"And you cannot possibly comprehend what I have been through. You have left me alone time and time again and I have tolerated it because you're Spider-Man," she argued and glared at her husband. "But this, Peter, this is more than just leaving me. You came back hating me." Mary Jane knew that there was a lot she had to deal with being Spider-Man's wife, but this was different. This felt like it was more than she bargained for and she didn't know how to deal with it, but with Peter saying he was going to leave was not what she wanted. Even if she was still hurt and weary of him, space was not what she wanted from him. In fact, it was the last thing she wanted from him. She still needed him right here. She needed him as a reminder that her husband was back and not some stranger. MJ knew that both their emotions were high and she was scared she was going to say something she would regret, but she was angry and hurt and everything was coming up all at once she was overwhelmed. "I just need you here, Peter. Even if I'm terrified, I need you in my vicinity because I need to know you're real and I'm not dreaming." Mary Jane wasn't even thinking about where that black goo thing went. In truth, it was the last thing on her mind. What she was more concerned about was Peter and the state of their marriage. It felt as if it was hanging by a thread. "I don't know!" she couldn't help but yell, collapsing on the couch and burying her face in her hands. "I don't know what I want from you but I know I don't want you to leave. I don't want to be left alone with my thoughts" Mary Jane started to cry, her body slumping in an almost defeated manner. "I just want everything to go back to what it was."
Peter’s head felt like it was about to explode. He genuinely had no idea what to do anymore. It felt like he was being pulled from limb to limb from every direction. He wanted everything to disappear for once and just be able to curl up beside Mary Jane. But he couldn’t even do the curling up part because MJ wanted nothing to do with him. Even worse, she was getting very angry at him for removing himself out of this situation. So what the hell was he supposed to do? She was mad that he wanted to give her space, but yet space from him seemed to be what she needed because she couldn’t be around him without flinching. Peter’s head continued to hurt more and more. “Yes, exactly, Mary Jane. Everything did just happened. And I’m sorry that I said some really awful things to you, but you cannot possibly comprehend what I’m going through right now. I’m trying my best to keep it together, but you have no idea. It’s like I just came back from a coma and I’m trying to piece things back together one by one, but I can’t because the pieces keep breaking and I don’t have enough time to put them back together because they’re all breaking at the same time and it keeps getting worse and worse.” Peter exhaled deeply as he placed his hands over his face. Dealing with the repercussions of what he did under the black suit was one thing, but there was also the issue of where the symbiote even went. It was torn right off of him due to the loud church bells, but Peter had passed out and he had no clue where the symbiote had gone. It wasn’t as if it died because he had checked. He checked to see if there had been any sign of it on the ground or the walls, but nothing. It disappeared. And it was alive. If it was alive and it attached itself to a new host, that brought in a whole new set of problems. But, no, it’s not like Peter could even start to try and figure all that out when his marriage was falling apart at the moment. Dropping his arms harshly against his side, he stepped closer to the redhead. “What do you want from me, MJ? Tell me. What do you want from me and I’ll do it. Just please, I don’t know what to do.” While his voice had held firmly at first, it quickly descended into a tone of desperation.

Neil, Clouds, Trees, Summer in New Jersey, 2009
#01-040-01
Expired slide film developed at home in exhausted slide chemistry shot in a thrift store point and shoot camera (Argus, maybe?) from the 1940s.
This was the summer that Michael Jackson died. I drove back from New Jersey in my 1993 Ranger with an mix cassette heavy on early MJ that Neil made for the occasion.

