Isabella: He's so cute. I can't wait until I have a baby.

Julian: Yes you can.

Isabella: Well yeah I can, 'cause I'm gonna. But you know what I mean. Baby fever is real. Just look at these little cheeks.

Richie: How was Noah? Did he cry?

Julian: Yeah, I was pretty surprised. Didn't expect that from him but everyone was pretty emotional.

Richie: I can't believe how much he looks like him.

Julian: Why? 'Cause you thought he was going to be Damian's?

Richie: Well...

Julian: I know who my baby daddy is, Richie.

Isabella: It's not that we doubted you, Julie. It's just that...it's no secret you slept with Damian and that's kinda how babies are made.

Julian: I know how babies are made.

Vivian: Oh, hey guys.

Devon: Oh thank god.

Devon: There he is. How about we let these kids have their fun and go downstairs to shoot some pool?

Vivian: Okay, okay. Just let go.

Devon: So, how is it being a new uncle?

Vivian: Ask me again in a year. Is it bad I was hoping the kid would come out with blonde hair and blue eyes?

Devon: No offense to your sister, but we were taking bets on who the father could be.

Vivian: Well the ruling is out: he's definitely Noah's. The baby is practically his twin.

Vivian: Only time can tell where this will lead us, but it does seem like they're both trying at least. It's not the poor kid's fault that his parents are a couple of fuck ups.

Devon: Any idea how this is going to affect your custody case with Jade?

Vivian: Not a clue. The date is getting closer and honestly, I'm shitting myself over it. It's hard to predict what stunt a junkie will pull.

Devon: I know it's not ideal, but this is the best place for Julie and her new baby. You have this nice house, you're a teacher, and now you even own a bar. The only thing Jade has to her name is that lodge she shoots up in.

Vivian: She's doing everything she can to look good on paper. I just hope the judge isn't dumb enough to fall for it.

Energy Update: August 2024

August is a “7” Universal Month [8 (August) + 8 (2024) = 16 – 1+6 = 7] in an “8” Universal Year. “7” is the number of the mystic or the Other-Traveller, and 7 months also tend to carry this energy. This is very in line with a month where the major astrological transits are Mercury’s third retrograde of the year.

The Set Up

We begin the month of August with the Sun and Venus in Leo, Mercury in Virgo, Mars and Jupiter in Gemini, retrograde Saturn and Neptune in Pisces, Uranus in Taurus, and retrograde Pluto in Capricorn. By month’s end, the Sun will have entered Virgo, Venus will have moved all the way through Virgo and onto Libra, and Mercury will have retrograded back into the sign of Leo.

The Nitty Gritty

All eyes are on Mercury who is deep in their pre-retrograde shadow by the beginning of August. Mercury will retrograde from 04° Virgo on 8/4 to 21° Leo on 8/28, so most of the month will be pre-occupied by this transit. This is THE big transit of the month; I have written in detail about Mercury retrograde here. Otherwise, we are in for a pretty standard month. We’re moving through the late summer signs, and things are heating up and slowing down. We need to keep an eye on our full moon in Aquarius with its multiple t-squares and the Venus-Mars square we will experience this month.

Our Sun is well placed in its home sign this month, but all of our other personal planets are out of whack in some way or another: Mercury is retrograde, Venus is in her fall, and Mars can’t make heads or tails of Gemini. This is going to show up in our world as all of us will be a little bit off track all month long. Step away from the grind, if you can, because you can’t get there from here right now, no matter what you do.

I’m trying something a little bit different this month and looking at our personal planet individually here – please refer to The Details section for specific dates and transits.

The Sun and Moon

As the Sun moves through Leo, it makes relatively positive aspects (sextiles) with the North Node and Chiron in Aries and a harsh square with Uranus in Taurus. Leo is our fixed fire sign and represents the true nature of the summer season—life gets slow and hot while the Sun transits the sign of the lion. We might as well make like cats and enjoy it. Leo can sometimes be known for laziness, but it is better viewed as a conservation of energy. Move when you have to this month, surely, but don’t be afraid to take a long nap in the heat of things. Things will not move quickly this month – you will not miss out if you step away from the fire for a bit of well-earned rest.

Both of our lunar events involve our Leo Sun and carry a lot of heat and pride. Beware of your ego, and remember to share the space in your life with those you care about. Our month begins with the Sun in exact aspects with our lunar nodes on the Aries/Libra axis – this is a check-in with the greater theme we’ve been experiencing around individuality versus dependency. Leo – especially in its more immature forms is so egoic that they may immediately side with Aries and their independent streak, but there’s a deeper stream at work here. Leos are pack animals; they function best when they have found their pride. Part of that is putting yourself aside and understanding how you fit into the bigger picture. This theme will run through both our Leo new moon and our Aquarius full moon.

Our new moon on 8/5 at 12° Leo is a good day to have a good day. It is not heavily aspected – the Sun and Moon will be in a wide sextile to Jupiter in Gemini, which certainly is encouraging, and that’s really it. It carries with it the energy of 1 and 8.

5 (Leo moon) + 5 (Leo Sun) = 10 = 1+0 = 1. 1 (Leo new moon) + 7 (August 2024) = 8.

Note here that “1” is the number inherent in ALL Leo new moons – they are always a good day to be yourself and to start over. (See above how Leo loves Aries, sign #1) “8” is the number for the Leo new moon in August 2024. “8” is also our number for the year; “8” years take us on a roller coaster ride of ups and downs. But what goes down must come up, and what goes up must come down. This is yet ANOTHER indication that 8/4 is a great day to change where you are in that equation. This is a new moon that you can use to rebalance your life – note here that “8” is also the number of Leo, and the Strength card (traditionally shown with a lion) is the card associated with the sign. Any work done with the number 8, the ouroboros, or the Strength card will be augmented by this energy.

On the other hand, our full moon on 8/19 at 27° Aquarius is our glaring warning sign for the month. The Sun and Moon will form a harsh fixed t-square with Uranus in Taurus that will be further aggravated by retrograde Mercury closely conjunct with the Sun and a secondary mutable t-square between Jupiter in Gemini, Venus in Virgo, and retrograde Saturn in Pisces. T-squares are always worth noting because they create a lot of tension on the “hinge” planet (in this case, Uranus for our fixed t-square and Jupiter for our mutable). Something is bound to give. And when it does, it’s likely to be explosive.

Uranus isn’t known for its stability (it erodes/corrodes everything it touches, much like its namesake), and slow-moving Taurus becomes a ticking time bomb with bull.exe on the back end.

Sometimes, Uranian fuses are duds. That’s how unpredictable Uranus is. I want you to understand that I am not trying to incite fear or panic—we are talking about astrological weather reports here. Uranus puts explosivity in play. Whether the card gets drawn is not up to us—not really, not when Uranus is involved.

This is to say that if you have control over it, avoid things that have the potential for explosions on and around the full moon in August. Let’s be real here – we all get a little bit loony around the full moons, and tempers get high. We all know somebody who worked in healthcare or retail and has horror stories about how the public acts around a full moon. This one is likely to turn the dial up to 11. I would avoid the interstates and political protests and stay out of the way of any wall clouds – you know, if you can. Sometimes, you don’t get a choice. If you have to do it, bring protection and have a backup plan.

The full moon carries 4/2 energy.

11 (Aquarius Moon) + 11 (Aquarius Sun) = 22 = 2+2 = 4. 4 (Aquarius full moon) + 7 (August 2024) = 11 = 1+1 = 2.

All Aquarius full moons carry “4” energy, which may stabilize things slightly. One can hope. This one also has “2” energy – it’s a good day for movement magic of all kinds. Use the energy of the number 4 to stabilize something in your life – perhaps charge a pyramid-shaped crystal with energy or put something within a box to be contained and built upon. The energy will be high and chaotic, so be prepared to ground it out if you draw in too much. There’s a lot to use with this lunar energy, but it could easily overwhelm you. Watch out, especially if you are prone to mania, and practice your care routines early and often.

The Sun’s entrance into Virgo will be uneventful, as always. This will ultimately help – I think – but we’re going to have to get there in September.

Mercury

Retrograde. Read my report.

Mercury is retracing its steps back from the beginning of Virgo through the last decan of Leo for most of the month. Expect your life to go in a different direction as well. This echoes the energy of Mars in Gemini and can be applied liberally to some wild side project that you never have time for. The entire three-week period of Mercury’s retrograde is highly liminal. This is our third cosmic do-over of the year—you might as well use it.

