ALRIGHT!I JUST WATCHED THE MIRACULOUS MOVIE AND I HAVE THOUGHTS! There will be spoilers ahead, so tread carefully

A list, in no particular order, just how they pop up in my head:

The animation was STUNNING! Just, props to the animators, I enjoyed the movie visually SO MUCH! From the use of colours and lighting, to the way they used all of that to upgrade the characters: it was absolute perfection. (though some of those close up shots of Hawkmoth were A Lot. But that was probably the point)

The absolute chaotic energy that both Tikki and Plagg (but mostly Tikki, cuz unfortunately. there wasn't a whole lot of Plagg, which I understand due to time, even if it is sad) is FANTASTIC! I adore Chaotic Tikki so much. She has my whole heart! That little scene of Tikki pushing Marinette's hand to Adrien's? Lovely. Tikki explaining absolutely nothing to Marinette when they first meet? Perfection. Just. Give me more Chaotic Tikki, please!

The soundtrack? WONDERFUL! I kinda knew it was a musical, I think, but I completely forgot, so when Marinette sang those first few notes, I had to catch up a lil, but DAMN I was excited! (sad we didn't get Ce Mur Qui Nous Separe (I don't know the english name oops), but it was still fun!)

On that note: Adrian having the most Disney Princess I Want song in the movie is just perfect. No other words needed. Best choice they could have made there.

ALSO on that note: Marinette's singing voice? BEAUTIFUL! It fits so well! I just couldn't help but enjoy her songs, if only for that.

BUT I didn't have to, because the music itself, without the lyrics was just so well done!

Slightly less good: The hawkmoth song was missing some flavor, in my opinion. It started out, and I was EXCITED cuz it started so HARD and then it didn'treally deliver, I think. It kind of kept in the same range and didn't really go up, ya know?

I really REALLY liked Marinette and Chloe's relationship. The way Marinette fired shots back at Chloe, and they actually seemed to be becoming more frennemies? Amazing. I wish we would've gotten more of that in the tv show, considering earlier seasons Chloe and her character developpement, but I really enjoyed it here, in the movie

I'm happy we got to see Gabriel and Adrian actually confronting each other. Both Adrian standing up to his dad (although the timing was a little off, more on that later), AND Gabriel finding out his son is Chat Noir and the resulting Crisis. At least there was some emotional pay off there! (looking at you, season 5 finale)

NOW on the timing thing: There just wasn't enough time. I understand that they wanted to do the superhero origin story for people who aren't familiar with the show but do go to see the movie, but I feel like they just didn't have the necessary time to create the emotional tension needed for the end scene to actually hit as hard as it could have. We got to see a hint of Adrian and Gabriel's relationship, and what was shown was great! But if we had gotten a little more of that perspective and tension, it would've felt better to watch Adrian stand up to Gabe and his parenting skills. And consequently, enjoyed more of the end scene with them figuring out each others identities. Genuinely, I was happy we got at least some pay off there, but it felt too easy. (which again, makes sense due to the limited time, but I feel like they should have made choice: either the Big End Fight with Hawkmoth, OR the Origin Story. And since they did kind of set up a possible sequel, I feel like the choice could have been made)

With the feeling of too easy: I had the same feeling of Marinette and her finding confidence in herself and Ladybug AT THE END! The sudden change during the montage, I liked and felt like it made sens, since we then, during the big battle, get Marinette's insecurities over only being confident when she's Ladybug and all that. That is wonderful and so in line with the core of who Marinette is as character, no matter what version of her we get, that I love it very much. I would have enjoyed a liiiiitle more time with the Angst, but it's allright!

MOSTLY CUZ: that scene where she's dragging Cat Noir's unconcious body onto the debris of the Eiffel Tower, and she goes 'Don't. Touch. Him.' through tears and with a broken voice? AMAZING! When I tell you I Went FERAL! My children! absolutely STUNNING

The actual fight of the end battle? Marinette surrounded by flame and a Paris that is falling apart? Ladybug in Hell, essentially? GORGEOUS! Cat Noir running up the Eiffel Tower to fight Hawkmoth? Stunning! The Eiffel Tower slowly collapsing, as Ladybug watches and cannot Do Anything to stop it? HEARTWRENCHING!

