MK1 Christmas Headcanons🎄🎅🤶✨🌨️
Do I care that it’s only November 1st? No, no I don’t.
Tumblr media
-Claudia and Johnny used to love Christmas as kids, but Claudia stopped celebrating it after they fell out and left home, while Johnny was famous for his big Christmas parties during the high of his career, but secretly missed how he used to celebrate it with Claudia
-now that they have made up tho, the Carltons are definitely planning to celebrate it together this year
-among the Lin Kuei, holidays weren’t banned, more of like barely celebrated as they were viewed as “distracting” towards being trained to protect earthrealm, so some would exchange some gifts for Christmas but that was it
-in the Shirai Ryu tho, they go a little more festive for Christmas, and Tomas actually convinces Kuai to put up and decorate a Christmas tree
-there actually is a Christmas equivalent in Outworld! It is called “The Feast Of The Winter Moon” and unlike on earth, a blue moon is extremely rare in Outworld and only happens once a year, on the day that corresponds to Christmas on earth
-Outworlders would exchange gifts on this day, eat to their heart’s content, dance and drink until they fall down, the feast is known to go from starting early in the morning and ending not until the next morning
-Ashrah, being from the Netherrealm, had no idea what The Feast Of The Winter Moon was and when Syzoth first introduced it to her, it actually became her favorite holiday
-The Feast Of The Winter Moon actually does have a mistletoe equivalent! And does Johnny use it? Yes he does! Does this end with him probably getting injured? Yes, absolutely!
-The Feast Of The Winter Moon also consists of a one giant feast in or near the Palace for the residents of Sun Do, one of the few times where the public gets to enter or be near the royal residence
-Kung Lao, Johnny, Min Le, Claudia and Tomas are all “Christmas music right after Halloween” and Kuai Liang and Kenshi are strictly “no Christmas music until December 1st, and Raiden doesn’t really care
-Claudia and Johnny start a tradition where they do a livestream on Christmas Day, leading many people to speculate they were dating (as the world had no idea they were siblings) and when asked about it, Johnny is just “can’t a guy hang out with his sister in peace?” and the internet loses their minds
-I’d like to think that Liu Kang and Geras have their own little Christmas Day celebration, just a little breakfast together, something simple
-Christmas Eve celebration at Madame Bo’s!!!!

I woke up from a nap a few minutes ago and had the WEIRDEST dream of the muppets interacting with MK1 characters (Claudia, Rhyolite, Yumi and Riptide were there too)
Shenanigans included
-Miss Piggy absolutely thirsting over almost all of the male characters
-Smoke is low key terrified, Kuai Liang is confused and Bi Han is just annoyed
-and of course everyone being surprised at Miss Piggy’s frightening amount of strength
-Miss piggy also nearly kidnapped Johnny
-Fozzy, Rhyolite and Kung Lao were all just firing off terrible jokes and puns
-Yumi punting Sam the eagle and Pepe the prawn
-Shang Tsung tried to experiment on Gonzo to figure out what species he is before he was saved by Riptide
-Rowlf just generally getting along with everyone
-scooter was way too shy around all of the pretty ladies that he hid behind Kermit nearly the entire time
-speaking of Kermit, he had to yell at Miss Piggy when she would not get off of Mileena’s throne
-Smoke having to calm down Riptide after she got riled up by Statler and Waldorf
Altogether a VERY weird dream but very funny and interesting crossover

Season Of The Witch-A Riptide Invasions Season Concept
Tumblr media
*Liu Kang Narrating*
“The Riptide that attacks us is like none other. A mad water witch and former umgadi, she was driven insane after her timeline’s Tanya caused the death of her version of Tomas and their newborn child. She killed her Tanya and the rest of the umgadi, and she was far from done. She now hunts down different versions of Tanya and Tomas for vengeance and to have the family she never had, wiping out timelines in her wake. She now has come to this timeline, to try and enact the same fate she has done to many before. May your combat save our timeline and many others, so that we all may not drown in her sorrow and rage”
Scorpion (boss 1) “this Kuai Liang unfortunately lost his Harumi and when his Riptide went rogue, he eagerly joined her, sharing in her grief. To prevent him from furthering Riptide’s power trip, he must be stopped”
Baraka (boss 2) “another disciple of his timeline’s Riptide, he went mad with jealousy after his Mileena rejected him for Tanya. He was delighted when Tanya was killed and became Riptide’s loyal dog. So like a mad dog, he must be put down”
Kenshi (boss 3): “this Kenshi loyally serves his Seraphina, as she saved him from being killed the Yakuza. His Suchin wasn’t so lucky and was killed. Now, the vengeful swordsman goes from timeline to timeline, ending those who dare get in his way. You must stop him at all costs”
Riptide (boss 4/final boss) “Like our timeline’s Riptide, this Riptide has great skill over water, but now a great rage to fuel it. No wonder why she has been such a dangerous foe for this timeline’s warriors. With so much anger, she is more determined than ever to have what she wants, by any means necessary”.
“Despite the threat she brought to this timeline, it was the understanding brought by this timeline’s Tomas and Seraphina that ultimately brought us victory. The other Riptide soon realized that what she had done was wrong and that her Smoke wouldn’t have wanted her to continue her path of vengeance. She surrendered, and instead of prisoning her in the void, I sent her to a timeline where she could truly achieve peace, where she is no longer a threat to herself and the other timelines”.
———————————————
-So this version of Seraphina/Riptide comes from a timeline where Madinat was still destroyed but she was born an only child
-in this timeline, the Umgadi stumbled upon the ruins of Madinat instead of the Lin Kuei, saving Seraphina’s life
-already knew magic, continued to strengthen it by tutelage under whoever was high mage of Outworld
-Sindel is much like Mk11 Sindel. She has a much better relationship with her daughters though, who all help their mother run what is basically a dictatorship
-Mileena is still heir and still has her secret relationship with Tanya
-This Tanya is much more cruel and ruthless, willing to do anything to uphold the empire and for Mileena
-I should also mention, this Seraphina’s burn scar is much more extensive. It covers most of the left side of her face but she can still see with both eyes
-WARNING:MENTIONS OF SEVERE VIOLENCE-
-Raised to know only but servitude and the empire, this Seraphina was nothing but lonely.
-it wasn’t until she met the Shirai Ryu’s grandmaster, Smoke aka Tomas Vrbada, was when she finally found a companion.
-the two quickly fell into a passionate love affair, obviously kept secret, as Seraphina faced severe punishment if they were found out.
-Seraphina was nearly caught sneaking out to see Tomas one night, unintentionally stumbling upon Mileena and Tanya together. She was quickly sworn to secrecy and did so. She was the only person that knew of their relationship.
-eventually, Seraphina fell pregnant with Tomas’s child. Thankfully, Tomas managed to convince Tanya (who is Matron) that Seraphina was to train with him up in the mountains as “she could use the practice, she still has much to learn”.
-Everything seemed fine, Seraphina was seemingly safe in the mountains with the Shirai Ryu. She would go onto deliver a healthy baby girl nine months later.
-unbeknownst to her, Tanya grew suspicious. She secretly sent spies and soon learned that this “training” was just a cover. The matron quickly realized she could get Seraphina out of the way if she revealed her secret, to protect her and Mileena, also to ensure Mileena ascends to the throne.
-Seraphina was soon called back to the Umgadi. She had already decided once the time was right, she would escape and come back for Tomas and their daughter.
-It was only when she returned, that she realized it was a trap. The umgadi had kidnapped Tomas and their baby. Seraphina pleaded for mercy but she could only watch as the love of her life and her child were executed in front of her by Tanya. The rest of the Umgadi just watched.
-that was the moment Seraphina lost it.
-her mind finally broke under the constant years of stress and grief. She flooded the entire Cenobium, drowning the Umgadi, along with Tanya.
-It was that day that Seraphina died and Riptide was born. She went on a rampage, eventually gathering allies such as Scorpion, Baraka and Kenshi. Yet she wasn’t done with just her timeline.
