I consider myself a novice writer but hopefully I could deliver some quality reading PSPSPSSPS

Sans watched in silence as Wingdings unclasped one of his many gaudy gold rings, the ruby top shining as a small white pill dropped into the glass from the undone latch- making a plop as it dissolved inside the crystal clear sparkling water. Wingdings did everything accordingly, every action done to be taken with a purpose. And so, Sans wondered, with his eyebrows raised and mouth opening to speak- what was Wingdings planning? The quiet brother shot Sans a soulless stare, making quick work of silently telling sans to shut the fuck up. Sans simply grifted his teeth, before lowering his eyes back down to his plate as he considered Wingdings actions. Surely he wasn’t trying not poison Maria, at least, not in front of Sans. He’d never seen Wingdings do that though- poison an obvious ally. Unless he knew something he didn’t know. About Maria.

He cleared his throat, forcing down the potential thought with a visible grimace. Wingdings continued to smoke his cigar, reasserting the comforting smile on his grim features as Maria click clacked her way back to the dinner table, gesturing at the brothers with a respective smile.

Sans tried to keep his soul from thumping, that stupid agonizing scent of his minty cigar wafting around the sitting trio. Even if he knew she wouldn’t notice, and even though both papyrus and Wingdings knew he was romanticly involved….. If he had to see that smug chastising grin on Wingdings face once he realized just how blind he was for this woman….

He’d never hear the end of it.

Maria wrapped some spaghetti around the silver fork, keeping her eyes low as she ate the dinner in silence. It was awkward, but not for the reasons she was aware of. Sans felt himself gulp, trying his damn best not to make eye contact with any of the dinner tables audience, Papyrus simply enjoying his meal and blatantly ignoring the grating fact that Wingdings had just potentially poisoned sans little lady.

Maria turned her sight onto the oldest brother, speaking in a low tone as she finished chewing.

“If you don’t mind me asking…. What career did you hold before your families migrated here?

Maria felt the tension stiffen between Papyrus and Sans, both skeletons irking at her somewhat privying question as Sans gave a cough into his napkin. He had to hold back a snort once he noticed Papyrus eye sockets wide, unabashedly staring at Maria like she had gone mental.

Maybe she had.

Wingdings kept a faint smile on his face though, never once visibly taking her question any deeper than he cared for as he responded.

“You could say… I was a scientist.”

He gave nothing else for her to work with, before once again going silent.

The dinner was silent from then on, all 3 parties waiting for Maria to touch the sparkling water. Sans stared at her, eye lights flicking to each person as his fork dug itself into a meatball- merely toying with the food on his plate. He felt Maria siding him with her gaze, though he willed himself not to meet her eyes, he noticed the slight tug of a smile on her lips.

She reached for the glass of water, a tension once again resurfacing as Sans tensed. He felt his hand tighten around the fork, willing himself to stay as calm as possible, though finding himself sweating quite profusely against his will.

Maria brought the glass to her lips, before feeling that familiar tug in her inner being. Goosebumps rose their way up her arm, feeling her body stiffen up as she stopped just before the water could reach her lips.

Wingdings was staring at her. The light in his eyes, solely focused on her entirely with no other presence subjected to his attention.

She knew something was wrong, even before she had touched her glass. Sans had gone from all smiles to entirely worried, Maria noting the familiar way he curled his fists tightly around whatever object he had his meaty hands closest to.

Maria let her eyes slip towards Papyrus, eyeing his relaxed manner of eating as he simply chewed. Hyperfocused on himself. He was completely silent. That was not the normal Papyrus.

Emerald eyes glazed over, succumbing to the fact that there was a fault in the air amidst the 3 men she sat with. She slowly lowered her gaze… and set down the glass of water. She turned her eyes to latch onto Wingdings observant orbs, before letting a simple sentence escape her breath towards him.

“So what kind of science did you do?”

Hello, idk if you're accepting asks atm or if you'd even be willing to do this since it's about a story you're not continuing but would you be willing to write all the mobs reactions to finding out MCs their soulmate from "Cheating Death"? (Basically just their reactions to that bombshell at the end of the last chapter)

Oh, I'm happy to answer asks about this fic even if it is abandoned.

I'm always taking asks too, no one has to wait until I request them.

I don't know if this is what you meant, but I'll explain their reactions.

