hello here are my system headcanons. flag used is this one. i am part of a system. my hcs are under the cut

dirk - small system (4-5), alters front for long periods of time. has good communication but fucking hates each other so that isn't really any help. horrible amnesia but works through it. dirk didn't even figure out he was a system another alter did. passed them off as bots he made out of shame but everyone figured out pretty quickly (roxy.)

jade - large system, polyfragment with subsystems. fictive/introject heavy. frequent switching but it stabilizes on earth C when she's in a more steady, social environment. alters often talk out loud or leave notes for one another, very little internal communication most of the time. people know she's a system

jane/jaye - medium system (at max has had 12 active) and was completely unaware that's what they were experiencing until dirk told them. system is primarily internal, so like lots of shared thoughts/experiences rather than outwardly talking to people. a lot of people are unaware they're a system without them mentioning it. barely any switching.

tavros - medium system, fictive heavy. switches semi-frequently, but he got really good at masking. system mainly communicates either internally or through leaving notes/etc. only learned what he was experiencing was a system thanks to nepeta, thought he just had "overactive imaginary friends". most have his typing quirk.

nepeta - smaller system and a lot are introjects based on rp characters, or rp characters are based off alters. not HIDING the fact she's a system but for a long time ppl thought she was just roleplaying. equius knows all of her alters and was the first to start meeting them. they mainly communicate via a custom trollian mod by sollux. they have unique typing quirks.

damara - large polyfragmented system. only tend to front during extremely strong emotional distress or other strong emotions. alters never really hid themselves; the others know she's a system and the names/pronouns/etc. heavy amnesia and not a lot of communication at all.

How the Homestuck Trolls would play Omori

Aradia: She made it through Black space and somehow wasn't freaked out by the "friendsssss...." Scene (you know the one). She will find every door. She will not shut up about this game. She's a HeroMari stan.

Tavros: Kins Basil and has to have Gamzee and/or Aradia near him to finish the game during Black Space. He mostly wanted to quit over the bunny side quest. He really didn't want to kill them; he's with headspace Aubrey there. He makes Fiduspawn teams for everyone.

Sollux: Considers the game too easy, though the story hits home for him. He intends to mod Black Space to have actual bosses; Aradia and Feferi are cheering him on. He adds new phobia bosses.

Karkat: Rage quit the game on Sweetheart. Sollux makes fun of him for being bad at video games.

Nepeta: Like Roxy, she could not kill Mewo. Equius offered to step in before she figured it out. Later, she becomes the most prolific Baseball (kelbrey) shipper on ao3.

Kanaya: finishes the game with Rose. She prefers games with more customization or straightforward combat, though. She does appreciate Aubrey.

Terezi: almost quit in white space before getting into the pastel world. She appreciates the use of color in Omori, and has absolutely looped My Time before. She's pestering Karkat to finish the game so she and Dave can throw memes at him.

Vriska: Guys you don't understand. Aubrey is the best character to ever be written. She deserves the world. She deserves to hit people with that bat. She should commit more crimes with Kim, actually. Those stupid other characters should just leave her alone!!!!!!!! Ugh she's not a 8ad person this is not up for de88.

Equius: Nepeta made him play it, but he actually got scared of it (sorry it's hard to write this guy). He eventually told her to seek more dignified entertainment. She did not listen.

Gamzee: Plays it with Tavros. He wouldn't have figured whitespace out otherwise. He's a relatively casual fan of the game, but he relates to Sunny a little more than he admits.

Eridan: "Wwhat do you mean there isn't a route wwhere you kill everyone. Wwhat's the glubbin point then?" He puts down the game for more flarp.

Feferi: Got the hikkikomori route on the first try. She wanted to see where the colorful story went. She loves the underwater sections. Went back for the main route and cried up a storm. Reads Rose's obscure fanfiction about Tako.

Also I think Aradia either works better shipped with other characters or just straight up on her own.

Jadekat - 7/10, There's some cannon precident for this iirc??? It's plenty cute, but if I was going to ship them it'd be pitch. I think that could be the funnest. Nothing wrong with it, nothing to particularly write home about either.

Vriskan - 4/10, Can be cute but I feel like people ignore the fact that they broke up for SUPER valid reasons and that Kanaya doesn't have to be boiled down to Liking Vriska or Liking Rose. Pesterquest is SUPER guilty of this for example. Not the worst ship out there but It's not my favorite by a long shot either.

