my 1 (one) stardew opinion is shane should not have won the bachelor poll
#stardew valley#like i love shane but his storyline is not improved by him being a marriage canidate#if anything his bland post-marriage dialogue and 14 heart event dampen the message#and clint would have been a GREAT bachelor#linus not so much because he would have suffered from the same post-marriage dialogue dampening as shane#and he's too much of a free spirit to be tied down to your farm#like maybe he'd have a similar romance path as krobus? like you don't get MARRIED married but you have a commitment ceremony!!!#and the wizard... need to be in a love square with the witch and caroline...#his hidden dialogue. the situation with abigail. his adulterous past. his condescending behavior towards the player.#i also don't think he'd marry the player though. would probably make you soul bonded or something#maybe it increases your health or smth? and if you get divorced your health gets cut in half for like a week while you slowly recover#idk i really like the idea of him cursing you if you divorce him. 'not a very mature way to express anger' my ass#clint... i need to marry him...#there's a mod which makes his storyline WAYYY too similar to shane for my liking#with him going to therapy and stuff#but it DID make him realize being around emily makes him uncomfortable which i really like#i think a good route for him to go down would be him recognizing that what he feels for emily is not love or even desire#it's anxiety. emily is nice to him which makes him uncomfortable because no one is nice to him#which he confuses for attraction and he confuses her kindness for reciprocation#i think if emily ever asked him out he would turn her down#like emily would come up to you and be like 'hey i realize clint has a crush on me and i think it's really sweet so i'm gonna ask him out'#and then she does and he just goes 'O-O erm... no thank you...'#which confuses emily but she accepts being turned down and later on#clint talks to you about it like 'i thought that was what i wanted but her asking me out made me really uncomfortable and i don't know why'#and in a romance route he gets with you specifically because you make him feel calm :)#originally i wanted to say this was my most controversial stardew opinion but a LOT of people hate shane. so#also emily shouldn't have won the poll either!!!#sandy would have been a MUCH better option to flesh out her character and the desert more#marnie would have been interesting considering her relationship with mayor lewis#and i hate penny so i would fuck her mom out of spite lmaoooo

If you use one of the hunger/weather mods the beginning of the game is absolutely brutal. Since you need to eat you can't sell too many things so profit is slow. Being hungry or cold for too long means you lose health or stamina.
So the farmer, canonically a kid who came to the valley with no farming experience, no money and with just the clothes on their back, spends weeks stumbling around the town cold, hungry, ill and injured while everybody bullies them.
"Isn't it kinda funny that the new kid who looks like they're about to fall over has to eat from the trash? Better tell them that their parsnips smell bad!"
You go to bed hungry and wake up with half the stamina so you can't chop trees down for wood and can't warm the farmhouse so you end up ill. You have to eat most of your crops so you have no money for seeds. Most of the time is spent on trying to not starve, you barely get enough food/wood to survive the next day, actual progress is rare. Almost no one in town wants to talk with you. Pierre lies about the few things you sell and everyone believes him. Andy tells you to give up and go back to the city. The flower dance feels a lot harsher now.
#you also have everyone in the adventuring community being dicks for no reason too#no one likes you and you suffer a lot#its an odd experience#stardew mods

A/N: Written on: October 3, 2022Â
look, ive lived in the country a good chunk of my life but I have not even a HINT of a green thumb so I will put my woes on Elliott and have him suffer with meÂ
âââââ ââ
ââ
â âââââ
Elliott had a way with words, but he wasnât quite sure how those same words landed him where he was todayâin fact, he was fairly certain he ended up somewhere he was simply not built for. Â
The sun had its eyes just barely above the horizon, causing Elliott to shield his own-- peeking ever so slightly through his fingers at the scenery that awaited him. It was serene, beautiful; such a vast change of pace to what he was used to, and it was very welcomed. How he ever got so lucky to find love with the Farmer, he would never know, but waking up after a night stayed at their farm was such a nice, emotional reset. He sighed lovingly when he felt their touch brush across his back. Â
âGood morning, my love.â Â
âGood morning,â they leaned in for a short kiss before leaning against the porch railing beside him, âyouâre up early.â Â
âThe sun was calling me today.â Â
âFunny, it called me too. Only,â they sighed and stood straight, stretching a bit, âit called me in for work. What do you think youâll do today?â Â
It was when they hopped off of the farmhouse porch and stood just a little below him that he noticed them dressed and ready for the day of hard work ahead of them. The dew had only just set, yet, they stood tall and light on their toes as they just barely bounced between the balls of their feet a tad bit antsy. Elliottâs heart skipped a beat and couldnât help the loving smile that grew on his lips. Â
âHmm, I suppose Iâll work as well. Is there something I can help you with, darling?â Â