Venus

She’s moving fast and will pass all the way through the sign of Virgo this month and enter her home sign of Libra. Virgo is the sign of her fall so expect to have to mellow the harsh in yourself and ignore it in your Others. I know – this is the hardest work we ever need to do. It’s not personal when Venus is in Virgo; she just…doesn’t quite know how to be nice. This isn’t a super pleasant addition to our month, but it is business as usual and happens once a year – often during Leo season. It’s hot. We are all going to grump a lump about it.

Venus in Virgo will square Mars in Gemini on 8/22, so watch yourself and how you interact with your loved ones around this date. Do you need to be that critical? Can you just show up and support them instead of telling them what to do….again?!? This is breakup weather because both people involved in the conflict will need to bend to truly make amends. Both Gemini and Virgo – ruled by Mercury – can learn and grow from these types of conflict. The question is: can you?

It is LEO season (mostly), so the way out is through your heart. If you can get out of the collective flow and back into your own heart, you will likely be kinder, and that kindness will (almost always) ripple out into the world around you. You can experiment with carrying rose quartz with you to counter the harshness of Venus in Virgo or practice breath work involving the heart center. A technique that I find helpful is to breathe love from the universe into my heart on my in-breath and then breathe love to the universe out of my heart on my out-breath.

This will lighten the minute Venus enters her home sign of Libra on 8/29.

Mars

Mars is chugging away in Gemini, a sign that he is poorly placed. Mars wants to keep moving toward its current target, and Gemini is full of side quests and back roads. This indicates that no matter how hard we work, we’re not getting places this month. You might as well just accept that now and turn your attention towards things that aren’t so focused. Mars in Gemini can focus right now, but not for a long time.

Hold until you need to do it, and then get it done.

Mars in Gemini has a tiny bit of the feeling of Mercury retrograde (especially Mercury retrograde in Virgo), so if you do need to put in the work, do it in a roundabout fashion. Get really creative. Points for thinking so far outside the box that nobody can follow your path but still get it done. Mars in Gemini strongly supports deep exploration of topics – this is the special interest zone for sure. This energy also supports writing a completely reckless first draft (like not of the manuscript you are supposed to be working on).

Mars will conjunct Jupiter at 16° Gemini on 8/14 and then square retrograde Saturn in Pisces two days later on 8/16. Don’t expect the roads to be clear. Things are not what they appear during this time. If you get a break on 8/14 – take it right then. By 8/16, it either won’t be there, or it won’t be what it seemed to be. Luck may swing wildly during this time.

Watch out for anger when Mars squares Venus on 8/22 – it won’t last long, but it is likely to be biting.

Rebekah was starting to worry about Elijah, she knew he would take Kol’s death badly, so she had accepted a few missed calls but it had been more than a month ago.

Rebekah only goes to the mansion Klaus had claimed as theirs because she had no other leads on her brother. At first she had assumed he was dealing with the news of Kol and left him to grieve, as guilty as she felt leaving him alone to it but she had had the cure to find, she had thought to share it with him.

That had failed, and after days looking for any signs of the cure and Katherine, she had started trying to reach out to him, he knew Katherine and had far more contacts than she, thanks to not being in a coffin for decades.

Yet he didn’t answer, nor call back after she left message after message.

So she had come to Klaus, her last brother left beside Elijah, to ensure he hadn’t used Elijah’s grief to stab him in the heart as much as she hoped that was below him.

She had thought- hoped that Kol’s death may have started a change in him since he had apparently left the others alone, other than Caroline and Tyler’s deaths and burning down the Gilbert house but that was the other reason she had returned. 

If Klaus hadn’t changed, only one person could reason Klaus into being restrained and Klaus wouldn’t give up on revenge unless he got something else out of it. 

“NIK!” she shouted as she kicked open the door.

Silence greeted her.

“NIK! GET DOWN HERE!” she ordered, her voice echoing, she reached for a vase and threw it expecting him to appear to lecture her of messing up her precious home.

The one he seemed to put more thought and care into building than he spared for the siblings he had expected to live there with him.

He deserved to be alone, she thinks sometimes.

“I KNOW YOUR HERE.” she screamed, his car was outside and she had checked around the town everyone had pointed out he was here, rarely left in fact.

Still he didn’t appear in a fit of rage and threats.

A seed warning grew in the back of her mind, something wasn’t right, but she refused to let it bother her, Klaus enjoyed causing fear to those he felt wronged him. His family weren’t free from that and she wasn’t going to fall for his games.

“WHERE’S ELIJAH?”  she demanded, smiling when her supernatural hearing picked up the faint sound of something falling to the ground.

She was two floors up and stalking towards the room Nik had made into his studio, she kicked the door open and stormed him prepared for Klaus’ anger.

He stared at her, the lack of anger making the seed grow, her eyes flicking to the still wet brush by his foot, the cause of the noise that led her here. 

She looked up and around to the dozens of portraits and paintings surrounding him, weeks if no more of work. A few abstracts and scenery but most were of a signal person, she managed to spot one or two of Caroline but the rest were of just one person.

Elijah.

“What the?” She said.

“You took your time sister,” Klaus greeted, calmly, too calm “I heard your quest for the cure failed.” he said almost pleasantly, the lack of cruel bite in it had the hairs on the back of her neck raising.

“What have you done to our brother that left you feeling the need for this?” she asked, looking around at them, trying to ignore her screaming instincts that something was wrong.

If anyone, he would be painting Kol.

“What can I do for you Rebekah?” Klaus replied, ignoring her question.

“What have you done to Elijah?” she repeated, “he’s not answering my calls.”

Watching Klaus this time she noticed the flinch at their brother’s name, how angry had Elijah been to cause that? Had he blamed Klaus for Kol’s death? Was that why he wasn’t answering her because she had worked with them after it?

For a moment she feel guilty for suspecting him, Elijah could be stubborn and harsh himself.

“Klaus” she started.

“Come with me” Klaus ordered before vanishing in inhuman speed, she followed him.

Her guilt evaporated when she realised where he had led her.

“I knew it.” she hissed as they stopped in a room of coffins. “You daggered him-” she stopped as Klaus moved to open Kol’s.

“STOP!” she shouted suddenly she didn’t want to see it, she knew they killed Kol, she didn’t need to see it and she wouldn’t accept Klaus using that as a punishment. “I don't need-”

Klaus threw open the lid without hesitation and she froze as she found Kol fine, daggered and desiccated as normal with the daggers but whole unburned.

She found herself stepping towards him reaching out, it was almost like all she needed to do was remove the dagger and she would have her brother back.

“How?” she asked looking up to find Klaus standing by the rarely used coffin of Elijah’s, a chill went down her spine at Klaus’ expression for a moment. The dozens of portraits upstairs flashed through her mind. Klaus didn’t do that with people mad at him, he did it with those he lost.

No. That couldn’t be- Elijah wasn’t dead, but if Kol wasn’t and Klaus and her were alive then how did they finish the map?  

“It wasn't Kol’s sireline.” Klaus told her unneeded.

“No,” she refused “they said Kol’s sireline finished-”

Stefan lied to her, she realised as her breathing became shorter, they all had, all that time.

“That was their plan but Elijah arrived first,” Klaus explained even as she tried to deny the facts her mind was putting together. “They lied to you, so you’d help them.”

He killed your brother. Damon had said, he had meant Kol, he had to have meant Kol, because-

No no no no, she shook her head in denial, Elijah couldn’t be dead. They couldn’t have killed him, Kol took risks, they had needed to rescue him before because he had played with his opponents and gotta captured but Elijah- 

She couldn’t accept a world without him, her safety net. 

“Do you need me to open it to show you the truth?” Klaus asked.

She couldn’t speak, couldn’t move, yet Klaus did.

The lid lifted and her denial was shattered

The white wrapped shape looked too small, it was all wrong but Klaus wouldn’t have done this to hurt her, he wouldn’t have put someone else in Elijah’s coffin.

Elijah was wrapped the same way Henrik had been when they placed him on his pyre. She wondered if Klaus had done the same with Finn and mother’s bodies before she gagged as the smell of ash reached her.

She curled in on herself, leaning over Kol’s body and heard Klaus close the other coffin.

Such a simple sound for a world breaking thing. 

“No.” she whispered as she felt the tears escape her, wishing the word was enough to undo it all.

“Yes.” Klaus replied flatly.

He was gone, Elijah was dead.

