[oddly-specific-hermit-headcanons]

The Hermits have a big Winter dinner like a family dinner, everyone comes, and everyone brings a dish or multiple dishes, always something from their culture.

A few examples of what certain Hermits bring:

Etho brings Sweet berry juice, salas and pie,

Bdubs brings Glow berry Salad and Glow berry pie, the Hemrits were slightly concerend if his dishes would be too simalur to Ethos but Glow berries are surprisingly sour as the they found out.

Xisuma makes Courses fruit sauce, roasted shulker and coures flower cakes.

Tango always brings Smoked Hoglin, its big and flavour full and only three other hermits can eat it, Pearl, Grian and Impulse due to them not being able to taste spice like the other Hermits. If anyone else tried to eat it, they would die on the spot (Scar tried it they know it's true)

XB brings Seaweed salad and a lovely assortment of smoked fish

Whatever Mumbo brings is always covered in Redstone. Tango, Etho, Zed and Doc eat it claiming that its fine sometimes Redstone gets in their mouths when working its not that bad (None of them want to admit that they eat it as a snack, Impulse takes a small portion he doesn't like the taste of redstone as much as the others)

Speaking of Impulse, he always brings Devilled eggs AL-WAYS.

Now on to the real fun one.

It's Joel's first big group dinner where he's excepted to bring something, he doesn't want to bring any Ogre dishes as there a bit of an acquired taste, so he decides to do a 180 and bring Fae dishes that he often makes with Lizzie.

Lizzie loves this so they get to work making deserts planning on making 1 or 2 except they end up making 38.

Every time their half way through one they think of another they like start making it then repeat until 38.

So Joel sneakily loads up the desert table and see that its a lot fuller than what their used to, so everyone who contributed to desert talks about what they brought to figure out where all this came from.

Etho, Bdubs and X say their usual, Pearl says she made a Pavlova, Skizz very happily announces he made an Angels food cake, and so on untill their left with the 38 deserts, thats when Joel very proudly announce that he and Lizzie made them.

This does two things 1) It baffels the Hermits because what? Joel made 38 deserts with Lizzie what? and 2) Marks him as a Desert man, someone they can go to to get good quality sweets.

Everyone leaves with at least one desert and Joels ego grew 3 sizes that day.

please take this with a grain of salt because this comes from someone who likely does not have ASPD, but who does have some ASPD traits along with having NPD and having either BPD or BPD traits (+ also has a friend with ASPD who I've discussed many of those with).

imo (+ in some other people's opinions), here are some characters that have some realistic ASPD traits, in no particular order:

(disclaimer: the quality of the representations is always debatable and exactly how good or how bad/ableist the rep is may be subjective and depends on the viewpoints and experiences of each individual)

Bibi Reden from I Love Amy (protagonist, healthy growth ending, without unrealistically losing her aspd traits or such. low-masking, except when she wants to be manipulative, which is often. by the end, she gets into a romantic relationship that grows in a healthy direction with a girl. identified as a 'yandere', but very much seems to be written and characterized with ASPD in mind. definitely a sympathetic portrayal that also touches in sanism and such. also has BPD traits.)

Sera Himeura from ib: instant bullet (not the protag, but one of the major characters. parents loved her, but was neurodivergent by genetics. hero complex, strong superficial desire to become justice/heroic. very heavily implied to have ASPD. very sympathetic portrayal. internalized sanism. tries to be a "hero" but ultimately believes herself to be inherent "evil" due to her moral values being determined by popular media with neurotypical-centric ideas of heroism, which contrasts too much with her natural lack of empathy, total inability to feel grief, atypical destructive & sadistic tendencies, etc.)

Ivan from ALNST (uhhhhh it's very easy to find information on him online but tldr: heavily ASPD-coded, stems from childhood trauma from growing in the slums, high-masking. definitely sympathetic, and not a villain, antagonist, or demonized character. has internalized sanism.)

