I got my hands on Comics Worlds & the World of Comics - Global Manga Studies, vol.1, and consequently read parts of it. Below are comments on the chapters I read, in rough order of how good/interesting/enjoyable I found them:
Dōjinshi research as a site of opportunity for Manga Studies, by Nele Noppe, is surely my favorite out of the bunch. A primer on manga fan works (dōjinshi), copyright, and the act of creation, along a plea to make art easier to partake in and research. Normally I would not say so, but READ THIS!
Theorizing comics/manga genre as a productive forum: yaoi and beyond, by Akiko Mizoguchi, is recommended for being an enjoyable read. I am personally not inclined towards most BL, but it is always fun to read about. Plus this chapter includes terms such as "virtual lesbians" and "minority sexuality of yaoi" (which does not refer to male homosexuality). I imagine it's a very Tumblr chapter.
When a "male" reads shōjo manga, by Kimio Itō, is bite-sized - only 7 pages! Somehow this account of an older man feels novel. Probably because this Itō is from sociology, and not from manga studies nor any other kind of humanities.
BD in young girl-oriented magazines in France, by Noriko Inomata, is surprisingly about French comics and not manga (though a comparison is drawn). It is kind of text on a niche, under-researched topic which (imho) is healthy to read a lot of. You get a rounded view of things.
Manga truisms: On the insularity of Japanese manga discourse, by Hiroshi Odagiri, was not too easy to get through. It is likely the most meta of these chapters, but if you are interested in the discourse or academia surrounding manga as such (I am) here's a recommendation.
Barefoot Gen and "A-bomb literature - Re-collecting the nuclear experience, by Takayuki Kawaguchi, and How emotions work: The politics of vision in Nakazawa Keiji's Barefoot Gen, by Kenji Kajiya, both highlight the quality of Keiji Nakazawa's Barefoot Gen. This makes them somewhat superfluous, since that work speaks for itself. The other works spoken of in contrast make them more interesting reads, though.
And that's about it. There are other chapter of course but I haven't read them (and probably won't unless I encounter them some other time) so commenting on them would be difficult and silly.

Tatsuya Nakadai and So Yamamura in The Human Condition I: No Greater Love (Masaki Kobayashi. 1959)
Cast: Tatsuya Nakadai, Michiyo Aratama, Chikage Awashima, Ineko Arima, Keiji Sada, So Yamamura, Akira Ishihama. Screenplay: Zenzo Matsuyama, Masaki Kobayashi, based on a novel by Junpei Gomikawa. Cinematography: Yoshio Miyajima. Art direction: Kazue Hirataka. Film editing: Keiichi Uraoka. Music: Chuji Kinoshita.
The first three and a half hours of Masaki Kobayashi's nine-hour, 47-minute epic The Human Condition are themselves divided into two parts, though the break seems more a courtesy to the Sitzfleisch of the viewer than to any inherent division in the story. I have a friend who says he's never read a bad novel over 600 pages long, because once he's done with it he has to justify the time spent reading. I think something like that may apply to The Human Condition once I've finished it. Which is not to say that there isn't a greatness that adheres to Kobayashi's unsparing, audacious film, even though at times I found myself feeling that The Human Condition I: No Greater Love derived as much from the more earnest black-and-white Hollywood films of the 1940s, the ones that starred Tyrone Power or Gregory Peck, than from the high artistry of Ozu or Mizoguchi. It is often unabashed melodrama: We worry that Kobayashi hasn't burdened his protagonist, Kaji, with more than is really credible. An idealist, he not only finds himself supervising slave Chinese labor in Manchuria during World War II, he also has to manage a brothel staffed with Chinese "comfort women." And the more he does to better the lot of the workers, the more he elicits the ire of the kenpeitai, the Japanese military police. On the other hand, if he compromises with the authorities, the Chinese prisoners and prostitutes make his life miserable. And not to mention that, his wife is incapable of comprehending the stresses that make him so distant at home. But Tatsuya Nakadai is such an accomplished actor that he gives Kaji credibility, even when we're beginning to think he's too virtuous, too idealistic, for his own good.

Oh I just Jishoed “The Coming Storm” because it said: “Coming / Forthcoming” and “Storm” so I was like “welp Forthcoming looks weird so Coming it is.”
So it’s “The Storm Comes and Goes”? That’s vague as usual. I thought this was supposed to be the peaceful ending! What’s next after the Mothership of Motherships that they still have to fight??
I thought Kazuki’s blessing was living forever and guiding people? Like he’s basically Mjolnir 2.0 rn.
Well 7-9 was in November, also during C-19. You said it’s getting worse in Japan? At this point I’ll pay money to see it online... Really don’t want it to end up like Tenet (it was only in theaters FOREVER until a few months ago).
Googled it and it’s either “The Heroes Two” or “The Hero and Two People” as you said... gah.
Still waiting to see Fumihiko’s reaction to Chizuru’s death. Seriously if Mizoguchi dies my boi Kenji or Maya’s gonna have to step up to lead the island because Makabe Sr.’s gonna be out.
We still have so much to resolve...
Hello again! To answer this ask, I’m gonna use TBY summaries that used to be on 4chan (RIP)
From what I’ve understood, the Benon Mothership attacks the main characters in ep7, then it leaves, then it comes back in ep9, and the Fafner Pilots and Hester’s army are fighting against it. If the “Storm that comes and leaves” is the Benon Mothership, then it’s going to retreat again and come back again in ep11 or 12 for the Final Battle. I honestly can’t remember if Malespero and Chaos join the battlefield in ep7-9, but in any case, we are really far away from a peaceful ending
The matter of Kazuki’s blessing is just....so vague. I don’t disagree with the fact his blessing involves “guiding” but I’ve always thought Festum must benefit from the blessing in some way (Soushi taught Festum about pain, Tsubaki taught Festum about life and death etc). For me, the right conditions haven’t been met yet. “But what about the Elements?” he’s not “guiding” them, Miwa is the one at the top of the command chain
That being said, can we really consider Kazuki “Mjolnir 2.0″? They do have things in common, but TBY spells out that Kazuki is a new kind of Festum (an Element) so I can’t see him as another Mjolnir. There’s no Mir in Kazuki’s situation, either
If Kazuki could live forever, I don’t think he’ll be too thrilled about it, because that would mean being separated from his Soushi forever.......
I love how we both thought “If Mizoguchi and Fumihiko die, Keiji or Maya will replace them”. I love Kazuki, but he’s not really....leader material (excluding the fact he’s going to die soon)

An Entirely Useless List of Top/Bottom|Dom/Sub|Omegaverse Headcanons fo Haikyuu!!
All in good fun but also I’m entirely uninterested in, nor am I amused by, comments along the lines of “but X is such a top/bottom!! XD”, please refrain?
Maybe in the future I will post about the Sliding Scale of Bottoms
“Switch” refers to Top/Bottom, “Versatile” refers to Dom/Sub
If they aren’t named here its safe to say I don’t really have an opinion.