He had been gone for two months without her knowing.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” she asked, hurt and betrayal open, her eyes widening as she remembered the days on the island. “You helped us, why didn’t you tell me then?”

Why leave her to help Elijah’s killers? Had they laughed at her? Elijah’s blood on their hands and her HELPING them.

Klaus shrugged like he didn’t care but Rebekah knew him better as he refused to meet her eyes.

“Tell me the truth,” she demanded, taking a step towards him “You owe me that.”

“Owe you?” he blinked, the rage that appeared was almost a relief against the empty flatness of everything else. “You got to live without his loss for a little longer, that was a gift.” he spat instead of the answer she wanted..

“Why is Kol daggered?” she asked instead of the torrent of rage and hurt she wanted to unleash on him, she wanted to break something, to scream, but she had to put it away, why and how long had Kol been daggered? Did he know? 

“He’s safer.” Klaus answered and Rebekah shifted closer to Kol and reached into the coffin as she read into his tone, Klaus’ belief that the daggers and the coffin were all for their own protection and not Nik’s control issues.

“What?” she hissed.

“He was going to go off and do something reckless.” he argued, rage burning under the attempt at calm. 

“No Nik you can’t just-” she started, because she couldn’t argue that Kol wouldn’t but he should be allowed to grief, he should be allowed to live his life out of Klaus’ control, they all should.

Did Elijah ever get to live for himself? She wonder and her heart sank when she realised she knew the answer.

No and he never would now.

“I won't lose anyone else.” Klaus snarled, desperation clear.

“All you care about is yourself.” she snapped, her hand reaching and curling around the hilt of the dagger in Kol’s chest as Klaus moved towards her.

A moment later they were at a stalemate.

One of her hands around the dagger in Kol’s chest, Klaus’ over hers to keep her from removing it, her other catching the other blade before it entered her own, him holding the hilt.

She looked up into his eyes, the brother she once thought would protect her from everything, the coffin behind him holding Elijah and all the things she could never tell him, never apologise, Kol beside her, the one who had fallen to the side over the centuries.

She laughed. 

What a mess they were.

If he daggered her who knows when he would undagger her with Elijah gone.

Her brother gone, did she really want to be alone with Klaus 

She laughed harder, blinking free the tears in her eyes. 

“Rebekah?“ Klaus called suddenly concerned, she felt his hands loosen a little. 

“Do it.” she hissed letting go of the blade aimed for her heart, it hung in the air.

Her hand burned as it healed, even if he wanted to use it now he’d need to reapply the white oak ash as most of it had been removed with her blood. “You want to be alone so much, go ahead.”

“It’s to protect you.” he argued, his hand still stopping her from freeing Kol.

She wasn’t leaving without him, being split up and led them to this.

“Elijah spent his last decades alone,” she snapped, choking on the sobs she wanted to let out, she cost them New Orleans and Marcel when she called Mikael there, but now she was also half the cause of Elijah being alone all those years. “Looking for us because of you, Finn lost nearly all his life because of you, Kol centuries, I lost the last century I could have had with Elijah.”

He had done everything for them and she didn't know he was dead for two months. 

“Do it and it’s over.” she added as Klaus pulled back the dagger, his hand still on hers keeping the other in Kol.

Klaus froze, looking at her with wide eyes as he knew what she meant even as he asked.

“What?“

“You won’t be my brother anymore,” she confessed coldly, “just the monster that took them from me. Henrik, Finn, would he have sided with mother if we hadn’t forgotten him in that box?” she asked the thing that had been bothering her for months “Elijah-“ her voice broke on a sob. 

She forced herself to take a breath as started again,

“If you dagger me you might as well stake me, because Kol and I will be done with you.” she explained, “I’m not losing any more time or anyone else because of you.”

The room is still and silent as she glares, refusing to falter as tears start to appear in her brother’s eyes.

She flinches when Klaus breaks and throws the dagger at the wall, the clatter of metal on stone breaking the soundless air and he vanishes from her sight without another word. 

Rebekah pulls the dagger in Kol’s heart free and waits.

A crash comes from above before more follows it. She looked down at Kol as colour returned to his skin reaching out to move the hair that had fallen in his eyes out of the way as screams started to join the breaking furniture above.

She chokes as the thought that Elijah would deal with Klaus’ tantrum crosses her mind, there was no Elijah, not anymore.

“I’m sorry.” she said, unsure who she was speaking to as she waited for Kol to wake surrounded by the coffins of their family, for once truly filled with the dead.

Empathetic. She is very sensitive to other's needs and feelings and may be someone that people go to for advice.

Fool: Life is a journey and she has a very carefree personality. She's joyful and excited about life. She may be adventurous and spontaneous. Maybe a bit naive about certain things. Someone is stubborn and doesn't like to take risks with love or any other aspect of their life. However, the relationship could be stable, secure, and committed. They have a strong bond and foundation to stand on. On the flip side there may be some distance from a partner. Maybe they are not around much due to their line of work. 3 of Cups, Three of Pents

There may be a friendship forming soon or just a joyous time in her life. Maybe she is going to see co-stars that she considers friends soon. A third party of sorts may come into her life whether it's a love interest or possibly something that may interject with her work schedule. I don't think it will result in anything negative. 3 of Pents suggests a collaboration with someone. Does she do anything other than act, like sing? Or maybe her and a co-star will work together on a different or new project.

Once again I had to look up the number 3. When it falls out like that I always think it's significant. Completion of a goal or manifesting your desires!

Holly Ollis is on stage, standing in front of the podium mic with Craig Tomashoff sitting beside her. To the right of Ollis is a long clothed table with mics and name cards for each of attending panelists.

Holly Ollis: Okay, I have a little news for you first. Um, Jared Padalecki really wanted to be here today. (audience aw’s) But, unfortunately he was working making.. the first episode of the new season of the show till six in the morning and missed his flight. (audience aw’s) So, I’m sorry. However! (holds finger up) we have Jensen Ackles in the house, (audience cheers) (briefly raises up her fists in cheer) who will more than make up for it, and (gestures to the right of the stage) in addition to our other producers. (audience chuckles)

And- Yeah, no pressure. And I just wanted to introduce our moderator. It’s the West Coast Bureau Chief for TV Guide, Mister Craig Tomashoff. (audience claps) (?He’s getting to introduce?) you into the show and some videos, and then he’ll be back to introduce our panel. (audience cheers and claps)

Ollis exits the stage. Tomashoff stands up and takes the podium.

Tomashoff: Thank-Thank you guys, uh, for coming. I- I’m actually totally fascinated by the concept of the Winchester girls. Um. (audience screams) (holds out hands) Hey, I don’t know if you rank out, by the way, but I could always use that sort of fanbase. So. (audience laughs) (?Everything- Everything-?)

Audience member: (?Orange Howage?) has TV Guide in the TV. (audience cheers and claps)

Tomashoff: Alright. (shrugs) Thanks for letting me on to the, uh, the feedback. And, uh, just get me my own crew and then we’re set.

Um, I just wanted to say something, like, really quick. It’s actually an, uh, honor moderating for this one. I’ve been doing a lot of- of over this weekend but, uh, I actually really love the show. I’m just e-excited (audience woo’s) (?And apparently you’re too excited..?) (gestures hand) (?to be here one time?) (?) (audience claps and cheers)

It’s just that the- the beauty of the TV reminds you of, like, as a kid you just stay up late to (gestures) watch, like, the Chiller Theater and all that kind of stuff. Only you, like, (raises hands up) get into this show and get the excitement.. uh, without the used car ads and all that kind of stuff. It-It- It’s just- It’s-It’s a really entertaining show, one of the most fun that we have on TV.

Audience member: Yeah! (audience cheers)

Tomashoff: So, what- I wanna tell you what we have coming up for you before we get to our panel. Uh, we have a couple of surprises, uh, and things for you to look at. Uuum, first of all, we have, uh- uh.. a world premiere of a “Script to Screen,” uh, video. It’s going to be from the season 2 dvd collection, uh, (audience cheers) Sept. 11th. A beside the scenes making of last season’s season finale. Which I’m going to guess you all know the name of.

Audience: “All Hell Breaks Loose, Part 2!”

Tomashoff: All- All, uh, “All Hell Breaks Loose”.. (holds two fingers up) “Part 2” (audience cheers) Uuuum, It just shows why they never leave the gates of hell open, by the way. (audience laughs) (holds up hand) If I could leave with any bit of advice today, never open ‘em. And, if you open ‘em (gestures) (?check?) it quickly. (audience laughs) Because nothing good is coming out. (audience laughs)

Um, we’re gonna follow that with a 2 in a half minute hightlight reel put together by the producers, exclusively for you guys. (audience cheers) (?) all the stuff, and we’ll be back.