Their eyes widened with surprise, quickly closing to make way for their reassuring smile.Â
âYou donât need to help, itâs alright. Iâve got it.âÂ
âOh, come on. Donât trust me?âÂ
âItâs not that--âÂ
âThen?âÂ
The Farmer sighed and hung their head a bit in shame, an apologetic smile on their lips. Elliott had no time to be upset by their words, though, as a light-hearted laugh bubbled up through his chest. He shook his head to dispel their worries; a kind smile crawled into the creases around his eyes as he spoke again.Â
âWorry not. I may not be very versed in the ways of farming, but surely thereâs something I can do to ease your workload? Anything at all? Iâd really like to help you out, my love.âÂ
The Farmerâs lips twisted to the side in thought as they looked around at the vast land and various crops growing behind them. It was almost like Elliott could see the exclamation mark appear above their head when an idea came to them; they turned back to him so quickly with a large smile and gestured towards the growing patch of watermelons a bit across the way.Â
âWell, some of those should be ready to go, if youâd like to pick them! You can pick the ripe ones and soon as Iâm done over in the radishes, Iâll come by with the wheelbarrow.â Â
Elliott stared out at the patch of green, appearing zoned out and stoic. The Farmerâs smile waivered a bit as they noticed his indifference and quickly spoke again.Â
âUm, if thatâs okay with you? You donât have to, obviously--âÂ
âOh,â Elliott snapped out of his trance and shook his head. âOf course itâs okay, I was just admiring, is all. Iâll go ahead and get started then, darling. Iâll see you soon.âÂ
He quickly left the farmhouse porch, kissing the Farmerâs cheek just as quickly before speeding off towards the patch of watermelons. The Farmer followed him with their eyes, their eyebrows furrowing in confusion before shaking it off and heading towards their own patch of ready to harvest crops. Â
âââââââââââââââââââÂ
Elliott was definitely not in his element. Â
Standing in the middle of the patch, he had no idea which watermelons were ready to pick, and which had more maturing to do. They all looked greenâsurely it wasnât a matter of colour? Or was it? Was he to count the lines on the melon and see if they hit a certain amount? No, that was ridiculous. Regardless, Elliott had never had the pleasure of growing nor harvesting his own watermelon, among other things, and was definitely lost. He could pick a good one out at the market! But harvesting? Certainly, a whole different ball game. They had to be just a bit before being perfectly ripe so they could ripen a bit in the bin before selling, right? But, just how much before they were perfectly ripe should they be pulled? Or, did they have to be pre-ripe at all? He didnât know! Elliott swallowed and sighed heavily. Why didnât he simply ask his partner what he was looking for? Why must pride get in his way? Â
He looked among the melon patch again, looking for at least one to go based off of. His eyes landed on one melonâa bit on the small sizeâbut it seemed to be the perfect shade of green; the stripes were nice and dark, not too many of them, and the melon was almost so perfectly round. That was it! The perfect melon, he thought. Elliott cut it from the stem and rolled it out into the open and moved to the next nice one a few melons down. He continued going up and down the lines picking the nice, hand-sized, rounder melons and skipping ones he considered too small, and ones he considered too large, not green enough, or oval shaped.Â
Wiping the sweat from his brow, he stood up straight with his hands on his hips, chest puffed out in pride. It wasnât very many melons, he thought to himself, just a handful. Would that be enough for the Farmer? He bit the inside of his cheek as he thought about it a bit more, though his thoughts were cut off once the Farmer walked up behind him with the wheelbarrow and called out to him.Â
âHey! Done already?â Â
âOh, there you are!â Elliott turned to them with a smile so big it threatened to crack his face in half. âYou worked fairly quick as well.â Â
âYeah, not a lot of them were very ripe so I didnât have too many to grab. Itâs been a good hour, though, Elliott.âÂ
âHas it been?â Elliott exclaimed, completely flabbergasted. âI guess the time really flew by. I guess thatâs what you mean when you say there really feels like there isnât enough time in the day.âÂ
âI told you! The day just flies right on by!â They moved to stand next to him and linked their arm with his. âLet's take a look at the haul today!âÂ
The Farmer finally looked across the field and grew quiet, a deadpan look on their face, unbeknownst to Elliott. He had puffed his chest out again, every inch of him filling with pride, readying himself for praise from his love; when silence filled the air, he deflated a bit and grew a bit shy, now sweating a bit from nerves. He swallowed a bit and looked at the Farmerâs face, noticing the deadpan expression being contradicted by the way they bit their lip and shook from trying not to do... something. Were they going to cry? Were they going to yell? Did he do it wrong? Elliott started to apologize profusely.Â
âIâm so sorry, darling! I ruined it, didnât I? I messed up and ruined your crops, Iâm so very sorry--âÂ
He was cut off by the Farmer finally cracking; a genuine, hearty laugh bursting from their chest. They had folded over, clutching Elliottâs arm with one hand to keep stable as the other held their stomach so they didnât bust at the seams with how hard they were laughing. It was Elliottâs turn to stand there with a deadpan expression, unsure of how to react. Â