Spider-Man Read-Through 040: Hitman's Back In Town (ASM 172-175, Ann 11)
MASTERPOST
In this batch, Peter (tries) to shoot a movie, Aunt May is a delinquent, and we see a few villains return!
Let's go through Annual 11 first!
So Aunt May's at a protest (we've previously seen she's invested in politics now!) and gets arrested because the cops think she's violent. The bail (because I forget the US has bail) is 200 dollars, which is a bit more than 1000 current dollars. Oof. No wonder Peter is stressed out.
I think she meant, "You can't make a Tomlet without breaking a few Greggs". Understandable mistake.
So May kind of sucks.
To cheer Peter up, MJ suggest he comes with her at work. She's an actress, you see! Well, an extra, but that's a detail. The villain is none other than... Man-Spider, to Peter's sadness. Mishaps happen, and Spidey ends up saving our villain. The crew offers him a role, which is something we've seen a few times before. It never goes very well!
The costume creator is NOT happy about that though, and he recruits three goons to fight our hero with some of his costumes.
I guess the artists wanted to draw aliens.
Look, it's been a long time for Peter, you know? Let's forgive him for all this mess.
So these spiders go at it for a while, and naturally, Spidey wins the fight. But suddenly... the place EXPLODES!
Turns out the evil guy wasn't the costumer, but a producer all along! Spidey takes care of him.
...Okay, whatever. If you couldn't tell, I skimmed through the issue. Do bails even get refunded? What the heck?
The issue features a second, shorter story. At the Coffee Bean, Peter and MJ are under attack. Turns out the nice musician was in cahoots with the gangster, oooh! At the end, MJ's angry at Pete for abandoning her.
A n y w a y.
ASM 172 time!
The story starts right in the action, as Spidey pursues Rocket-Racer, a McDonald's cosplayer. Spidey catches our clown, and more importantly, we get some panels with the other members of the cast, thank Lord!
I KNEW IT!!!! He's back! He's baaaaack! I did say he'd be back, hell yeah.
Afterwards, at a restaurant, Harry asks Peter to be his boyfr---I mean, his best man. Then they notice Liz, agitated, passing by. However, she runs away before Harry can catch up to her. Harry's understandably taken aback, and Peter tries his best to comfort him.
No, there's no kisses involved, to our great dismay.
At the Bugle, Gloria seems to strive just as before. Jameson is upset, as usual. However, when Dr Madison calls him, only joy remains in his brain and he dismisses Peter. Jameson's not quick enough to avoid Peter seeing Madison, however.
Great, Peter's finally caught up. Dear Lord.
Turns out Liz Allen is in a cell! She tried to steal things at a hospital, but can't bring herself to tell Peter WHOMST she did it for. Peter calls Robbie, and the latter accepts to bail out Liz.
Spidey tracks the Molten Man, who complains that his gloves didn't last long. Friend, here's a tip for you: your underwear is stronger than anything else, maybe you should study it and understand what's going on with it. Just a thought.
They fight, then police interrupt them. Onto #173!
The most important thing right off the bat is that one of the doctors does kung-fu.
Completely random, but I love it.
Meanwhile, the Molten Man finds himself a scientist who will ~willingly~ help him create the serum he needs to become human again. And it works!
Or not. Well, this is depressing.
Meanwhile, with our cast, Liz tells the reader that Harry will soon have the hand on his father's business. Oh. The sketchy shrink miiiiight be interested in that. The cops barge in and ask Liz to come with them. Raxton wants to have a discussion!
Later, Peter receives a letter from ESU. They say that he can't graduate since his grades are insufficient. Oops.
He also receives a call from Robbie, asking him to take pictures of the Raxton/Liz situation.
Raxton tells his step-sister he knows he's dying.
She makes a point, and Raxton obviously forgets he's in a comic book. Also, I love this moment between Liz and Spidey? It's small, but it's great.
The two super-powered people fight. Liz begs Spidey to not attack the MM, but he replies that he doesn't have a choice. To this, I answer... really, Spidey? Really? He wasn't particularly antagonistic before. He apologized to the earlier scientist and he had a civil, resigned conversation with his step-sister. Every time the Molten Man comes up, Spidey acts like an asshole.
At least we get an... interesting panel. Does anyone have Tarantino's phone number?
That's a cool setpiece, honestly.
Raxton says once more than he has no chance to survive this time, which we all know is bonkers, and the more he talks about it, the more ridiculous it becomes.
The Molten Man begs Liz to not let him die alone, then he explodes. Liz is depressed.
Oof. This is an awful parallel, not only to what happened a few panels ago, but also, and most importantly...
...to this.
:(
In the readers' letters, the team says that they made a mistake previously: nobody knows Harry was the Green Goblin, they just believe he thought he was. Okay. Makes more sense.
Also, this:
Uh-oh.
Onto #174!
The covers during Len Wein's run have been interesting. They're beautiful, but they seem a bit too busy.
The issue begins with Frank Castle, alias the Punisher, going through a frankly nice battle (I don't say that often!) with the People's Liberation Front.
Spidey's about to fling into his window when his landlady opens it herself and throws out ammoniac water right on Pete's costumed face--it's cleaning day, after all! That's funny.
Meanwhile, the PLF wants Jameson out of the picture and hires the Hitman to get rid of him. I'm on their side, Jameson sucks any time he tries to kill our hero.
Later, Peter stumbles on Harry and Flash not being boyfriends, nor sir, go away, there's nothing to see here! I ship them.
Turns out Liz has broken up with Harry, who's dismayed. Flash makes a disparaging comment about Liz, and Harry loses it. He's not a fan of Flash's attempts to cheer him up.
To help Harry, his two friends bring him to his doctor. Hmm. Sure. Yeah. What a great idea. Nothing bad will happen, I presume. Huh-huh.
What's funny is that after his few few cameos, they really toned down the doctor's creepiness. But there's still something unsettling beneath his eyes...
On a date with Marla Madison, Jameson enters his office... and finds the Hitman comfortably sprawled on his chair. Marla is a smartass and opens the intercom while the Hitman and Jameson hit it off to let the Bugle know of the kidnapper's plans.
She kind of slays, but I can't imagine we'll see her for much longer.
The employees don't quite know if it's a joke. The Hitman quickly discovers the trick and blasts the machine.
Spidey and the Punisher find themselves escalading the same building to save Jameson. That's a fun idea!
By the time the police enters, it's a complete clusterfuck (so it's really entertaining).
When #175 rolls about, they're still at it! The Hitman takes off with Jameson in a makeshift helicopter. While Spidey and the Punisher follow them, Marla gets a heartwarming scene where she's comforted by Robbie and Gloria.
In his car, the Punisher tells Spidey about his life story, and particularly about that time the Hitman, pre-costume era, saved him in Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Harry and Barton Hamilton, the shrink, are having an enlightening conversation. By which, I mean, Hamilton purposefully riles up Harry, and the latter attacks him.
Well well. Seems like the therapy hasn't worked that well now, did it?
:(
I hope he's not dead.
The final act takes place on the Statue of Liberty. The Punisher and Spidey save Jameson from the PLF, who planted bombs all over the big statue. This gives Ross Andru and his mates a chance to depict a grandiose and quite impressive SoL.
The clusterfuck is back! What are you going to do, Frank Castle? Who are you?
Damn.
That was a good batch. Not excellent, but solid.
Poor Harry, though. I'm sad he's the Goblin again, and so soon...! I love the Green Goblin, he's my favorite villain by far, by far! But oof. Just... oof.
On *that* website, everyone is convinced that the therapist is dead, but is he really? I'm not so sure. I kind of hope he's not. The events certainly surprised me!
Look... I might... start the Green Goblin batch now... we'll see if there's no issue with SSM... I'm too invested :(

AIR JORDAN 8
The Chicago Bulls were just the third team history to claim three straight titles, and MJ was the first player ever to capture Finals MVP in 3 consecutive seasons. Strapped into his AJ VIIIs, he claimed his third straight championship and solidified a reputation for being unstoppable.
The 1993 release of the Air Jordan VIII culminated the end of the first epoch of Michael Jordan’s career and sneaker line. Featuring a bold, strapped-up design and a chenille tongue graphic, the Air Jordan VIII would prove to be a distinctly ’90s sneaker, now synonymous with the era in which it was born.