Tomashoff: Okay, next up, a-a man you’ll recognize, duh, Eric Kripke, (audience cheers and claps) executive producer and creator.

A stage assistant walks up to the front of the table and fixes a name card. Kripke walks up on stage and stops near the chair that is the third seat to the right of the podium. Kripke waves and then sits down. The woman leaves.

Tomashoff: Alright, uh- uh, a young man who’s, uh, you know, getting a break with the show. And, uh, hopefully, uh, things turn out for him pretty well. I think they might. Uh, Jensen Ackles.

The audience screams and claps. Jensen walks on stage. The stage assistant returns to the front of the table to signals to Jensen where to sit. Jensen waves at the crowd, touches Kripke’s shoulder and then sits to the left of Gamble.

Tomashoff: And the last, and never, never least in anyone’s hearts, co-E.P., Mr. Ben Edlund.

The audience cheers and claps. Gamble and Jensen clap. Edlund walks on stage and sits to the left of Kripke. Tomashoff leaves the podium and goes to sit in between Kripke and Jensen. The stage assistant taps on the table and then leaves.

Kripke: Yeah, we screened the, uh, Pilot, uh, a couple years about, but, uh, none of us were here, so this is (raises hand) our first interaction with, uh, Comic-Con. We’re overwhelmed. (audience cheers and claps) So, thanks for showing up!

Tomashoff: (looks at Jensen) Um, w-what do y’all think so far? (shrugs) What would you rate the experience?

Jensen: I’m- I’m still- I’m waiting for my heart race to.. (waves to himself) (audience and Kripke laughs) (?um, stop racin- stop racing.?)

Gamble: That’s more cameras than I’ve (raises hand) ever seen pointed- (laughs). (audience laughs) (laughs to Jensen) I should sit next to you all the time. (audience and Jensen laugh)

Tomashoff: Alright. So (?I think?) the only problem you’re going to have today is people aren’t very enthusiastic. (audience chuckles) (to the audience) So, I think, uhh, you’ll have to amp it up a little bit for these guys. That would be great.

Um, yeah. I guess, ehhh, what I want to do is sort of start with the end, with the finale we saw a little bit of. Iiii- I mentioned before, y-you gotta know if you leave the Gates of Hell open… it’s not going to be good. So, um-

Kripke: No, no, it’s rarely good.

Tomashoff: Yeah, but a- a couple seconds, maybe.

Tomashoff: So, what’s, uh, what’s in store? What, uh, what can you tell everybody that, uh, we got to look a little bit forward to?

Kripke: Yeah, uh.. You know, f-y- season 3 is the, um- a-a war time season. Uumm, which, uh, in the- it’s- it’s a giddy time inside the writers room. (audience chuckles) Uhhm, because, you know, we’ve had, you know, two seasons of.. mythology. And- and quite frankly, (undulates his hand and repeatedly nods) the mythology is starting to get.. a little complicated towards the end there. And, um, and so to be able to kind of.. (swipes) wipe it clean and have a fresh slate and (gestures) lead organically into, uh, you know, a-a-a much bigger escalation and a much more vital storyline.

Jensen is making an exaggerated face while pouring himself some water. The audience giggles.

Kripke: Which is, “it’s the end of the world,” like, “pick of arms, choose a side.” You know, “try to fight it,” ummm.. and, uh- and just, you know, “raise some hell.”

So, um, you know, we’re- we’re really excited, um, for this season. And we think, you know, we’ve always aimed for kind of like the big picture of mythic storytelling of like Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings, and Matrix. And, there’s always a point, in which.. you know, you kind of set the chess board, and it’s kind of time for the fun stuff to begin? And, it’s time for the fun stuff to begin. (audience cheers and claps. Jensen nods.)

Tomashoff: (?Season’s been-?) (shrugs) It’s been kind of fun so far. But, uh,

Kripke: Yeah, it’s been fun so far. But it, you know, it- it’s time for the battles and it’s time for the good stuff. And, we’ve been, like, the whole time when this show got picked up I was like, (prays) “Oh, please make it to season 3, because season 3 is when all hell breaks loose.” (audience giggles) And, uh, I’m glad that here we are. And, uh, and we’re looking to deliver for the fans. (audience cheers and claps)

Tomashoff: (?That said?) have you ever mapped it out? Have you mapped it out that much in advance? (Kripke: It’s-) Uh, have you mapped it out to (gestures) “Okay, we to season 3 we’re going to be here, and four and five.”

Kripke: Y-You have kind of like a rough map, you know? You very intentionally leave a large, gaping holes in it because (gestures) certain storylines..(nods) accelerate and certain storylines take longer than you think. But, yeah, (gestures) there’s like a rough plan that (looks at Tomashoff), you know, that we’re still, uh, vaguely on track with, yeah.

◘TV Guide Supernatural Panel SDCC Part 2 Season 3 Spoilers by Gonturan74◘

•(3:51-H2, 0:00-G2)-SDCC07;Q3A- New Characters “Ruby and Bela” (Kripke, Jensen, Edlund)

Tomashoff: (?That said-?) Now, I know there’s, y’know, (opens hands) some things you can maybe say about the, uh, n-new season. Uh, some new characters. Uh, (Kripke nods: uh-huh) two, uh, female characters.

The audience starts clapping. Kripke points out into the audience and laughs. Jensen raises his eyebrows and claps. Gamble claps and then straightens her hair behind ears.

Tomashoff: (?) (nods and briefly gestures to the audience) uh, apparently the Winchester girls! Uh, (looks to his left) What can you guys tell us-

Jensen: Thank God. (audience laughs)

Tomashoff: I see. So, well, how often have you had to go into the writers’ room and say, just, you know. “Come on.”

Jensen: Just anybody but Jared, for cryin’ out- (audience and Gamble laugh) Something! Someone! (smiles)

Gamble: You’re saying that now.

Jensen: (nods) Yeah. (smiles)

Tomashoff: That’s why he’s not here.

Jensen: Yes.

Tomashoff: So, uh- So, we can say those kinds of things. What- what can you say, uh, about the new, uh, (looks to Kripke) characters? The two new females that are coming in?

Kripke: Ummm- uh, Well, y’know, a- a couple of things. There’s- one is, and this is sort of to fans and certain misconceptions and whatnot. Um. (audience laughs. Jensen smiles) There- there not brought in to be the boy’s girlfriends. (Jensen shakes his head) There-there’s not going to be the four of them, like, riding in the impala, (The audience laughs. Jensen laughs to himself) like, eating Scooby-Snacks, and.. (audience laughs) You know. An-and, like, you know, and-and playing like- that’s not the intention at all.

There-there brought in to be, um, a-antagonists and obstacles to the boys. (Jensen nods his head) Um, they thread in and out of stories the same way a lot of our other characters did, like, uh, you know, Gordon, or Agent Hendrickson, or Bobby (audience woo) and Ellen. (a few audience woo’s and claps) And we’re working really hard to introduce them.. correctly and making them part of the fabric of the show that the-the universe was always going to expand, and there’s always going to be these new characters. And so- different characters.

And, so, we’re introducing them right. And, um- and they’re both very different. (Jensen nods) You know, Ruby is kind of unhinged and a little ruthless, a little dangerous. Um, tune in for episode two. There’s a big reveal on Ruby. She’s sort of (Jensen nods) not who she seems to be. Umm, and, uh, Bela, who I’ll let Ben because Ben Edlund created her.

Edlund: Ah. (Jensen smiles. Some of the audience woo’s and claps) Hi, um, (audience laughs) Well, Bela is, uh, you know, in this world. Uh, pretty much everyone who’s got contact with the Supernatural, the stories we’ve been telling, they’re cause-based, right? I mean, like, it’s a- it’s a heroic struggle of good verses evil. And, Bela is designed to be, uh, not that. You know, she doesn’t really have a cause. She’s in it for herself. She is a, uh.., a thief basically.

And so, we’re going to play, I think, um, some pretty interesting games with her. And, uh, she’s going to be kind of a constant foil for, um, the boys’ intensive activities. Not constant like Scooby Doo kind of foil. (audience chuckles) That’s not what I’m talking about. Um, (big nod) but, yeah! So, she’s pretty cool. She’s a cat burglar.