âIâm-- Iâm sorry,â they stumbled through laughter as they tried to speak. âItâs just, itâs just so funny.âÂ
âIâm so glad my incompetence can provide you with entertainment.â Â
âOh, Elliott.â The Farmer took a few deep breaths, working to calm themselves down before patting him lovingly on the chest. âDonât be like that. You have to admit, it is pretty funny. None of the ones you cut are ripe, what was the thought process?âÂ
âThey were green. They had good looking stripes. They were round. They were reasonably sized.âÂ
âElliott...â The Farmer stifled a laugh again. âYou were half way there.â Â
Elliott turned his chin up away from them; he didnât want to face them because he was embarrassed, ashamed, and honestly felt fairly bad. He really did ruin a good portion of their crop, didnât he? He cost them a pretty penny, he was sure; how would he pay them back? How would he make up for it? Why were they laughing rather than getting mad at himâhe would be distraught if the roles had been reversed. His false pride completely deflated and he hung his head, sighing once again and mumbling out another apology.Â
âIâm genuinely very sorry, dear.â His ears started to burn red with embarrassment. âTruly. Is there a way youâd like me to repay you? How much would it cost to replace them?âÂ
âElliott, really, itâs fine.â They cupped his face and gently coaxed him into looking at them, a loving smile greeted him. âItâs okay. It really isnât that badâit's just a few of them. No need to keep apologizing.âÂ
They kissed the tip of his nose, gently nuzzling their own against his until he slowly returned the gesture, loosening the stress he held in his shoulders. Â
âAre you sure?â His voice sounded defeated.Â
âAbsolutely sure.â Another kiss to his nose. âLet me show you which ones to pick. Iâve got some neat tricks up my sleeve to picking the ripe ones!â Â
Elliott sighed, but gave an exasperated smile, promising to perk up once he moved past his embarrassment. He followed behind, dragging his feet slightly as they went along, coming to the first watermelon he deemed unpickable. It was fairly large, oval, and definitely lopsided. He rejected it for its size, thinking it was far past the presentable state as it would be too big to carryâat least to his home on the beach. They crouched down and encouraged him to join.Â
âSee, itâs nice and big, so it doesnât need to do any extra growing; they donât keep growing on the shelf, after all.â Another embarrassment struck Elliott in the heart. âThe real tell on all ripe watermelons though, is the patch of discoloration here on the bottom.âÂ
When they lifted the melon, Elliott could see a fairly sized yellow patch, varying in degrees of shades. It looked ugly, imperfect, and not like the ones he had picked at all. He gave them a sideways glare, confused and skeptical. They laughed when they caught a glimpse of it and gave the melon a good pat.Â
âSee, the patch means itâs been on the ground long enough to be nice and ripe when you crack into it. Too yellowâtoo ripeâgrainy, gross, no flavour. Brownâway too ripe-- rotten, even. No yellow spotâit isnât up to its full potential, and when it ripens on the shelf, it wonât be as good as it should be. This sweet, sweet middle,â another pat to the watermelon, âgives you the sweet, sweet watermelon.â Â
â...This... ugly little spot is the tell for the watermelon?âÂ
âItâs ugly but it does the job.â Â
â...And youâre sure about this?âÂ
âElliott, have you never picked a watermelon up at the market?âÂ
âNow that you mention it, I donât remember if I have.âÂ
âWell, if the âugly little spotâ isnât good enough for you, try tapping it.â Â
The Farmer leaned down slightly to get a better ear on it and knocked their knuckles against it. Elliott leaned down as well, listening in to a bit of a hollow sound.Â
âSee? Just like a door. The best, ripe melons will be hollow sounding. They will also, unfortunately, not be as green. A nice, dull colour; an ugly melon is a good melon on the inside.âÂ
âAn ugly melon.âÂ
âIt has a nice personality.âÂ
âDoes it now?âÂ
âWell, we can crack this one open and test the theory.â Â
The Farmer laughed and leaned into Elliott, stealing a small kiss from his lips as he sat on his heels staring at the melon with pure doubt. They pulled him up by his hand after cutting the melon from its vine and put their hands on their hips. A bright smile thrown his way was enough to perk Elliott up from moping as he leaned in to kiss them this time.Â
âThere you are! I was wondering when you were going to get out of that head of yours.âÂ
âItâs a very crowded place. Hard to navigate.âÂ
âIâm sure it is, oh great writer. Come on, help me pick the rest of the melons and put them in the bin, then we can pick out the best of the bunch just for ourselves, as a treat!âÂ
âWhat is a good melon if not fuel for our hard-earned labour?âÂ
âOkay, maybe Iâll get the watermelon instead and you will have none.âÂ
âYou knew this was a thing before I courted you, my dear. Do not act like it is new.âÂ
Elliott laughed as the Farmer stuck their tongue out at him in good humour. He leaned in for one more kiss before the Farmer took off down the line of crops playfully running from him, taunting him to catch up or heâd have to push the wheelbarrow. Â
He watched for a moment before following after them, a smile on his face the entire time. He was certainly out of his elementâand he had no idea how his words brought him here today, but he was beyond thankful to be here with his love, and he was ready and willing to learn everything there was about the farming business if it meant he got to stay. Â

Hello!
This is an introduction post explaining this project and hopefully garnering some attention!