-she was desperate to get Tomas back by any means necessary. Once she got rid of the keeper of time that resided over her timeline, she now has the means to travel from universe to universe.
-over and over she went, jumping from timeline to timeline. Anyone that got in her way would perish and any alternate Tanya would quickly be quashed. Different versions of Tomas weren’t so lucky either. If they wouldn’t go along, they’d be killed in an instant.
-The other Seraphina eventually shows up to the current timeline and immediately has it out for her alternate self especially, because she’s jealous about how close her MK1 self is to MK1 Tomas.
-chaos ensues.
-the final scene consists of the current Seraphina and Tomas trying to talk her down and she eventually realizes that what she’s doing is wrong. Her Tomas wouldn’t have want this for her.
-Liu Kang initially considered imprisoning her in the void but Mk1 Seraphina and Tanya pleaded for him not to. So, she was taken to a timeline where she could truly achieve peace.
-Titan! Raiden knew better than anyone about losing yourself to darkness. So when Liu Kang showed up with the other Seraphina suffering from just that, he didn’t hesitate to agree to take her in. She was extremely remorseful and pleaded for his help.

Born From A Storm
Warnings:mentions of death and violence
Word Count:3,969
Summary:the Lin Kuei comes across the ruins of a village, with only one sole survivor. Seraphina Amin had her life ripped away by violence at such a young age, and seemingly would be forever forced to live in fear.
==============================
Snow was falling as a group of Lin Kuei trekked through the snow. The wind howled and the sky was dark. The posse was the only sign of civilization for miles among the miles and miles of trees. The man leading them was adorned in a cloak with red ninja garments under. He was also wearing the pin of his clan. He and his men were currently trying to get back to Earth realm, after a mission in Outworld.
As they trekked up a snowy hill, the leader struggled to get through the snow as it was above his knees. It was then one of the ninja’s exclaimed, “look!”. The men looked up to see smoke rising in the distance, from what looked like a fire. The leader’s eyes widened in panic and motioned for his men to pick up the pace.
The Lin Kuei came upon a village in complete rubble, presumably having been destroyed by fire as there were only smolders left. The smoke that had been seen was rising from what was left of a watchtower. Most of the buildings were empty, burned out shells and there were many bodies strewn about the snow, the blood scattering the snow like paint. The poor villagers were either killed by the fire, blades or arrows, or some sort of magic that made their bodies rot from the inside out. Some of them were purely bones. No one was spared, not even children.
“My god…” the leader muttered. He turned to his men, ordering, “look for survivors! And stay on your guard!”. The ninjas began to search around the seemingly abandoned village, still keeping their guard up as whatever or whoever was responsible, could still be lurking.
The man in red was looking around when he heard a gasping noise. He turned towards what looked like was once a rich, but small home. He ran in through the remains of a doorway and into the front room to see a man dressed in robes on the ground, twitching. Or what was left of the man, as his legs had rotted away and his chest had been ripped open. His face was horribly scarred and a good chunk of his jaw was gone. The ninja ran to his side, to see he clutched some sort of amulet in his left hand that must have been delaying the effects, but its power was wavering by the cracks in it. The man on the floor grabbed him by the arm, pulling him close, whispering in his ear. “Save……her…….she…..escaped” he wheezed.
The man finally keeled over and the amulet broke into pieces. He let out a guttural scream as the rot finally over took him. The ninja jumped back as he watched the man disintegrate into nothing but dust. He sighed, because he was use to death but to see a man die like that was frightening. He got up and quickly spotted a still intact portrait up on the wall. It was probably that way because of magic.
The man on the ground stood in the center, adorned in golden and purple robes with brown eyes and darker slicked back hair. Next to him was his wife, with skin like umber and beautiful, silky black hair, adorned in red and gold. Four children stood around him, a boy and a girl on either side of him, and two girls in the middle, one much taller than the other. They all looked to be ranged from the ages of 12-6.
The ninja wandered outside in the snow and immediately came across three decrepit forms on the ground. The magical rot had gotten to them first as they were all basically skeletons. They all looked to be the ages of the children in the portrait, but he couldn’t be sure. Yet their vicinity to the home was telling. The man breathed a prayer, before continuing on his way. The youngest child was still missing.
He went past the tree line, calling out, “hello! Hello! Is anyone here?”. As he kept on going, he came upon several large wave-like icicles jutting from the snow. He followed them as they got more erratic. He finally came upon one large wall of ice. It was so big that the man didn’t noticed the small figure at curled up on the bottom. The figure let out a whimper of pain, making the stranger finally notice them. He ran over, seeing it was the youngest girl in the center of the portrait. She had olive skin with thick, dark, wavy hair. Her left cheek and part of her neck had a large star-like scar still oozing with blood. She was practically drenched in the red substance from head to toe and was barely breathing.
“Zi Rui!” One of the men yelled from the distance, “where are you!”.
Zi Rui quickly picked up the frail girl in his arms and started to run back. “I found someone! She’s badly hurt!”. He clambered up through the snow in a hurry as she was fading fast. He soon joined the rest of his men, “we don’t have time to get her to earth realm. Heng Wen, do you know of a healer near here?”.
The ninja nodded, “yes, just over this hill!”.
Zi Rui quickly left with Heng Wen and several others, while the rest of the Lin Kuei continued to search the remainder of the village. Zi Rui and his men rushed the girl to the healer, who just barely managed to save her. Zi Rui proceeded to carry the young girl back to the Lin Kuei base with the rest of his men.
As the ninja was descending upon the entrance with his men, the doors opened and another man adorned in grey and yellow was there to meet them. He was tall with broad shoulders and a serious expression. At the moment he looked annoyed, until he saw the bundle Zi Rui was carrying. He rushed up to him and looked her over, then at Zi Rui. “Was she a casualty?” He asked.
Zi Rui shook his head, “no, we came across the ruins of a village”. He looked down at the little girl, her little pale face now much more peaceful than before. “She was the only survivor. We thankfully got her to a healer in time, but I do not know when she will wake”.
“Did you get the job done?” The second man asked. Zi Rui nodded. “Good” the man muttered, “good….but we can’t just take in anyone to share our secrets with”.
“Please!” Zi Rui pleaded. “She has no one left! Her village was burned to a crisp!”.
His face changed and he turned to another one of his men. “Is this true?” He asked.
One of the other ninja’s stepped forward and nodded, confirming the story. “Yes grandmaster. It was….”. He swallowed hard and spoke sounding like he was on the verge of tears. “Slaughter. No one was spared. This girl was the only survivor”.
The grandmaster looked down at the child. He gently took the little girl from Zi Rui and carried her inside. He put her up in a spare room as Zi Rui followed. As he tucked her in, a woman appeared at the door. “Huojin”.
Huojin turned to see her at the door. He was slightly confused before he saw the reason. He went to the door and the woman stepped aside, to reveal three little boys. Huojin sighed tiredly, “you three should be in bed”.
The shortest and presumably youngest one, looked past the man. “Who is that?”.
Huojin closed the door behind him. “She is a guest, my son” he explained, “she is injured, so she needs rest”. He picked up the youngest and started to motion the other two away. “All of you need rest as well, you can meet her soon”. As Huojin escorted his boys back to bed, the one in his arms still looked at the door.
Zi Rui stayed up to watch the girl for another hour, before he went to bed. Yet, he was rudely awoken the next morning by a large splash and screaming. He scrambled out of bed to change and ran out of his room. He came upon Huojin and his sopping wet sons, Bi Han, Kuai Liang and Tomas. All were crowded around the bedroom door of their little guest.
“What’s going on?” Zi Rui yawned.
Bi Han pointed under, “she attacked us! She got us all wet!”.
“Only because you were hovering over her like a creep!” Tomas shot back with.