Kripke: Yeah.

Edlund: She’s hot. (audience and Kripke laugh)

Tomashoff: That helps. (turns to Jensen) Um, Jensen, what do you think about having the newww characters in here? Ehp, no love interests, apparently. (Jensen laughs) So, you know, skip that. But, uh.

◘Jensen Ackles at Comic Con 2007 by emyrize (0:55-1:53)◘

Jensen: Um, well, you know, I- I think it’s, uh- I-I know from Jared and I’s perspective it’s very welcoming to have, uh, to have people come on the show to- You can actually, um-um, build a relationship, form a-a structured relationship with someone. I know that, um, you know, we’ve had a couple of characters come in and out. Umm, you know, we had Dad on for a while, and that was, uh, (a few audience woo’s) you know, great to have him. And-and every time he’d come on, there was just this (gestures) dynamic that- that we felt very comfortable in, because it was something that was familiar to us. Uh, same thing with, uh, you know, with-with Jim Beaver who playing Bobby. (audience cheers and claps. Kripke nods.) (Jensen nods and claps)

Um, you know, it’s just- you get to- you get to really.. dive in and explore a relationship between two characters when you get to work with them more. So, uh, I think to- to introduce, uh, characters that are going to be around a bit more, whatever they might be, you get to see more of the dynamic between those characters, between the-the two brothers and it just- (gestures) It adds more layers to an already very layered show. (nods)

Tomashoff: Okay. Ah- (shrugs) I-I probably can’t say a whole lot about who’s coming back, whether it’s Dad, whether it’s anybody. I don’t- (gestures) Sera could you maybe talk a little bit about the other things coming back from ll-last season?

Gamble: We’re going to see Gordon again. (audience woo’s) Gordon is… bad things, bad things are in store for Gordon (laughs). (Jensen and audience laugh)

Tomashoff: (?) You say that very sadistically. So

Gamble: I- Gordon is one of my favorite characters, and it just so happens that we were working on something for him this past week, so I’m- I’m really stoked. And that he’s such- Sterling K. Brown is a fantastic actor and that we were really lucky to get him. And he’s, um, an Army Husband on “Army Wives,” so we don’t have him for long. So, we wanted to make sure we took advantage of him.

Have you ever thought of doing, I don’t know, the Hawaiian episode or something like that. (audience laughs) You know?

Kripke: He’s-

Jensen: I have often been trying to pitch the demon surfer… (nods at Tomashoff) (audience laughs) in Hawaii.

Kripke: That’s true. There-there- That’s true.

Tomashoff: (looks at Kripke) You’re on the spot now. (?You got to turn this one?)

Kripke: Um, you know, it’s-it’s- that’s not really the show.

The audience aw’s and laughs. Jensen slaps the table and then briefly slumps into the back in his chair, looking away off stage. The audience laughs.

Kripke: I mean-I mean.. I mean, we’ve been (shrugs) it’s- You know the- you know, like, uh, it was a-a- I think it was a quote from a-a Sam Raimi actually. Uh, which is (audience woo), you know, uh, “Invent characters you love and then torture them.” (The audience laughs. Jensen pumps his brow, smiles, and nods) Um-And-and, you know, Sam and Dean, that’s their heroic struggle, man. (Jensen nods) I mean, you know, we’re-we’re.. hoping for a happy ending for the Winchester boys when it’s all said and done.

But, um- But, you know, they’ve- they’ve got a lot of work to do. And then- You know, but, they have fun along the way. I mean, you know, it’s just their fun is sort of, you know, kind of reckless-cowboy fun. It’s roadhouses and beer and loose women (Jensen looks at Gamble and then smiles big and nods. The audience laughs) and.. you know!

And-and there’s sort like a wish fulfillment to just be able to.. ditch your job, ditch your life, (Jensen nods) get in a muscle car, and just cruise the country. And.. that’s fun too! I mean, that part.. you know, that “Great American Road Trip.” Uh, you know, there are moments so, uh, you know, it’s not all bad. It’s, uh.. You can’t have a horror show and (Edlund laughs) have, like, nice things happen, like, (Jensen and the audience laugh) “What a delightful piece of pie.” (audience laughs)

Edlund: Oh, yeah. Well, I mean, you know, the- that sort of just kind of.. proves that they can have fun in a way. It’s more we have fun.. than they have it. You know.

Kripke: (laughs) Yeah. Right. That’s right. (Jensen smiles and nods)

Edlund: They have a lighter moments here and there. And, that one I think came from.. Well, I mean, really the Hollywood episode is the challenge for every kind of show, you know what I mean? Like, you’re eventually going to take a look at something like this, (Jensen nods) especially if you don’t.. Ah, you know, if you’re getting around the country this is a show about Americana in a lot of ways. Probably, because these big, you know, central kind of draws, Americana, American ghost stories take place there.

Um, but that was just really, really lots of fun to do. I don’t know.

Kripke: An-And we became, uh- We became enamored with the idea of.. that they make- they’re making, basically, an episode of Supernatural.. (Edlund: Right) in the show. The, um, the Gary Cole was this studio executive, you know? (audience woo and clap) And every note he gave.. the production were real notes we got from the network. (Jensen laughs. So, if you go back and look at it, we have had to suffer every one of those notes like, “Why can’t it be brighter?” (Edlund laughs) And-and you know, and “Why?” and all those things. And then.. we hung him. And, (Edlund: Yeah.) (Audience laughs. Jensen laughs) (mimics his neck snapping) And snapped his neck! And then, so we’re like, “Well, that’s our response.” (Edlund laughs. Kripke: “We-We loved it! It’s so funny!” And we’re like, “Really? Because we’re ripping on you.” (audience and Edlund laughs. Jensen silently laughs.) Umm, but they loved it. So. yeah.

Edlund: Yeah.

Kripke: Yeah.

Edlund: They really do. Well it’s-

Kripke: They have a sense of humor.

Edlund: It’s-It’s true. It’s a fun house mirror. I like those. (Kripke and Edlund laugh) I like to look like- to look like a little round one and then a tall, skinny one.

Kripke: He does. He does a lot.

Edlund: I really do. I’m stuck on the tall, skinny one.

Tomashoff: you have them in the office or do you just walk by and (?)

Kripke: He just likes to go to carnivals. It’s a weird thing for him. (audience laughs. Jensen smiles and shakes his head)

Tomashoff: Uh, you know what? Actually, d-uh, I’m curious if you could step back to the beginning of the show when you’re pitching it around just to get (Kripke nods) it on the air, what the reaction was. I mean, was it- (gestures) was it the same, “Yeah, but could we get them a dog?” (audience laughs)

Kripke: Uh, (laughs) No. No. You know, it- it was- it was an idea or a version of an ide- of an idea that I had for.. probably like eight years before it got set up. And-and it used to get a (Tomashoff nods: mhm) cold response. Um, but there were (gestures) different versions of it. And some of them sucked out loud. (audience giggles) And, like, you know, one of them was an anthology, and one of them was a reporter, and, you know, there’s all these different versions of the show. And- and it always met with a collective yawn.

Um, but, it, you know, it just goes to show you, it’s like, you know, you hold on to an idea long enough and-and (gestures) sooner or later the market kind of turns and, you know, the- the market of what people are looking for just kind of turns in your favor. And, I happen to be pitching it just by a fluke of timing right as “Grudge,” and “the Ring” were, like, tearing up the box office. So, you know, it was a really easy pitch to sit down in front of, you know, a network and say, “ You know, “the Ring” and “the Grudge” are doing” (Edlund laughs) “you know, in box office. I wanna do that on TV.”

Um, and of course, (gestures) you don’t- the show isn’t really that. (Tomashoff: Yeah) In your heart you know what you want the show to be. (gestures) But, you just need a pitch to get them excited. (shrugs) And-and they, you know, they were- they were really excited.

We were actually in a bidding war on- over the Pilot once (gestures) once the time was right. (Tomashoff nods) So, um, you know, a lot of enthusiasm for the idea. Um, and then I wrote it and then they said, “We hate it.” (Edlund and audience laughs. Jensen smiles) But-but at least the pitch sold.

I-eh- that’s really true. I spent three months on the script and was like, “I love- Here’s my baby.” (mimics carefully handing over his script) (audience giggles) And I showed it to them and they were like, (mimics flipping through the script) “This is- this is unreadable.” And they tore it up (mimics tearing the script) (audience aw’s) And-and-and they said, “We hate it.” And-and so I, uh, me and you know, co-executive producer Peter Johnson- (gestures) I spent three months on the first draft. We tore it up. We re-broke. (gestures) And, the entire story, (looks at Tomashoff) I wrote it in ten days. And-and that was the pilot that got shot.