Alina Gray from Magia Record (low-masking/no-masking case. 'crazy artist' trope but sort of subverted/expanded on. sometimes very much villainous, sometimes antagonistic, but you mainly want to read/watch her personal stories for this in which she is the protagonist and sympathetic. still def ProblematicTM rep just in case anyone would prefer to avoid those.)

other, more questionable or more minor reps:

Bing an Ben's protagonist (and another major character, though that is a major spoiler) suffers from a fictional rare-case psychiatric disorder that gives him various things including ASPD traits (and/or he develops either ASPD or ASPD traits due to childhood trauma caused by his having of that fictional disorder). the rare condition causes him to be subjected to extreme medical & societal ableism and sanism ever since he was born, and from a very young age he lives his life by trying extremely hard to perfectly mask 24/7 everywhere, fully knowing the very moment his mask slips and the world sees him for what he is (a "lunatic"/"madman") is the very moment he loses all his rights to being viewed as a "person" and a "human being" in the eyes of the sanist ableist world. indeed, his story/character deals a lot with the sanist utter demonization & dehumanization faced by people considered "insane" by society. [Also, he definitely has BPD as well.] He's 100% written very sympathetically, but also he is ABSOLUTELY a very, very ProblematicTM fave, judging by what he does in the novel, and the same goes for the romance in Bing an Ben. Please take note of all the content warnings for this novel if you are going to read it. In any case, he is protagonist and focus character, with a happy ending where he gets together with the man he loves.

this definitely isn't a major example for ASPD, but Kaguya-sama's title character & female lead Kaguya has what seems to be OSDD-1a, and while I'm not sure she necessarily has ASPD, she definitely has some ASPD traits (& BPD traits possibly?) that shows the most when one of her alters is fronting. both/all come from her childhood trauma. internalized sanism, feels like a fundamentally bad/wrong person for being abnormal -- very low empathy especially at young age, inability to properly feel grief. hates herself for not knowing how to Do things the way everyone else seems to do, without scheming plotting and manipulating, etc. [Also, the male lead/her love interest is really NPD-coded (he doesn't seem to lack empathy, but otherwise he's got all sorts of NPD traits. a very rare depiction of a 'ConventionallyTM Morally Good' narcissist in media tbh, which is refreshing to see)! they're both totally sympathetic non-villainous protagonists of the story (with a happy ending) and their story is very good and, like, simply incredibly neurodivergent in it's very premise imo]

other than that I've heard people say this about Sherlock Holmes (the original canon) too? Which. Yeah I can see it!

there may be more that I'm forgetting at the moment, but here are the instances I can think of offhand! hope this is of use or interest to someone. personally I do like all of those media a lot and would be glad if this could prompt anyone to check them out

sniffles: i just know in my heart that this man is so chronically online. his twitter account is 90% him going back and forth with flat earthers

giggles: there's a tumblr post floating around of someone calling someone a slur and then putting "/neg" on the end and i think giggles does that on twitter every single day

handy: okay handy doesn't so much get into twitter beef as much as he posts paragraph long rants calling someone an idiot and then immediately blocks them afterwards

cuddles: definitely has a stantwt account. do y'all remember the youtube 101 short where he left a hate comment on disco bear's channel that appeared to be entirely swear words? that's at least half of what he does on twitter

disco bear: exclusively fights with cuddles but other than that his account is mostly selfies

splendont: he doesn't post much but when he does it's usually to argue with someone

lifty and shifty: these two don't go out of their way to get into twitter beef but they will happily participate if it comes across their feed + they are Always having the most cartoonish fights with each other on no provocation.

splendid: he... technically Has a twitter but he runs it like a brand account. it's all convention dates and quote tweets going "Thank you so much to @(insert the most heinous stantwt username you can think of) for the wonderful fan art!" captioned over a tweet of some risque fanart of him

mime: has a twitter but mostly just posts pictures and videos of tricks he does and stuff like that. captions them exclusively in emoji for the bit.

nutty: too busy playing video games to get into twitter fights

russell: he's over on youtube posting "hamilton slime tutorials" he's not on twitter

lammy: she never actually Says anything on her twitter she just posts aesthetic moodboards and pictures of flowers

flippy: he has a twitter he rarely uses. will sometimes retweet lammy's flower pictures but that's about it.

mole: facebook user (derogatory)

petunia: petunia is chronically OFFline for her mental health because the one time she tried to get on twitter she got stuck in a doomscrolling spiral for 6 hours and had to be dragged out of it by handy

flaky: they follow maybe 10 people on twitter and 3 of them are baseball fun fact accounts

One time, the Magical mountaineers were arrested outside of the Hermitcraft server, a wrong place wrong time at least that's what they told other hermits.

Gem and Joel refused to speak without a lawyer.