đ„ What's this about?
This is a fanzine by Shane fans, for Shane fans. It's a fan project to appreciate this character, his story, and his growth, and how much it means to a lot of us who have been through similar things.
đ„ How will this work?
Like most other zines! The project will begin on a certain date, and artists and writers will have several months to complete a piece of their choosing for the fanzine. We will use discord to communicate, schedule, and smooth out any issues.
đ„ When is the projected release?
I think aiming for spring 2024 would be nice! It'd be nice to release the zine around when Shane's birthday would be.
đ„Will this be a paid zine?
This is a charity zine to raise money for the mental health charity Samaritans! Samaritans is a charity that operates free and confidential phone lines for people to reach out and talk to someone whenever they're having a difficult time. They provide a listening service for those who may be suffering from suicidal thoughts or otherwise unpleasant feelings. Donations will be raised via ko-fi during a certain fundraising period and after that's over, the zine will go free to download.
đ„What format is this zine in?
The zine will be formatted to A4 paper size, HOWEVER this zine will only run digitally and will not have a print release as things stand. (Mod honestly can't afford a print release as cool as that would be...)
đ„Who can join?
Almost anyone can join! There is no requirement on skill, online following, previous zine experience etc. If this is your first zine, that's awesome! We welcome you with open arms. This is a zine for anyone who has ever struggled with their mental health, and has felt comforted by a certain stardew valley character. I do require that contributors be at least 13+. Not only would it be against discord terms of service to have under 13s on the platform, but mod here, as a fully grown adult, would also be uncomfortable with it - sorry!
đ„Are there any other rules right now?
There are a few! Let's list them, and please read carefully.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, fatphobia, and anything else that falls into similar categories. ZERO. This is non-negotiable. This is a safe space and anyone displaying any of the above will be kicked off the project.
That said, proship, comship, darkship etc are not welcome on this zine. This is a safe space for everyone, including minors, survivors, and everyone else.
This is a SFW zine. There will be no NSFW art or writing included.
Every artist and writer is free to depict Shane as they like. If they choose to depict him as trans, POC, mlm, or anything else for the sake of representation, that is their choice and you must respect it. See the first bullet point about zero tolerance.
Ableism also extends to bigotry toward those suffering with mental illness, and addicts. We are trying to promote empathy and acceptance. Ableist comments will be warned (e.g. complaining about Shane's room being messy).
Your piece must include Shane as the focal point! That should be clear already, but just in case! So long as he's the focal point, you can draw or write anything! Ships are allowed.
đ„How do I get involved?
For now, I have an interest check form that I plan to run until the end of September! After that, contributor sign ups will open. Remember to follow this blog to see updates on the zine! You can also send questions to my inbox and I will do my best to answer them. For now, here is the interest check:

Some Morris headcanons.
Weâve not seen all his SDVE & MM cutscenes yet, and we donât get along with the interpretation of the Marry Morris mod so it wonât align with his past from that at all. Despite this, it may take inspiration from all three versions.
âą Autistic. Undiagnosed, and I think heâd give you a sour look if you suggested he is. Found most in his love for numbers, his special interest in his work, his social abilities, and his poor interoception. Take a break, Morris, please.
âą More of a logical thinker than emotional, but has the ability to be highly empathetic in his own way. He can be coaxed into this with a good influence in his life, but heâs similarly susceptible to being made worse by bad influences. Heâs always been a bit cocky and self-sure from a young age, and Joja influence has made that so much worse.
âą Grew up relatively lower class; parents often worried on money due to low-paying dead-end jobs. Being autistic & observant, this instilled the high importance of money in life very rigidly in his brain, and from a very young age.
âą Morris believed his familyâs money problems- frankly- to be a skill issue. A mixture of poor finances and a belief that they simply werenât trying hard enough. And he proved it. He joined Joja as a low rank employee, and with a mixture of determination, tactics, logical social understanding, and concerning levels of overworking, he quickly raised their ranks.
âą As he became part of the Joja family, he grew bitter towards his actual family. He never formally cut them off, but his work hours meant that outside family and friends were no longer necessary; he spoke to people within the company, and they were far more lucrative to associate with.
âą Disconnected from his old life, he also began to forget his roots. Few would guess the man had been anything but middle-class growing up (although those raised with money can often tell immediately in the way he presents himself; he tries too hard). Despite this, he has his moments where he remembers where he came from, the nights they couldnât heat the house, the nights there was less food on his parentsâ plates. Unfortunately acting on these bouts of kindness usually comes off as pity, suspicious, or a Joja ploy to drive sales, and it isnât appreciated by anyone more genuine.
âą He honestly does believe in the Joja Corporation. In their vision. Rural towns like Stardew are stuck in the past, and Joja are there to help them. Theyâre the good guys, and anyone who doesnât see that is less intelligent and can be convinced with time. Anyone can be convinced if he just tries harder. He just needs to explain it better, obviously. And if that doesnât work, he quickly learnt that money does.
