. He stands up straight and frantically looks around.

"Christ, I'm hearing voices... I should've done the evaluation." He runs a hand down his face, rethinking his life choices.

"Nope, no ghost. Just your good pal Desmond." At this, Shaun is confused. Where is his voice coming from? He then gets the bright idea to look inside the cabinets, the only place Desmond could hide. Crouching down his opens up a door, and lo and behold, desmond is in there.

"Why on earth are you in the cabinets desmond?" Shaun says with an exasperated sigh.

"I'm actually not sure, I just woke up in here. Ugh my back hurts."

"Well, yeah, you fell asleep crammed inside a cabinet."

"About that tea, though, I want some."

"Oh- uh yeah, sure, tea for you too." He closes the cabinet door, "Wait!" The door opens again, "what is it, Desmond?" "Can you add honey to mine, please? " "Yes, you can have honey."

The same goes for rebecca and Lucy. Rebecca remembers the last time she tried to go to bed peacefully, she didn't.

Rebecca yawns and turns over, eyes still closed. She's feels something is off, it's warmer than usual, way warmer, and her bed feels...heavier? She opens her eyes, coming face to face with Desmond. All snuggled up under her sheets, leg thrown over hers, staring like this was an everyday occurrence.

"Jiminy Christmas! Fuck Desmond! what the hell are you doing in my bed?!" Rebecca whisper yells.

"Your bed so warm, you mind if I sleep here? I think my heater is broken in my room."

Rebecca sighs out loud,

"Did you make sure it was plugged in? Cause you did that last time des."

Desmond thinks back to his heater. Now that he thinks about it, it probably wasn't plugged into the wall. But who cares? He's warm now.

"Probably not, but it's too late. I'm already lying down."

"Ughhhhhh, fine, you can stay. Just don't hog the blanket, and don't kick me."

"Ok ok I won't. Goodnight becca."

"Night des."

FYI, Rebecca got kicked at least 3 times that night.

Lucy has had her share of being scared shitless by Desmond, too, in her room as well.

Lucy sits up and stretches, just waking up. Checking her clock, she sees its 5am, no use in going back to sleep now.

"I could really start the grocery list today. The fridge is pretty empty -" she freezes, holding back a yell with her eyes wide as she stares straight into the corner at her hanging chair. Something tall, resembling a person is in it, its way to dark in her room to see.

She shudders, reaching for her bed side lamp she flicks it on in a hurry.

"Oh what the hell."

There sits Desmond, sitting inside Lucy's chair with a blanket draped over him, he even brought his own pillow. Yet he's so tall. He looks a bit uncomfortable.

She stands up and walks over to Desmond, patting his shoulder.

"Des wake up, you can sleep in my bed."

"Hmmmm?" He groans, not fully awake yet.

"You can sleep in my bed. You look uncomfortable over here."

"Hm, thanks," Desmond goes to stand, "Ugh, wait, headache."

"From the bleeds?" "No, stood up too fast."

Lucy grabs Desmond by the arm and leads him to the bed. "Sleep now, I know you barely get any as it is." She expects a rebuttal but is surprised when he is fast asleep again, and this time, he looks comfortable. She leaves him there, making her way into the living room where Rebecca and Shaun are watching whatever is good on TV.

"Shaun, Becca, we need to get this Desmond sleeping situation under control."

"Agreed"

"Agreed"

some kind of. miscellaneous conversation sometime during ac3?? this was actually part of a much longer scene that went in a more serious direction than I originally planned once I started drawing it. I ended up starting over, but I couldnt bring myself to delete the pages I had already started (which is why the dialogue's a little janky bc I decided to redo it before I got to the lettering stage RIP) so I cleaned them up a bit to post :') get some sleep, desmond.

Modern au assassins creed 3 hcs GO!

• Achilles raised Connor since he was 13 after Ziio passed away. Connor met Haytham officially when he was 17 because Connor vandalized Haytham’s car for ignoring him for so long and when Haytham had Connor arrested that’s when he realized he had a kid

• Haytham and Connor tried to build a relationship after that. The tension between Achilles and Connor got worse with that but to make things worse, Connor and Haytham just don’t get along 😭

• CEO Haytham where Connor just kind of bursts into his office sometimes just to hang out and bother his dad. And when Haytham asks him why Connor’s like “you got 20 years to make up for” so Haytham’s like “ugh”

• Shay is Haytham’s… “traveling representative”. When he comes back to the office he spends a lot of time in the boss’s place…

• company Christmas party where Thomas Hickey gets drunk off his ass. Connor asks why Haytham hasn’t fired him yet. “He’s a good worker. Most of the time.”

• Connor’s assassin recruits are his book club. The other assassins (Ezio, Altaïr, Desmond, Jacob, Evie, Arno, Bayek, Aya, Kassandra, Eivor) are his cousins. You can usually see those cousins doing parkour in abandoned buildings

• Ezio and Desmond were the ones who got Connor to vandalize Haytham’s car btw. Altaïr and Jacob helped and Evie tried to convince them not to but Kassandra and Bayek and Aya and Arno supported but weren’t part of the act LOL

• Connor’s legal name is Ratonhnhaké:ton ofc but he does usually introduce himself as Connor Davenport (Achilles adopted him). After meeting Haytham, Connor hyphenates his last name to “Connor Davenport-Kenway”, which pisses Achilles the fuck off

• Shay, Achilles, and Haytham having the most awkward history ever…and now they share a kid 😭

• Ziio being alive means she goes off on Haytham and Achilles for being jerks to her son…Connor’s like “TELL EM MOM”

• Connor gets picked up by cops a lot bc he and his cousins and his friends keep breaking and entering into prohibited places like old malls or old hospitals…Achilles and Haytham bail him out tho

So, since I have nothing better to do, I wanna talk about my Desmond mafia king AU. Basically, once Desmond leaves the brotherhood and gets a job at Bad Weather, he ends up getting involved in a gang after one of the lower members tried to run out on their tab. Being young and tired of constantly worrying about if the assassins will find him, he decides to join up with them for protection and climbs the ranks pretty quickly, becoming the leaders right-hand man within 3 years considering he already had a bit of combat and stealth training

Except the twist is that Clay is the leader of the gang and is an ally to the assassins. And that's how Desmond gets reinvolved with the assassins but on his own terms this time. But then Clay gets taken by Abstergo and Desmond loses his fucking mind

If anyone wants to write this, please do, we need more writers in this fandom, and I have way too many projects to even hope to finish writing this in a timely manner, just make sure to actually tell me about it so I can read it
