Though her childhood was sheltered, she quickly learns the value of efficiency and practicality over ideals. Has Issues with authority figures. She is the daughter of murder and it shows.

Kalye Despana - BG3, N drow wizard, romanced Gale

Avryn - BG3, N elven ranger. Down-to-earth ranger who prefers animals to people, forced to be the sensible, practical one as her party works their way through their varying levels of trauma. Shared worldstate with mistralrunner's Linthelea.

Dinaeve - Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, CG human (-> Azata -> demigod) skald, romanced Daeran. “Reformed” con artist from the River Kingdoms turned deadly chaos gremlin and iconoclast. Chronic inability to express genuine emotions. She is what happens when you pick your commanders based solely on ability to kick demon ass and not, you know, willingness to follow orders or any sort of leadership experience. BIG FAN OF ELDRITCH BLAST AND COUNTERSPELL. She’s also able to cast Blade Barrier with her sunblade and that’s been KEY a couple of encounters now

I think she wishes she could cast wall of fire! It’s been a super helpful move a few times and she definitely needs more Crowd Control Options

She’s pretty used to camping and sleeping outside, I imagine the worst is probably when she forgets to go inside or close up her tent and ends up getting eaten alive by mosquitos

archery, throwing daggers, darts...anything that requires aim, she absolutely demolishes her opponents. and she’s very competitive, so she shows no mercy!

She insists that she is most certainly not tired, even as she’s yawning and obviously needs some sleep. Zevran’s usually the one who’s able to convince her to take a nap

she likes a good hot tea any time of the day! the exact type that’s available depends on where her clan is at the moment, but she prefers it with cinnamon or something else that could give it a little kick

Allys is a really active person, so doing something active usually helps take her mind off things. Being around her friends (and her pets!) also helps her take her mind off things

what they wanted to be when they grew up

From the moment she started learning archery, she always wanted to be a hunter for her clan! She also really enjoyed teaching the younger kids how to use a bow and could see herself becoming a teacher at some point as well

their favorite kind of weather

She loves days that are sunny and breezy, and prefers warm weather to cold

thoughts on their singing voice (decent? terrible? soprano? alto?)

Allys is a pretty good singer! She and some of the others in her clan would sing around the campfire at night, and later on she continues the tradition with Leliana. Her voice is a bit low and very strong

Mainly little flowers and trees- nothing too fancy, just some cute little doodles!

15. What is the best gift they could receive? Iliavena’s best gift would honestly be some rare species of mushroom she’s never seen before - maybe something from a different plane or from the Underdark - she’s be so hyped to have a new addition to her garden!

17. If they were in possession of a trio of wishes, what would their three wishes be? Oooo that’s a tough one, especially if we’re talking D&D Wishes. I think Iliavena’s first wish would be for her son to be safe, but challenged in his life - to have adventures of his own, but to life to a good long age and make a difference in whatever way he wished to. (It’s so hard to word wishes when you think of all that could go wrong with them!) Second, she would wish for Boots of Speed for our party’s barbarian, Promise (@cinderpaw1 I’m sure Promise would appreciate it xD), who already has an insane movement speed, just to get her to shut up about them (but also to torment Promise’s wife and everyone else in Chult). Third, she would wish for an item that would let her cast Plane Shift once a day (or even once a week or so - she’s not picky!) to let her travel between seeing her blood family in the Feywild and her found family in Torril more easily. 

18. What is their favorite spell or method of attack? One of Iliavena’s favorite spells is Primal Savagery (from Xanathar’s), which lets her unleash some of her inner fire in melee combat. She also appreciates Blight in order to take people down quickly, especially because of the affinity it has with the spores she’s so fond of.

15. What is the best gift they could receive? Aike would absolutely love anything sea/shell related, or a new dress/outfit as she’s pretty minimalistic only because she doesn’t really consider buying new clothes a necessity. 

17. If they were in possession of a trio of wishes, what would their three wishes be? Aike’s first wish would be for the cosmic forces in the universe to get along and stop being so contrary with one another (@eternalrisingphoenix), as she’s very anxious about which of them to listen to or not listen to at this point in our campaign (the Wildmother is wonderful, and told her to just “go with the flow”, but when she’s also got other primal nature spirits in her head it’s a little difficult :] ). Her second would be for her Scrying to succeed - she wants to help her party members find those family members (or others) they’re searching for, but it’s hard if they roll well against her spells........ Lastly, she’d want Seraphina, a certain aasimar rogue they met, who was quite nice to them until she decided to betray the party to her slaver father, to recognize that slavery is bad and for her to stop betraying them. Aike appreciates new friends, and sympathized for Seraphina’s story she told them, but it’s hard to trust or help someone when they backstabbed your whole group xP

18. What is their favorite spell or method of attack? Aike’s favorite spell attack is Dragon’s Breath (also Xanathar’s) because of it’s versatility and the fact she can be either close or a little ways away from her target. Also, you get to eat a chili pepper each time you cast it and she enjoys the spice ^-^

Thanks for the ask! I answered one of these on the super lengthy post I just put up, but I’ll happily do the other one! 