Daverezi - 8/10, anyone who says they never shipped them at all is a damn lier. Though I do perfer terezi in wlw ships, they have a special place in my heart as THE middle school couple who broke up but are still besties

HE WORE HIS HAIR SPIKED UP LIKE A MOHAWK WHEN IN THE DREAMS BUBBLES BECAUSE RUFIOH HELPED BOOST HIS CONFIDENCE. WE GOT MARRIED TOO.

SOLLUX AND I WERE VASCILATING FLUSHED AND PALE, HE WAS SUPER NERDY AND I SWEAR SAID "UM ACTUALLY" UNIRONICALLY. WE GOT MARRIED TOO, THOUGH HE ONLY REALLY DID IT FOR THE FOOD BUT ITS THE THOUGHT THAT COUNTS. WE HONESTLY WERE MORE FLUSHED, BUT WE HAD OUR VERY PALE MOMENTS.

KANAYA TOOK CARE OF ME A LOT WHEN WE BOTH DIED, SHE HELPED A LOT. WHEN WE ALL DIED IT WAS LIKE EVERYTHING BROKE, AND EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS ALSO SO SCARED TOO SHE HELPED ME THROUGH IT AND HELPED ME THROUGH THAT BAD TIME. SHE TOOK CARE IF ME LIKE A LUSUS DID, AND SHE HELPED A LOT

ROSE WAS LIKE HER PARTNER IN CRIME (AND LITERAL PARTNER) IM BABYING PEOPLE ISTG, SHE WAS LIKE LUSUS/MOM 2 FOR ME, I SWEAR THEY BOTH BASICALLY ADOPTED ME FOR A WHILE AFTER WE ALL DIED

KANKRI AND I ACTUALLY GOT ALONG REALLY WELL, HED LISTEN TO ME WHEN I NEEDED TO RAMBLE AND ID LISTEN WHEN HE WANTED TO. HE REALLY DIDNT CARE IF ANYONE WAS LISTENING, HE JUST WANTED THE PRESENCE, BUT I TRIED TO LISTEN ANYWAYS. HIS RAMBLING WAS BORING AT FIRST BUT IM PRETTY SURE HE WAS JUST TRYING TO BE GOOD BUT KINDA NOT FIGURING OUT HOW HE WAS BEING TOO CAREFUL. mod Courtney i mean this lightheartedly and i don't mean any offense, I am wording this for comedy's sake. But. What are those Homestuck-TD comparisons? Gwen is Aradia, not Kanaya. Aradia's the one whose dry and nihilistic and forces herself not to care about things. Kanaya's probably Beth- oblivious, lovestruck, has a strong moral code and probably one of the better trolls morally. DJ I do not believe would be troll racist or have cognitive dissonance over his desire to uphold social structure while being really kinky. DJ's timidity and softheartedness probably fits better with Tavros. I'll take Terezi as Izzy though, and while I think Vriska is better as Heather, Courtney dooooes work for her. Noah can be Sollux, I guess. This implies Gwen and Noah, which is probably a win for the Gwen/Noah fans.

Okay. Gwen works for Aradia. I will not lie. BUT I think she’s more like Kanaya. Gwen is a creative, and so is Kanaya. Kanaya is a seamstress, while Gwen draws/sketches. Gwen also dyes her own hair with a custom hair dye and makes her own lipstick (and so does Kanaya!!) if you take fresh tv’s word as canon. Also, I think Gwen as a rainbow drinker just makes sense. It’s not a perfect match, because Kanaya is probably a little smarter than Gwen and much more in touch with her emotions, but idk. I just… have a vision. Also they’re both pale as fuck, which isn’t like, a major factor or anything, but it’s just interesting to note. Like I said, she also fits Aradia, but idk. Idk. Vision. Also yuri moment.

I picked Aradia for Leshawna because she’s generally very likable by the others. When she is alive, she has a much happier disposition, and that reminds me of Leshawna. Also, bad things just sort of… happen to Aradia, and same goes for poor Leshawna, despite both of them generally being team players and trying their best. And that one episode of island where leshawna had to capture a frog. I don’t have anything to add to that but yeah.

I picked Equius for DJ because they’re both extremely strong and dutiful to their parents. You’re right that he would never be troll racist, nor would be be kinky and weird, but I think he’s way too strong, both morally and physically, to be tavros. Tavros is a bit of a pushover, and DJ has a much stronger moral compass. Also, and I might be projecting here, but I see Equius as a big animal lover, given his friendship with Nepeta and his affinity for horses. DJ is probably better suited for the summoner, in all actuality. Or maybe Rufioh.