Skizz was telling tales, the cops thought they could match the nicknames he was using to the person but got stumped immediately on who Dipple Dop was.

Impulse seemed like he would give them answers but his tone of voice was so suspicious that they didn't know if they could trust anything he was saying.

Mumbo started answering questions but by the second question it looped around in to redstone some how the cops couldn't get him to stop (talking about redstone was the only way to stop himself from passing out)

Grian presented the cop questioning him with a form to fill out with questions that could only be answered if you were a hermit. He then put the cop on hold while he took a smoke break, leaving the cop confused on how he got a jukebox, a music disc, a pack of cigarettes and a lighter.

They were let go eventually due to the cops not getting any information.

the way he breaks down completely from the terror and fear in his body + his literal consciousness dying off as all of the other ratmen die + his perception sense altering how he perceives the world.. like so much of his behavior and how he acts is because he doesnt have "higher-functioning" sentience, hes just a rat man in constant danger and hes considered a lesser being - honestly i habe tbe belief that he legitimately dies post lucid21 not becwyse he falls victim to anything but becsuse he mentally just isnt there anymore. psychologically his brain isnt functioning enough to survive the canadian woods. and hes uber hungry. but i akso like the idea of a super wild feral ratman running around the ivory woods absolutely tearing ass becayse he doesnt give a fuck no more!!!!

no apologizing!! this is a fluff friendly blog!!

cuddles: like everything he does, his kisses are fast and a little bit rough, but full of passion and excitement.

giggles: queen of classic romance, her kisses look and feel like something straight out of a hallmark movie. most likely to smile while trying to kiss her partner

toothy: probably the gentlest kisser because he's had to learn to work around the teeth

petunia: she keeps her kisses short and simple, but they're remarkably pleasant all the same

handy: he has a tendency to lean into it and there's a non-zero probability that he'll overbalance the both of them and send him and his partner to the floor, but the kiss itself is a good balance between gentle and passionate

nutty: this man kisses with his whole body. it's rough and a bit extreme, and he'll DEFINITELY knock the both of them over, but there's no denying he's excited about it. he'll also follow up one kiss with a dozen more peppered all over his partner's face and neck (´-ω-`)

sniffles: there's a very predictable pattern with him, where he starts off with a very gentle, plain kiss, and then about two seconds in he gets overwhelmed with affection and leans in to deepen it. he does this every time and it's incredibly endearing

pop: nothing super remarkable about his, just a quick and gentle smooch

flaky: they always manage to catch their partner by surprise with the amount of energy they put into their kisses. they're fast, but they really grab on and lean in with it!

the mole: like everything else he does, his kisses are not super high energy, but he likes to draw them out. very soft, but he'll be there kissing his partner for a good couple minutes.

disco bear: if it's someone he really cares about, he's shockingly restrained about it, at least at first. he's the most likely to put a hand on his s/o's jaw, but other than that, he mostly lets them decide how intense they want that kiss to be, because he's afraid if he tries to take too much he'll scare them off. his kisses get more passionate as he gets more secure in the relationship.

russell: he kisses like he learned how to kiss from a 1950's etiquette book. it's not unpleasant by any means, but it's very clear that he doesn't do this that often

lifty: his kisses are casual, until they aren't. he'll start with a quick kiss, but if nothing stops him after the first one, he'll spend the next 45 minutes in a full makeout session, completely disregarding location or if people are nearby. most likely to bite his partner's lip (gently!)

shifty: very fond of dragging his s/o in by the shirt for a messy kiss. very likely to follow it up by kissing and biting at their neck if they don't stop him

mime: partial to quick, rapidfire kisses all over his partner's face. will smudge face paint everywhere if he isn't careful

lammy: the best way to describe her kisses is "cheerful". she's also very likely to smile while trying to kiss her s/o, and she's the most likely to start laughing from how happy she is to have someone special in her life

flippy: it always takes him a second to relax, but once he does, he completely melts into it and kisses his partner like it's the last thing he'll do. he takes their face in both of his hands and it's like he's trying to pour himself into them. it's very intense!

splendid: his kisses are as dramatic as he is. he's the most likely to turn a simple kiss into a full spin and dip moment if he isn't stopped from doing so

splendont: 50/50 on his kisses either being fast and rushed (he's a man on a mission), or lazy and drawn out (he just wants to enjoy it). either way, he's a lot gentler than any other time
