Soooo first thing’s first - this idea was entirely inspired by misa1’s long-running NBC a fanfic, 100 Women. All credit for the idea of L, S & B drawing wieners on stuff goes to them (it was absolutely their idea originally). Seriously though, their Nightmare Before Christmas fics are fantastic - I’ve been reading their stuff for *years.* To say that I recommend their work is an understatement!

After reading the Paint chapter of 100 Women, I started wondering what it would look like if L, S & B took their wiener vandalism beyond the walls of their fort and maybe targeted Town Hall (or in this case, the Mayor’s hearse). From there, the idea for this super short scribble comic was born and I had to get it out. One of these days I’ll do something a little more polished and in color

....Ssssooooooo I binged Sally's Lament in one day. What can I say. It hooked me deep at some point and the hours just flew by.

All I will say for now is that I absolutely love the story and enjoyed the read. I do have some criticisms to make, but those and further Spoilers will be included in my overall Review, which I will write tomorrow and schedule for later in October.

I have some memes to make. And hopefully some fanart of my favorite scenes. Holy HELL was I spoiled with how much Jack X Sally was in here. I really only have one thing to say:

Hello! Recently I have been going crazy about Jack and Sally and wanted to know if you could give me some good ass fanfiction recommendation of them that you thought were good 👏 I have been struggling to find some good fanfics of them and thought you might know some :D Love your blog by the way!!!

No problem at all, anon! Here's a masterlist of my Jack X Sally fanfic recommendations. I've been working on an updated + revised list, since I've found newer stories that I want to include.

I highly recommend checking out misa1's Jack X Sally fanfics, they're some of my favorite! If you have an AO3 account, this alt has some really good ones too...:)

fave fanfics of all time? any fandom

Oh my gawd, you’re asking me this okay hold on.  I have a lot of favorite fan-fics out there but these are my God Tier favorites:

Anything from misa1′s Nightmare Before Christmas ‘verse both on Ao3 and ff.net.  Misa1′s attention to detail and dedication to world building are amazing.  There’s not a particular plot, just Jack and Sally’s domestic life and the occasional adventures that arise from that, but like, there is just so much of it.  My favorite is the 100 Women: Halloweentown Anthology specifically the one shots Sing and Earth.

 The Adventure of the Hopping Vampire by David Hines (hradzka)  ~ One of the earliest Vastra/Jenny long form case fics, but like it holds up and is so concise and smart.  Also the fandom codifier for Vastra using her tongue to scent things. 

Unbroken-’verse (A Hellboy II AU) by websandwhiskers ~ I honestly don’t remember if this fic series is as good as I remember or how it’s held up over the years but it is very special to me because it was the first fic that I read that made me in awe of language.  I would have easily left fan-fiction to the wayside as a preteen hobby if it weren’t for this series.  Anyway, do you think Princess Nuala had a lot of wasted potential in Hellboy II? Do you want to live in the skin of a mentally unwell Elf Queen after her brother is taken away by the BPRD after the battle with the Golden Army and as she falls in love with a sensitive fish man?  Oh boy do I have a story for you

Good Omens fic all sort of clumps together my brain because I read them in a Queen filled high in the summer and autumn of 2019: -I Will Get Up Now and Walk Around the City by drawlight (everything by drawlight is good) ~ and ~ Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma: An Integrative Approach by Nnm

I really hope you’re following me to see these because Tumblr blocks posts with external links from appearing in the tags! (I’ll try anyway)…So, here are some relatively safe-for-work stories for Jack and Sally I’ve found, and a little bit about them:

Jack Met Sally - A ‘Jack meets Sally’ fanfiction with a little bit more backstory mentioning Jack’s family. I like this fic because it implies Jack’s found Sally cute ever since he met her, and how his attraction started (aaahhh!

When Sally Met Jack - (MY FAVORITE TNBC FANFIC OF ALL TIME!) Another ‘Jack meets Sally’ fanfiction, except this one is more in Sally’s perspective. I absolutely love the dialogue and characterization, it’s inspired me in so many ways and I just love everything about this fic.

Dark Romantics - This one involves a bunch of drabbles filled with Jack/Sally moments. If you wanted to see more of a King and Queen Jack & Sally, this would probably be it.

Dearest Friends - A very detailed fanfic where Jack visits Valentine’s Town and learns more about love and, ultimately, his for Sally.

First Priority - A fanfic where Sally feels lonely since Jack is so busy with Halloween. When he has to come to her rescue, she learns that she truly is Jack’s first priority. I adore this one and sometimes I’ll come back to re-read it.

Sewing Basket - More of a “what if?” scene where Jack searches for Sally after she leaves him the basket. This one is addictive - it has perfect insight to both of their thoughts and climbs to the romance. I recommend reading more from the author as well, their TNBC works are addictive!

Some Assembly Required - Yet another ‘Jack meets Sally’ fanfic, except this one’s a little different. Sally finds and meets Jack, but at a disadvantage - he’s lost his body. The two go on an adventure trying to find it again.

Something’s Up With Jack - This one’s another continuation of the “basket” scene, where after Jack finds Sally after she leaves the basket, she’s freezing and he lets her in his house, where he tells her more about Christmas Town.

The Nightmare Before Disneyland - An adorable fic where Sally takes Jack to Disneyland and, unfortunately, finds he’s very fascinated with the place…I really like this one because of the intro with how much Jack is a kid at heart. :P

You’re Simply Meant For Me - In this fic, Sally lets the cat out of the bag about everything she’s done for Jack that went unnoticed in the film. Naturally, he gets concerned about some of these, like when she tells him she jumped out of a window just to give him a basket…

The Good Heart - A fluffy fanfic where Jack dwells over where he and Sally are now, then they gaze at the stars, before settling in the night together. I absolutely adore misa1′s TNBC works and suggest you read all of them. There’s a lot from them I could’ve recommended, but this one sticks out to me.

Five Times Sally Fell for Jack (And Jack Fell for Sally) - A story showing how Jack and Sally’s relationship progressed and each time they were one step closer to realizing they loved each other.

Two Dearest Friends - (Okay, a little self-promo, but I worked hard on this fic) A more Sally-centered fic where her friendship with Jack turns romantic and ultimately realizes Finklestein just isn’t the one for her.

Cafuné - An endearing fic where Jack helps Sally with her hair. I love the dialogue and the concepts in this. It’s nice to see how comfortable they’d be together.

The Stranger - Yet another ‘Jack meets Sally’ fanfic, except Sally never learns his name and can only call him the ‘stranger’. The dialogue is true to the characters and is overall an endearing fic.

Restless Hearts - A sweet fic where Lock, Shock, and Barrel help Jack and Sally get together so they can talk more about what makes them restless.

Love - A predictably sweet fanfic where Jack learns the true meaning of Christmas is actually his love for Sally. I enjoy all the detail in this fic! It’s very sweet; I nearly got cavities.

Night Terrors - A fluffy fic where Jack finds Sally having nightmares and keeps her company. Naturally, some things unfold and both of them open up to each other. Another author whose TNBC fanfics I enjoy! I recommend reading their collection, too. I had a hard time picking one!

So, there you have it! My list of really well-done Jack and Sally fanfics! I’m sure there’s treasures in the Pumpkin Patch’s fanfiction list I haven’t read…I tried not to repeat any same authors and gave you stories I thought were well-constructed with good stories. :) Have fun reading and if you ever want more, don’t hesitate to ask, anon!