âą He likes to think heâs not as disposable as the lower ranks, and a part of his power trip and overworking is to manage the knowledge that he could be replaced if they wanted him gone. The more importance he brings to the company, the more they canât drop him. Joja is his life, and the thought of losing it is enough to spiral him into a meltdown.
âą He detests Joja Cola because he can taste the chemicals vividly. Despite being rather open that he doesnât like it with some, heâll lie his teeth off about it to corporate. Dobson is one of the only other Joja employees around his rank that knows he finds the stuff foul, and unfortunately those two are frenemies so heâs routinely forced to drink the stuff when visiting Corporate in the city.
âą His glasses have a filter on them that help him deal with the utterly despicable fluorescent lighting of the Joja store. It gives him frequent headaches without them. If theyâre not at the end of his nose for once, and are actually covering his eyes, that man is suffering silently.
âą oh, and this man is whatever the Stardew Equivalent of British is. Perhaps weâre bias, but I cannot imagine him with anything other than an English accent. This accent is very potentially fake.
I think thatâs all of them for now. Iâve no idea if it aligns with the general fandom interpretation of Morris, but I thought Iâd add them to the pool in our bout of 5am sleep troubles. Half of it is probably projecting from our experiences as a salesperson/with money/what could have been if weâd dropped our morals.
#our ask box is back open by the way; if anyone has questions#oh and-#no hate on the Marry Morris mod by the way; itâs just not our sort of take#sdv Morris#Morris sdv#Stardew Valley#SDV#headcanon

sometimes the fact that cyanide narwhal childe is from whatâs basically our world haunts me, like he plays games, he mightâve played the same games Iâve played (genshin doesnât count cause heâs also from there) what kinda games does he like??
and like does he ever just, quote a vine? Use some modern slang without thinking about it? Iâm sure if he does itâs to the absolute confusion of those around him
did he have a favorite book series growing up? Is there a tv show he particularly likes?
honestly sorry for unloading all of this unto you, itâs genuinely been on my mind for quite a while (and itâs 4 am so I kinda just went for it)
oh yeah he absolutely sometimes slips on slang and stuff. sometimes it's harmless and he doesn't even bother explaining or waves it away like nevermind, but sometimes he has to sit there and explain to guizhong and morax why no, he doesn't think the duck flock is a bunch of chickens, see there's this joke back in his world-
like there's already i think a couple of times where modern words make it out on cyanide, but i think i kept it to a minimum. i'm pretty sure he uses the expression 'ferry' by the end of the fic and has to backtrack and re-explain hahah
honestly i think more than slang or quotes (he will do both once he's not focused on the mission and his brain returns to like. essentially weekend mode) i think it'll come thru in the form of music more than anything. i think if you leave him without conversation and with an easy task he WILL start humming or whistling, and he will be humming or whistling modern songs from modern shows and videogames and pop music.
as for what he liked, i think i did mention atla and mdzs at some point. if he liked mdzs then you can probably add like- tgcf and svsss to that list. not sure if he'd sit down to suffer for 2ha tbh. might sit through tyk/woh's live action if he watched mdzs on netflix tho i think he mentions minecraft at some point. probably played stardew valley, too (probably married either elliott or leah or used a mod to marry the wizard). i think he would've liked monster hunter and shadow of the colossus and like- horizon. but i genuinely think he would've gravitated towards more casual games since his job took up so much of his time and he used games to chill and relax. so like. slime rancher too, maybe. but also subnautica (p sure it wouldn't land as horror on him) that said i want to say the man did play wadanohara when he was younger, like immediately upon being given his own fatui-assigned flat at like 16. it just seems like some hole he'd fall into. i would've said he'd have watched made in abyss but that would make no sense bc then i would've been obligated to have him make direct references to it since y'know. the abyss. for non xianxia shows i think he would've had to have watched at least a couple of isekai to know what that word even is (or a couple of other anime too tbh). i can't think of one in specific rn but i want to say gto and sailor moon for classics. obviously some other modern ones but can't think of one rn. maybe like... honestly? the one where bakarina is from, i forget the name. i think he would've eaten up the villaness genre once it started gaining popularity. and the ghibli movies of course, he does mention chihiro at some point. other non-anime shows too but i can't really think of one in specific rn. probably something CSI adjacent. or a couple of the avenger movies. or just. you know, mathilda.
i genuinely cannot see him being that much of a book reader BUT i do think he would've turned into an avid ao3 user post mdzs.
#no worries it was a fun ask to answer!#thank you!!#also yes sometimes i had to remind myself that the guy i was writing was not canon childe#given everything around him was more canon-like it would sometimes slip my mind hahah;;

I'm back...?
Sorry for being gone for so long, but you know how life happens! The flu really knocked it out of me, then we ended up gutting our living room and completely redoing it.
THEN we went away for a lovely week somewhere hot and sunny.