🗣️ What are the most painful words that can be said to your OC to utterly break them? What are the words that you could tell them to cheer them up? Maybe some advice to give them the boost they need!

Implying that she’s crazy or paranoid would definitely hurt her a lot. She spent a long time knowing that people were plotting to hurt her, but having her fears dismissed, and she still struggles with the fallout of that whole scenario. But I think the thing that would absolutely devastate her would be if someone were to tell her that she didn’t actually mean anything to them, or that she wasn’t really their friend. She has major fears about abandonment, so that’s definitely the thing that would be most likely to break her.

I want to joke and say that telling her “I bought you a cupcake/pastry” would be the thing that would cheer her up. But in all seriousness, it would be reminding her of how much she means to the people around her, and how much good she does in the world that could make her feel better about anything. Or if all else fails, go fetch Aloth or Vela and make them give her a hug.

3. How did you choose their name?

I’ve loved the name Aoife for a long time and I wanted to have a character with that name, really plain and simple. I didn’t care that much if it was a “female” name and that I was giving it to my masc character. His name later grew to mean more, a connection to his Aedyran mother who died in childbirth with him. 

14. If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be? 

It comes down to his dispositions for him in the game: benevolent, rational, honest, and diplomatic. He’s built a lot on the combo of those traits and how they play off of each other, especially rationality versus being benevolent. I guess that counts as four things to keep in mind, but they all play off of each other and morph into developing the bare bones of his personality.

Varric #3: “Did your Inquisitor approve of Varric’s stories? Did they read any of his books?”

Exiting Val Royeaux, Varric could tell the Inquisitor was a tad more high-strung than usual. The elf found no joy in their shopping trip, that was for sure. Varric decided to take it upon himself to give her something else to think about. “You know Inquisitor, you’re one of the few people I’ve ever met who hasn’t immediately asked me for details about Hard in Hightown.”The Inquisitor responded in turn. “Why would I, when I have never read it?”“Wait,” Varric stopped, “Seriously?”“It seems you’re not as famous as you thought, Varric,” Cassandra poked at him.“Do you just not like mysteries, or…?”“Varric,” The Inquisitor pulled her mouth back in amusement, “I am a Dalish First. I spent my time reading about magics and elven history, not works of fiction. Where would I even get such a book?”“I don’t know, you said you read The Tale of The Champion,” Varric shrugged.“Yes, our tradesmen do bring books back with them to share with the clan from time to time,” she explained. “A book detailing a heroic fight against templar oppression is very exciting.”“Well, Hard in Hightown has some excitement of its own. You see, Donnen Brennokovic of the Kirkwall Guard is chasing after the mysterious death of the Magistrate–”“No offence Varric, but a fictional story glorifying human guardsmen holds no interest to me,” She uncharacteristically interrupted him with a flat voice.“I see,” he said, as the group began walking again. “Well, to each their own.” The Inquisitor only nodded. “You could always ask more about the Tale of the Champion?”“Well, since you mentioned it, please do tell me about the Duke again.”“Right,” Varric rubbed his hands together, “So, as you know, it all started with a mysterious elven woman came out of nowhere…”

Iron Bull #2: “How did your Inquisitor react to the Chargers? Did they utilize them as allies or leave them to Bull?”