Tomashoff: (nods) (audience woo) I can see why you hung ‘em, uh, (thumbs) hung the guy and broke his neck now. (audience laughs)

Kripke: Yeah, well (shrugs) you know.

Jensen: Uh, I-I-I got- I mean, I’ve got a few that are very dear to me. Uhhh, I know- I mean, obviously the pilot is-is- stands among- among all the rest. But, uh, “Dead in the Water” (scratches the back of his head), um, holds kind of a special place in my heart. Dum, It’s kind of the first time where I really got a sense of who Dean was, and I was able to peel back some layers.

Uhhm, but I think more recently, I think my-my favorite, just because the amount of, uh- uh, the toll that it took on me personally, was the, uh, the season finale of season 2, uh, “All Hell Breaks Loose, Part 2” (nods) (audience cheers and claps) Um… You know, after building a relationship both on-camera and off-camera with, you know, the guy that plays your brother, uh, on the show (gestures) and then have to play scenes, uh, in a room with him (gestures) dead, uh, was (briefly looks at Tomashoff) (Tomashoff nods) very, very, you know, hard and emotional for me.

And at the end of the day, I was just- I was completely spent. And so, I think that, that really- cause I- I was able to kind of go someplace and-and do that. And, um, you know, what- those are kind of.. defining moments for me as an actor to be able to do that stuff and-and really feel proud about it. (nods and looks at Tomashoff) (Tomashoff nods and then turns towards and gestures to Kripke. The audience claps and cheers)

•(5:35-H3, 2:00-G4, 1:41-S4)-SDCC07;Q9C- Favorite Episode (Kripke)

Kripke: Um… I mean, you know. I mean, I love them all. I mean, they’re all kind of, you know, different versions of my kids. (audience chuckles. Jensen smiles) But, um- uh, my favorite in- my favorite- my single- if I had to choose one single episode in season 2 as my favorite, it’d been “Nightshifter.” The, um.. (Jensen nods. The audience cheers) Ben’s- Ben’s bank robbery episode. It’s just (gestures) the-the concept was so tight. And-and it was so well written.

And-and Phil Sgriccia, the director who’s directed some of our best episodes. I mean, if you look, the ones he did they are always some of our best. And he just shot the hell out of it. And, um, and-and it was the most enter- probably it’s- for me the single most entertaining episode of the season.

Edlund: Alright. (Kripke turns to Edlund) Thank you.

Kripke: Yeah, you’re welcome. (Edlund laughs)

Kripke: Oh, (nods) (?directorial?)

Edlund: Your directorial debut.

Kripke: My directorial debut!

Edlund: Um, (Kripke: Thanks, man.) but also, (points at Jensen) You-you know, Jensen, you went through a hell of a lot in that one too. Wasn’t (Jensen: Yeah) this like, directly- it wasn’t as built, you know, the big..(gestures) lose-your-brother thing, but there was an emotional place that, that got to.

That thing- I really loved that. And the story conceit worked really well. (taps knuckles on table) Uhm, (to the audience) this is a good show, I think. I like it. (audience gives an affirmative response back, and then claps and cheers)

Uh, I also really- the thing I really got me into the show.. Um, I mean like, more so than I usually get into.. TV, yuh- at all, it was the, um.. the-the run, uh, the end, like, three episodes of the first season, (Kripke nods) when it really started to do its first, like.. you know, “curl.” The “curl,” of the mythology started to crash on its first shore was really great. And the way that the- that just: the plotting, the breaking, and the intensity of it, erum, rocked! So, good. (Kripke laughs.) Well done! (audience laughs)

Kripke: Right. Well, uh, you- you leave Sam as sort of the sole survivor of all that. So, um, yes. The question is sort of, you know, uh, “Which path is, you know, Sam going to go down?” And, but for now- for the time being, you know, with the Yellow-Eyed Demon dead, it’s, you know, he’s not having visions anymore. He’s not having any of his premonitions. He’s just back to being a regular blood- uh, red-blooded guy, fighting demons, you know? Uuum, and-and it’s-it sort of (gestures) leads into the-the bigger issue of this war and all the demons that they, you know, have to fight.

Um, but yeah. You know, There’s- there are those issues and we certainly don’t drop that thread. You know, we’ll (gestures) continue it throughout the season. (gestures) But no more psychic kids. (Fan: Yeah) I got sick of them. (audience, Edlund, Tomashoff, and Jensen laugh.)

Um (briefly looks to his left and then gestures) But-but one. You know, Sam’s left, but all the other ones, I mean, they were great actors and great episodes, but by the end, I was like, “Okay,” (gestures at his neck) “We need to kill them all.” (audience laughs)

Jensen says something off mic to Kripke.

Kripke: Yeah, yeah. And, in the- in the second episode there’s like a (gestures) big sort of reveal about Mom. (gestures) (Jensen nods and mouths yup) (Fan: mhm) Because, if you remember in.. (points to fan) that episode you’re referencing, it’s like, (gestures) “Wait, Mom knew this demon? And what’s the connection?” (Fan: yeah) And we-we definitely track through as well.

Jensen: Let me get out my list. (audience laughs) Uhh, you know, Kim Manners, uh, writer- uh, not wri- uh-uh, director and, uh, executive producer of the show, uuuum, got us pretty good last- last season. He, uh, he-he actually (leans forward on the table and briefly looks at Kripke) changed the entire schedule- shooting schedule around, so that he could have this one shot done at the end of the day. Uhm, which was, uh, Jared and I (points down) climbing down into a sewer.

(gestures) And they built up this-this big long, probably, 15 foot pipe with a ladder in it on set that we were, uh- to climb (points down) down. (points down) I s- I climbed in first and I was all the way down at the bottom. There was nowhere to go because it was a set. (points up) And, um, Jared’s coming, you know, he’s.. He’s coming in from, uh, from up top. And, uh, right as soon as (gestures) he gets all the way in and I’m down (ducks) there kind of crouched, waiting… two five-gallon bucket of water… (mimics dumping buckets) (audience laughs and oo’s) (briefly looks at Kripke) come over the top. (looks up) And I looked up and I’m just like, “That’s not in the script.” (The audience, Gamble, and Kripke laugh) (looks at the audience and shrugs) Too late. So, uh.. But, uh, we got ‘em back. (smug smirk) (audience woo’s)

And, then there it contin- You know, it’s, uh- another thing people are always asking, y’know, “What-What pranks do you play on Jared? What-what pranks does he play on you?” And, we’ve, uh, we’ve-we’ve quickly decided that, uh, to pit each other against eas, uh, each- to pit ourselves against each other was (shakes head) not the way to go. (audience laughs) (nods) So, we actually get crew members and-and people that come up (Edlund laughs) and it’s, uh, (looks at Gamble briefly) it’s more of a.. more of a team effort. (audience laughs and claps) (leans back)

Kripke: The, uh- By the way, the water getting dumped on him, (gestures) we rolled camera on, (audience woo and wows) um, to film it. It’s on the season two gag reel. So, (Jensen nods his head. The audience screams and claps)

Kripke: (laughs) Ooh no. Um. No, we actually, uh- Season one used to have that problem a lot, where there were whole scenes we would lift. But no, I mean, by their very nature, they’re liftable, y’know? So, if you can tell the story without ‘em, I mean, a lot of times, you just don’t- you-you don’t need them.

And, season two, actually, we rarely had that problem. We sort of learned what the hell we were doing and we kind of came on- on track. So- No, I mean, if you guys see the, you know, again, the-the deleted scenes and all that stuff, like.. I don’t know if there’s a d- You know, we-we (gestures) put every deleted scene on the- on the DVD. (looks to his left) And I don’t know if there’s any that would, like.. blow you away. (laughs)

Jensen: (makes a grimace) Really stand out.

Kripke: (laughs) yeah. Rea- They can be like, “Oh, yeah, they cut that! Yes, smart! Smart!” (audience and Jensen laugh)

Kripke: Um, we’re.. broken on story ideas through the first ten at this point. (audience whistle) There’sss currently no.. plan for that. But, we love that idea. Um, you know, the lil’ Winchesters are- (audience and Jensen chuckle) are sort of like a (?gag? or ?yeah?) or soft of like a fun thing to go back to. And if we find the right story.. Um, you know and it gives- it gives Jared and Jensen some time off, so they’re always like, “How about the little Winchesters?” (Jensen mimics falling on the table. Audience laughs. Kripke laughs.)