“BOYS!” Huojin snapped, shutting them up. The grandmaster sighed and tiredly rubbed his brow. He turned to Zi Rui with an exhausted look on his face. “Can you help us look please? The boys startled her when she woke up and she could have gone anywhere”.
Soon almost the entirety of the Lin Kuei was out searching the grounds and the fortress for the little girl. Zi Rui and the grandmaster’s wife, Ai xue, were looking through a thicket when they came upon a grotto. This spot was a favorite of Zi Rui’s as he often came here to ponder, to meditate, and sometimes to write as he kept a journal from time to time. It was quiet, peaceful, the pond clear and crystal with vines hanging down to make it a sort of hideaway. Based on how this little girl had just lost her home, he knew this was probably a good hiding spot for her. Yet, on how clear the water was, it was obvious she wasn’t hiding in the water. She was nowhere to be seen.
Ai xue was looking around confused, defeated. “That poor little girl” she muttered as she continued to search, “she must be terrified out of her mind after waking up in such an unfamiliar place”. She was suddenly shushed by Zi Rui. She was taken aback before she saw what Zi Rui was looking at. Towards the end of the pond, there was rippling in the water, despite there being no wind. Ai xue’s eyes widened and she gasped. “She’s not under the water-“.
“She is the water” Zi Rui muttered, kneeling down at the pond’s edge. He took off his badge and held it over the pond. “Little one, if you are here, please know that you are safe. My name is Zi Rui and I’m a Lin Kuei, I protect people”. The ninja and the grandmaster’s wife were silent as the water remained unmoving. A ripple soon moved right below Zi Rui’s hand and a small pillar of water grew from the water. It absorbed his pin and pulled it back into the water. It stayed there a moment before it was spat out again. Zi Rui grabbed his pin and pinned back on his uniform. Finally the water stirred and he backed up as water started to creep out of its bounds. The watery mass soon formed into a much more human form.
The little girl’s face was still bandaged, mainly the left side. She was still in the pajamas she had been given when she arrived. She looked fearful but she seemed at more ease with the man. “What is your name?” He asked.
“My papa is dead, isn’t he” the girl said in a small voice.
Zi Rui gulped. “I’m so sorry” he apologized, “he was already too far gone when I got there. Your siblings weren’t so lucky either”. His heart ached at how much pain her eyes held. Her face scrunched until tears formed. Then she fell forward into his arms, wailing, “THEY’RE DEAD! PAPA, DIDI, VIVI, YAYA, THEY’RE ALL GOOONE! THE MAN KILLED THEM!”.
Zi Rui hugged her tightly, patting her back. “What man, blossom? Who did this?”.
She sniffled, “I-I don’t k-know. He had magic an-and claws on his arms”.
“Claws?” Ai Xue muttered.
Zi Rui picked the little girl up, whispering, “don’t worry, little one, you are safe. That man is never gonna hurt you ever again”. He and Ai Xue returned to the fortress with the little girl and the search was called off.
They came across Huojin first, who sighed with relief when he saw his right hand man carrying the girl. He jogged up to him. “Thank goodness you found her” he sighed, “where was she?”.
“The grotto” Ai Xue told her husband. “More importantly the water”.
Huojin was confused. He glanced at his wife, “but….she’s completely dry”. Ai Xue went to her husband’s side and whispered in her husband’s ear. His eyes widened in shock as he looked at the little girl. His wife had obviously told him of the child’s unusual ability. The grandmaster looked at his right hand man. Zi Rui gently nustled the girl to show her face and she cautiously looked over her shoulder at the grandmaster. Huojin’s features softened. He had seen a lot of pain in his life, but nothing compared to the pain in her eyes. “What is your name?” The grandmaster asked quietly.
“Seraphina” She said, her voice barely a whisper, “Seraphina Amin”. She quickly hid her face in Zi Rui’s shoulder again, clutching at his robes.
Zi Rui also looked at the girl with anguish and then up at his superior. “I’ll watch over her, grandmaster” he insisted, “like my own child”.
Both Huojin and Ai Xue smiled. They had known Zi Rui for the longest time. His caring nature could not let him stand by while this little girl was all alone. “I would not expect anything else from my second in command” Huojin said gratefully.
Later that night, Ai Xue sat down with her boys for dinner. Huojin soon appeared in the doorway. It was Tomas who first noticed Seraphina peaking out from behind his father’s robes. He smiled at her, but she quickly hid her face away. Tomas soon became more worried when he saw that his father looked cross though.
“I’m not entirely happy of what you three did this morning” He scolded them, “you scared the living daylights out of our poor guest here”. He looked at each of his son’s closely, “so whose idea was it, hm?”. All of the boys didn’t dare look Huojin in the eye.
Ai Xue looked at them disapprovingly, “one of you must fess up. No one’s eating until someone does”. The boys must have been absolutely starving, as at that moment, all hell broke lose. The three little boys started screaming and throwing accusations at each other about who had accidentally scared Seraphina. No one could tell who was speaking. “Boys…Boys….Boys…BOYS!” Ai Xue roared over the chaos. The boys all immediately shut up as their mother barely ever got angry, so when she did, she was to be taken seriously. She looked over where Seraphina was hiding, to apologize for her children’s behavior, but quickly realized she had disappeared once again. “She’s gone!” She cried.
Huojin looked behind him and gasped, looking around. That’s when he saw the door outside half way open. “No!” He hissed. The night was freezing and she was still injured so if she got far away enough, she could die and he wouldn’t know.
Seraphina had escaped during the argument and currently hiding in a bush outside. Her chest was tight, her head hurt, her entire body was shaking. She clamped her hands over her ears as everything was so loud. Her eyes were squeezed tightly and all she could see was how she lost her home. She barely remembered what had happened, only a great fire swallowing up her home, an army of undead attacking her mother and her father being down by magic from a man with claws. The panic she felt when she couldn’t find her mother and siblings bubbled up from the back of her throat. Despite how cold it was outside, she’d could steal feel the heat from watching her entire world burn up around her.
She jumped when she heard footsteps approaching the bush she was hiding in. She curled up into an even tighter ball, fearing it was either the grandmaster or his wife, coming to scold her from running from dinner. It was instead, the voice of Zi Rui who spoke.
“It’s cold out here, little one”. He sat down, cross-legged. There was no answer but he could hear her quickened breathing. It was heartbreaking at how terrified she was. The wind howled and Zi Rui shivered, but he was willing to stay outside all night if he had to, just to make sure she was okay. “I’m sorry that the grandmasters boys scared you” he apologized. He chuckled awkwardly, “they can be quite rambunctious, but Bi Han, Kuai Liang and Tomas mean well, I swear”. He thought more about Tomas and realized that he and Seraphina shared similar backgrounds. Both had lost their parents and siblings to great violence. Tomas had found a home among the Lin Kuei, and maybe Seraphina could too, with his help.
“It’s cold” he said softly, “and I’m sure you are hungry, do you just want to eat with me instead?”. He paused, waiting for a reply. There was a rustling and then she darted out of the bushes. Zi Rui almost fell backwards as she hugged him tightly. He clambered up to his feet, holding her up with one arm. Zi Rui then started to carry her back inside. “Thank you for trusting me, little one” he whispered. “As I said before, you are safe”.
Thankfully, Seraphina didn’t run away this time. Yet, during her first few weeks with the Lin Kuei, she would stay glued to Zi Rui’s side. She would cry every time he had to leave for a mission and would be the first one to greet him when he got back. It’s not that he found it annoying, he just still wanted her to play with kids her age, which were Huojin’s sons. She was still somewhat skittish of them though.
It was then Zi Rui was approached by Xiaoqing, the elder arcanist of the Lin Kuei. He had heard of Seraphina’s ability to turn into water and wished to offer his tutelage to the young girl. Zi Rui initially hesitated but he quickly remembered that Tomas was also being taught by Xiaoqing. Unlike his adopted brothers, Tomas wasn’t born with innate magic running through veins. So he was currently being taught smoke magic under Xiaoqing. Having Tomas and Seraphina both train under the arcanist could help the latter get out of her shell and strengthen her abilities in magic.