And then, despite having a lovely time away, depression is a right old cunt and sneaks up on you at the most inopportune times! It happens when life is going well and you think you should be happy with everything, but NOPE. And the fact that it comes at a time when you feel like you should be happy makes it worse, because then you feel selfish for being depressed because why should you be? Life is good.....well, apart from that stupid imbalance of chemicals in your brain that tells you you're worthless, you're a burden and you DESERVE to be unhappy and suffer because you're an awful person.
But the depression ebbs and flows - I think I'm coming out of the other side for now?
In terms of sims... I've been poking around with a build for a few days. I've not been inspired to do many makeovers or gameplay. I might wait for the new pack to come out, and see what that brings (other than probably disappointment). Maybe I'll do a little love themed let's play, who knows?
I've mainly been playing Stardew Valley, because HOT DAMN that game is amazing. I've been playing it on PC and switch. The switch is nice because it's so portable, but gosh darn do I miss the Look Up Anything mod and the Range Highlight.
I've had some asks in my inbox for a while, so I will get round to those eventually!
Sorry, this post is long enough: TLDR; I'm lurking. For now. Watch this space đ

HARUHIKO BEING THE âI love you songâ FROM THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE IS SO REAL!!!!! Anyways, đ« anon back with a silly idea
I was thinking about Kirby Star Allies and how they kiss to share health. Maybe the reader is trying to cheer up their crush while theyâre sad and kisses them?
[For characters, feel free to choose any you want but if you need some characters, could you do Haruhiko, Yuki (sdra2) and Teryua (dra)? ]
Hello đ« Anon! How are you doing? Iâm so sorry I didnât get to this quicker, Iâve been playing Stardew Vally for the past week, Iâm trying to romance Abigail or Elliot. And itâs not going great.
So another apology since itâs 4am and i canât read, i completely forgot about Teruya. But Yuki and Haruhikoâs were basically the chapter four angst pack.
Reminder my requests are CLOSED and I will be deleting any requests that have been sent in while they are closed. Thank you.
WARNING: SPOILERS; ANGST; HURT/COMFORT(?); UTSURO!YUKI (KINDA)
~ Mod Haruhiko âïž
Haruhiko Kobashikawa
You were concerned, you were starving, you were in pain, you were suffering. Youâd thought about killingâ how easy it would be to grab a gun from the arsenal and shoot the short bastard. But Kinjo always being in the arsenal made you rethink. You didnât want to provoke him.
You were dying, but so was everyone else. Mikako was still the same inside the ballroom. Akane was the same as well but you could see her sweet demeanor cracking by the day. And Haruhiko, he was trying to act as typically but he was guilty and clearly cracking as well.
While he would rant to you or to anyone who asked about the vintage guns and how they came into place in their respective histories to anyone who listened. Haruhiko had been one of the food thieves and he had even shared a few scraps with you.Â
âS/O.â Haruhikoâs face was out of the ordinary. The emotion conveyed on it was one of lamentation. His voice was shaking, this wasnât the confident act that Haru had been putting on for the past whileâ this was the scared teenage boy who blamed himself for killing Kyoka.
He was also gripping something in his pocket.
âIâm so sorry, S/O. This is all my fault, if I hadnât been stealing the food, if I hadnât ate so much food in the beginning, if I was as smart as Kinjoâ or Mekaru.â Haruhiko went on. The frown on his face was imminent. You were in your private room.
Your words wouldnât likely convince him. But you had an idea to cheer the pervert up even slightlyâ something was better than nothing. You cupped his cheek and placed a small peck on the corner of his lips. It was supposed to go on his lips but you were so shaky from hungry you hadnât kissed him properly. You swore internally that you would someday.
âThis may seem hard for you Haru, but you arenât the problem, not in Maki-Higaâs case, not in the ballroom and especially not with your parents.â
âY-you saw it too?â Haruhiko eyeâs glittered. His lips parted and he had a blush on his face as if he was astounded by the mere kiss.
âSaw what?â
Yuki MaedaÂ
Pacing in the frigid cold, endlessly scanning over the books that was only stuffed with random nonsensical gibberish. Thatâs what Yuki had been doing a few days prior. Half of you vaguely wished you were still stuck in the conference room. Maybe then he wouldnât have died and Yuki wouldnât have been so⊠strange.
Yuki had been shell shocked moments prior at the revelation of Shinji being dead. Shaking like he had done something wrong but now⊠he was having the complete opposite of an emotional break.
âYukiâŠâ
ââŠâ No response.
âYuki Maeda..?â You called out him to once again.Â
This time Yuki had shifted his body to slightly face you, his dull brown were glaring at you and it was utter juxtaposition in the fact that his freckled cheeks were still had tear stains on them.
âYuki, I canât convince you that itâll be okay. But I believe in us, alright? We have lost Shinji but we still have Sora, Nikei, Yoruko and you always have me. Iâll always be here for you. And I know I canât make it better but Iâm here for you.â You tried to comfort the best you could and leaned in and pressed a kiss on his forehead.
ââŠâ Yuki didnât say anything but he stared. Gears were churning behind his brown eyes. Ones that looked so full of sorrow and despair. Moments later Yuki shell shocked attitude had hit him once again in full force. Tears were coming from his eyes again.