Marinette revealing herself to Adrian at the ball? AMAZING SCENE! (although i laughed and had to utter 'Real Subtle, Marinette' when I saw the ladybug wings on the back of the dress, which was, againg, stunning). The way the scene was framed like the rejection scene? WONDERFUL!

The glitter on Chat Noir's mask? I loved it! Such a fun little detail we don't get in the show!

Did not like the Plagg farting scene. Just. No thanks. It's cheap comedy and that runtime could have been spent better, with a better characterisation of PLagg and his relationship with Adrian. But whatever, it's fine.

THE LADYNOIR CONTENT AND BICKERING! JUST FANTASTIC! ladynoir stans got FED this movie, and I am HERE FOR IT!

So yeah, that was an incomplete list of my thoughts on the movie! Overall I really enjoyed it! I really liked this version of the characters and their relationships. They feel a lot more genuine and real in comparison to the tv show, in some ways. I had so much fun watching it, and will probably go a second time, to see how it'll feel like on a rewatch. And just to enjoy the vibes. I do hope we get a sequel, because I am Curious. And would love more Natalie content.

Still no excuse. The show needs to end and it is too freaking late to finally change the main villain. I don't care if they had been trying to just build her up this whole time- it's too freaking late and Lila has already been outed and hated already, so she lost most of her plot armor(which was the only thing that even kept her alive and present in the show thus far).

In my humble opinion, the show needs to apologize and just end the series off with the movie- they might as well end the shitshow by giving us the only positive they have left.

I was not prepared for the Mircaulous movie to be a musical 😅 Also so much fun and soooo cheeeeeeeesy... Maybe it's the Polish dubbing, but the singing sounded pretty good to me. :D

SO I just watched the miraculous movie and I would like to say two things:

1) I really enjoyed the movie

2) it’s a very bad movie

The movie, as a miraculous fan, was fun to watch. But it’s not because it was a good movie. In fact, I think fundamentally this movie failed both as a movie, and as a movie musical.

Bad movie

The animation was absolutely gorgeous. But the writing was bad, and even looking past that (I haaaate how the beginning of the movie was like the beginning of every single kids/tween movie ever) the pacing of the movie was abhorrent. Lots of the jokes didn’t land, the moments they tried to set up cut away scenes didn’t have enough set up or flow (the back and forth of adrien telling plagg how much ladybug prolly liked him vs Marinett saying how dumb chat was, the back and forth of Alaya and Nino talking to marinett and Adrian) and felt weird and disjointed, and any time it felt like a scene was finally starting to flow, the movie would cut away to something else.

I’m just trying to imagine being a new viewer of the movie who hasn’t seen the show, and it feels like a nightmare. Gabriel is set up but somehow both too much and not enough. The final battle doesn’t last long enough. There’s a lot to complain about (don’t get me started on the fart jokes I can’t. I was in HELL).

Bad musical

The most egregious of crimes was the fact that this was a movie musical. I am sad that my friend told me it was a musical right before we started watching it because that would have been hilarious, but still. When marinett started singing I got jumpscared because I completely forgot.

Sarah Z has talked about how in musicals, when characters emotions are too overwhelming to say, they sing. When their emotions are too overwhelming to sing, they dance. Fundamentally, if you are going to have characters burst into song, that song should be led my emotions. Most of these songs felt led by a “ah this is a musical we need to have them sing a song.” That’s why the music always surprised me. The emotional buildup wasn’t there.

Yes, marinetts voice (am I spelling her name right? Oh well) sounded wildly different, but I’d be able to forgive that if the songs felt driven and not just inserted.

The other problem is: most of the songs are bad musical songs.

The greatest showman has the same problem. The songs are so bland and generic, all these “I want” songs where the character never clearly defines what they want, or sad songs about loss that don’t have any substance to them. The movie tells marinett over and over again to chase her dreams—but what are her dreams?? The opening number shows her sketchbook come to life—but she doesn’t sing about wanting to be a designer, or help others, or be able to fit in with her classmates and not endanger her life every time she leaves the house bc of how clumsy she is.

The songs sound like generic songs that would play nicely over the radio, and that means they fundamentally fail as a musical song because musical songs should drive the plot forward or deepen our understanding of the character, and most of these songs do neither.