For her first training session, Zi Rui was allowed to supervise. He led Seraphina to the courtyard to see Xiaoqing waiting there in the sun. He was a tall, dark-looking man in Lin Kuei robes colored in dark purple and black. To most, he looked intimidating, something Zi Rui forgot to tell Seraphina about. She quickly hid behind the ninja’s legs from the arcanist.
He sighed and kneeled down in front of the child with his hands on her shoulders. “Xiaoqing is the elder arcanist of the Lin Kuei and despite how he looks like a villain from an absolutely terrible book, he is the nicest and kindest person there is”. He quickly added on his description with, “and has the worst jokes in all of the nine realms”.
“I heard that!” Xiaoqing laughed.
Zi Rui stood up and took Seraphina’s hand as Xiaoqing approached. He had a friendly smile on his face and kneeled at the girl’s eye level, so she wouldn’t be intimidated. “Seraphina was it? Zi Rui said you can turn into water” He said, “that is very impressive”. He got up and stepped side, pointing the murky-looking pond. “Do you think that you can get to the other side through the water? Just so I can see”.
Seraphina looked up at Zi Rui and he nodded. The two men watched as she cautiously inched towards the waters edge. She glanced back at the Lin Kuei and Zi Rui motioned for her to go on. She nodded and just like that, her body dissipated into water and easily blended into the pond. Xiaoqing watched in amazement as the water rippled towards the other side. And just like that, a blob of water spat itself out, once again forming into Seraphina.
“Amazing!” Xiaoqing applauded. He leaned towards Zi Rui, whispering, “young Tomas still hasn’t learned how to turn into smoke without losing his clothes, so maybe he could learn something”. Zi Rui stifled a laugh. The arcanist paced around the pond to where Seraphina was. “Miss Seraphina, do you know how you turn into water?” He asked.
She just shrugged, nervously fidgeting with hers hands. “Just the way….” She paused, her face falling slightly. “…My papa taught me”.
Xiaoqing quickly noticed her expression and kneeled, his face an expression of sympathy. “Little one” He said gently and she looked at him for the first time. “I am so sorry what you had to go through. This all must be very frightening. Yet, you honor your family by continuing on. You are strong, like a storm…born from a storm”. It was then Tomas arrived for his lesson. Seraphina turned to see him quickly look away in embarrassment. The arcanist chuckled at the sight, “I think young Tomas could learn from you. Despite being the same age, his magic could use a little work”. Seraphina giggled quietly.
Xiaoqing stood up and motioned for Tomas. The boy hesitated before he was shooed away by Zi Rui. He finally slinked over and Seraphina looked at him curiously. “Sorry” Tomas blurted out. He was obviously referring to how he and his brothers scared the living daylights out of her when she first arrived and about dinner.
“It’s okay” she muttered, still nervously fidgeting with her hands.
Zi Rui stepped back as the children’s lesson began. Seraphina showed her ability to turn into water by hiding in the pond. Tomas was in awe at her skill. “Now, Seraphina, can you explain how you do that to Tomas?” Xiaoqing asked.
“The way my papa taught me” She explained to Tomas, “I just think that I’m well-a….water”.
Xiaoqing turned to Tomas, “so, think about becoming Smoke, Tomas. Think of how free, how you can….ride along the wind”.
The boy nodded and teetered back and forth on his feet. He closed his eyes, muttering, something about “becoming air” under his breath. It was then he disappeared in a cloud of smoke. Seraphina coughed and wafted it away. All that was left of Tomas were his clothes crumpled on the ground. Zi Rui facepalmed and Xiaoqing was quickly looking around to where the boy had gone. The former was about to go search for Huojin’s youngest son when he heard snickering. He looked down to see Seraphina was starting to crack a smile. She immediately burst out laughing, so much so that even her sides hurt. Zi Rui just stared in shock as he had never even seen her crack a smile during her time here so far.
He looked over at Xiaoqing but saw he was already long gone, probably going to search for Tomas, who had probably gone into hiding due to embarrassment.
Seraphina was laughing so hard that she fell over and that she was in tears. Zi Rui just chuckled, shaking his head, “is that funny, little one?”. She nodded and pulled herself up to her feet, wiping her eyes. He held out his hand. “Do you want to go help look for Tomas?” He asked. She answered him by grabbing his hand.
While searching for Tomas, Seraphina was thinking. She had been brought into such a strange, unfamiliar world but had been shown such kindness.
Maybe she could find a home here.

Mortal Kombat Oc Headcanons lets go (why am I calling this headcanons, I control their canon)
-Seraphina and Tomas are the two most stealthiest of the Lin Kuei/Shirai Ryu and definitely used it to play pranks when they were younger
-absolute hide and seek champions
-Yumi was a surprise baby, as Sindel and Jerrod decided they were done after Kitana and Mileena were born
-she was also a very sickly child, making her much shorter and weaker than her sisters as children, so she hit her growth spurt much later than they did
-Claudia secretly kept a Photo Booth picture of she and Johnny as kids when they were still estranged, she still has it
-Long Fei and Ai Xue (parents to the Lin Kuei bros+sis) were an arranged marriage
-Long Fei’s side of the family has a long history of elemental magic, mainly fire and earth, he was arranged to married Ai Xue due to her family history of ice magic
-Min Le first showed signs of earth magic when she was only six and threw a tantrum, where her stomping started a small earthquake and dislodged the ground around her
-Yumi was left on her own as a kid sometimes, which is why she started studying earthrealm, mainly mythology of different cultures
-Claudia has a black belt in taekwondo, she got it during college mainly for self defense and just because she could
-Yumi is infuriated whenever no one believes her and Mileena that Kitana was an absolute little shit as a child
-as a kid, Seraphina took great pleasure in startling Bi Han, which is a good part of how she got so stealthy in the first place
-Seraphina’s native language is that of Madinatan, which is similar to arabic. Since she hasn’t had a need to speak it living on earth, she’s very rusty
-Min Le is a picky eater
-unless it comes to a mission, Seraphina normally can’t sit still, she always needs to be moving
-Claudia gets Seraphina some hair care products sometimes because Seraphina’s hair is so thick and curly and being a shirai ryu probably doesn’t have a salary
-Claudia and Johnny will both use the phrase “it smells like it’s gonna rain”, full on exposing themselves as midwesterners and everyone else being MAD confused
-Seraphina and Min Le eventually learn some Czech so they can both talk to Tomas in his native language
-bonus! edenians can’t get drunk off of human alcohol and to humans, Outworld alcohol is EXTREMELY strong
-Drunk Seraphina is really sappy and laughs at everything, drunk Claudia cries over anything and drunk Yumi is just brutally honest
-Seraphina normally sleeps in oversized shirts+shorts
-Min Le is a serial clothing thief, that includes her brothers and Seraphina and she can somehow pull the fit off every time
-Claudia loves puppy chow (it’s basically just Chex mix but way better)
-unbeknownst to most people, Claudia actually is a big foodie. She will try almost anything
-Johnny introduced Yumi to earthrealm music and she actually really loves a lot of 2000’s pop
-some of her favorite songs include Maneater and Promiscuous Girl by Nelly Furtado, Can’t Get You Out Of My Head by Kylie Minogue, Irreplaceable and Single Ladies by Beyoncé and Poker face by Lady Gaga
-Seraphina is a secret Rihanna stan
-Claudia also enjoys some of 2000’s pop but also loves Kali Uchis
-Min Le loves artists like Kate Bush, The Smiths, Conan Grey, some occasional k-pop and j-pop and also classical
-Seraphina does not like Nitara (for obvious reasons) like many others but has explicit beef with her solely based on the fact that Nitara thought her blood magic superior to water magic and Seraphina just went “bet” and is currently trying to learn how to bend blood
-out of all of my girls, Seraphina is the most hot headed. You get this woman mad, all hell breaks loose. She also can be hella petty too
-on the opposite end of the spectrum, it takes a lot to get Min Le truly angry, mostly because she takes a lot of unjust shit thrown at her but the one thing she will not take is someone underestimating her skills in combat
-when Yumi was born, Kitana and Mileena were NOT happy that they had another sibling, they were very mean towards her for awhile

Hear me out, what if there was a timeline where instead of Kuai Liang and Bi Han being Scorpion and Sub Zero, you have their parents as Scorpion and Sub Zero 👀
Like it’s very much Thomas and Martha Wayne in the flashpoint timeline. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a timeline in the DC universe where Bruce died instead of his parents. Martha is driven insane and becomes the joker, while Thomas becomes Batman. In this timeline, mama subzero wouldn’t go crazy, but she turns very cold and distant after the death of Bi Han and Kuai Liang. She and her husband still adopt Smoke and was very much a mother figure towards Riptide, but her breaking point is when she gives birth to a stillborn daughter (Min Le). After this, she solely focuses on the Lin Kuei, wanting power and control for once like she had been “robbed” of concerning the death of most of her children.
