Please be nice, this is my first time trying to “render,” I was kinda just winging it. But I’m really proud of it as a beginning step!

If I was a billionaire I would hire someone to find the author and pay as much money as they would take to finish this story. I’ve re-read it recently and it just scratches an itch in my brain no other fic itches. There’s just no other fic I can find that has a world like this one. I just want to read more in this world so BAD ToT Like I grew out of the ship back in elementary school but I still come back to this fic. It’s more than just the ship (obviously since they aren’t even remotely together for good reason.) but the characters and the atmosphere. I mean these are basically just their own characters with Sans’ name plastered on it (Isn’t that just every AU LOL) I love the 1920s era it takes place in and just that whole idea of poor people bonding together and UGH I just love it so much. The comic too??? That comic is my actual inspiration of what I want to make when I get older. The beautiful artstyle. The use of color, the crosshatching shadows. It’s beautiful and portrays the story so beautifully. So this story, that artstyle, and that one comic dub on youtube that voices them all so perfectly with Sans’ and all the characters having that accent? Chefs kiss oh my GOD! All of them combined just created something I WILL rewatch, even if I’m not in the undertale fandom AU. I’ll come back SPECIFICALLY for THIS fic. Anyways I’m done yapping

Fransweek '23 - Day 7

I had no clue on this one but Shay is one heck of a motivator! ;) Final entry for @fransweek Hoping for another fun one next year too! ^^ Cross posted to Ao3 here! And follows a previous storyline that can be read here!

What do you buy for a man who has everything? Someone who has seven cars and a mansion for a house?

What do you buy a gangster?

A monster?

These were all thoughts that Frisk had swirling around her head as she pressed her nose practically flat against a shop window. Crowds of people were milling about, some rushing in the frantic scramble to find items worthy of declaring their undying love, and Frisk was staring blankly at a set of new suits on display.

Valentine's day.

What a nightmare.

She sighed as she leaned back and slid her hands in her pockets. While she knew Sans had a very blatant love for a decent new outfit; it just didn't scream 'romantic'. They'd been together going on three years and for some reason, though they'd never celebrated the holiday before, Frisk felt the sudden want to. Sans had said human holidays didn't translate well for monsters and so they tended to stick to their own holidays.

Only monster kind didn't have a Valentine's day equivalent.

And Frisk…

Kind of wanted to be the one to dote on Sans for a change.

The stout skeleton always spoiled Frisk rotten. If there was a new flavor of ice cream she wanted to try; Sans bought it for him. If Frisk so much as glanced at a new hat in passing, simply noting its existence; it ended up in the center of her bed, gift wrapped and with a signed cologne sprayed note. She literally wanted for nothing since becoming the gangster's mol.

While in truth Frisk didn't make much at her new 9-5 shift at Bloomingdale's she still wanted to try to provide Sans something special.

Maybe she was being too hopeful.

She kind of missed her old job at the bank—it paid well, despite what happened.

Frisk gave up and collapsed on a metal bench seated by a stone carved fountain of the Venus de Milo. With a deep love of art you'd think she'd have been interested in admiring it, but no. Instead she stared up at the sky overhead, and then promptly buried her face in her hands with a groan.

"something the matter dollface?"

She jerked upright to find the metaphorical cause of all her troubles now seated right beside her, head tilted back and sockets closed as if he was taking a nap in the sunlight with an arm slung over the back of the bench. What excellent timing. How he always managed that Frisk decided long after their third date not to think about.

At her silence he cracked a socket open and turned his skull to peer at her. "you look put out, up a creek without a paddle, really on the rocks—"

"Sans."

He stopped. He could see something really was bothering her if she couldn't even tolerate his normal bout of teasing. It was a good thing he'd assigned a tail to her, if he hadn't Sans would've had no clue that his gal was wandering around an open target because she suddenly had a case of the blues. He couldn't have that.

His human was supposed to be happy.

Frisk was supposed to be cheerful and snarky.

Sitting up properly he slid closer to her and moved his arm around her shoulders, taking delight in the colorful blush it brought to her pale cheeks.

"c'mon. talk to me doll."

She debated not saying a thing. There was a part of her that still wanted to surprise him. But at this point it seemed rather moot. Frisk hadn't the first clue what to get him or what to look for. Calling Mettaton had been a thought or Undyne, unfortunately though the former was always busy and the latter was just as clueless about romance as Frisk was about gift shopping.

This was a concession she'd have to make.

"You know what Valentine's day is right?" Refusing to look at him and trying to pretend she didn't sound as shy as she suddenly was, Frisk locked her gaze on a passing couple holding hands.

Sans followed the look and raised a brow.

"i do." He looked back at her with lidded sockets, his grin soft with sudden affection. "were you wanting to celebrate it?"

She sputtered.

Cute.

Frisk took a deep breath and pressed her palms into the tops of her knees.

"I know we haven't before but…"

Sans was waving a dismissive hand before interfacing his gloved fingers with the ones on her left hand, traced a calming back and forth with his thumb against the skin of her leg as he chuckled.

"i thought you weren't interested. otherwise i'd have been showering you in flowers ages ago."

Frisk looked at him; shocked. Her eyes were full mooned exposing the pretty gold of her irises and her lips had pressed into a pout that made his soul thrum.

She honestly couldn't believe her ears.

"Really? I thought we didn't celebrate because there wasn't a monster holiday for it."

"there isn't." Sans shrugged. "but i've never been the traditional kind. human holidays can be a blast too."

"christmas, for one." His eyelights flashed with a pulsating glow, and his tone was a teasing lit that left her more flustered than ever.

Right, how could she ever forget Christmas.

"So, you'd like to celebrate with me?" Frisk asked with her heart in her throat and a thrill in her chest.

"sure," he stood and offered her a hand. "days almost over, but better chocolate than never."

With a roll of her eyes and a snort she accepted his hand and stood. The fact her mobster was also a giant dork was an irony she'd never be able to get over.

"Well, is there anything you'd like? I've been looking for hours but." She shrugged.

"hard to buy for me? i'm shocked. people usually see right through me. i'm a simple guy that likes socks and vests."

"You get those all the time." Frisk dead panned. Annoyance making her cross her arms as she huffed irritable and exhausted.

Sans chuckled, and then looked down in thought before shrugging.

"a kiss from my girl would be nice. can't buy that."

She flushed. "Sans, really…"

He simply closed his sockets and tapped his cheek, expectant.

But, they were in public!

Oh, who was she kidding. She may have struggled and put up fights on the regular but realistically Frisk could never find it within herself to deny him such simple indulgences. It was only a cheek kiss, hardly a thing to draw unwanted attention.

Frisk leaned in—

And Sans turned at the last second capturing her lips.

The world spun and her head went dizzy feeling a smooth wetness pry against her flesh in a featherlight pass, asking, seeking. Before she knew it she relented and was eagerly returning the kiss with just as much passion as he was giving.

When they broke for air he went to say something with a breathless laugh, but Frisk placed a finger over his teeth, silencing him and causing his sockets to widen.

"Happy Valentines to me."

He guaffed and pulled her close to fully wrap her waist. "stealing my lines? i thought i was the thief in this relationship."

Frisk bit her inner cheek to stop herself from laughing and rolled her eyes.

"A movie sound good?"

"sounds perfect."
