   {➹} – THE EXCITEMENT HAD caught the hedgehog a little off-guard, a brow raised in curiosity that didn't betray his delight in the slightest. He knew the hawk wasn't everyone's favorite addition when it came to being around him, so he was glad Flask hadn't taken any of the subtle glares and occasional pecks as a bad thing.

Really, whether she believed him or not, the hedgehog knew Bolt liked the mouse. Trusted her, even.

"I don't see why not, though you don't have t' ask. You can just call her," he replied, smiling right before his gaze turned to the sky. Just a split moment before he whistled one long, high-pitched note that almost seemed uncharacteristic coming from the quiet hero.

And right on cue there was a screech in response, the flutter of wings and soon a shadow cast over the couple. Bolt was never too far from the hedgehog unless she really needed to hunt, so it took little time before she was settled near the pair, wings folded and head cocked in a way that just announced her unspoken question.

   {➹} – ARROW COULDN'T HELP but grin at the compliment, inadvertently showing off his much larger fangs in the process but, really, it couldn't be helped. There were worse things that could have happened to him, that was for sure, but he felt all the better knowing that the mouse seemed to like his temporary look.

True, not a whole lot had changed, but still.

"Then 's safe t' say you're not going t' be embarrassed t' be seen with me the rest of the month, right?" As if he didn't already know better.

ㅤㅤHuh--? He'd.. seemed stressed.. the last time they'd talked? If his expressions denotes any amount of confusion, it's because he's racking his mind for the conversation he'd had with her. It could have happened at any point -- he didn't always remember the people he came across.. For it to have been when they last talked, however, and not when they'd last met.......

He could remember her, but..to have given her the impression that he was stressed, just during that conversation... Brow further furrows, and he gingerly accepts the scented ball, fingers pinching once he noticed the softness of the texture, the give it had. What was...? " Hn..not a bother.. " A beat. " ...Enjoy it..? "

ㅤㅤShe was being kind, he can recognize that. But.. " ...Why? " to him, to a stranger -- this sort of thing didn't happen multiple times. Surely, she must want something out of this...right?

He sharply turns around as he stops gripping his arms as he changes into a stretch. "Yeah! I'm fine! Just needed a bit of a run before I head out into another adventure!" Skyler is definitely making the excuse to leave out of this awkward situation. He wasn't feeling his best since his trip to Starfall Islands.

"Oh really now? Well, I suppose all kinds have a first time for this sort of thing." She said scratching her chin a bit. It wasn't long before she gave her a smooth hand shake. "Nice to meet you Flask! I know many scientist back on Sol, but I only know a couple of friends into that from Mobius really into it." It did not seem rehearsed at least, not to her. It might have been to others, but to Blaze it was rather genuine.

Blaze's eyes grew wide in concern for her. Was she ok? Was she becoming too flustered? It would be rude to ask probably, she bounced back quickly anyways. Her question made the princess start to smirk and try to hold in her laughter. She hoped it didn't come across as laughing at her. It was all rather adorable. "Purple, it's just the color that fits me. I try to stick to it as much as possible to the tiny details even. What about you?" Blaze wanted to gush how quaint and adorable this interaction was. This is what she wanted not some pick up line or philosophical or political hypothetical, nor some proposal on the spot. It was surprising how much she got today.

This..was just relaxing.

"Hehe, it's okay, I get it, this is all pretty tiring, huh?" The albino smiled cheerfully. Blaze looked really nervous and that somehow gave Flask a bit of courage herself. She really wanted to support the princess as much as possible and show just how welcoming people of Mobius can truly be. "It's my first time here too."

"My name is Flask the Mouse, mobian of science!" The small scientist proudly pronounced. The gesture seemed very much rehearsed, which it was, the mouse would often repeat those words in front of a mirror, simply because they sounded very cool to her.

"It's super nice to meet you! You are so... I mean, I am a... I... A-anyway, how has your day been going?" It took a lot from Flask not to gush about being Blaze's fan. However just by hearing the feline's first words, the mouse knew that it would be the wrong choice. "Whaaaaat's the color of your toothbrush?" That was the line that her friend taught her: a simple light-hearted question to start a conversation.

     {➹} – IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME before this happened, the hero reckoned. He didn’t mean to keep the mouse in the dark but the last few weeks had been anything but kind to him, and it was only now, days after his rescue, that he was even able to sit up on his own. Talking was still a chore, and his eyes were still that dim brown; to say nothing of the dark veins that crept up his limbs and torso, even his neck. Color was slowing returning to his skin, but it wouldn’t take more than a glance for anyone to see the hero was hardly at his best. 

     And that, Arrow supposed, was what had sent his friend into a panic. How she had gotten there in the first place, within the base or in his currently borrowed room, was a mystery (though he suspected one of his teammates had a softer heart than they let on) but he would have also been lying if he said he wasn’t happy to see her. He was actually very happy to see her again after so much time.

     The hug, while appreciated, did cause a hiss of pain from the hero, one that unfortunately accentuate his trouble breathing but he did his best to quickly get it controlled again, for her sake and so he could offer some reassurance.

     “’M fine...” He didn’t look it and Arrow knew that, but it wouldn’t stop him from giving what he could of a smile towards Flask. “I just...had a few rough weeks...’s all.”

      A simple way to put it, but true nonetheless. He didn’t think it would help her worry, but hopefully she took some solace in knowing he was recovering and not too far gone. Bedridden, yes, but still there.

“But I thought you put water on rice?” And not some magical mythical substance called mayonnaise that Silver honestly had no idea what it was, and why a devil wanted him to put it on his rice. His rice was just fine with water, right? He’d seen Amy do it before, he just drained it after a while.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with his cooking methods.

{➹} – HE COULDN'T HAVE been smiling harder at her application. It just reaffirmed how adorable the mouse could be in his mind, and while he had learned a few things about Flask reading the piece of paper it did nothing but make him love her that much more.

It had definitely earned her a soft kiss, his forehead coming to rest on hers as emerald hues twinkled in delight.

"So if we went on a picnic in the mountains, with one of those little chocolate fountains and then went home to cuddle under fluffy blanket it would be aces, yeah?" Like he didn't already know the answer. "I think we can do that."

     {➹} – HE DIDN’T EVEN have time to ponder what those two words could have meant before there was suddenly a mouse upon him. Thank Chaos he had strong balance and even stronger legs.

    “And hello t’ you too,” he laughed, delighted as he hugged her right back despite their odd angle. “Missed me, I’ll take it?”

     No answer was going to come to the door that Flask was knocking on, but the reason was that it no longer belonged to the hybrids. The home they used to live in had been empty for quite a while now, but that didn’t mean Volt and Harmony didn’t stop by the city. Which was why the sight of her on the porch as they walked by was a bit of a surprise. 

     “Flask? Whatcha doing?” It was Harmony who spoke up first, around a snack that she had been eating but the curious look was identical to the one on her father’s face. “We dun live there anymore.”

     Volt raised a hand in greeting and also gestured for the mouse to join them on the path that they were taking back towards the city gates. A smile came at seeing the box under her arm and realizing the reason for the attempt to visit them. 

     “You didn’t have to get me anything, you know...”

     “It’s just an eye patch, it’s not that interesting.” He said this to the little mouse whose eyes were fixed on him, and narrowed his one good eye at her. He didn’t get why she seemed so fixated on that one part of him.
