#missionpancakes, for #soufflepancakes took place early on Friday am. We rondevued at 7:45am headed to the #westbay hoping to score the first 3 wait seats (yes, the line for the line) to receive numbered tickets to purchase one order of #premiumpancakes each for the 11am seating. Sucess #1 Know our rules broken: waiting 2+ hrs to eat something & leaving Oakland to do so. Their rules, only one ticket per person, no leftovers or to go for these particular #pancakes. I wanted to roll my eyes at just how ridiculous this all was but the staff there was awesome! They came out to greet the line, gave out water & coffee, brought out the plush pancakes for pics & explained timing. We made friends in line, strategized our order & were seated at 10:45am so we would most def be the 3 first orders out of 10 for 11am. Sucess #2 Our server, young Rose, was delightful. She put in our order right away, explaining the cooking process. We added eggs, "sausage" aka hotdogs, berries & tea. Watching the servers oh so carefully walk our orders from the kitchen showed a remarkable amount of poise. The Verdict: delicious, airy, eggy pancakes. I only used #butter, no syrup needed. Would I eat these again? A quick photo before the pouring rain and running into a taxi...🇯🇵 when we first attempted to get a table here, it was 1 May, a public holiday and we were told that the waiting time could take about an hour, apparently, the queue can get to the exterior of the patisserie where you’d see the railing behind me. But thank goodness we managed to get a seat for teatime in no time, this time.
