I love how Cypress and Mahogany’s names are both tree related… and so is Ash’s.

Meanwhile Ruby’s name is a gemstone, like Jade and Floyd (which is supposedly supposed to be Flourite basically).

So that kinda tells me Ruby was probably the one who married into the family? Because the tree names all seem to come from a similar name group, while Ruby is an outsider coming in.

Jade and Floyd are Ash and Ruby’s children, so to help cement Ruby’s position in the mobfamily, they got gemstone names - names more along the lines of what she would like.

I’m completely guessing here obviously, because all I have are NAMES but I already LOVE THIS! I also love that Yuu very obviously KICKED MAHOGANY’S ASS! GO YUU! 😂

I will say I do find it kinda funny that they have tree names and they’re from the ocean. I wonder if the plant names are what made Jade so interested in human world plants in the first place, which then led him to discover his love for mushrooms… 🤔

Funnily enough, I based Ash's name off of a color. Since Floyd's name is both a color and a gemstone, same with Jade and Ruby. Mahogany and Cypress fall under the "named after a plant and a color" category. Yuu handed Mahogany's ass to him cause she ain't being caught off guard again. Ash is 100% whipped for his wife and only super close members of the family get to see it. Hopefully I get to write more of the family dropping by, maybe even grandma Leech.

And prepare to have an extremely embarrassed Jade and Floyd because of their parents.

Ruby: Babe

Ash: Hmm?

Ruby: I'm naming our kids after gemstones.

Ash: ... You got a whole list planned or something in case they all survive?

Ruby: Ye.

Ash: Cool. So what names do you like the most?