Don’t get me wrong

I had so much fun watching this movie. I squealed at adrien and marinetts (I am so spelling her name wrong this is embarrassing but I cannot be bothered to change it I’m so tired) interactions, i wheezed over whatever the heck Gabriel was doing, I awwed over the lovesquare moments. I also LOST MY MIND at some absolutely wild moments (looking at you, careless whisper. Also at long-haired Gabriel). But the movie was so . . . vague about having any sort of message aside from “be yourself, be true, don’t be afraid, follow your heart, be a hero, saving lives is good, also love is awesome.” All true things, but how does this apply specifically to marinett? Love is powerful, but it isn’t going to save me from getting crushed by a runaway Ferris wheel, ladybug. Also, why are you singing this has nothing to do with the moment.

TLDR

It was beautiful, fun, cheesy, and bad. 10/10.

hes kind of…dorkier…than the games show him as,.. like hes a little clumsy, kinda dense, sometimes he says embarassing shit in front of white and she gives him that fa ce

i hc that trainers can ‘talk’ to their pokemon (similar to the i am groot thing in marvel, where they say like. their name or some illigetamit sound and after the trainer has them for a while, can actually understand what theyre saying) so N’s special thing is he can talk to ALL pokemon. it doesnt matter who owns it. or if its a wild pokemon. he understands them always no matter what it is (he could probably talk to arceus)

N has the power to heal pokemon. yes. without potions or pokemon center tech. this exsists in some rare individuals(like yellow in the pokespe manga) probably descends from some ancient royal family. the power is usually associated with people who live near/grew up an old forest, and is also associated with green hair (cheryl from dppt also has this power)

only white knows about this power he has, hes only shown it to her once to save her pokemon and asked her not to tell anyone about it. she never did

whoever the profecided heros of truth and ideals were meant to be, they were destined to be soulmates essentially. because they were part of the same dragon, the heroes in turn as well “complete” each other. theyre supposed to work together to fix the world when the stones were reunited, but inveitably, ended up as enemies by accident

so the first time they met in accumula they had a big fight and essentially HATED EACH OTHER LMAO.,…white thought he was a ignorant buffoon and he thought she was a hot headed bigot

nonetheless, white pretty much stuck in his head (he has no idea why. he doesnt suspect who she is) so. he seeks her out in Nacrene City because. who is she to do this to me. 

but between their previous interaction and this one, the dreamyard happened, white was actually kinda humbled by that and plus. bianca was scolding her to be nicer to people. so when she sees N again shes like ugh., okay. be nice. 

so they have another. conversation. about his image for the world about where pokemon have become perfect blah blah(hero of ideals at his finest) and he asks her if she agrees with him. we all know this scene. and shes like. ‘keep calm white’

so she takes a deep breath and answers no, she believes that pokemon are similar to people with all their flaws and attributes and should be accepted and loved the way they are without trying to make4 them perfec t.

and hes. taken aback,. because that was. a good response. facts. and this is the point where he becomes like, very intruged with her because wow he expected her to say some bigot stuff but that ws pretty good holy crap. so hes standing there with this dopey look on his face and white is

‘wow being nice kinda works’ she thinks, before blurting out “So are we gonna battle or…” and yes, they battle, she wins, and he sees, once again, that her pokemon love battling.

this is conflicting to him because ghetsis raised him with abused pokemon, so N has this false image of the world that all pokemon are unhappy with trainers. ok, i gotta talk to her more, he subconsiously thinks.

this is the point where he thinks of her differently, more like wow we could be…..friends? 

hes really nervous in the ferriswheel. hes fidgeting. why am i nervous, he questions himself, its just white. 

hes actually kind of scared of her too

the point where white thinks differently of him is (sometime, idk when) shes in. big trouble like. idk what happens shes out exploring in the dark and rain or some stupid shit but the main point is, he ends up saving her life

and hes panicked after this. “Are you okay??” and hes frantic. hes genuinely concerned. and shes genuinely confused. 