June 19th-June 25th, 2019 Reader Favorites Archive
The archive for the Reader Favorites chat that occurred from June 19th, 2019 to June 25th, 2019. The chat focused on the following question:
From any webcomic, what scene will you never, ever forget?
Jo Michelle
I mean, I gotta say The Pascal Incident in http://www.galebound.com/. That was ... unexpected. And painful. But, man, http://thedreamercomic.com/ and Nathan Hale's death scene will always have a special place in my heart as well. (edited)
MJ Massey
Probably this whole sequence in Gunnerkrigg Court, but particularly this page: https://www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=1044
khkddn
ooh i like that sequence from gunnerkrigg too! but the most unforgettable scene to me is when annie says goodbye to mort. never has a comic made me feel so much for a lil ghost dude
€heshire777
yeah
Jo Michelle
I apparently am years and years behind on Gunnerkrigg.... @_@
MJ Massey
Oh man Mortttttt he was the bestttttttt

The biggest Big Reveals in Drop Out http://drop-out.thecomicseries.com/comics/1 and Skin Horse http://skin-horse.com/...which I don't want to describe because spoilers, but trust me, they're super good

Also, the part-romance-part-confrontation in Serenity Rose, starting around here: https://www.aaronalexovich.com/comic/break-your-stupid-heart-page-068/
Attila Polyák
The very beginning of Tower of God, when Bam passes his first test. Particularly when Black March shows up: https://www.webtoons.com/en/fantasy/tower-of-god/season-1-ep-4/viewer?title_no=95&episode_no=5
RebelVampire
This scene in Radio Silence http://www.radiosilencecomic.com/comic/185 where Shy realizes that his friend may not be his friend after all. That facial expression hits me right in the heart everytime. From Zenchav, the scene where Damon is born and Rex shows up and just starts burning people alive like the fancy villain he is. And also the levity of the doctor taking the hint to gtfo http://khyatix.com/Zenchav/Volume1/ZenchavVolume1#p=18 From Psychteria, the scene where Zage and Sen fight and Zage basically goes psycho murderer for a moment because of wanting to protect. http://psychteria.fenauriverse.moe/comic/281 From Galebound, the scene where Pascal shows up and then the subsequent scene where Pascal lets them get away. That face and outfit made me fall in love. http://www.galebound.com/comics/2369956/040/ From Alethia, the scene on the tram where there is basically nothing but emotional turmoil after perhaps my favoriter chapter of the series: http://alethia.kstipetic.com/chapter6.html From Super Galaxy Knights Deluxe R, this fight scene where the answer turns out to be love wins everything http://sgkdr.thecomicseries.com/comics/263 and that's where i stop before i make 20 walls
ShaRose49
Maybe the big reveal/confession scene that happened recently in Good Day to Be a Dog. So beautiful visually and felt so satisfying after such a long buildup. https://m.webtoons.com/en/drama/a-good-day-tobe-a-dog/list?title_no=1390&page=1&webtoon-platform-redirect=true
NeilKapit
October 20 by Marius Hjelseth has a lot of these (october20comic.com) , as expected for a book about a cast of ragged characters hunted by an ancient annual curse, but the scene where a specific character shoots his lover to save his own ass especially hits home

