ok dude as a Liluka shipper I am going to explain in full detail why I currently really like it but this is also like a huge spoiler for the main series. This might not be factually correct, tldr they are mirror images according to me

If you don't take anything post s3 as canon (like a lot of miraculers) then people have just been shipping it because their focus episodes have such a large tone difference it would be funny to see them interact. It's also like really analytical (like a lot of shipping) as we'd get to see how Luka would react to such an liar who's also in greaaaat terms with his sister's class AND we'd see Lila react to how much this person would like. Be hugely devoted to Marinette and believe her no matter what lie she comes up with. It'd also possible that Lila would take Luka's word a bit more seriously than Ladybug's or Adrien's as he isn't a huge celebrity or child of nepotism (we are ignoring s4 and beyond) when he gives his "just be yourself" advice (as it was a heavily implied headcanon that Lila is massively insecure, ok so this isn't exactly explaining how she could even get there in the first place but that's the gist of it from what I could remember)

If you DO acknowledge the Cerise thing then...yeah, all hopes if it becoming a ship in the traditional sense is kinda gone to dust. But coming from the fact that Lila is supposed to be the next hawkmoth, and that Luka is the only one who sees the love square in all their glory (and if not for him leaving to Brazil, possibly driving him crazy) and in that way, also being burdened with keeping a secret that the next hawkmoth of all people shouldn't know (especially one as mysterious as the person we call 'Lila' for the sake of convenience). It also has to do with the fact that Luka (and his dad, and stepmother) had learned mirakungfu to specifically fight off rouge miraculous holders (i.e. the future hawkmoth)

I've also noticed that right after Lila becomes the next hawkmoth she becomes a time travelling supervillain who works from the shadows to ultimately listen in to Ladybug's secret, find out her true identity, get her miraculous, and make the wish. If I were to add more details, the villain also had a hand accessory to which they can access points of time in the same line of events. The arc ends with a lot of speculating that our main villain would get portrayed as someone who was in the right for exposing Ladybug as someone who completely twisted the truth in front of the media, even if her true motive was revenge against Ladybug

And going by what was leaked from the new season, we see that the future hawkmoth talks to their victim which makes them accept the akuma, giving them some time to talk and giving them full agency to choose their own name, unlike how Gabriel did during his run as Hawkmoth (sidenote: I really like how this hawkmoth talks to their victims as it is similar to how the Papillon from the earliest scripts of miraculous used to act). They're supposed to resemble a person to talk to, someone who doesn't have an remarkable look, or even specified gender, as their voice alternates between male and female. The akumas are even given a different name, and if I were a character in that universe, I would have definitely speculated that the next hawkmoth is Luka Couffaine (like a paranoid idiot, I know, but my point is that the future hawkmoth presented themselves in that way, probably intended to completely contrast Lila)

Although the future hawkmoth did present herself in a different way, we know full well that she isn't. She's quick to rage if something in her plan goes wrong, she'd rather let Nooroo drop dead on the floor (seems like it) because she heard him celebrate her not reading the actual answers (hence keeping him quiet lol), she's also really impatient and we literally see her turn people into superpowered henchmen for her. It might have had to with her having the miraculous where in order to work on it properly, she'd have to understand where their pain comes from, in order to manipulate them a lot easier

I could say that Luka is placed in a similar situation, given from the fact that in order to use his miraculous effectively, he'd have to formulate plans that don't repeat the same mistake, while remembering those failed paths in order to execute one that passes. Of course, he does it for the greater good, as rather than running away and leaving the rest in darkness (which his dad despite being older than him, did), he operates along with his friends and tries to communicate with them all in order to help them fix their problems, without any sort of miscommunication. Until the time when he had to lie about not knowing the secret identities of the heroes, which was an uneasy situation for him as it also got unraveled at the end of migration (the fact that he knew, not the identities themselves). Due to this, he left with his dad and step mom and Su-han to Brazil in order to practice until the very finale.

Ok so I kinda listed their fooling points as mirror images, which are kinda interesting to ship.

Their dynamic isn't really established in canon, so we can make up whatever the hell we want! It's obvious that they're enemies (or at least on opposing sides) so they could clash (in inconvenient locations nobody would expect i.e. the sewers) and it might result into something unexpected. It's possible that Luka never gets akumatized this season as he might have learnt how to ward off akumas, which the new hawkmoth has to watch him do so, having her true intentions slip (along with her patience).