Everything pretty much happens like it does in the current timeline, and Smoke and Riptide have to watch the two people they considered parents/mentor figures fall apart :(

Bro I’ve become so obsessed with the custom Ai intros of Mortal Kombat by Oddgiantaf on YouTube. I originally was like “hee-hoo funny content” and now I am OBSESSED with it
-Rip Claudia you would have loved making neck jokes at Kung Lao
-Rip Riptide you would have loved beating up Nitara at Johnny’s Halloween party and having beef with Frost
-Rip Rhyolite you would have loved being absolute besties with Sareena
-Rip Yumi you would have loved calling the tyrannical Johnny Cage “John Crate”
Also I didn’t expect the tyrannical storyline to end like that? SO GOOD

A Regular Dinner, Right?
Warnings:nothing really, just a fight in a tea house, what can possibly go wrong?
Word Count:4,213
Summary:Raiden and Kung Lao thought they would get a regular evening, eating dinner at Madame Bo’s like they always did. Until it wasn’t.
=============================
It was a warm afternoon and Madame Bo’s was busy like usually around this time. It was a place that Kung Lao and Raiden loved to go to, due to Madame Bo’s absolutely amazing cooking. It was like another home for them away from the busy harvest. She was also their teacher in combat, so it would almost seem rude if they ate at another establishment. They wouldn’t dare, also because the best friends agreed that her cooking was the best. Yet, unknowingly to them, the evening would be very different, ultimately changing their lives forever.
Darkness was slowly rolling in as evening began. Outside of the restaurant, hidden among the thick foliage, Madame Bo was conversing with several masked individuals. Many of them were dressed in the same dark-colored uniforms, but five of them were colored differently, signifying their important statuses among them. Blue, Yellow, Grey, Red and Green.
“Now then, do we know what to do?” Madame Bo asked.
The one in yellow nodded. “Yes, we’ve gone through the plan multiple times, we know what to do”.
The masked figure in red slung a sledge-hammer over her shoulder, “we’re ready Madame Bo, we’ll give them the scare of their lives!”.
The tallest person among them, a man adorned in blue, stared icily towards the woman in red. “Not everything is a game, Min Le”. She quickly lowered her head in embarrassment as his glare was scrutinizing to the core.
Madame Bo, sensing the tension, told them, “have fun with it, just make sure to give them a hard time”. She quickly sent a disapproving look towards the man in blue and left to go back to her restaurant. She would make sure Raiden and Kung Lao would be caught completely off guard, so that their skills would be tested.
The green clad figure turned to the man in blue, also sharing Madame Bo’s reproachful reaction to the remark. She crossed her arms and her brows furrowed in annoyance. “Must you always be so rude?” She asked, coming to the defense of Min Le. The other man glared back with equal ferocity and expected the woman to back down but she would not. Yet, their staring match would quickly be ended with the man clad in yellow stepped between them.
“We are here to fight this Raiden and Kung Lao, not each other” He scolded the both of them. He turned to the man in grey, “you go in first, Tomas, Min Le will come with you as so will several others”.
Tomas nodded and he gestured for a small posse of others to follow him and Min Le to the restaurant. Once they were gone though, the man in yellow glared at the one in blue. “Must you always be so hard on our sister, Bi han?” He snapped, “she works just as hard as us to hone her power”.
“Silence, Kuai Liang!” Bi han yelled at his brother. He got up in his brother’s face, “how can such power be wielded with such immaturity then?”. He angrily stormed out of the brush. The last thing he said being, “if she wishes to be taken seriously among the Lin Kuei, then she must stop joking around”.
Meanwhile, Smoke and Min Le with some of the other Lin Kuei, had just made their entrance into Madame Bo’s. The plan was going along smoothly, Smoke demanded payment from Madame Bo, she refused and thus Smoke gave the signal to start trashing the place. Raiden and Kung Lao fell right into the plan, naturally coming to the defense of Madame Bo. Kung Lao quickly went after Smoke, while Raiden was forced to fight Smoke’s accomplice.
He had just finished off a Lin Kuei grunt when he was nailed in the side by a strong force. He tumbled to ground and looked up to see the woman in red, who was ready with her hammer.
Raiden pulled himself up, ignoring the pain in his side, “you won’t get away with this”.
She pointed her hammer at him. “You messed with the Lin Kuei, now you’ll pay!” She threatened.
Raiden had been taught how to fight against opponents with weapons, but he was sure Madame Bo never taught him how to fight against those who could manipulate earth. He had just successfully blocked a long string of kicks, only to watch as the woman’s fist and arm became coated in rock-like material. It was only when she uppercutted him was that he realized it was rocks. As he struggled to gain an upper hand, he was also thinking how it was possible.
With a wave of her hand, Raiden’s attacker summoned two beach ball-sized rocks from outside and launched them at him. He dodged the first one which went crashing into a table. The second one, he was able to jump on top of and launched himself at her. She tried to block him with her hammer, but he quickly knocked it out of her hands. He finally finished her off with a swift kick to the head and she was out for the count.
After taking out some more goons, Raiden and Kung Lao both thought it was over. That was until Raiden noticed Bi Han on the roof. The blue-clad stranger launched a blast of ice that landed at their feet. It was then they heard someone else entering the restaurant and looked to the right to see hopefully the last of the Lin Kuei. He was adorned in yellow and was swinging a kunai. He also had a noticeable scorpion tattoo on his left arm. Raiden and Kung Lao knew both of these men meant business by how they were starring the pair down.
“Freeze where you stand!” The cryomancer ordered the pair and threw ice at them again, this time encasing part of the railing.
Raiden, still shocked by what he had witnessed from earth bender, remarked, “how does he do that?”.
Kung Lao was equally worried about what lay ahead was also in agreement with Raiden. “I have no idea” he muttered. How was it that these color-coded ninjas weld such powers? The one known as Smoke was obviously a master in stealth by his name and manipulation of his namesake. The woman in red could manipulate earth and the cryomancer could obviously control ice. Kung Lao thought he could only see this type of stuff in movies, not in real life.
“You interfere with Lin Kuei business, leave, or face our wrath!” The man in blue growled.
Despite the man’s threat, Kung Lao and Raiden stayed firm. “Abandon Madame Bo?” Kung Lao asked while sounding almost offended at the prospect. “Not happening!”. It was at that moment the stranger jumped down from his spot on the roof. He tackled Raiden, causing both to tumble down the stairs.
Kung Lao was then suddenly set upon by the man wielding the kunai. He managed to wrap it around the farmer’s foot, but he put up a fight. The ninja, now a little more annoyed, snapped, “GET OVER HERE!”. He pulled as hard as he could and dragged Kung Lao towards him. As said before though, Kung Lao put up a fight. Once he was close enough, he sprang to his feet and kicked the ninja in the face. The attacker stumbled backwards into a table but quickly regained his footing.