Best Celebrity Halloween Costumes Of All Time

Best Celebrity Halloween Costumes Of All Time
Chaitra Krishnan Hyderabd040-395603080 October 7, 2019
With Halloween around the corner, have you figured out what you’re going to wear? The spookiest time of the year paves way for a lot of costume parties and events. But wearing fake fangs or painting blood drips on the face is too mainstream. If you want inspiration for Halloween costumes, you can totally rely on some of your favorite celebrities (just the way you follow them for the latest fashion updates). While some celebrities wear cat costumes or the boring/ offensive ones, we’re thankful to those who take Halloween pretty seriously. These are the people who put a lot of thought and effort into their Halloween costumes and look super cool in them (of course).
So, as a gift from us to you, we bring you some of our favorite celebrity Halloween costumes that are definitely going to blow your mind. Now let’s dive into the spooky treat!
1. Monica Brown- Mad Hatter From Alice In Wonderland
nuramagazine / Instagram
Monica Brown, the star of T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle who is also an extremely talented singer stole the show during 2018 Halloween. She paid homage to Johnny Depp by dressing up like Mad Hatter, the character he plays in the movie Alice In Wonderland. Like you can see, the details of her costume and makeup are top-notch and nobody would have ever recognized that it’s her.
2. Diddy- Pennywise From It
nuramagazine / Instagram
Rapper/singer Sean John Combs aka Diddy gave us #costumegoals with his extremely terrifying Pennywise look. Pennywise, a character from Stephen King’s classic novel “It” is a very popular name today. And after watching the movies, we’re sure that you can’t make out the difference between the real Pennywise and Diddy in his brilliant costume.
3. Heidi Klum- Fiona From Shrek
nuramagazine / Instagram
Heidi Klum is popularly known as the “Queen of Halloween” and we’re not surprised at all. She dresses up so well every year that she rightfully owns the title. The German model and television personality dawned the look of Fiona from Shrek for last year’s Halloween. She has dressed up as Cleopatra, the Forbidden fruit, the human body, a crow, an old lady, Jessica Rabbit, and even as a butterfly for her past Halloween appearances. So, let’s just conclude that she is indeed the Queen of Halloween and there are no ifs or buts to that.
4. Heidi Klum- MJ From Thriller
trueexclusives / Instagram
We know we’re talking Heidi again, but we couldn’t resist. Heidi brought back to life Michael Jackson’s scary avatar from his 1982 music video Thriller. If you want to walk out on the street and get a few screams, this look will definitely work well.
5. Usher- The Night King From Game Of Thrones
If you’re an Usher fan and you also love Game of Thrones, you’ll be thrilled with this one. Guess what? The American singer dressed up as the Night King from GoT for Halloween in 2017. He posted two amazing pictures of him posing as the evil and cold Night King on his Twitter account, wishing his followers a happy Halloween.
6. Cardi B- Bruella De Vil From 101 Dalmatians
trueexclusives / Instagram
Last year, the stunning Cardi B donned the look of Cruella De Vil from 101 Dalmatians, one of the evilest Disney villains ever. Also, she got an adorable Dalmatian dog along with her, to the Halloween event that she attended that night.
7. Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner- Gomez And Morticia From The Addams Family
sophiet / Instagram
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, the newlywed celebrity couple in town looked too good to be true as Gomez Addams and Morticia Addams from The Addams Family. Dressed in black classy outfits, we’re confused if they look scary or hot.
8. Joey King- Voldemort From Harry Potter
popcinelady / Instagram
The Emmy nominated actress Joey King set an incredibly spooky example for how Harry Potter fans should dress up for Halloween. Instead of going with a simple look by rapping a house scarf around your neck and wearing long robes you can try this amazing Voldemort outfit!
9. Joe Jonas- Sansa Stark From Game Of Thrones
popcinelady / Instagram
Joe Jonas makes it to our list again with his Sansa Stark costume. Sansa Stark, the young and charming lady from Game of Thrones is originally played by his wife Sophie Turner. However, Joe doesn’t look charming in the exact same way though *giggles.*
10. Rebel Wilson- Wilson, The Volleyball From Castaway
shokrala / Instagram
Who doesn’t love the adorable Rebel Wilson here? She dressed up as the iconic volleyball from the movie Castaway to The Ellen DeGeneres Show! Yes, you heard it right — she dressed up as volleyball! Now, if you’ve seen the epic movie to which this ball belongs to, you’d want to dress up like it too.
11. Ellen- Sia
sia_australia / Instagram
Ellen DeGeneres, one of the best and most hilarious television hosts of all time came into her show as Sia, the iconic singer. And it’s not just the costume; Ellen gave us all a taste of Sia’s performance and moves, with a twist as usual.
Let us know which one of the above celebrities did it the best in the comments section below. Also, remember that no matter who or in this case what you dress as, make sure you are comfortable. Otherwise, you won’t be able to have fun or enjoy the event. We hope you nail the show with these ideas. Happy Halloween peeps!

Anger surged through Mary Jane when Peter so much as thought about leaving. She stood up and glared at him, every part of her wanting to lash out at him for everything. Mary Jane knew that it wasn't Peter's doing. All the things he had said, she knew he didn't mean it, but she couldn't just unhear it in an instant all because he said he was fine now. "Are you serious?" she asked, narrowing her eyes at him. "You disappeared without a word for a week to fight aliens in another planet, them you bring some shit home and disappear for days and now you're saying you want to leave again?" she asked. "Is that all you know? Running away from your problems thinking time will make everything go away and you can come back to happy home? Leave me to deal with all the emotional damage this thing caused?" Mary Jane scoffed and shook her head, feeling disappointment wash over her. "Everything just happened, Peter. I'm sorry I'm not jumping into your arms forgiving you. I haven't exactly had the time to process what you had said, what had happened because I was too busy trying to track you down and keep you from murdering someone," she yelled. "Yeah, that's what you were like in case you were still unconscious back there. You were not pulling your punches, not to mention you attacked Reed. Reed, who you asked for help. Reed who was worried for you and was trying to get that thing off you." MJ knew a part of her anger was misplaced, but Peter talking about leaving her alone set her off. "Walk out now and I promise you, you're not coming back. Yeah you weren't yourself. Yeah whatever it was, was took over your mental state, but you will sit here and deal with the fallout."
At this point, Peter had no idea what to even do. It was clear that nothing was going to convince her that all the things he did and said were completely out of control. And it wasn’t as if he could comfort her given the fact that his mere presence made his wife recoil or flinch. What was he supposed to do there? Force himself on her and make things worse? Peter just didn’t know what to do here. Not only did he have to deal with having been taken over by an alien symbiote and dealing with the repercussion of all of that, he also had to deal with the fact that his own wife couldn’t be around him. It was in moments like this that reminded him why he felt alone in the repercussion of being Spider-Man. Peter took some steps away from Mary Jane. It hurt hearing her say all of this, knowing there was nothing to be done on his end. It wasn’t like he had the ability to turn back time and keep himself from wearing the symbiote. He couldn’t erase her memories or undo what had been done. It was especially hard dealing with this when he only just regained his own consciousness. Not even a mere few hours ago, he was still being controlled by that thing. Peter hadn’t even been given a chance to deal with anything. Clenching his jaw, he let out a deep breath and gave MJ a small defeated shrug. “I may not know that, but I do know what it feels like to have your wife be scared of you for things beyond your control.” Twisting his lips to the side as he bit the inside of his cheek, Peter shook his head. “I should leave you alone then. Or I don’t know. I don’t really know what you want from me right now, Mary Jane. But it feels like leaving you alone is the only option I’ve got.”