Guns (Mobtale Sans) is as furious as he is surprised. He... wasn't expecting to have a SOULmate, much less for them to be a Human. But of course she dead when they find her, of course. That's just what he should've expected. But... he's also not going to let this happen. Now that he has her, she's going to live dammit!

Ace (Mobtale Papyrus) is shocked and a bit devastated. He's simultaneously overjoyed and heartbroken, and not just because of her current state. He was hoping for a SOULmate, but also kind of hoping he didn't have one. Or if they did exist, that they were in the same business as him. Even if that wouldn't work out well. He won't, he can't, let go of her now, but he is regretful that she won't be able to just rest easy.

Don (Mobtale Gaster) is absolutely furious when he finally returns. Not just at her death, but the fact that he has to share her, and with his sons even. What cruel trick is fate trying to play here with that? Her death is something that angers him greatly though too, another cruel trick of fate. But that anger is mainly at the fact that he couldn't prevent the tragedy, even if there's no reasonable way he could've.

Hit (Mobfell Sans) is mainly in shock. He goes out to save some stupid college kids and one of those idiots turns out to be his SOULmate?! And in fact the only one that died. He admires her determination to keep her SOUL together long enough to save her friends, and he's aware she's not... really his. But he feels that strong connection anyway, so it's good enough. But he's... going to need a drink.

Sniper (Mobfell Papyrus) isn't exactly... happy. He means, none of them are happy about this situation. Their SOULmate's dead. But he's not particularly happy about her presence all together. She's soft and innocent, there's no need to croupt her. But he can't ignore the instinct telling him to save her, save her, SAVE HER. Nor the one telling him to get closer, even if he doesn't really want to.

Boss (Mobfell Gaster) is just not happy to have to share her. He wants revenge on her friends for her death, but mainly just wants to get closer to her and make sure she stays on this plane of existence. He's not willing to let her go now that she's here.

Lucky (Mobswap Sans) is very upset by all of this, but he can work with this. He just needs to make sure she's all taken care of and doesn't get close to anything that could harm her fragile SOUL. This is kind of preferable actually, he's got a reason to keep close to her. Keep an even closer eye on her too.

Strike (Mobswap Papyrus) finds this to be very... regrettable. He feels bad for her mainly. She very obviously wants to pass on and doesn't understand why they're doing this to her, and she's in pain he can see it clearly. He wishes they could've met under better circumstances, or better yet never met at all. The only thing he can do is try to comfort her the best he can.

Cat (Mobswap Gaster) doesn't really... care? He's got other things on his mind and she's got enough of them doting on her. He's more focused on the situation and possibly how to make her form more solid and permanent. Mostly out of curiosity of it they can really cheat death this way. She's not really his after all, and he won't get to keep her if they end up back in their own universe.

Capo (Mobswapfell Sans) finds this completely unacceptable. First off she's a Human, second of all she's an innocent, and third of all she's DEAD?! He's not going to stand for this. Absolutely not. She's going to keep her cute little ass on this plain if it's the last thing he sees to.

Clip (Mobswapfell Papyrus) is just... devastated really. Her whole situation is just awful and he's upset it had to be this way. He'll keep an eye out for her friends for her, since obviously they meant a lot to her. Make sure none of the others try to take their grief out on them and just.. to help them he guesses. They were important to you, so they're important to him.

Barone (Mobswapfell Gaster) isn't impressed, nor is he really interested. He'll engage if he has to, or is forced to by that insufferable connection between their SOULs, but otherwise he doesn't honestly want much to do with her. If it was up to him, he'd let you pass on. It'd be for the best really. But perhaps he'll indulge once in a while, while you're here. If for no other reason than to anger his counterparts and the sons.

Pass (Horrormob Sans) feels... nothing. Of course this is how it turns out to be. Of course his SOULmate is dead, she's probably dead in his own universe too. It should be what he expects by now, the universes wouldn't have it any other way. But you're still tethered to this world, if by force. So... he'll have to make the most of this while he can. He doesn't want to let her go.

Button (Horrormob Papyrus) is very upset. He's... not surprised, because of course this happened. He can't even have his own SOULmate alive, safe, and happy. Of course he can't. The universes hate him. But he's going to try to make this as comfortable as possible for you, even if you are in pain. He has to, he just found you. Even if he does have to share.

Crank (Horrormob Gaster) is just... sad. It's a battle between wanting to let you free and desperately trying to keep you here. He knows letting you move on would be for the best, no matter how much it hurts them. But he also can't deny the desperate desire to keep you here. Ultimately, he's selfish.