“Why would you save me?” she asks him while he walks her back to the pokemon center. hes confused at first as to what kind of question that even was, she explains “I’m the one who’s actively trying to stop you. If you wanted to achieve your dreams and get rid of me that was the perfect oppertunity, so why would you save me? I thought you hated me??”

and hes a bit shocked by this. he never hated her, ever, he explains and after a few moments of kind of awkward and embrassing silence, he tells her that he finds her interesting/likes her opinions/ideas on things/wants to know her better/likes being around her SOME SHIT LIKE THIS AND SHES “./././///./……//” like wow. hes not. so bad. 

after nacrene city N always takes his hat off when he talks to her. at first white is confused by it but. her stoutland tells her it looks like its a sign of like respect and admiration and shes like oh. ok. she thinks its kinda cute that he does that

he usually blushes when hes talking to her

compare this to when hes talking to like. prof juniper. he has the most stone cold voice. hes made of metal. and then he talks to white and suddenly hes made of flower petals

hes actually pretty nice to bianca and cheren too, even though cheren is like constantly giving him the side eye. “Why is the king of team plasma hanging out with us” “Chill young man”

her pokemon LOVE N by the way. she hates that they love him so much. she thinks they like him more than her 

N is like. really cute by the way. like REALLY CUTE

hes spent most of his life alone, with just the company of pokemon(even after ghetsis found him, he was still pretty alone) so being around white is….nice….like she shows/does things hes never even heard of before. “Hey you dare me to stand on top of these two stacks of soda cans?” “,.um…why????” hes confused by half the shit she says

“Yo dude, [slang sentance].” “White, I understood all those words seperately.” 

N is actually a genius. hes super fricken smart he just doesnt pick up on things sometimes. especially meme-like jokes and humor that depends on context of a specific movie or something he’ll stand there like “?????” [meme of that lady with all the math symbols around her head]

white is actually really smart too. shes not a genius and she does reckless shit all the time but shes very sensible below all her adventurous and spontanious ways. she just likes to have fun climbing trees and hiking through caves. biggest tomboy. 

N has the brightest smile. he is the cutest cinamon roll. his eyes are a nice shade of teal and hes just lovely i love him very much. if you gave him a flower crown he would achieve perfection

when reshiram first manifests in the fight against N and white catches her N,..,. smiles…like…its a revelation that everything that happened in his life is perfect and shes perfect and everything was meant to be and hes struggling to focus on his goals and winning the battle because. its her. its always been her and he has. strong doubts at this point already but maybe shes right. and watching this glorious beautiful girl saving the world with the dragon of truth is like the most mesmerizing and amazing thing hes ever seen 

and actually, he probably just gave up towards the end of the battle because in his mind, hes already decided that she was right the whole time, and everythign he thought he knew was wrong. 

when N leaves, white has tears in her eyes. she never wanted him to go but he needed to leave. he wanted to see the world for himself and reevaluate what he thought was true. 

he gives her his hat before he leaves. something to remember him by, he tells her. she always keeps it with her from this point. its hooked onto her bag. 

N thinks he wasnt meant to be the hero of ideals but he was. he just feels bad about what he did. zekrom chose him for a reason. N ended up helping a lot of people and pokemon while he was out…experiencing the world…

N and white have the purest and deepest relationship out of. any of the pokemon ships i like. i love them. 

N DOES DO NERDY ROMANTIC THINGS when they actually get together. he gets her flowers and chocolates and literally anything that would ever make her smile he LOVES HER VERY MUCH

The Wish concept

Let’s revisit the wish concept.

As I previously stated that the wish’s power itself are too powerful and was divided into four parts of the power.

But I realize that I don’t fully explain why I did that.

So the wish’s power itself are greatest than you can ever imagine. But we don’t know the fullest extent of it.

So, my take on how does the wish work by presenting the concept that seemed fitted.

The Monkey’s Paw concept.

As some of you guys might read the story, ‘The Monkey’s Paw’ by W.W Jacobs. (Great story tho.) The summary of the short story is that a family friend came over to the said family of three for a visit.

The family friend presents the object that looks like a mummified monkey’s hand(paw) to the family. He then explains that the object have power to grant three wishes but the wishes comes with a price.

The family didn’t believe in him. The son asked the father to wish for money. The son later died during the ‘accident’ at the work which it grants the money to the parents. The parents are grieving over their son’s death, their grief is so bad that the mother want the father to wish the son back.

After some hesitations, the father makes second wish. The knocks on the front door startled the parents. The mother registered the knocks as their son. However, the father cannot believes that whoever is at the front door is their son. As the mother went to front door, the father makes third wish. The loud wailing makes the father rushed to the front door which it was opened, showed the empty street.

The theme of the story is ‘Be careful what you wish for.’ Typically one but in the story, the monkey’s paw shows that, unlike Aladdin, is limited to three wishes but with no rules. Supposedly, the wish from MLB is like that, except with a single wish with no rules and you need to two miraculous to make a wish.