You werenât sure if it was the best thing to do but alas, you pulled Yuki closer to your figure. Tracing names of place and phases of the moon into his back. And he held you back so much tighter. Trying so hard to decipher whether or not you were really there.
âPleaseâ donât⊠please donât die.â Yuki sobbed.

I have a few :>
1. Do you plan to reference Hisui in any way? The events before or after Ingo disappearing or perhaps even foreshadowing?
2. The question probably on everyone's Minds: will you be able to marry/date both of the twins? Will there be special heart events for both of them as well?
3. Will the other townies make reference to the twins in their dialogue or will we have special events with one or more characters with the twins in them? (e.i: the joja cola commercial with Shane, Clint and Emily).
4. Will he be able to go inside the train station?
5. will we see Emmet's giant horde of joltiks?!
6. Will other people be allowed to make portraits of the twins?
You don't have to answer every one of them
I'm sorry asdfghjkll I'm just really excited about the mod,
i've played over 600 hours of stardew valley and I also adore Ingo and Emmet
Thank you for the ask!! This is quite long so I'm putting them under a readmore.... I hope I answered your questions well enough!!
1. Just a bit of foreshadowing! We do intend on making a Hisui expansion later down the line, but we are currently focusing on just making their pre-Hisui storyline for now!
2. Of course the twins will be datable! I started making the mod because I couldn't wait for Pokemon Masters EX to add them in and decided to just make the submas dating simulator myself haha... Stardew's base game doesn't allow for marrying more than one character at a time and currently there are no references to dating both at the same time (we still have a Lot of dialogue to write in general...). I do know that there are mods that allow you to marry multiple characters but I personally have not tried them myself (I read that your spouses would kiss each other and and quickly departed.... please do not try to make them do that. This is a no blankshipping zone. If anyone deliberately tries to use the mod for incest purposes, you will be tied to the tracks and promptly ran over). For now, the heart progression will assume that you are only going to date/marry one of the twins. If there is enough demand (or if someone else wants to write it....) another "route" could be made later on that has them acknowledging you dating each other? It would be difficult to implement since daily dialogue is tied to individual heart levels and there's not much I can do about having them acknowledge you dating the other in the base mod.
Up until you officially date them, they will simply just be very good friends with you (and a bit obsessive... they're quite lonely in Pelican Town and you're one of the few people who don't turn them away! Can you blame them for becoming so attached?). Emmet's heart progression will consist of him not quite knowing how he feels other than that you are verrrry important to him and will be verrrry similar to Nemona's friendship in scar/vio (if you know... you know) until you decide to date him. Ingo will suffer from his repressed feelings of love and write secret admirer letters to you to cope, all while ensuring that you can he is very much grateful for your friendship... he is a gentleman and wouldn't want to make you uncomfortable with his feelings so directly!
3. The other townspeople will acknowledge their existences! We are still working on specifics, but they will interact with them. Most characters are wary of them and their pokemon, so it will take time for them to warm up, but they are liked by Jas, Vincent, and Granny Evelyn (who will mention having a Bellossom long ago...).
4. The train station will be enterable! Still working out the details for that too, but we intend to make it sort of like the Community Center... We do also want to add quests to improve the exterior of the train station too (there's so much.... dirt.... it's so ugly....)
5. Most likely?? I still have a lot of spriting to do!! There will be joltiks though!
6. You are more than welcome to make your own portraits! The portraits that I drew up are too big to fit inside the vanilla game dimensions (64x64 pixels... tiny...) so I have to use portraiture to load them in (otherwise it loads the resized versions I have implemented... which are quite blurry ^^;). If anyone wants to make vanilla sized portraits to be added into the base mod then then please let me know! If you also make your own portrait mod, I would be happy to link to it when I release the mod. Though... do be aware that the portrait sheets this mod has the dialogue coded for are quite long. Here are the full portrait sheets:
#subway to stardew#mail car connecting line#thylak art#I do have to admit that I'm reluctant to write them in a situation where you're dating both of them#it just feels weird to me since I wouldn't like someone going after me and my siblings at the same time ^^;;;#unsure as to how familiar everyone is with nemona.....#my bestie who stalks me and wants to keep me all to herself because that's what best friends do <3

something about verity doesn't make sense to me. why would they love morris if he's so devoted to the company they hate?
{This is fixing to be a long answer, I am SO SORRY, you have indulged the hyperfixation fr, I could talk for hours about this man! }
Mostly, Verity's reasoning is based around how I'm setting up the story for them, and how I head canon Morris would be as a multifaceted character. There's a few mods out there that do this already- add in more personality and reason behind him & his actions in-game than the vanilla game allows him- such as Morris Redeemed and Marry Morris. {Great mods, even if it's for the bit, I'd recommend trying them out and seeing the awesome work the people who made them put in!}
Anyway, Morris absolutely feels like a cartoonish, over-the-top bad guy. He's meant to be the overall "villain" of Stardew, a personification of Joja itself as the big scummy company, so it makes sense. Surface level personality of "he's just evil to be evil", not meant to be taken seriously at all, he's written exactly as he's intended to be for vanilla game. He's great as just that!