“You want more? I have plenty” Kung Lao declared while stalking towards the man with the scorpion tattoo.
Kuai Liang quickly went for his kunai and got into a fighting stance. “You should have fled when you could, prepare to regret ever crossing the Lin Kuei!”. As the two fought, Kung Lao found out the hard way that this yellow-clad ninja also could manipulate an element, that being fire. He almost seared Kung Lao’s jacket when he ignited his blade into flames. The farmer barely got out of the way in time but so close that he could feel the kunai’s blazing heat. If he and Raiden managed to win this fight, he’d have many questions for Madame Bo afterwards as she seemed to know these Lin Kuei quite well. That was if she would live.
Eventually, Kung Lao was victorious against the fire-wielding warrior and ran to the railing. Gazing down onto the first floor, he saw Raiden was fighting against the ninja in blue. The attacker knocked Raiden into a pillar, causing him to quickly scurry up to the second floor. The ninja was close to follow. As Kung Lao was looking to help his friend, he didn’t hear the sound of boiling water behind him. Once Raiden was up on the second floor and saw Kung Lao, he called out, “Kung Lao, look-AUGH!”. He didn’t get a chance to finish when the blue-wearing ninja kicked him into the bar.
Kung Lao looked behind him, only to barely move out of the way as a knife almost came down on his head. “Not another one!” He cried as this time, it was a woman dressed in a uniform like the others but in a shade of sea-foam green. He quickly realized that her shade was probably inspired by what she could manipulate, that being water. It was then he remembered that the human body contained water by her controlling his arm against his will, causing him to punch himself in the face. Still with one free arm though, he managed to grab a chair and swung it at her with all his might.
It directly hit her in the chest, causing her to fall back and knocked her mask off. Even though she was trying to kill him, he had to admit she was pretty. Her hazel eyes complimented her warm-colored skin and dark brown hair. Regaining control of his arm, he smirked. “I’d hate to hurt such a pretty face”.
“Flattery will get you nowhere” she hissed as she got up and put her mask back on. She twirled her blade between her fingers. “Those who mess with the Lin Kuei don’t ever do so again!”.
Kung Lao cracked his knuckles, preparing himself to fight. “Alright, not the talking type, I get it”. She was fast and aggressive, Kung Lao would soon learn but he was up to the challenge. He eventually won by managing to block her from stabbing him and slammed her head into the wall, causing her to drop to the floor instantly. Now that she was out of the way, Kung Lao ran to go help Raiden.
Raiden had just gotten his hand frozen to the bar-top by the remaining Lin Kuei. The ninja seemed ready to finish him off when something lightly hit him in the back of his head. He turned around to see Kung Lao and his hat on the ground. The farmer just shrugged cockily as he had still succeeded in getting the man’s attention.
“Incompetent” the ninja hissed.
Kung Lao responded by grabbing a chakram off the wall and hurled it at the attacker, managing to cut him in the arm. “That works!” Kung Lao cried excitedly, now having somewhat of a fighting chance against the Lin Kuei.
The cryomancer stormed towards Kung Lao, clearly looking for a fight. “I have had enough of you!” he roared.
Kung Lao would not back down. “Then go!” He ordered the invader, “before I put you down like the rest of your Lin Kuei”.
The ninja, not once put off by Kung Lao’s overconfidence, looked prepare to fight. “You haven’t a prayer against the Lin Kuei’s grandmaster” he stated coldly with an icy stare to match. He blasted ice at Kung Lao and he dodged, managing to get up close and personal. He punched the man straight in chest but quickly got punched in the gut. Raiden then came out of nowhere and briefly overwhelmed the ninja with an onslaught of punches and kicks.
Despite the grandmaster’s clear skill, Kung Lao and Raiden overcame him by working together. It was now eerily silent and the Lin Kuei were all sprawled out on the floor. Kung Lao just looked at the grandmaster’s body and grinned smugly. “Are you sure you’re a grandmaster?”. He went to grab his hat and he saw the chakram still embedded in the wall. He traced his fingers over the brim of his hat, thinking.
“Kung Lao! Over here!”.
Kung Lao ran where he heard Raiden call his name. He was knelt next to Madame Bo’s body next to a broken table. “Madame Bo” Kung Lao muttered in a worried tone. She was motionless so both of her students expected the worse.
“She’s out cold” Raiden told him.
Kung Lao cautiously took a step towards the woman’s body to attempt to wake her. “Oh no, is she-”.
Suddenly, Madame Bo’s eyes snapped open and lifted her head, “dead? Not yet”.
Both Kung Lao and Raiden as their teacher stood up like nothing had happened. She pulled out a cigarette and a lighter, taking in a puff. “M-Madame Bo!” Kung Lao sputtered, “how are you-”.
“Kung Lao!” Raiden cut him off and pointed towards another unknown coming towards them. He wore a hooded cloak and was shrouded in darkness, except for his eyes. They were glowing. Both men shared the thought of how on earth this night could possibly get even weirder. They just hoped Madame Bo would give them an explanation soon enough.
As the final stranger of the night removed his hood, he addressed the elder.
“So, Madame Bo, are they ready?”.
She dragged on her cigarette and gestured to her students. “A bit thick in the head, perhaps, but they are ready”.
Unlike the ninjas who had previously attacked them, this man at least had the decency to introduce himself. “I am Lord Liu Kang. God of fire and protector of earthrealm”.
“God? Earthrealm?” Kung Lao repeated, sounding absolutely confused.
Liu Kang nodded, “Madame Bo has been preparing for this moment since you were boys. Today, you have proven worthy of joining my champions”.
This night was just shock after shock, Raiden thought. “This fight was…” he thought out loud, “a test?”.
“Of your ability and character, yes” the god stated.
He then turned to the Lin Kuei sprawled out on the floor. “Bi Han, Kuai Liang”. At the God’s beckoning, the Lin Kuei got up from where they lay, also revealing their part in the test. The ones known as Bi Han and Kuai Liang descended the stairs to join Liu Kang. Smoke, the two women and the rest of the Lin Kuei just stood at the top of the stairs.
Bi Han and Kuai Liang stood beside the god as Kung Lao asked, “so these two aren’t thugs?”.
“The Lin Kuei is a centuries old clan dedicated to earthrealm’s defense” Liu Kang explained to the earthrealmers.
Raiden then spoke up, coming between Kung Lao and Madame Bo. “You keep saying earthrealm. Don’t you mean earth?”.
Madame Bo just shook her head with a smile. “You boys have so much to learn”.
Liu Kang shared Madame Bo’s sentiment. “Earth is only an apart of earthrealm”. He added on with, “earthrealm itself is one of many realms. Together they comprise the whole of the universe”.
Madame Bo turned to her students. “The realms can be fierce, bitter rivals” she explained to them, “that’s why we need champions to defend ours”. Both Raiden and Kung Lao shared a skeptical glance, wondering why they were chosen specifically.
The two were even more mystified when Liu Kang told them that it was soon time for a very important martial arts tournament between them and the realm known as Outworld. He told them how it was an opportunity for each realm to show its strength. And how if earthrealm won, it could deter dissenters from Outworld wishing to wage war on Earth itself. Kung Lao seemed eager but Raiden was apprehensive. Unlike his friend, he never really imagined leaving Fengjian. Yet, Madame Bo insisted that the two had to finish their training with Lord Liu Kang, presumably not in Fengjian.
“More training?” Kung Lao groaned. He gestured to Bi Han and Kuai Liang, “these two couldn’t defeat us”. The Lin Kuei’s grandmaster scoffed and Madame Bo let out a chuckle. “What?” Kung Lao asked.
“They were pulling their punches” Madame Bo revealed.
The grandmaster leered at the two, “had we not held back, you would not have survived”.
Liu Kang quickly put himself between the ninja and his two champions as scaring them wasn’t his intention. “Come. The monks at the Wu Shi Academy, await to continue your tutelage”.