Iron Bull and his Chargers had claimed Haven’s tavern as their own that night. Their laughs, cheers, chants, and banging tankards could be heard from anywhere in the village. Amaris found the noise difficult, herself, but did her best to minimize her wincing from her table off to the side. She would have preferred to be in solitude, but at such an ungodly hour in the night, unless she wanted to curl up with a lowly candle, the tavern was the only source of strong light. The way they carried on reminded her of a rambunctious family. And yet, they were all so different.That was when one Charger in particular caught her eye. An elven woman with pale blonde hair. Krem, the Tevinter man and a few others were cheering her on as she downed a large mug of ale. She slammed her mug down and everyone threw their hands up, while the man next to her slumped forward in what must have been defeat. Just like that, she turned her head, and Amaris felt a tiny flutter from how beautiful she was. Beautiful… And Dalish. There was another Dalish elf here. Amaris threw her book down and nervously approached the woman, eager to talk to her, even if only for a moment.“Dill macaw Aneth ara, lethallan. I see you too wear the vallaslin of Dirthamen,” she greeted, referring to the bright green ink on the woman’s face.The woman looked Amaris over, and smiled. “The Herald of Andraste worships the Creators? How blasphemous,” she mused.“I am not the–Oh,” Amaris realized she was being sarcastic, “Apologies, I suppose I am so used to having to say that every five minutes.”“I imagine.” “I am Amaris of Clan Lavellan,” she extended her hand, “Of what clan do you come from?”“Boss!” Iron Bull’s booming voice came, and he soon took a seat at the stool between them. He himself was nursing a large cup of alcohol. “I see you’ve met Dalish here. She’s a mage, like you.”“Of course I’m not,” The Dalish called Dalish waved at him, using the same tone as she did previously for sarcasm.“If you are–sorry, if you were theoretically a mage, why are you not with your clan?” Amaris asked, but Iron Bull answered for her.“Dalish don’t have templars, so they can’t have too many mages in a clan at once.” Amaris was a tad annoyed; she had recently heard the same falsities from Vivienne. “Bull, that is not true. We…” But she trailed off when she saw Dalish’s face from behind him; that of anxiety. Whatever true reason she was away from her clan, it was not something she wanted to talk about. As much as Amaris wanted to correct Iron Bull, she did not want to make her fellow elf uncomfortable. “…That is, my clan, and most of the clans I know of love our mages. I am sorry to hear your clan was different, Dalish.”The blonde elf nodded, what looked to be in thanks for one thing but actually another. “Huh,” was all Bull said, and took another sip of his drink. Amaris was thankful he was clearly intoxicated, otherwise his proven to be keen Ben-Hasrath senses would have no doubt picked up on her rather poor, stumbling lie.“If you will excuse me, I think it is time I attempt some sleep,” she excused herself. “Perhaps we could talk more later, Dalish?”“Anytime, not-Herald.” Dalish winked at her, and Amaris felt her ears and cheeks grow warm. She nodded, and grabbed her book as she excited the tavern.

(I know this question was about all the Chargers, but I feel like Amaris would really connect with–and have a small crush on–Dalish in particular. Also, it’s an excuse to do some gymnastics around that BS retcon DA:I threw at us, lol.)

1 & 5 have been answered! (:

10: Fatima’s got a guilty conscience a nautical fucking mile wide, and at the same time, thinks she’s sort of the best? She’s a Hot Mess, who still thinks she’s Hot Shit. Thinks she’s better with people than she is. 

She knows people have died literally because of her and her failures, her failure at something she thought she was really good at, and she’s really fucked up about it. She still thinks she’s one of the best damn treasure hunters ever to play the game though. 

She also views adventuring not as a path to glory or greatness at all, but just as a career path. She doesn’t think she’s the kind of person that has a Fate or a Destiny, and that works perfectly fine for her, thank you very much. The sorts of people who are ordained to do anything for the gods end up unhappy and die young, get buried in spectacular tombs, which she rifles through centuries later. Greatness seems like an early route to death, as far as Fatima’s concerned, and she really just wants to live it up as long as possible.

Current favourite song: um. how dare you make me pick one. promiseland by mika has been stuck in my head for like a day and a half, so we'll go with that one.

Currently reading: the mystery of mysteries, an edgar allen poe biography my mother got me for my birthday and thus will expect me to have Thoughts about next time i see her. i am not usually a biography person so it is slow going

Currently watching: well i was going to answer this with what i most recently watched since i don't have anything playing at the moment, but apparently that's the next question shhh

Recently watched: ...most recent thing i watched was an online linguistics lecture after a conversation with mistralrunner made me remember that i actually really like linguistics. because i'm a giant nerd. but if we're talking specifically shows, i think the last thing i watched properly was the clone wars show, because i like to make myself suffer i guess

Current WIP: um. oh dear. so much. many of them being the reason behind the "rotating in head like a microwave" problem above. so uh. if we're talking purely fic-based and not the character bios i've been working on, an eso fic that is basically a character relationship study for jehenara and verandis at lorkrata hills. though i also have a few pieces with jehenara and gwendis figuring out how to be friends that need to be edited and then i need to decide if i'm going to do anything with them that isn't leaving them on my google drive and never acknowledging them again.

i think anyone i might normally tag has already been tagged by other people, so we're going to pretend i tagged someone here and move on