So, of course, it's not necessary to ask the questions "What if he's not actually just a big ol' greedy scumbag? What if there's more to it?", but it's so FUN to.
Therefore, for Verity's story, the answer is a resounding: yes, there's more to it. I'm definitely going to end up leaning into the fact that he DOES feel like the personification of Joja, not because he likes it, but because {like Verity at one point in time} he felt like Joja would bring him the life he wanted/wants.
Being over-the-top for his job just seemed like the right way to go about that for him, so he's constantly pushing for membership cards, hounding his employees to put in 100% of their effort just like he is. He's the manager of the whole store; his job rides on their performance in Joja's eyes just as much as THEIR jobs ride on his & their own performances. So, he performs. And he presses those who work with and under him to perform, too. It's a constant, monotonous, day-to-day show in order to keep the one Joja store in this small, barely-make-a-profit town floating. Those above him press him about how they'll tear the store down if that store doesn't meet the quota Joja wants- that if he doesn't get another membership to build that warehouse and please Joja corp., he's screwed, and on top of that, the employees who rely on the paycheck that Joja provides them are ALSO screwed.
Poor Shane is obviously crumbling apart at the seams as is, and the last thing Morris wants to do is fail these employees of his.
He cares about the people in the Valley, it's just that he's been made to believe that allowing a corporation like Joja to treat himself and others as less-than-human, forcing them to consistently and constantly mask any "undesirable" traits/behaviors in order to continue making the company the highest profit they can, please the company as a whole, put the store on some kind of corporate radar, will bring himself and others a good and happy existence. That the Joja brand suffering is normal, and worth it. Please the system, and the system will be good to you.
Except, it isn't, and it won't. Joja is a company that will use you up, and spit you out without care the moment you disappoint their already too-high expectations. The opening scene, after all, is of the office space Verity came from- constant surveillance to make sure every second is spent working, high turnover, and a significant lack of warmth and life in the building. It is cold, imposing, and highly stress-inducing. It's not a stretch to imagine that {playing off of some things in the Marry Morris mod} Morris had been unable to attend his father's funeral, and isn't able to visit his mother very often. That's something Verity can relate to him on. They didn't get much, if any, off-time from Joja, and their interpersonal relationships {not to mention their relationship with themself} suffered for it. Just because Verity hates the company, doesn't mean they hate or should/would be hateful to those that are still stuck working for it; they aren't the kind of person to take somebody's actions/behavior purely at face value, even if they aren't happy with what they did. It doesn't take hating a person to ask them if they're really happy with the conditions they're living under, if their job is really worth the cost it brings them- it takes actually caring enough to bother asking. That's what Verity brought to the metaphorical table for Morris; someone who could understand where he's coming from, even if they refused to fit in his static worldview. Someone willing to hold a conversation about whys and hows and what fors, instead of "you're just another shitty boss, and underneath that, you're just another shitty person; I'll do everything I can to make sure you never have your way." Verity didn't work on the community center out of spite and/or hatred. They did it because they fully felt it was the right thing to do in order to aid and uplift the community they, also, care about, instead of forcing them to submit to whatever Joja wants. That included Morris, as a member of the community. It's a whole thing, that Morris in the end doesn't actually want what Joja wants; he wants what he, as an individual, wants, and what he wants is for everyone he cares about to be happy, healthy... thriving. TL;DR Verity went a route he didn't/couldn't bring himself to take, and when the Center was refurbished, he suffered a Character Arch:tm: and frienemies to lovers shenanigans ensued.

Hii~!
I had an idea for a wonderful headcanon that a farmer is a polyglot and can tease his partner in different languages, especially French or maybe Italian, when their partner just stands there with face like "đ?" and does not understand until they look into the translator and it's turn into "đł"
(I know that in the world of suffering there are no certain language clarifications or certain countries with reference to the real world, but still!)
Thanks a lot for the answer!
Heh... đ I like your headcanon.
Even though the Stardew Valley world isn't particularly clear about languages and accents (I can only imagine the Ferngill Republic and the Gotoro Empire speaking different languages, and.... that's all), but I really like the idea!
And you know, why make something up when the same Farmer can seduce the object of their affection, say, in elvish? Elves do exist in Stardew Valley, plus our grumpy elf Jio from Ridgeside Village mod does that if he dates Farmer.
I can already picture Farmer writing Elliott a love letter in another language. And when the writer went to the library to find a translator, what he translated made his cheeks turn pink throughout the reading.
Or how our gallant Lance tries to flirt with the Farmer again, but our Farmer ends up counterattacking him with a very strong and not-so-innocent phrase (tee hee đ), causing Lance to first go into a stupor and then blush a little (my personal headcanon that Lance knows a little Elvish).
Good idea, thanks for that! âșïž
#I dread to imagine how powerful a weapon this would be for the Farmer in bed with their lover đ#*AHEM*#anyway...#sve#sdv#rsv