It killed Mary Jane that this was the state of their relationship right now. The two of them had an unbreakable bond, or so she thought. He tried to argue that it wasn't him and that whatever was on him was influencing him, and she knew that to be the case. Deep in her heart, she knew that Peter would ever say those things to her, but Mary Jane believed Peter would love her so deeply that those words would never be used against her, despite what ever influence. He developed a Mary Jane senses for her, surely he loved her too much to not even so much as think those things. He hit every insecurity she had when it came to being a part of his life. MJ's body slumped into the couch, feeling defeated. No matter the explanation Peter provided, Mary Jane still couldn't shake off what he had said to her that night. It was a lot. "I do know that," she started, looking at him pleadingly, though she didn't know what she was pleading him for. Maybe she was begging him to erase the last couple of weeks from her mind. To kiss her and tell her that it had all been a dream. "It doesn't change the fact that you said it, Pete. It came out of your mouth. It was like you knew exactly how to hurt me and you took it," Mary Jane tried to explain. "I know, okay? I know. My heart knows it wasn't you saying it, but I can't unhear it. I can't erase it from my mind. It replays over and over whenever I have a quiet moment to myself." There was a pause before MJ sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "Do you know how it feels to be scared of your own husband?"
Peter was sure that he had never felt such anxiety than he felt right now. The tension was so thick and awkward between the two of them. This was never something that had happened with them. He felt awful and she hadn’t even spoke up yet. But it was just in the way she looked at him. Whenever she could look at him, that was. Peter wasn’t even sure what was worse because of it - her inability to look at him or the way she looked at him when she did. His chest hurt just thinking about it. When did it all get so bad? “MJ…” He said quietly when all he was receiving was silence. Then she finally spoke and Peter completely froze. It hurt listening to her talk about how he had broken her heart, especially because he hadn’t been in control of himself. He stood by, unable to process all of this. “You have to understand that it wasn’t me, Mary Jane. I would never say that to you. You know that. Those things I said… I remember. I just… I couldn’t control it. I wasn’t myself. You don’t understand how this thing was able to control me. It just kept getting worse. But none of that was me. I promise. You have to know that,” his voice was becoming a little more desperate towards the end because he couldn’t handle the idea of MJ not knowing him well enough to ever think he could say things like that. This was Mary Jane. She was supposed to know him better than anyone. She should have known right away that those things he said and did were not him. “You of all people have to know that.” He tried to take a few steps towards her in his desperation to get her to understand.

Feeling her heart leap to her throat when Peter called her name, Mary Jane sat straighter and looked down at Peter with wide eyes. It wasn't even Peter waking up that caused her heart to jump. It was the way he said her name. He said her name with a familiar fondness she hadn't heard since that night. Maybe he was back. "Peter," she whispered. Despite her hope that Peter was back and no longer under the influence of the symbiote, MJ flinched when he moved to caress her cheek. "I-I'm fine," the redhead reassured him. Hearing the commotion outside the church, MJ looked down at Peter about to ask him if he was okay to move when he was the first to bring up needing to go. Nodding her head, she helped Peter up from the ground and placed his arm around her shoulder so he could lean on her. She held onto Peter as tight as she could, fearing that the next goon they find, Peter would try to hurt. As much as she wanted to believe that Peter was back, she was scared it was just wishful thinking and she couldn't take that chance right now. At this point she had completely forgotten about Eddie. He didn't even cross her mind. Once they reached the bottom floor of the church, Mary Jane's stomach lurched whens he saw the bodies that littered the floor and she couldn't help but wonder if some of them were dead. It didn't escape her notice that some of them were bleeding. "Let's go," she murmured, holding Peter's waist tighter and leading him outside the church. The two of them continued walking, trying to get away from the crime scene as much as possible before they called an Uber. Once they were quite far from the church, MJ stopped at a corner and pulled out her phone. "The Uber's coming in a bit," she stated before glancing at Peter. "How are you... feeling?"
Peter had no idea how long he’d been out for but the total darkness he had succumbed to became more of blurry colorful mess when his eyes began to flutter open. It took him a moment or two until his eyes adjusted to everything. Even the muffled sounds began to become clearer. While still a little disoriented as he woke up, he finally understood what was going on with Mary Jane talking to him. He looked up at the redhead, grateful that she was the first thing he was seeing. “MJ?” he said, hoarse after finding his throat a bit dry. When his vision became as clear as it could get, he reached over and placed his fingers against her cheek when he noticed some scruff marks and a small scratch. “Are you okay?” he asked her, always concerned over her first before anything else. Glancing around, he then looked down at himself, realizing he was laying against her lap and he was in his civilian clothes. The suit wasn’t on him anymore and as far as he could tell, it wasn’t bound to him at all. He couldn’t feel it and oddly, he couldn’t hear it. There was no longer a faint voice in the back of his head. It was gone. “MJ, I—” Peter didn’t get the chance to get anything else out when he heard commotion heading towards them. Not that he’d be able to eve without all the commotion. There was a lot to say now that things were coming back to him, but this wasn’t the right time nor were either of them in the right headspace to have that conversation. “We have to go,” he said, weakly attempting to get up. It was only with the help of Mary Jane that he was able to get back on his feet. “We need to get down and go out the back,” he told her, pointing to the exit while simultaneously ignoring the mess he had made. There was a lot that Peter was eventually going to have to face, but first he needed to get them both out of there. Well, MJ was probably going to do all the heavy lifting as he regained his strength. Holding onto her, he followed as they went down from the bell and towards the back. A faint, yet familiar tickling occurred at the back of his neck, causing him to glance behind them, but there was nothing there that Peter could see other than the mess of unconscious bodies laying around. He held a firmer grasp on MJ just in case.

