it’s been a long five years, and activity has been rather spotty for most of it, but y’all still requested and liked what i put out. even between new mods coming and going, it was still a good time! but...

i’m officially closing down kinjpeg. it will be moved to a side account of mine so that the posts remain up, but we will no longer be taking requests on this account. however!

both of the mods (including me, mod tsuchi) are moving to @fickinteahouse !

if you have any requests that did not get answered (which i'm sure there are), please, redirect them over there!

Best FoodFan Units to Invest In if F2P

i get this question a lot, like a lot a lot and it tends to spark debates that sometimes make feelings get hurt, so i’m just going to make a list and post it on tumblr for those of you who are wondering which units are worth investing in (who should not get chucked into the fusion blender).

ALSO, EVERY UR UNIT NOT B-52/FOIE GRAS/PEKING DUCK IS A F2P TRAP!!!! 

i know it hurts to hear, because it hurts me too having pulled for some of them, but what i mean by this is: they are not worth investing in long-term because they will require money and can only carry you so long in the game before your SR units and R units are better because of the ascention/level cap. you might be able to push a strength UR to 15k with a fully optimized fallen (linked or uke mochi E/tsuchi +10 with all gold stats), but that’s it.

stun: stops enemy movement

silence: stops energy skills.

charm: turns enemies against each other

buffs: bonuses added to friendly units

debuffs: negates bonuses added to enemy units

Tom Yum: self-healing R defense unit, farmable shards, easy to ascend to 5* quickly, early game savior who wont fall off.

Milk: R unit easy to ascend to 5* quickly early game, link skill to btea, AOE heals.

Miso Soup: R unit easy to ascend to 5* quickly early game, support/magic hybrid who drains hp, links with sanma so valuable for guild/world bosses.

Black Tea: easiest SR to 5* in game, good stats and skill link, one of the better magic SR units.

Sanma: doesn’t need to ascend to do his job busting tanks/chests, flat damage, decent unit just kind of a specialist, world boss potential.

Sweet Tofu: worth if you fuse a lot as his shards are reliably common in fusion, good healer, can replace 5* milk at 3*.

Moon Cake: farmable as heck, great skills, basically in every catacombs/world boss guide because of her AOE kill and debuffs, just a really dang good strength unit.

Vodka: best magic SR in game, farmable shards, stun/silence valuable in any situation, links with B-52.

Yuxiang: okay unit but unremarkable other than being farmable and linked to peking, but those two alone make her worth it if you run him.

B-52: every F2Ps best UR friend, powerful and only farmable UR unit to date, guild/world boss champ.

Foie Gras: was given to us free if you did her quests, charm, easy to fuse for shards and easier UR to pull so most people who have summoned a lot already have her at 1*. 

Peking Duck: the attack spam god, silence, easy to fuse for shards and easier UR to pull so most people who have summoned a lot already have him, worth fusing for if you continue to not summon him.

EDIT: bamboo rice has been added ot this list due to now being as common as foie gras and peking duck in shard fusion.

anyone not these units, ymmv but these units are likely better, especially if you have no ascensions on the unit in question. and this post isn’t taking into account team comp, these are just common units worth investing in if you don’t plan on paying money to play food fantasy.

COOL BECAUSE I HAVE MORE

- Shijima Mei does art streams (huh wonder why), but is a lot smaller streamer compared to Nene and Hanako. They're the ones who show up on the sidebar when you first open Twitch, while she's in recommended channels. So she has a smaller community (maybe 300-500 viewers compared to 50k). One special thing she does is draw a little doodle of each person who subs, which can take a long time, but she's determined to appreciate every single one.

- Mitsuba started off as a the "roommate who showed up on Kou's streams sometimes." He began to burst into Kou's room while streaming more and more, or be on calls with him during streams. Friendly (thin-ice) banter became a staple, and fans demanded to have more content together. So, Mitsuba made an account, to which Kou immediately raids. Later, they end up playing weird dress-up games and obscure steam games no one has heard of. Good start for Mitsuba :]

- Teru was the on who convinced Kou to join an e-sports team because they played against each other a lot (wow how brotherly) and they needed another player. Not sure which game he competes with, but his alt-streams are usually GTA. And you best believe that his one media share stream was full of...interesting edits. ;)

- Tsuchigomori (god i can't spell the name without checking spelling in tags) streams whenever he wants. Four times a week to twice a month. There's a community-meme of him being a dad because he always leaves to get milk. Also, he has a job, but chat hasn't been able to figure it out yet. He refuses to tell them. One time, someone donated money with the message "mr. tiktok accountant pls do my taxes" and Tsuchi said okay fine, not realizing what being a tiktok accountant implied. The crowd goes wild. Also, his most commonly streamed game is GeoGuesser.

- As a PG streamer, Aoi does mostly beat games, like Beatsaber or Osu, and is the one who organizes group streams. She also reminds everyone the streams exist (Exhibit A: Nene taking a nap before a planned stream, and proceeding to mute her phone in her sleep when Aoi called.) She loves her mods because they instantly ban anyone who makes comments about her appearance in an inappropriate way. Also, her friends ban them from their streams too. No sussy stuff allowed. Unless it's Hanako, but he tones it down to respect their streaming spaces.

- Akane plays a lot of Rocket League and SkyWars (Minecraft PVP). He does the occasional chill farming/gathering games if he gets tired of constant action games, and even has an alt-account just for Stardew Valley, that isn't connected to his main account. On those streams, he usually plays with Aoi and they have a good time. Rumor has it that they're secretly dating, but Akane cannot confirm nor deny that.

TBHK streamer AU where the school mysteries are a streamer group while the students are another group. Nene meets Hanako when he raids her, but the notification glitches, and it says "______ is raiding with 16241 viewers." Chat deems it a "ghost raid," and any raid from Hanako is called such.

Hanako would probably be a variety streamer, but be known for tangents about science-related subjects. Youtube would be flooded with compilations of him excitedly talking about new stars that were discovered or his thoughts on nuclear power plants.

I imagine Nene to focus more on chill streams because she enjoys creating a calm space for people. Since she studied psychology before becoming a full-time streamer, Nene gives gentle advice to people who are struggling (ofc, she reminds them professional help is better, but she does what she can to help)

Tsukasa does either 30 minute streams or 10 hour streams. No in-between. Usually he streams horror games or goes through weird subreddits.

Kou used to be on a professional e-sports team, but decided it was too stressful and not what he wanted. He kept gaming, but dropped his old account and start a new one. There's discourse among his fans on whether to call him by his old username or his new one.