You are absolutely right about Courtney/Heather though. I think it’s a coin toss (Terezi joke, lmao) for who is better suited for Vriska. Kissing Tavros was definitely a Heather move, but Heather is a little bit more cunning than Vriska, who is generally led by her emotions, which is more Courtney.

Sollux has me stumped. I see him very much as a Harold type but Noah is sarcastic in a similar way. But (again, if you take fresh tv’s word as law) cody is the more tech-savvy of the cast, so maybe he’s Sollux? I dunno.

Question for any of y'all to answer, what do you guys think the trolls smell like? Or maybe what they smelled like in one of your timlines? Fun little detail I love to hear about :o)

💫: that.... honestly is a question i end up considering a lot of the time since most of my memories are just weird snippets of sensory stuff. i think while there's like. a general troll smell (kinda the way there's like. a basic people smell. or like. how an animal just *smells* like that animal in general? but that feels pretty generically background and as odd as it might sound its like. a similar sort of metallic-ish smell to like. coins or blood? but like... also kinda smells vaguely industrial? like metal mixed with dirt or like. mud? like the smell of wet concrete. like after it rains and you can smell the sidewalk and grass still covered in all the rainwater? or like. that ozone smell from thunderstorms, especially how sharp it is in the mountains? yeah like that. at least as the counterpart to the general human like. "skin" smell?? i mean that in the least weird way i possibly can ^^;;;;; anyway.... in terms of trolls' specific smells in different timelines... hmm... here's a few of the ones that stand out to me! (it’s all gamzee timelines predictably)

while sollux maryam (gamzee zahhak tl) tended to smell sort of like poppy flowers and honeycomb, his sburb planet (land of blight and disarray) smelled exactly like a corpse flower. (i on the other hand mostly smelled like rust and hydrogen peroxide or sometimes hot sand or wet rocks). in that same timeline karkat peixes in my mind is always linked to the smell of pink sea salt and like... sort of a salmon-y sort of smell?

karkat makara (gamzee vantas tl) smells distinctly like popcorn!! and just a little bit like that burnt ashy sulfur smell that gets stuck in the air after a bunch of fireworks are set off. so kinda like burnt popcorn but like. in a good way cuz thats my boy <> <> <>

in my gamzee megido timeline a lot of things just smell kind of like cheap acrylic paint but anytime kurloz was around contacting me he sort of had like??? a ghost smell??? it was sort of like.... wet?? and sour??? like mud and gasoline, i guess. aradia makara smelled like strawberry preserves, grape jelly, and unscented wax melts. eridan serket had that sort of smell of like. a beach but more like the cliff overhanging a beach? so its like a beach but like, cold, ya know? im not sure if that makes much sense lol

🃏: I do have to agree with mod clowncAR on the whole like...general troll smell thing, like that really metallic and ozone smell, y'know? but I know on Beforus (especially in my Meulin timeline specifically, but it was there for almost all of them) there was always like. a wet leaf smell to everyone. and how bugs just smell. like that real specific smell of insects, like when there's a lot of Japanese beetles in one place, or how like. fireflies smell. outside of that, I do have some specific timeline ones.

in my feferi pyrope tl, my karkat maryam smelled like hair gel (which was a very like. baby powder-y and coconut oil smell), and also like slightly burnt caramel. and metal. that boy wore so much jewelry.

in my rufioh makara tl, porrim serket smelled like a really really floral and sweet perfume, and like dried herbs and dessert wines. she also smelled like kind of older face powders and lipsticks which I personally loved. cronus zahhak smelled like machine oil and sweat and like a really strong and peppery cologne that, surprisingly, always worked well with the machine-y smell in my opinion. he smelled like cloves too, and incense. I liked how he and porrim smelled <3 (mituna complained that cronus made him sneeze too much)

in my rome strider tl, I specifically smelled like caramel and kinda like. old leaves? idk I grew up in like, the middle of no-where in appalachia, in a haunted sanatorium, I just kinda smelled like an old, cold cement building for a long time. and then I started smelling like facepaint and powder and a little fruity, but it was like. a sickly sweet smell, one you'd associate with fermenting fruit. jackie crocker smelled like strawberries and cake and something kinda peppery and it was just. nice. she also kinda smelled like a grandma but I thought it was good. worked with all of her other smells.
