hi! i left the queue to run without me for a bit and had fun doing other stuff. my mind feels a lot more at ease after doing that.
you see, my dear followers, i have come to realize something: i feel like shit because i'm always on that damn phone all the time. i have decided to stop being on that damn phone all the time. for now, this means i won't be using this site on mobile anymore. the blog will continue to run as usual, my queue is very long and won't be running out anytime soon.

Neko atsume 2 music box music is so nice! I never heard its equivalent or saw snow in NA1 even though I know it was possible, so for me it's fun and novel...and very welcome after I spent all my fish getting a yard expansion and remodel

Sonic The Hedgehog (2006) has some of the best Sonic music of all time and it is so unfortunate that timecrunch obliterated the game. I know time travel stuff made it so no one but Sonic remembers anything that happened in that game, but urgh it deserved better it deserved to be completed properly. It had so much potential to be good but instead children watched Sonic die on the first loop so many times they cried
(I know that Project 06 exists. This post is about the official game released by SEGA).

You Wouldn't Download a Badge: Badge Customization (and preservation) on 3DS
Badges on 3DS were introduced via the Nintendo Badge Arcade, where using the application allowed you to get badges via crane game and place them on your Home Menu (fun!). These days, the badge arcade is down, but badges live on via homebrew and custom badges. Let's discuss options.
Before I say anything, I always encourage manual backups. If you have badges already, consider backing up that data to another device, a cloud service, anything you have access to. You never know if you'll encounter a nasty undocumented error or if your SD card will come loose at a bad time. Backups of all kinds are always a good idea!
GYTB is an older custom badge application that is still functional. Simply place your desired badges of the correct file size and type into a "Badges" folder on your 3DS, and they'll be analyzed and converted into usable badges upon running the application. You can make your own, or download them from anywhere you'd like! Just make sure to delete any "Preview.png" files from Themeplaza badge sets.
GYTB Automatically dumps your original Badge Arcade badges and installs them alongside any homebrew ones. Shortcuts, however, will need to be restored manually, which can be done with a simple rename and running the app a second time. GYTB does not support multiple "sets" of badges or QR code installation, and many consider the software obsolete because of this. It has very little to offer in terms of features, but its barebones nature makes it easy to use.
Anemone is well known as THE way to install custom themes, and has added badge installation support! Besides letting you put any old PNG on your SD card manually, Anemone also supports themeplaza QR code downloads, which can be very convenient. Anemone supports multiple "sets" of badges, useful for organizing your badges into different visible categories.
If you already have official badges from the Badge Arcade, you must manually dump them using Anemone BEFORE installing custom badges, or they will be removed. But fear not! Since version 3.0.1, Anemone creates an automatic backup at /3ds/Anemone3DS/BadgeMngFile.dat & BadgeData.dat. You can retrieve your data from there! Hooray! Source. You may still need to manually recreate shortcuts.
Both applications should give you the "Place Badges" option even if you did not have it previously upon installing custom badges - just make sure everything is set up correctly! Please be sure to do your due diligence and read the usage guide of your application of choice, else you may run into issues!
In the event that you accidentally scorched your official badges off the face of the Earth due to some sort of horrible accident (like if that data has been corrupted beyond repair), fear not! Some nefarious individuals have engaged in...*Gasp!* Badge Theft...Could you imagine? Horrid individuals violating Nintendo's intellectual property by distributing PNG files for free? How scandalous! Anyway, here's an archive of the official badges from Badge Arcade. Note that badges that are meaning to point to system apps will just be PNGs, so you will, again, need to add the shortcuts back in manually.

After I rb'd that reoccurring nightmare post I had a nightmare about being unable to locate the correct power down button in software on my PC (in the nightmare ecery menu I opened had a different one that did something besides turn my PC off). When I wrangled my dream into getting the correct location it simply deleted the real power button off the face of the earth. I then decided to hold the physical power button on my PC, turn off the power supply, and unplug it.
It rebooted into what looked like Windows XP. Without even being plugged in.
Likely origin for this one is how often I hit the shutoff button for my computer, visibly see the shutting down message with my eyeballs, leave the room and come back to a computer that is for some reason on the account sign-in screen instead of being TURNED OFF.
And like. If it rebooted it would be on the lockscreen, right? But it's always the sign-in screen. It's somehow already there without me doing anything. And that's my nightmare fuel.
(No I do not have fast startup or fast boot enabled)

YouTube slop shorts are fascinating to me. The "Reddit" stories they're reading tend not to actually exist anywhere on the internet. Are they AI generated? Are they paying a guy minimum wage to write these? I can't even tell. They read as triumphant revenge fiction (or straight misogyny), both of which are common on fake Reddit stories, but these ones aren't even on Reddit. We've gone from fake Reddit stories to faked Reddit stories.

Not exactly relevant to a post about AI privacy invasion that I reblogged earlier, but I was watching a video about YouTube making AI-generated comment replies with the uploader's name attached, with zero indication that the responses are generated by AI. The model pulls from the creator's activity on YouTube to make the comments sound morre like them. The feature is just...ready to go, no matter how you as a YouTube creator feel about your work being used like that. There's no opt-in. It's just...there.

See as much as people don't pay attention in class, drawing boosts focus, it doesn't lower it. Think listening to a podcast. The people who weren't paying attention during our serious lessons about mass genocide were having full on conversations mid class (and in my experience, straight up bullying kids during class time), not drawing pictures.

Besides preventing the spread of disease I do love my KN95 masks for helping me smell less horrible smells outside and allowing me to not worry about my expression since my mouth is not visible. I can make looots of silly faces and no one will know