Jensen: “Yeah, the kids!” (claps) “That was a Great idea!” (turns towards Kripke)

Kripke: “Yes, I loved that idea!”

Jensen: (rotates his finger in the air) “Follow the act!”

Kripke: “No, no. We should do that! We should have a whole series!” (Jensen and audience laugh) But, um.. I mean, I do like that notion. A lot o fit is actually on- on Jefferey’s availability, (Jensen nods) because, you know, you-you can’t have the kids without Dad. (Jensen nods) And that’s sort of what’s interesting about it.

And he’s- you know, he’s a very busy man these days, but if we were to ever to make it work out, I mean, we love that idea and something that could work out great for us.

Kripke: But, um, every mo- (Kripke looks at Jensen and laughs then returns to the audience gesturing) But, uh, but e-b- but every so often, like, when we bring in, like, you know, a-a, like a female, uh, guest cast, um, I mean it’s like- it’s like, (tilts head and looks up at the ceiling) (audience giggles) “Well, Sam” (Edlund and audience laugh) And- And so that we, uh- (gestures) A lot of times, yeah, we absolutely stand them on apple boxes off camera. So, they’re standing on (gestures box shapes), you know, they’re standing on like, you know, a little two-foot riser to just kind of get up into Jared’s orbit. (Edlund and audience laughs. I mean, even just yesterday, I was shooting a scene with aaa- with a little boy, eh, who comes up and gives me a hug (gestures), and he has this, like, uh, (mimes something in his hand) Nintendo case in his- in his hand, and- and it hooks to my jacket and as he takes off.

Jensen flicks his hand to represent the boy taking off. And then Jensen jerks his body forward on to the table arm first. The audience and Gamble laugh. Jensen gets back up.

Jensen: You know and that was- that was just- Another tim- Yesterday as well, I was- (mimics reaching and grabbing) I was supposed to reach in the Impala and grab my bag, while the-the- the props person had shut the bag’s strap in the door. So, when I went to get it out, it was like-

Jensen mimics grabbing and then pulling on a bag strap but meeting resistance and failing in response. Edlund and the audience laughs. Gamble smiles.

Kripke: Um… Uh, ther-uh, No, but what a great idea. (Edlund and the audience laugh) Um, uh, you know, the season two DVD’s are already done. And, unfortunately, uh, those promos aren’t on them. But, um- But that’s a really great idea for the future. I mean, yeah.

Some of those are really, uh, badass. And.. actually, I hav-I have to give the- you know, uh, There’s two guys, Anthony and Chris at the CW who are, like, (gestures) as passionate about the show as everybody here. And they’re (gestures) always cutting (Jensen nods) these promos and showing them to us. And they did-they cut that Johnny Cash thing. And, they’re, you know- They’re really kicking ass. So, um. Age of the TMNT at the end of their series (theory)

One day while I was watching the 1987 TMNT episode where they travel to the future (Season 5 Episode 2) I noticed something. When Donatello is taking everyone back to the present he says “Next stop, the year 1991″ and this got me thinking. How old would the TMNT be at the end of their respective series? While I was thinking I remembered another detail; TMNT 2003′s season Fast Forward takes place 100 years into the future. In the intro you can see the year 2105 being used. That would mean the year where they got transported would be 2005. Quickly whipping out my calculator and final brain cell this is what I found.

(Quick disclaimer. I haven’t watched 87, 03, and 12 in a while/fully. I may miss in-universe timing details. I also have not fully seen the air dates. Information I will be missing is certain 87 seasons, Fast Forward, Back to the Sewers, part of Turtles Forever).

How old are the 1987 TMNT?

The wiki lists the turtles’ birth year as 1972. This would make them 15 at the start of the series. As stated above, Donatello states they are in the year 1991. This is 4 years after 1987. This would make the turtles 19 years old. TMNT 1987 ends in the year 1996 which is 5 years after 1991. 19 + 5 = 24. The turtles would be 24 years old at the end of their series.

TL;DR 1996 - 1972 = 24

How old are the 2003 TMNT?

The turtles are listed to be born in 1987, this would make them 16 at the start of the series. The 6th season, Fast Forward (FF), starts with the turtles and Splinter being transported 100 years into the future. The year is 2105 meaning the turtles would’ve been in the year 2005 before being transported. This would be 2 years after 2003 thus making them 18 at the time. The year TMNT 2003 completed its run was in the year 2009. A whole 4 years after FF. 18 + 4 = 22. The turtles would be 22 at the end of their series.

TL;DR 2009 - 1987 = 22

How old are the 2012 TMNT?

We all know the 2012 TMNT are 15, it was revealed to us in the first episode. What most of us don’t know is that their birth year/mutation year is 1997 (tmnt wiki). Their aging has been tricky as they are shown/implied to constantly be 15, which is bullshit in my opinion. So for this section, I say fuck canon and hello logic. The show ended its run in 2017, 5 years after 2012. 15 + 5 = 20. The turtles would 20 years old at the end of their series. Side note, this would make Raph a legal DILF. TL;DR 2017 - 1997 = 20

How old are the 2018 TMNT (aka Rise TMNT)

Now, there is not much to do especially since Rise is not over (please don’t let it be true) but I will do what I can. Raphael is 15 at the start of ROTTMNT, Leonardo and Donatello are 14, and Michelangelo is 13. According to the TMNT wiki, their birth years are 2003, 2004, and 2005. The Lair Games take place in 2019. This would make their ages 16, 15, and 14. The turtles are listed on the wiki to be 17, 16, and 15 in the movie. This would mean the Krang invasion would take place in 2020 (I am well aware this is not canon but if you want to have fun with the chaotic year known as 2020 then go ahead). There is not much I can say here as the timeline is messy due to cancellation and other details.

Bonus round!

April O’neil is said to be 28 in season 3 of TMNT 1987. Season 3 began airing in 1989. 2 years apart. 28 - 2 = 25. April is 25 at the start. This would also make her birth year 1962. 1996 - 1962 = 34. She is 34 at the end of the series.

The wiki states 2003 April to be 1980. 2003 - 1980 = 23. She is 23 at the start of the series. 2009 - 1980 = 29. She is 29 when the series ends.

2012 April’s birth year is 1996. She is one year older than the turtles making her 16. 2017 - 1996 = 21 OR 20 + 1 = 21. This would make her legally able to drink (she probably teases them about it too). Rise April birth year is 2002, making her 16. In “Warren & Hypno, Sitting in a Tree” she has her birthday and turns 17 years old. In the ROTTMNT movie she is 18.

What to do with this information?

You can use the information I gathered for fanfiction. You could write stories about them coming of age, becoming adults, and reflecting on their youth and how it was basically stripped from them. There are many things you can use with this information. However, I would advise against using these as a way to create NSFW or crush on them as it is speculation and I would rather not fight anons and other people rn. I cannot stop you but I will be upset if people start fighting me for my shower thought rambling.

For years, I lived in bewildered befuddlement regarding the musical musings of Taylor Swift. I usually listen to rock or metal, so her brand of pop was not a part of my usual lineup. However, I gained lovely friends here on Tumblr who swear by our Lady TayTay, so I decided I should check out her stuff. But there was SO MUCH, I didn't even know where to start. So we have another late one. May I start with the fact that this fic is a beautiful version of the “if you love me go to sleep, know your limits”, meme. And I ADORE it. It is wonderful and warm and Dream is in his soft boi era and I’m in love with it. The fact that Dream experiences every dream of every living thing and yet his feelings for Hob are SO STRONG that he NOTICES when he is not there is enough to make me cry. But Dream reveling in the routine of Hob’s life had me in a fucking puddle. The way Dream just wants to be a part of it as much as he wants to simply be present for it. You can feel the eons of existing in the way his feelings are described and that is once again a BIG favorite of mine. I love how Hob is so unfazed by him at this point in his life that he just figures this might as well happen but there’s still a little bit of embarrassment, not really embarrassment but…being unnerved for once? I don’t know how to describe it, but the way that Hob for the first time realizes that he’s sharing this tiny part of domesticity with Dream, but he’s almost too tired to be fully embarrassed about it. Anyways, if you love Dream x Hob domesticity as much as I do, READ THIS. Absolutely loved it! Thanks to @astrangebird for sharing! 💜💜

Oh no I missed a day....GUESS I'M DOING TWO POSTS THEN!!!!