Kung Lao stepped forward, quickly accepting the path that lie ahead. “I am ready, Lord Liu Kang” he said with clear determination in his voice. Meanwhile, Raiden held back in confirming his answer to Liu Kang’s offer. His face seemed deep in thought.
Liu Kang seemed to sense this, asking to make sure. “And you, Raiden?”.
“Leave Fengjian?” Raiden asked. “I’m needed here”.
“Earthrealm needs you, Raiden” Madame Bo insisted. She accurately guessed out of the two of her students, Raiden would be much more cautious. Yet this was no time for second guesses. Unbeknownst to the humble farmers, they would be lead into a world of intrigue and adventure like they had never experienced. “You’ll best serve the village by being one of its champions” Madame Bo remarked.
Raiden, seemingly satisfied by his teacher’s words, decided to follow Kung Lao into the unknown. “I understand”.
“Excellent” Liu Kang said, pleased. “I will join you soon. First there are other champions I just gather”. He then gestured to the three others up on the stairs. “Tomas, Seraphina and Min Le will escort you to the academy”. Raiden and Kung Lao just watched as Liu Kang summoned a portal of fire. He, Bi Han and Kuai Liang disappeared through it.
Madame Bo looked up at the three mentioned by Liu Kang. “Tomas! Min Le!” She snapped, making the two jump at her tone. She gestured to the damage in the areas they had caused. “I know I told you two to make it real, but not that real!”. She then gestured to Seraphina, Tomas, Min Le, Raiden, Kung Lao and the rest of the Lin Kuei there. “Before anyone leaves, all of you are cleaning up this mess!”.
“Oh come on!” Kung Lao groaned.
“Yes Madame Bo” Min Le said begrudgingly as she and the other Lin Kuei moved to start cleaning.
Raiden and Kung Lao were handed brooms by Madame Bo. They started to sweep and clear away the rubble on the first floor, while the Lin Kuei was cleaning up the second. Raiden just wanted to get the job done so that he could train as soon as possible. He quickly noticed that Kung Lao was doing quite the opposite. He was sweeping but spending much more time staring at the female Lin Kuei clad in green as she cleaned.
“Kung Lao” Raiden said sternly, getting his friend’s attention.
Kung Lao turned to him to see he was getting a face of disappointment. “What?” He shrugged, “she’s pretty. And besides, since she wasn’t actually trying to kill me, maybe I have a-ACK!”. He jumped back as a throwing knife embedded itself between his feet. He looked up to see the woman laughing along with the man in grey.
“I think you’ve got your answer” Raiden chuckled as he continued to clean up. As he worked, he noticed the person he assumed to be Min Le when Madame Bo yelled at her a few moments ago, struggling to move some rubble. He put down his broom and descended up the stairs.
“Allow me” he offered, helping her move part of a broken table. They maneuvered it down the stairs and outside, where it would most likely be picked up later. Placing it down, he wiped off his hands. “Are you the one they call Min Le?” He asked.
She nodded and removed her mask. She revealed a much more friendly face underneath it, “yes! You and your friend Kung Lao were so much fun to fight against!”. Raiden was a little taken aback by how bubbly she was under the mask she wore. Just a few moments ago, she was trying to severely maim him and how she was going off about how he and Kung Lao were great entertainment for her. He was also surprised by how young she was. She looked to be barely twenty years old.
The man now known as Tomas poked his head out from an upstairs window, “Min Le! You can chat with him later, we have to finish cleaning!”.
“Coming Tomas!” She hollered.
“How do you know Tomas?” Raiden asked.
She nodded, “he’s my brother, so are Kuai Liang and Bi Han. I’m the youngest”.
“What about the woman in green?”. He was obviously referring to the woman who had just thrown a knife between Kung Lao’s feet. “The one that…clearly sent a message to Kung Lao”.
Min Le knew what he was referring to and laughed. “That’s Seraphina. She’s not officially my sister but we’re just as close as if we were siblings”. The two walked back inside, where Raiden was approached by Seraphina herself.
She removed her mask and Raiden quickly noticed the burn scar that covered most of her left cheek. He could even see that covered a good portion of her neck as well. Her expression looked a lot softer now that she didn’t have to pretend to be some sort of thug. She held out her hand, “Raiden was it? I’m Seraphina Amin, you fought well”.
Raiden shook her hand. “Thank you. Min Le was just telling me about you”.
“All good things I hope” Seraphina chuckled softly. She looked behind her to make sure Kung Lao was not in the vicinity. He was cleaning up in the other side while Madame Bo was scolding him about something. “Your friend needs to learn some manners” she whispered to Raiden.
Raiden sighed, “I will speak to him, but Kung Lao means well, I swear”.
Seraphina rested her hands on her hips. “He doesn’t have any ego compared to Bi Han though….” she muttered out loud.
“Seraphina!” Min Le exclaimed.
“Bi Han?” Kung Lao said as he joined his friend’s side. He gestured to mimic like how Bi Han blasted ice from his hands. “Was he grandmaster grumpy pants?” He asked.
“Bi Han can be a bit grumpy” Min Le laughed awkwardly. She briefly glanced towards Seraphina a look of annoyance. “But as our Grandmaster, he was taught to only want the best for our clan and has succeeded thus far”. There was a noticeable tension that told Kung Lao and Raiden that Seraphina wasn’t too fond of the grandmaster.
“Then the guy with the kunai must be Kuai Liang, right?” Kung Lao asked. He motioned to his left arm, “and what’s with the scorpion tattoo?”.
“Because he’s called Scorpion” Tomas said, joining his sister. The “thug” that had muscled his way inside didn’t seem to threatening anymore. His eyes were soft and even with his mask on, he radiated a warm and friendly aura. “He is called Scorpion because his sting is something to be feared, but Kuai Liang is usually pretty calm”.
“So is Bi Han is what, the iceman?” Kung Kao commented.
Madame Bo laughed from behind them. “Not quite. Bi Han is known as Sub-Zero”. She went down the line, “then you have Riptide, Smoke and Rhyolite”.
“Fitting” Raiden remarked.
Madame Bo turned to her students. She each took one of their hands in hers, “good luck. To both of you. Make sure to write while away from Fengjian”.
Kung Lao smiled, “don’t worry, we will”.
Madame Bo nodded and ushered them towards the door. “Alright, off you two go, you have to start training with the monks sometime”. Her students would be forever grateful for her guidance, despite how strict she could be. Now, just like Kung Lao had longed for, it was time for an adventure beyond Fengjian.
As the pair left with the Lin Kuei though, something occurred to Kung Lao. He turned to Raiden, “you know how during the fight, before you got knocked into the bar?”.
Raiden raised an eyebrow. “Yeah?”.
“Where exactly did Seraphina come from?” Kung Lao inquired. It could have been that he was so absorbed in the fight that he didn’t hear her coming, but he was not sure.
Raiden hesitated. “Um…..” he muttered, “I’m not sure you’ll believe me”. Kung Lao scoffed. After what they had just learned, he would believe anything. “The teapot” Raiden told him plainly.
Kung Lao laughed but saw his friend was serious. It was then the two men heard a chortle coming from Seraphina. She motioned to a puddle they came upon. “Watch this”. She acted like she was going to step on it, but instead completely disappeared into the water. Then just like that, she reappeared behind Raiden and Kung Lao from another puddle.
“Incredible” Raiden muttered.
Seraphina removed her blade and absorbed it in a small ball of water above her palm. The weapon twirled in its suspended state as she remarked,
“you two have much to learn about outworld itself”.

The mortal Kombat fixation is at an all time high, I have caved, here are the sillies
Mortal Kombat Oc’s!!!-Part One!
