when it comes to cc hairs, do you like your mod maxis swatches to be overrides or just added on? I want to start recolouring hairs and I'm still unsure how I am going to add the swatches on.

hi anon! imma be honest with you; i don’t really tend to download cc hair recolors. i’m fine with ea’s colors for the most part, however, whenever a hair offers mod maxis colors instead of ea’s, i definitely prefer mod maxis!

if you need any help getting started with recoloring hair, feel free to hmu!

Respect

Sometimes, you think others are faking. You roll your eyes behind the screen, but keep your mouth shut. Who are you to ruin their fun, or otherwise to point out a deep flaw within their very being, a cry for help as their mind tumbles down around them, a product of a society who never cared for them?

Society is a cruel thing. We are locked within our cages, and shake our heads as we spot others in their prisons, unaware that our own hands are entangled in the bars that hold us back.

Unaware that we are left to be our own wardens.

Sometimes, you try to ignore that which you don’t understand. You don’t want to be ‘disrespectful’, so you pretend you are not on a world on which the Other exists. You do not even try to learn.

You don’t want to be ‘disrespectful’, so you show them no respect.

Sometimes, the only way to become respectful is through a twist of fate, in which it turns out the Other you tried to ignore, and the You that turned away from it, are one and the same. Then, finally, you learn. You Respect.

It shouldn’t have to be like that. And yet, we open that door, congratulating ourselves. Successful in nothing but widening our cage, making it to the next set of locked doors. Succeeding in nothing but looking at ourselves- never Others- as if we were the flat earth at the centre of the cosmos.

Even then, we do not look beyond the bars of our cage- we only recognise that which exists within.

hey! im not aware of anything modmaxis for the new packs. they've been sitting on my to-do list for a while now tho so i'll see if i can maybe do them this week or next week

Hi! I'm super new to making CC and recoloring things. I would love to start recolouring some of the non-recoloured packs with the modified maxis palette (e.g. Vintage Glamour and Bowling Night). I'm 99% finished doing 1 hair for Bowling Night and the modifed colours show in Sims4Studio but they don't show in CAS. Do you know why this is happening?

hey hun! 💙 i’m so happy to see that you’re getting into making cc! 💛 i hate to tell you this and make your progress feel ruined but all of the packs except for the star wars one have already been recolored in modmaxis (vintage glamor and bowling night can be found here). you can find the complete list of all the recolors for ea packs here. as for your cc not showing in cas issue, i'm not really sure what's happening. i would double check your mods folder and see if your package file is there, i forget to move my wip files into my mods folder a lot so that could be the case for you. sorry i couldn't be of more help! 💜

2. modmaxis for ea hairs or cc hairs?

3. if u want cc hairs, any specific creator?

4. for the tiny homes, any specific packs? (ie. bg only)

are you the only recolourist for ea hairs for mod max? ive been looking around for other packs and havent seen any so i was gonna do them myself but i also didnt wanna step on any toes and start working on something you had planned to do lol

as far as i’m aware, i’m the only one doing ea hairs atm!

Hi again! Sorry to bother you, but I've been trying to recolor the base game eyebrows with the Modified Maxis palette and some of my own colors but it doesn't seem to be working correctly, i think this is because of some/most of the actions using a fill layer. Could you please link or write a little tutorial on how to recolor eyebrows? I'm super duper stuck and confused.

hey! 💙 it sounds like you might be saving your files as .png, which prevents the modmaxis color actions from working properly when you import the file into s4s. this photoshop plugin allows you to save files in .dds format which is easier for recoloring hair. when recoloring hair (and most other stuff) you'll need to save it in DXT5 interpolated alpha, and for eyebrows you'll need to save it in 8.8.8.8 ARGB 32 bpp. the other alternative if you want to keep using .pngs would be to delete the background (leaving it transparent) and try importing it that way, but the .dds route is much easier tbh