Mary Jane wasn't sure what was going to happen when she wrung the church bells. At this point, she was hoping for the best given that Reed's device was broken. This was her only hope so she prayed to whatever higher being that it would work, and it did. The black goo was separating from Peter. She was so caught up in Peter that she didn't even realize that Eddie Brock was around. To be honest, he was the last thing on her mind, if he even was. MJ's heart sank as watched Peter in pain. This wasn't want she wanted for him but it was the only way she could get him back and to prevent him killing someone, because at this point it was only a matter of time. With wide eyes, she watched as he fell to the ground, the black goo crawling on the floor. Grabbing the mop that was on the floor, Mary Jane ran towards it and used the mop to throw it aside. Unbeknownst to MJ, she had thrown it at the direction of Eddie Brock. When it had taken him over, he had fallen off the church window, MJ unable to hear due to the church bells and due to her concern over Peter. "P-Peter," she called for him as he remained unconscious it seemed. Turning him over, she made sure that he was resting on her lap. Brushing his hair to the side, MJ frowned at the pained look on his unconscious Peter. "Peter, please wake up," she whispered gently. "We need to get out of here. The police are going to come soon and we need to leave." Mary Jane was scared and worried for Peter. She was also nervous about what Peter was going to do when he woke. Was he still going to hold the same anger he had towards her? Was it now just a permanent thing?
Peter couldn’t stop. There was nothing in Peter’s head except “punch punch punch”. Every fiber of Peter was already on complete fury edge, but to see these goons think they can lay a single finger on Mary Jane infuriated him in a way that not even he knew was possible. His vision was completely red, and he wasn’t sure if he was even capable of stopping at this point. There was this strong urge to not only beat the bloody hell of this guy, but to keep punching until there was nothing left. It always been known that Peter needed to pull his punch because he was very well capable of killing a man with a singular hit, but the power and strength that was being provided to him through this suit didn’t compare to that. Not even close. So Peter kept swinging, aware of how capable he was of killing this man. Which was a line he had vowed never to cross. As he kept going, both he and Mary Jane were unaware of the sound of the camera going off repeatedly as Eddie Brock took all kinds of pictures of the scene unfolding up above. The rival photographer was laughing to himself, smiling knowing that he finally found his big break. For the longest time, Eddie Brock felt like he was living under Peter’s shadow. All his Spider-Man photographs would always get compared to Peter Parker’s. Any time he finally thought he captured a perfect image of Spider-Man to be used on the first page, Parker came out of nowhere and delivered an even better photograph. Now was his chance to get the Spider-Man photograph. Jonah was going to love seeing this. Photographic proof that Spider-Man was the exact menace that he knew all along. He was bleeding this guy to a bloody pulp in his brand new black suit. A symbol of Spider-Man’s dark era? Eddie could see the headlines now. He kept taking photos, prepared to let his memory card get full all, but he jumped at the sudden sound of the bell going off. Peter was also have a reaction to the bell going off, only his was far more intense than Eddie Brock’s. With how loud the bell with and the fact that it was right beside him, the sound was excruciatingly painful. A pain he never thought he could experience in his life. Peter let out a loud yell, backing off of the guy he’d been beating up as he stumbled backwards. He eventually fell to his knees, unable to hold himself up any longer as the suit began to painfully tear itself away from its body, fighting hard to stay on Peter. But it seemed like the sound of the bell was even worse than earlier. The pain was too much. Peter felt like he was on the verge of passing out. Every tear away from the suit felt like something stabbing into him. Before he knew it, his vision went black as he felt face first into the ground. The suit, meanwhile, desperate to get away from the noise, jumped down to where a certain rival photographer was none the wiser.

Mary Jane was doing her best to stay upright. Between her hearing being muffled to the blow in her head, Mary Jane was wobbling and the guy could see it. He was smirking to himself as if she was going to be easy prey. No, Mary Jane was anything but easy. Peter taught her how to fight, she knew how to handle herself. Just as she was about to steal herself and charge at the man before he could pull his gun on her, a flash of black flew past her, causing her to stop in her tracks. Peter. Then she noticed something odd about Peter. The suit was moving in a weird way. Almost as if it was being separated from it but at the same time clinging onto him for dear life. It reminded her of when Reed started testing on the sample of Peter's suit. MJ was soon pulled from her thoughts when she saw blood splatter across the wall. She noticed that the man was passed out at this point and was a ragdoll as Peter held him by the shirt. "S-Stop," she said, trying to find her voice. Mary Jane was terrified that Peter was going to kill the guy. She was aware that Peter was protective of her and he could get pretty angry when she was hurt, now with the suit, she feared he was going to kill the man. Looking around for something to get Peter to stop, she noticed the bell and decided this was as good as it was going to get. Running over to the string that would cause the bell to start swinging, Mary Jane grabbed it and tugged it with all her strength. Mary Jane hoped it was enough to cause some sort of reaction. It wasn't a guarantee the way Reed's device would be, but considering Reed's device was now broken, this was her only choice. "Peter, please stop," she begged. When the bells started to ring, Peter immediately dropped the guy and his suit started to react. "I know you're still in there. Please come home," she begged her husband, slowly starting to walk towards him. She didn't care if he lashed out at her. MJ needed to get Peter back before it was too late.
One by one, Peter was taking down al these gang members, leaving a bloody trail along the way. He was trying to locate Mary Jane, but every time he’d take a step away, another goon came to his direction. There was no way he’d be able to try to find her until he took care of all these men. Which irritated the hell out of him, so of course he used that irritation and took it out on each one of them. He was punching some guy’s lights in when a strong pulse of his spider senses went off. It was so strong, it caught him off guard enough to just drop the guy he had in his hands. Peter groaned, trying to zone in on what was causing his senses to go off like this. That was when his eyes glanced up. It was Mary Jane. What was she doing up there now? But she wasn’t alone. One of the thugs had found his way to her there as well. Peter’s jaw clenched and he was about to swing himself up there when, out of nowhere, the loud ring of the bell went off. Peter clenched his hands together into tight fists, the noise causing him to drop to his knees. Crying out in pain, he could feel the way that the suit was reacting to the sound of the bell. This was even worse than what happened when he and MJ had been outside. This was much worse. The suit was fighting to stay on Peter, the sensation odd and painful. But through all of this, all Peter could focus on was MJ. She was up there with one of those thugs with a gun. He needed to snap out of this. He needed to go help her. He yelled and groaned and tried his best to fight past this. Putting all his strength into standing up, he pulled himself together enough to get off the floor. Looking up, he released a deep breath before zipping himself up there with his webbing. This close to the sound didn’t help matters, but he was doing his best to ignore that. The suit itself was also doing its best to stay on him. At least the sound had died down some. Mustering up the strength that he had despite the noise, he punched the guy. Peter continued to punch him, not letting up. He had a gun and he came close to hurting MJ. No one hurts MJ.