For day 11, I give you an incredibly recent read! Oh, the way my heart actually skipped a beat reading this. I've said it before but when writers can portray the depth of years onto an ancient character the writing SLAPS 👏🏾. Listen kids, Dream of the endless is basically the pathetic meow meow equivalent to an eldrich terror. Reading fics about him is honestly a LARGE hit or miss for me. Because people will either treat him like a horny teenager or a boring old man. He's the collective unconscious of EVERY LIVING THING. That being said, the portrayal I have of him in my head is a pretty damn high standard. BUT SHIT @fellshish really hit the nail on the head for me. It's not that Dream never acts dumb about stuff, it's just the WAY he's dumb about stuff is so...well...different. The way that Dream's inner monologue is in SUCH denial if not only for the fact that as long as he has control then none of it is real. Until it is, until he wants it to be real so badly that he forgets a bit that this is HOBS DREAM. I absolutely love how at the end of it all, he gives the choice back to Hob. He stops trying to control destiny as if that wasn't what he's been doing this whole time. He surrenders...to Hob. And the romanticism of him surrendering to him regardless of how Hob reacts was just absolutely beautiful. Anyways, now that I have 1,000% spoiled this fic for you, you should STILL go read it! I don’t think you guys understand how much I needed this. Netflix has a habit of cancelling shows with representation in them and I’m scared for this show. Fingers crossed that the bastard son and the devil himself gets renewed for season two! 🥹 Now, this fic. I needed something to fill my head with after this show became my new hyper fixation of the week. The show is so much fun and I honestly love the poly vibes that I’m getting from the main trio! No love triangle, just a triad. As it stands this fic is like getting a warm cup of hot chocolate after being outside in the snow. After the emotional STORM that was that season finale, reading this was like tying a beautiful bow on top of a heartbreak. This fic had me yearning for the love these three have for each other in the darkest times. And hey, maybe this wasn’t the cheerful bow that other people want, but it’s the aftercare post massacre that I needed. Because maybe the bad times were the good times ❤️. We’ve got something new folks! No nessian today! 😂 Okay, I will admit I watched the old guard movie before I read the comics but I’m SO glad I did!!! Props to @hoax1918 for the artwork it is GORGEOUS! This fic goes into an everyday detail that I absolutely love! I love how this just exposes the reasons they care for each other and how they got there. It’s a simple gesture, but they can’t help it! They’re literally magnetic. There’s something about the story that just brims with the electricity of the possible. I fully enjoyed just how hard they’re trying NOT to be fond of each other in public. But again, they can’t help it and I will forever love the pining in this dynamic. Nicky and Joe just have this sweet sadness about them before they become a couple and I don’t think I’ve found that in many other ships! Ok I am still on my Dreamling domestic bullshit. Sorry not sorry. This really made me want to curl up by a fire and hug a cat. The way that this just slaps me in the face with the need to have someone care for me, the tiny details of everyday care just KILL ME. And that’s it isn’t it? That’s the love that Dream and Hob so desperately need, they want someone who will love every detail of who they are. I think that’s what they deserve! After centuries of pining and being alone, Hob doesn’t want to hold back! And Dream is venturing again into love when it has never turned out well for him, he’s afraid. The apprehension that this fic explores, the silent touches, and HILARIOUS timing on Dreams part. But Dream is never convenient is he? And Hob for all that he is has never bothered to care! Not when he was rich, not when he was poor. Dream just integrating himself into Hob’s life accidentally! Literally chefs kiss 💋! This fic really is just full of details that I continue to loose my mind over (because I definitely read it too many times). Sometimes after reading the sandman I forget that Dream loves quiet, yet so so loud. He integrates the person he loves into his very being. He has seen every for of love every living being has to offer. Love is a part of Dream as much as slumber. I absolutely LOVED every bit of this fic! You, the eldest daughter and only child of the L/N family, just want stability. JFW Stats for Fun and Learning

Since I haven’t updated JFW in about a month, I thought it was time to go back for another stats post. I modified the criteria slightly for when I started doing posts over the course of several days instead of 1 entry. Now only the first entry would be counted in either the Top 10 or Hall of Shame unless it was an actual sequel. Reblogs are used as tie breakers in the case of the same like count.

There were some changes to the Top 10, but not many. I’m pretty sure nothing will unseat number one especially since I don’t plan on writing anything else for JFW (but never say never, eh?)

In all seriousness, thank you to everyone who has taken time out of their day to keep up with JFW or anything I’ve written. It means the world to me that people read (and hopefully enjoy!) my silly little stories. As of right now I’m still taking a break from writing. I’ll know when I’m ready to come back. "What's Missing?" paper

For my What’s Missing project, I was assigned the Barebells protein bar. I did some research into the parent company, Vitamin Well, and discovered they had 6 brands. The first is Vitamin Well, which sells sports drinks. The second, Barebells, sells protein bars. Nocco sells performance drinks. Vitamin Well has 3 local brands overseas: Nobe, the Korean aloe vera drink brand, Smiling, the Swedish snack brand, and Tyngre, the protein powder and drink brand. As we can see, most of the brands are either protein snacks or drinks. Vitamin Well says they are making “better tasting and healthier alternatives to traditional beverages and protein-enriched products.” However, I have decided that Vitamin Well is missing a snack brand for kids.

The audience is twofold- it is the kids that the food is designed for, and it is their parents, because they are the ones buying it. It is important to look at the adult audience Vitamin Well is currently targeting with its products because they are already enticed by the brand and this wellness culture it fits into.

Based on the pictures on Vitamin Well’s website, their age range seems to be Millennials. Millennials are people ages 28-43. Millennials are known as the wellness generation, and are eating healthier and exercising more than previous generations (Nermoe). There is a whole wellness culture that sprung up around Millennials, including protein drinks, vitamins, supplements, and products that support a healthy and active lifestyle. The audience for Vitamin Well is a part of this wellness culture, and are looking for these healthy products. As for their lifestyle, they are always on the go, participating in exercise classes, going on runs, shopping for healthy foods, and most importantly for our brand, being a parent. This aspect of parenthood is really the key to the audience. Because they are balancing a healthy lifestyle with being a good parent, the products have to be portable and easy. If they are dropping their kid off at soccer practice, they need an easy and healthy snack to throw into their bag.  

It is also important to note that Vitamin Well’s market started as the Nordic countries of Europe, and has since travelled to the US. Because of this, it is important to target that audience as well. Nordic countries have a significantly healthier lifestyle than people in the US. The diet there is mostly seasonal vegetables, unprocessed food, whole grains, seafood, and even reindeer meat (Austbo). Nordic people also rely on public transportation, and either take the subway, or walk (Austbo). This means they have an active, on the go lifestyle, making easy, portable snacks for your child a necessity.

Looking at pricing, a 4 pack of Barebells protein bars is almost $9, so these are not the cheapest option. In comparison, a Nature’s Valley 5 pack is $4.32. This informs us that the socio-economic class is probably upper-middle class. This also fits into the people in the wellness culture, who often have the means to pay for things like protein shakes and exercise classes.

As for the children, the age range is 5-10. These are young kids who are attracted to color, fun shapes, and patterns. They are in school, and also may be enrolled in extracurriculars, such as sports. This tells us they may need a packed lunch, or snacks for a sports practice. Around age 5 is also when choice becomes a big factor; they will start to become more independent and want to make their own small decisions (“5-6 years: child development”). This can help inform the variety of products in the food line, or different flavors. Children this young are also not really concerned with the health content of food, just if they like the way it looks and tastes. The children this brand target will really infer the design. Studies show that when it comes to food, color is most important to kids. Children are more likely to eat food off of plates with 6 or 7 different colors on it, where as adults tend to eat 2 or 3 (Lang). Food placement is also important, as food made into fun shapes is more appealing to kids (Lang). One product I am considering is a lunchable-style snack tray, and there is data that backs up kids preferences on that as well: along with more colors, kids prefer more sections of foods. The 3 section food trays are actually a reflection of adults’ food sectioning preferences (Lang). Kids also prefer food that is fun. Fun to look at and fun to eat. This includes finger foods, dips, being able to add and mix their own food, fun shapes, and portability (Magee). Overall, this audience is looking for food that looks fun, and is fun to eat. Balancing this with the nutritional appeal for parents will be key to the product’s success.