The thing is that in this AU, the wish is overpowered. By overpowered I mean the consequences of making a wish is too dangerous for it resulted into many unfortunate events. The Order want to nullified the power of the wish. They cannot remove the power completely so the next best thing is capped the wish’s power. But how to capped it? Of course they take the power and divide it into four part. The remains of the power will be the wish’s current power level. While the three parts of the power will go to a safe place.

The problem is the power is bounded to the miraculous since it served as the vessel for the power so the Order need to find new vessels for three parts of power(miraculous magic). And that’s how Marinette, Rose and Marc becomes the immortals.

Miraculous Ladybug AU: Three Immortals

The AU where Marinette Dupain-Chang is a immortal; a person that can’t die.

Marinette is one of three immortals here. (No, Adrien isn’t one of them.)

Rose Lavillant and Marc Anciel are other two immortals. (My two favorite characters)

Three immortals are very aware of the Miraculouses and Kwamis.

All three lives for a century and 8 decades.

Three kids are 16 years old when they are in training for the Temple of Guardians.

Everyone know that when you puts the specific miraculouses together to make the wish; the power itself are, however, too powerful.

The Order of Guardians(people who are in charge) decided to takes away the parts of the power to cut the power down.

They divided the power into four equally amounts of the power. The amount of power will be stay to serve as the power of wishes. The remaining amounts will go to three guardians for safety reasons. However, the guardians realized that the power, if inhabited by a person, will granted the immortality. The guardians knew that they need to be careful with selecting three hosts for the power for they can be abused.

Unsure what to do, they turned to the oracle for advices. The oracle foresaw that three person who will be choose as the host have these qualities:

One possessed an ability to leading people, making good decisions, having a creative mind and skilled to make accurate connections of the situations

One possessed an ability to making good judgments of person’s capabilities, understanding the situation, having a positive influence over people

One possessed an ability to having a sharp mind, skilled to learn the technique, understanding the strengths and weaknesses of people

The guardians went over the potential hosts (excluding Master Fu whom is 14 at that time(Master Fu is 186 years old. Before he came to Paris prior to 172 years ago, he was a guardian in training so therefore he was fourteen years old when it happened. And I decided that three immortals kids will be sixteen years old when they’re guardians in training when they become immortal during to the power granted to them. Doing the math, it will make the kids at least 188 years old! Meaning they are 2 years older than Master Fu!)) and chooses Marinette, Rose and Marc as the hosts.

The ritual (three days before the fall of the temple) went well. The newly immortals didn’t suffer any issues. But the guardians want to observed them to make sure that they’re still up for the responsibility of keeping the parts of the power safe.

But then the temple falls due to Fu’s careless mistake, three immortals escaped before the sentimonster eats them.

The power, now called miraculous magic, can heal any wounds. By I mean any wounds, I mean literally ANY wounds.

Gun wounds? No problem!

Incurable diseases? They are only incurable to these who don’t have magic to fix them.

Limbs missing? Grown them back!

Organ missing? Grown them back too!

Stuck by sharp end of the weapon? Just pull the weapon out and there you go!

Guillotined by the massive blade? All you have to put the head back in for the magic to do their thing!

As amazing as the magic can do for these immortals, they don’t forget the pain and the pain lingers. More severe the wounds/damages are, longer the pain will last.

For example, if you got stabbed by the knife, the pain would last for three days. But if you get beheaded, the pain will lasts for a month.

Not fun for three kids.

They traveled all over the world and see many things that they cannot forget. (Good things and bad things)

The color of magic that heals them is different from three immortals.

For Marc, the magic color is green.

For Marinette, the magic color is red.

For Rose, the magic color is pink.

Marinette were once the wielder of Ladybug before. She wields Fox and Bee before too.

Rose were once the wielder of Black Cat before. She also wields the Butterfly before.

Marc were once the wielder of Fox before. He also wields the Peacock before.

In one of time periods, Marc and Rose found the miraculous of Butterfly and Peacock. They are accompanied with Nooroo and Duusu.

Nooroo loves Rose. Duusu loves Marc. But unfortunately for them, the miraculouses were stolen from them.

Three immortals trusts each other very much that they’re willingly to share secrets together.

While the kwamis can sense other kwamis when they gets active, the immortals, powered by miraculous magic, can sense other miraculouses near by.