—————————————
Claudia La Rue
(Warning:child abuse, general angst up ahead)
Real name:Claudine Gertrude Carlton
Age:Mid to late twenties
Birth place:Red Hills, Indiana
Current Residence:New York City, New York
Family
-Father:Robert Carlton(deceased)
-Mother:Rose Carlton
-Brothers:Franklin, Jonathon, Jimmy
-Sister:Rebecca
-appearance:standing at 5’6, Claudia has a pale complexion with a roundish face, thinnish brows, hooked nose and brown eyes. Her black hair goes a bit past her shoulders (think a bit like Jessica rabbit but less wavy) and swoops over her left eye.
She has somewhat of a triangular body shape, where her hips are a bit wider than her shoulders. She’s reasonably fit from exercising regularly and getting into fights growing up, so there some noticeable muscle that is usually hidden by her clothing. She’s got small scars on her hands from fighting as a teen, a long scar on the back of her left thigh from a childhood accident, and several cigar burns on the back of her neck brought on by her dad in childhood, usually covered by her hair.
Her default outfit is a white, dressy sleeveless top, a leather jacket, black slacks and black heeled boots that stop just below her knees.
-Backstory:Claudia LaRue can only be described as a young prodigy in the world of fashion. An accomplished fashion designer all before the age of thirty, she took the world by storm, appearing in all sorts of magazines and interviews. Yet, she is also seen as cold, cut throat, and a workaholic, many believing she stepped on many people “clawing” her way to where she is now. Her background is also one of question and people can only guess that she came from old money or maybe even European royalty by her last name and the way she just is. The only rumor that was entirely accurate was that she has had to fight for a long time.
Claudia was born Claudine Gertrude Carlton in the tiny farming town of Red Hills, Indiana. The forth out of five children, she was the second daughter born to deputy Rose and farmer Robert Carlton. Her childhood was one of strife as Robert was an angry man, often taking his rage out on his children. Claudia could only really find comfort in her brother Johnny, as they were the closest in age.
They’d could often be found making movies in the backyard. Then whenever their parents could be heard arguing, they’d hide under Johnny’s bed for hours, talking about anything. Mostly how they would leave home for good, together. Robert’s abuse would continue to escalate, including burning Claudia with his cigar, until one night, Rose would unalive Robert in self-defense during an argument. She would be cleared of all wrongdoing in court, but the Carltons would forever become pariahs in their tiny town.
Claudia would be picked on and in response to this, she was sent up north to a fancy, all girl’s boarding school in New York on scholarship. Yet, she would continue to get bullied up there, for even being on scholarship. Rose had already taught Claudia how to fight a little, which was an advantage against her bullies. She would write often to her mother and Johnny. Claudia would excel in her studies and would make friends, but that still wouldn’t stop her from getting picked on. To finally try to get her bullies to stop, one of her friends told her about the school’s secret fight club. Many of the girls would be in the basement after school hours, beating the crud out of each other. Most of Claudia’s bullies participated within the club and she saw this as a way to get her bullies to leave her alone for good.
Claudia would rise to become the undefeated champion of her entire time at school, succeeding in getting her bullies to stop. Yet, over her time in school, Johnny slowly stopped writing to her. Confused, she went home after she graduated to find that Johnny had changed completely. He had become more obsessed with fame and much more full of himself. He didn’t want to spend time with her anymore as he spent a lot of his time trying to get his start in Hollywood. She wanted to be supportive of him, but it was difficult due to how poorly he was treating her.
She would confront him over his behavior when she was 18, and the two would have a heated argument, where some hurtful things would be said. Johnny would leave home the next day, leaving Claudia hurt and angry. She wasn’t able to leave until a year later. Once she did, she vowed to never return. It was then she would return to New York to get a start on her own career, eventually becoming a fashion designer.
It was years later when Liu Kang would go searching for his champions, Claudia being one of them. She hadn’t spoken to Johnny in years and definitely wasn’t happy to see him. After some reluctance, she eventually agreed to join Liu Kang.

-appearance:at five feet and eleven inches, Seraphina is a well-built and intimidating looking woman. She has brown-tinted terracotta colored skin, dark brown wavy, bouncy hair that is a normally worn up but is shoulder length and has hazel eyes.
A more rectangular body-type, she is muscular due to her intense training in fighting and magic. Her most noticeable feature is a large, star-like burn scar, reaching from the tip of her left shoulder, covering half of her neck, the a little bit of her chest, the left side of her jaw and most of her left cheek. She’s also got a few scars on her torso from training as a Lin Kuei.
Her default outfit is the standard Lin Kuei/Shirai Ryu uniform but in seafoam green. Her mask is also seafoam green and somewhat resembles coral in its texture, covering up most of her scar.
Backstory:Seraphina Amin was born in a wealthy, but small and remote village up in the mountains of Outworld called Madinat. She was the youngest child out of four siblings, one boy and two other girls, to the high mage of Outworld at the time, Ignatius and his wife Basma Amin. Being the daughter of a high mage, she and her siblings were trained in magic as early as possible. Ignatius was particularly strong in water and ice magic, him teaching his youngest the former. She would live with her family in luxury until one day, it was all taken away in the blink of an eye.
At the tender age of eight, her village was beset upon by an army of unknown origin to her. They were lead by a younger Shang Tsung, who was in the process of starting his experiments. He had been given orders by Damashi to destroy Madinat and to end Ignatius by any means necessary. Due to Madinat being so isolated, they were powerless to stop the attack. Their best bet was Ignatius. Despite being high mage though, he had clearly underestimated Shang Tsung’s power. Ignatius would die, not knowing the fate of his wife and children.
During the chaos, Seraphina would be separated from her mother and siblings. She would witness Shang Tsung striking down her father, and in her anger, would release a powerful wave of magic against Shang Tsung. Her magic was unusually powerful at such a young age, most likely caused by her anger at seeing her father killed, but erratic and unfocused. Shang Tsung would easily win against her, giving her the large scar she now covers with her face mask. Seraphina would seemingly be left to die in the snow.
Fate would intervene, as the girl would wake up in a warm bed, bandaged and taken care of. Also with three random little boys standing over her.
Naturally, she was terrified out of her mind, waking up in an unknown place. She ran out of her room screaming and crying and would disappear. Those three little boys would turn out to be Tomas, Kuai Liang, and Bi Han. And they would be forced to help search for their little guest by their parents.
Unbeknownst to Seraphina, the Lin Kuei had stumbled across the smoldering ruins of Madinat while coming back from a mission in Outworld. Led by the second in command, Zi Rui, he would order his men to search the village for survivors. Zi Rui would find Ignatius, who was amazingly still alive but was quickly being overtaken by magical rot. Ignatius’s last words to Zi Rui were to “find them….keep them safe”. Zi Rui could assume it was the man’s children by a faded portrait on the wall. Seraphina would be the only one he found alive.
Zi Rui and the grandmaster’s wife would be the ones to find Seraphina, hiding out in a pond. It was then that it was realized she could turn into water and had a better grasp of water magic than first assumed. She would be coaxed out primarily by Zi Rui, who would go onto to primarily raise and train her to become a Lin Kuei.
As she grew, she would particularly grow close to Tomas. Both had lost their families at such a young age and could find comfort in each other that both of them had found a new home. Yet, the one person she didn’t get along with, no matter how hard she tried, was Bi Han. He was particularly cold towards her and Tomas and she couldn’t understand why. She would frequently get into scuffles with Bi Han, especially when he was being mean towards Tomas. She would also be witness to the birth of the final child of the grandmaster, a daughter named Min Le. Min Le was difficult pregnancy for the grandmaster’s wife and was born prematurely, so everyone among the Lin Kuei would hold their breath to see if either baby or mother survived.
Thankfully, baby and mother would live, but the latter being severely weakened. Seraphina and Min Le would develop a very sister-like relationship and would be the first one to comfort Min Le when her mother died from illness. She would also protect Min Le from Bi Han as he partially blamed his sister for “taking their mother away” because Min Le’s birth is what “weakened” their mother in the first place.
Eventually graduating to a full Lin Kuei, she would actively be against Bi Han ascending to grandmaster as she didn’t trust him. Yet, she would be in the minority and would be powerless to stop his ascension.