Gamble (Mob G!Sans) honestly... doesn't know what to think. He doesn't really like the idea of being tied down, but now he can only think of her when with another woman or man. Drives him crazy, especially since he knows the right thing to do would be to let her go. There's a good chance of this all going wrong and her SOUL is one gamble he's not sure they should be taking.

Vig (Mob G!Papyrus) is almost desperate to find a solution to this problem, even if it doesn't seem like it on the outside. Can he bound your SOUL to an object to tether her here? To one of them? Is she like a Monster Ghost? What can he do for her? To ease her pain if nothing else. She can't heal properly and the tether they gave her made her more physical, which made her injuries all the more present. There has to be something.

Doll (Lustmob Sans) thinks it would've been better if they had never found you. They wouldn't have to deal with this pain and you wouldn't either. You're obviously traumatized and there's not really anything he can do for you. Quite a few of the others seem to just ignore the pain their touch puts you through, agitating your injuries from the cave in. You could've been resting peacefully, if not for them.

Sheba (Lustmob Papyrus) is on pretty much the same page as his brother. Under the belief you'd probably be better off had she never met them. But there's.. not much they can do. They're already the outcasts of the group, their words mean little and the others are always crowding you and determined to make you stay. They're all selfish like that.

Peach (Lustmob Gaster) would very much like to make her pain all disappear. But he doesn't know how to do that without touch, not that anyone really lets him or his sons get close to you despite you being their SOULmate too. But he'll work with what he can get. There's not much else he can do at this point.

The Best of All Timelines Timeline

The Best of All Timelines is the ongoing saga that's the "canon" story on this blog. Unless something is set in an AU, this is the timeline where stuff happens in my drabbles. (I will also try to start tagging stuff that might not be "canon"--for example, if I write a hurt/comfort fic about somebody getting shot, that probably didn't happen.)

Here's how events shook out so far. Kind of a floating timeline, so I'm not putting dates in here, but I hope it makes sense. Some of this is linked to old roleplay parties, which should be available to reread HERE.

Monsters are freed. Sans and Papyrus make a home on the surface along with the other Undertale monsters in Ebott City and the surrounding area.

Sans messes with a certain machine in the basement and accidentally brings several other pairs of skeletons into this world. After comparing worlds, they name the other timelines Underswap, Underfell, Swapfell, Horrortale, and Mobtale. The boys try living together, but numerous arguments and awkward encounters send them scattering across the country.

No one thinks to check if the machine is still summoning skeletons from other worlds. Sans knows that more have come through, but hides it. The new skeletons are sent off to live their own lives.

Anne (that's me, y'all; we're all about self-indulgence here) meets Sans and Papyrus when they move to Littleton (a quiet village about half an hour from the city). They become friends and one summer the boys invite her to go and visit their other cousins. Anne loves all the boys so much that she tells them they're always welcome in her home. The boys become regular visitors.

Anne hosts a Halloween party with some of her new human friends and invites all the skeletons. The boys all like her new house so much that they gradually all move in. The house has more than enough room for everybody, which is good, because more cousins show up! The Mobtale brothers make an appearance around this time.

Anne hosts a Gyftmas party where the Mafiafell bros show up.

After a mysterious noise starts coming from the basement, the G!bros are discovered! They finally found a way out of the void through the machine. Although not everybody trusts them, they join the family.

A spring cleaning party uncovers strange magic items in the shed and the attic. The items are sent away to Alphys to study at her lab, but eventually are stolen by...somebody. This is an ongoing mystery.

More mysterious noises and then the basement explodes! The Outertale brothers crashland their spaceship through the machine, effectively destroying it. No more skeletons can come through that way, but there are more in the world than initially thought.

Gradually, we meet the Dancetale brothers, the Oceantale brothers, and the Farmtale brothers.

Somewhere in here, an old friend of the blog (@kezi-likes-undertale) invented a dream game machine that allows people to go into various AUs and play out stories. This has worked out really well (other than one hiccup with G! and Jess, but that was a one time thing...probably...)

Several of Anne's human friends have fallen in love with skeletons. Anne herself has fallen for Sweets (HT Papyrus). There are three weddings (Blue and Ray, Anne and Sweets, and Boss and Trashy). Other skeletons make relationships official. Lots of cuteness ensues.

