I’m just experiencing constant #identitycrisis and honestly neither my white nor brown friends understand and I guess only #mixedfolx will" • • • many here can definitely relate. i'm tired of this asinine conversation, we cant have it anymore. white passing to some is different to others, its just perspectives, not truth. if so i'm only a white person between november and april, how does that work? and some don't think i pass at all. some even say "you're clearly mexican or puerto rican." wrong again, i'm neither of those. #passing and #oppression go hand in hand. people wouldn't need to pass if #racism and #discrimination didn't exist. passing means you're lacking certain stereotypical traits that a specific race has and you can assimilate with another. passing wouldn't exist at all if people opened their minds and realize that black people shouldn't be limited to a few specific shades. mixed race as well. asians. natives. latinos too. you're not lacking anything. you were just born this way and have no control. your family's genes are on shuffle. not everyone who passes is mixed either, so you're just going to give these people an entire new race despite being monoracial??? we can't deny that people who present as white don't have privileges and that's the real issue. not all #whitepresenting people have these privileges and some have been subjected to the worst racism you can possibly imagine. passing and #colorism go hand in hand too. the black community aren't the only ones who need to address colorism. if all skin colors were embraced the same, would it matter? people who argue with you about your identity are having an identity crisis. they're just entitled, dont let them confuse you! #mixedgirlproblems (at Twitter) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKKOykEFRZQ/?igshid=1ik8kxpzxpetd