Mary Jane knew that now was not the time to argue with Peter, especially when he was the way that he was now. A part of her was scared she would get caught in the cross fire and considering the brutal way Peter had been dealing with these criminals, she knew it would be bad. Stepping back as they all charged towards them, Mary Jane watched while Peter took care of them. Noticing that Peter was trying to make sure that no one got to her brought her hope that her Peter was still in there. Mary Jane had been too busy starting at Peter that she didn't realize that one of the criminals Peter had knocked unconscious came to and was charging at her from behind. It wasn't until she heard Eddie Brock yell at her to look out that she turned around and noticed. Peter was too busy dealing with everyone else and with the commotion going on near the entrance of the church, she wasn't surprised he didn't hear Eddie. Looking around for a way to get away from the guy, MJ jumped when he pulled out his gun and aimed it at her. "Fuck," she muttered to herself, spotting another door and ran towards it. Realizing that the only way for her to go now was up, MJ scolded herself for her stupid and rash decision. She could hear the footsteps following after her, Mary Jane's heart racing and her breathing becoming more shallow. Continuing up the stairs, she could hear the man taunt her, asking her where she was going, but MJ paid him no mind as she search for anything she could use to hit him with. The man was hot on her heels, laughing and taunting her. Her stomach dropped when she realized that she was at a dead end. There was nowhere for her to leave except either jumping down or back where she came from. "I got you now sweetheart," the man said with a grin on his face as he nursed his head. Narrowing her eyes at the man, she prepared as he lunged at her. The only thing she could think of was to at least get the gun away from him. Grabbing his wrist, she lifted it up so that the gun was facing away from her. Trying to trip it from him, the two of them fell to the ground which caused the man to pull the trigger right beside her ear, disorienting her. The bang was followed by the church bells ringing. The bullet must have hit the bell. Using that as a distraction, MJ bit his hand, causing him to let go of the gun and falling down to the first floor. "You bitch!" he screamed, backhanding Mary Jane. Groaning at the pain, she slammed her head into his before then throwing all her weight into him so that he would fall on his back. Mary Jane got up, stumbling as she tried to orient herself due to not only slamming her head into someone but also when gun went off beside her ear.
Peter furrowed his eyebrows when Mary Jane answered him. Confused at first, until it clicked that she was remaining vague to keep his identity hidden. Not that any of these gang members would remember a single thing, if they woke up at all. Peter did leave them a bloody mess after the beating he had given him. But he was already not pulling out his punches. When he saw what they were about to do to Mary Jane, he went feral. Nothing could stop him. Before he had the chance to ask the redhead any more questions or try to get her out of there, more of the gang members had quickly arrived. He must have missed one and they must have called for more back up. This was one of the bigger gangs in New York lately. That was why he’d set his sights on them - because of how many there were. It was like an unlimited supplies of dummies he could let his aggression out on. MJ moved behind him and Peter kept an arm out to keep her separated from what was going to happen. “Leave,” he demanded of her, slightly turning his head towards behind him before he focused on the men coming towards them. Ensuring that none of them tried to move past him to get to MJ, he began to take them out one by one. He’d either punch them straight out and capture them with his webbing and tossing them harshly to the nearest wall. Some, the ones he didn’t even bother with, he’d just stick to whatever was nearby so they didn’t even try to get to him. But the ones he’d catch trying to sneak past him towards Mary Jane were the ones on most trouble. There was one who attempted to get around him, but Peter caught him. He threw his wrist out and reeled him in with his webbing, landing the hardest punches. A few in the face and some in the gut. The guy’s face was covered with blood after Peter was done with him, the superhero discarding him towards the ground like a lifeless body before he looked around. But when he did, there was no sign of Mary Jane. “MJ?” He called out, distracted only when some of the thugs came at him and swung a few punches.