However, in the last major Luka episode, it's been shown that one of Luka's flaws is that he usually prefers to give people a chance, something Lila is infamous for monopolising. It's possible that their interactions could differ from Lila's interactions with Adrien (mostly because he's given a bit more autonomy as a charcter from Adrien...at least that's what I remember). Although this might just be a coincidence, but during an episode we see Lila with pictures of Marinette with Alya, Kagami, Sabine and Luka. Considering that fact that the former three had decided to trust her, it's possible for Luka to do so too, though this was ultimately cut short the moment she was exposed by Sabrina in a later episode

Anyways the premise of them having a heart-to-heart (without it being a textbook interrogation) would allow to deepen their characters further from the collection of tropes they have materialized to be and managed to remain unscathed in my personal opinion(I initially really hated the writing decisions they took with Cerise, but the London special got me hoping and speculating that we'd see more of Lila than her just being the plot device behind the slaughter. I have a lot less hope for Luka's writing, but the show still tried to make him interesting and uhh funny crackship yay). Although, that would take really long, as it's still a crackship that is purely coincidental and something more mid (maybe I would like it later, but now I don't) would become canon instead (which is good because this is a show for 7+ year olds, them being enemies/rivals would be better than making them a couple as it doesn't serve as an example of a good romantic relationship in real life standards. Half of the ship's major appeal is its unseriousness)

Do you like Liluka (Luka x Lila)? Personally, I can’t understand why people are shipping them at all (even Lukloe makes more sense).

If you mean Lila prior to her Cerise mess, I could see it. I am a multishipper, I can find paths to things :) not my first choice. I really liked Zolila honestly.

After the Cerise thing? Lila no longer feels like a character, just a mess of tropes.

I really think reunion is the weakest episode so far tbh. I'm particularly mad about what they did to Jeanne. giving her a "not like other girls" attitude about Marinette's questions about her love life was... iffy. also adjusting her appearance to be less feminine while altering her historical reasoning behind being executed to be about forbidden romance felt really, REALLY weird to me. the storyline as a whole felt really unfulfilling since Marinette really got nowhere with her questioning and Adrien receiving a kwagatama was just... sudden. thrown in as an afterthought. also really peeved at how Alix has been handwaved in general, even if they have to do that with time travel. feels like poor planning, honestly.

Honestly, I don’t know why people are so upset about how long it’s taking Marinette and Adrien to become a couple

Yeah, they’re super adorable and are quite literally made for each other (Yin and Yang and all that…..plus ya know, the creators LITERALLY made them for each other lol)

But right now, having them be together romantically would just seem rushed. Neither one has been given a true opportunity to get to know the other half of their love. They know each other’s alternate identity, but not deeply like they’ve spent enough time getting to know the weaker sides of each other.

I like to think back to Kim Possible

Kim and Ron were obviously endgame from the beginning. Watchers wanted their relationship to happen pretty much in the first episode. BUT IT TOOK 4 SEASONS AND A MOVIE FOR IT TO HAPPEN!!!!

They had been best friends since Pre-K and it still took 12 years for their relationship to happen!!! They knew each other’s quirks and flaws spending time together all those years, but didn’t take the extra step to see their other sides in a different light, a romantic one. Only when Kim decided that those quirks and flaws are what made Ron whole did she begin truly seeing him for not only who he is, but what he could become: not just her sidekick, but her partner.

Relationships take time. Yeah, the writers could have easily written a backstory that said they had known each other for a long time and, therefore, know everything about each other. But they didn’t. They wanted a love that wasn’t forced, but surprising. I mean look at Marinette’s face when she knew she was falling for Adrien

She didn’t see him in any romantic light until he showed her a side of him she didn’t know he had: one that was kind and vulnerable. She. Was. Surprised.

And just look at how Adrien reacts to seeing Marinette in a new light as well. Surprised.

That is love. It is not forced. It is not planned. It is not expected. Love. Just. Happens. Especially when we aren’t looking.

For Marinette, the feelings for Adrien came quickly, but have yet to come for Cat Noir, a whole other side of him she needs to learn to appreciate and care for as she does Adrien. The same goes for Adrien. He developed feelings quickly for Ladybug, but is still working on developing that deep appreciation for everything Marinette can do. This is what they are finally starting to do now!!!

People talk about “love at first sight” as if it were that easy. No one can truly love someone just by looking at them one time. That’s called attraction. Love comes when you see the hardships someone faces and how they deal with them

how they treat others,

how they act on a random Tuesday at 3pm,

and how they show love in return.

That’s why I’m excited for Adrien and Marinette to take their time and really develop those deep feeling for all sides of each other. Can you just imagine how beautiful their relationship will be and how it will change those around them, how much stronger their partnership will be, and how much stinking cute fluff we will get?!!! Oblivio was just a TASTE of what their relationship will become.

Also, I’m holding out hope that we get to actually see an Adrienette wedding/married life/them as parents. Whether it be an ending or maybe a quick trip to the future, I need it to happen 😍