Blue and Ray (@pureangleda) have a baby! Randy Bistroke Gaster is the first babybones born into the big family and everybody absolutely adores him!

TIME SKIP -- 5 years later!

Some of the skeletons moved out of Anne's house and into their own homes, either in the neighborhood (Skeleton Acres) or in the wider world (Littleton, Ebott City). The OT bros live in Ebott City and work at the botanical gardens/aquarium. A few moved further away or went on long trips. The MF bros are at their casino in Las Vegas. The DT bros are on a world dance tour. The UO bros live in the ocean near a vacation town called Sweet Sands, about an hour from Littleton. The farm bros have their farm about half an hour west of Littleton, near a town called Pinewood.

There are now six babybones in the family, with another one on the way! Ray and Blue have Randy (5) and Cherry (2). Anne and Sweets have Someday (4) and twins Grace and Gideon (2). Boss and Trashy have Poppy (2) and another baby on the way.

Randy had his fifth birthday party just before Gyftmas. It was Pokemon themed, as that is the lad's current obsession.

In January 2024, we pick up with the family one month after that party. From here on out, we'll have to figure out what happens next!

They are ... robots... automatons is more what I'd use, and the idea was to mix like Cybertale(robottale?)+mafiatale/mobtale setting!

Were reader has a hobby with fixing/modifinh machines and one day finds/unintentionaly rescues what they think is the "rests of an automaton"(horror), upon further inspections they discover it is infact still working with an anyoing memory card that does not want to come out... sooo fix it they must and sadly "give it back"

Shenanigans insue and what reader didn't expect was that this robot is actualy a sentient machine who works, you guessed it, to one of the Don's of the city, thing is said automaton already informed boss and colleagues(much to his own annoyance) that there is a new mechanic avaliable to claim as their own personal little doctor :) just in time since he just killed the last one ;)

Hence how their hobby became a full time job... just to some very specific clients!

I can only dream of making it 20's/30's vibe inspired bc... I really like the aesthetic of the era, but lord is it hard to search comum jobs there that does not need a specific gender role.. bc I like my x readers gender neutral. Also the mafia plot of "what the fuck is Nightmare's gang stick and how the hell do i conect it with... nightmares and negatiety... thing"

The closest I can think is dude is drug lord expanding to alcohol(wich might be Dream's territory best)

There's also a mix of is it automaton or possessed? Bc monster souls and human souls interact diferent with objects(think flowey)

Poor Little Meow Meow by Mystique. This- THIS! I’ve never liked killer before but hood damnit this does things to me. Killer interacts with a veterinarian MC who is clueless to the danger she’s in. They have kittens. Kittens. Adorable.

The Fulfilling Ordeal of Being Known by nighttimelights . It’s a one shot smut but, ah, Horrortale sans is a girl and I’m questioning me sexuality. It’s damn good and a spin off of a harem series by the same author.

A spider in a graveyard by the same author. Readers Spider-Man’s student, her versions of the brothers and villains. She fights them, gets sucked into another universe by the machine and stuff happens. What’s nice is it’s a harem but with versions I’ve never read about. Outerfell, farmswap, Lustfell and such.

Hello, I'm still pending on the your final chapter's comment and overall story review. My curious question is "what made you decide to continue Saving Three Ex-cell-ent Skeletons" instead of another story, a side chapter, etc.? I see a lot of AO3 writers with several, WIP stories, so I'm curious and commend your efforts to supposedly finish this story in its entirety first.

The simple answer to your question is - this world and the boys have just become too addictive for me to leave them now!

I started STES with a very clear end chapter in mind. It's been a story of Reader's development, rather than a 'good' ending for the gang. And as I was writing it, I couldn't help but think about what would happen next.

I adored @llamagoddessofficial's prompts so much, I had to write starting from them as my inspiration. It's really made me fall in love with fun writing again (I was getting pretty disheartened by my more professional writing). But I've always loved mobtale au, so that's naturally where my future musings went.

The reason I broke it off into a second story, rather than writing one massive fic is because I'm very aware the mobtale au won't be for everyone.

Some came to STES because they wanted to see a fic of llama's prompts and that's totally okay! The more the merrier!

But this felt like a good jumping-off point for those who need it. I've already had a few comments expressing how they wish the boys could be let out of jail legally so it could become more of a slice of life fic. Unfortunately, I write on the darker end. That's just my thing.

So I thought here was an opportunity for people to finish and I hope they've at least enjoyed a fairly self-contained story!