At this point, Mary Jane could do nothing but wait for the pain to come before she succumbed to nothingness. Her body was shaking and all she could think about was Peter and how he was going to be stuck with that thing. Not only that, but if she didn't stop him now, someone else was going to step in or maybe more. He could get hurt or he could die, or worse, he could end up killing someone. Mary Jane didn't know what she was supposed to do. The pain never came and soon she was hearing commotion, causing Mary Jane to look up just in time for the man in front of her to be pulled away from her and thrown across the room. Her eyes widened when she saw a flash of black flying across the church, bodies not soon after following the flash of black. "P-Peter," she whispered to herself. Watching in shock the brutal way Peter took care of the thugs, Mary Jane couldn't believe just how brutal Peter was being. This was unlike him. He wasn't pulling his punches this time causing his suit to stain red. "Stop," she begged him, scared that it would get worse and Peter would kill someone. Her begging fell on deaf ears and soon Peter was in front of her, holding a man down and asking her what she was doing at the church. "I'm trying to stop you for the sake of my husband," she said, trying to keep it vague as possible as she knew that Eddie was somewhere around. She had lied to the guy and told him that Spider-Man had something on Peter and she needed to get to Spider-Man. It would not be a good idea if Eddie found out that Peter was Spider-Man. Pulling out the device that Reed gave her, Mary Jane frowned when she noticed that it broke. She must have broken it when the man had grabbed her roughly and threw her to the ground. "Fuck," she muttered to herself. Mary Jane didn't get to think much longer as men started to enter the dilapidated church, most likely as backup. Mary Jane moved so that she was behind Peter, scared mostly to see the brutality Peter would induce on those men.
The closer he got to the church, the more his senses were going off. But it wasn’t his usual senses and he had no idea what it was. He tried not to focus on it for now, not wanting to be caught off guard by anything. Sneaking inside, he immediately found the group of gang members that he was looking for. That wasn’t what his eyes went straight towards to, however. Because among them, he spotted Mary Jane of all people. Mary Jane being held at gunpoint. What in the world was she even doing here? Peter felt his blood boiling and after that, everything else was basically a blur. He web zipped his way over to the thugs that had her in a heartbeat. Throwing all his strength into the punch, he smashed the gang member right in the face, knocking him straight out. Mary Jane had fallen to the ground at some point after the punch, but Peter was focused on making sure none of the other ones got away. They thought they were in trouble with him before. Grabbing Mary Jane like that unleashed something else inside him. Using his webbing, he pulled another one of them towards him. He repeatedly punched him in the face, causing him to turn black and blue. Blood covered his suited up knuckles before he tossed him aside. And that’s what Peter kept doing. He went around to each one, punching them to a bloody pulp, completely unaware that Mary Jane wasn’t the only one in that church. If he wasn’t so blinded by rage, he would have heard the sounds of flashes and a camera going off with every new gang member he beat up. The last one of the thugs tried to rush to Mary Jane, possibly for some hostage situation to secure his life, but Peter was a lot faster than him. He managed to web up the guy before he could even think about touching Mary Jane. Peter grabbed him by the collar before slamming him down on the ground and looking at MJ. “What could you possibly be doing here of all places? At a time like this?” He finally asked her, holding the thug down on the ground who had probably hit his head harshly because he was saying nothing but mumbles.

Rolling her eyes at Eddie, Mary Jane continued to look on. Mary Jane needed Peter to appear. She needed to get to him before he seriously hurt someone enough to catch the attention of the Avengers. It was imperative that she got to him now given how many have already approached her expressing their concern about Peter, or at least, the people that knew who Peter was. Jessica, Matt and the rest of the Defenders have asked her about Peter, saying that she needed to get him in check or they were going to have to step in considering the damage he had already done. It was why she went to Eddie Brock. After having no contact with Peter since that day, Eddie Brock was the only one who would know Spider-Man's whereabouts better than her. "I need to get closer," she whispered, about to walk closer to where the action was when she bumped into someone. A gasp escaped her lips as she looked at the big burly thug with wide eyes. She was fucked. Before she could get away the man was grabbing her by the hair and dragging her to where the other thugs were. Narrowing her eyes when she saw that Eddie had hid somewhere else, she whispered what a coward he was. "We got someone," the guy announced. MJ was spewing profanities as he continued to drag her to where everyone was, roughly shoving her in the middle. Mary Jane was looking around with narrowed eyes, her heart racing. She was scared, of course she was. What was worse was that she didn't know if Peter would come save her this time. If this was any other time, she knew Peter would be bursting through the door, but this wasn't the Peter she knew. One of the guys slapped her, causing her to look down at the ground. The redhead stared hard at the ground, refusing to give these men the satisfaction of knowing how scared she was. "What are you doing here?" one of them asked. "I just accidentally stumbled in," she tried to say, but one of them grabbed the back of her head and pushed her further into the ground. Mary Jane was practically shaking as she felt someone cock their gun and point it at her head. Was this it?" No, it couldn't be it. She needed to save Peter. She needed to make sure that Peter was back before something worse happened to him.
The days had blurred together since that night with Mary Jane. It seemed like the better option for him to stay away, so he had. That wasn’t to say he hadn’t seen her at all since, though. He’d swing nearby and catch glimpses of her. The same way he had back when they weren’t together after Gwen’s death. But he stayed away. Nights had become longer, Peter finding going to sleep very difficult. That wasn’t to say he wasn’t feeling worn out, because he did. But sleep was a different thing. He wondered if it was the suit that kept him up - kept him going. There was one time he tried removing it just to see, but the suit wouldn’t let him. With nothing major going on, he distracted himself with any petty criminal he could get his hands on, driving a harsher punishment to them than what was warranted. It was a surprised those guys managed to live, but it helped. It served as a distraction. After that night with MJ, Peter’s head wouldn’t stop spinning. He needed to punch things and he needed to punch them hard. This anger inside if him had grown stronger and he needed a way to keep his mind off the redhead because any moment where he wasn’t moving, he immediately thought about that final moment with her. Her words echoed in his head and the look on her face was hard to wipe away. It drove him mad thinking about it. So he focused on the criminals, on taking them down. That’s how he ended up at the church. He tracked down this notorious gang that he’d been terrorizing all week. It led him here. Something felt off, however. His spider senses were going off faintly. Pausing before reaching the entrance, he shook it off and walked inside.
