The London special gave me exactlyyyy the angst that I craved. I can't believe that THIS was what she told him.

One thing I find very interesting about the special is that Chronobug defeated Lila by making her doubt herself. By forging her handwriting and making her think there was something wrong with her plan. And we know how Lila reacted — taking it out on Nooroo until she got a chance to cool down, then immediately waking them up and transforming once more. It seems she does not have nearly as much self-esteem as she pretends to have, and very quickly felt the need to regain confidence by committing even more evil butterfly crimes.
Honestly I’m on the edge of my seat. We’ve known Lila for a long time, but we don’t actually know her at all, and it feels like meeting an entirely new character! 🦋

What if I said Gabriel not wanting Adrien to know he was Hawkmoth was him taking away Adrien’s autonomy one last time. Even if he had good intentions, he once again ripped away Adrien’s chance to have a real choice in order to keep him “safe.”

ok after watching the London special there was something Marinette said that reminded me of something Gabriel had said In Pretension and…
these scenes are parallels right…like, everything about them controlling what they want the world to think, Marinette being under the spell of the world Gabriel created V.S everyone else being under the spell of the world Marinette created with her lies……I don’t think this is just a coincidence…

when Ladybug has this look on her face, you know her super massive brain is concocting something really impressive <- will continue to be annoying about how underrated Marinette's intelligence is.
Because behind the fashion, clumsiness, and love for Adrien is an extremely smart character who constantly invents mechanisms, plans intricate multi-step operations, and can literally beat a supervillain with a spoon, some twine, and the power of friendship.

If they're going the "Ladybug is no longer a true hero but instead a zealot-level controlfreak" angle... I kind of hope that at least they're gonna use this thing they've now established about "powers working differently when used for evil" (and lets be clear, covering Gabe's ass lying to an entire planet, and controlling information on this level is evil). I want her to use her powers, and i want it to get easier. The same way that every Evil version of the ladybug powers always got what they wanted (wether its a sword, a gun or whatever). I want her power to give her the thing she wants instead of the thing she needs like they used to. I want her to slowly get used to her powers getting "easier" to use, simpler in their execution, less creative and less nuanced and pacifistic. Until she almost forgets she ever struggled with her Lucky Charms at all... Until one day she doesnt have all the knowledge to form a plan of her own again, and she realises too late that "what she wanted"wasnt what she needed, and someone gets hurt. I want her to ask Tiki why she got the wrong Lucky Charm. And i want Tiki to tell her. Cause if that doesnt happen, why establish the "powers work different when used for evil" rule at all.

Things I desperately need to know after watching the Miraculous London Special
LILA'S WISH!!!!!!!
How did Lila get the butterfly miraculous????
What's Lila's supervillain name?
...wait a minute WHAT'S LILA'S ACTUAL NAME???
Plagg and Adrien's reunion!!
What are Tomoe's plans after this??
How is Marinette going to restore all the miraculous to their original form, and how is she going to "add new features" to them???

i am OBLIGATED to give my valued opinions on the miraculous ladybug london special.
(Spoilers!!)
WHAT THE FUCK HOLY SHIT WHAT JUST HAPPENED??? OH MY GOSHHHHH
ahem well to be more coherrant:
I love the more emotional/angstier vibe of the special. It's just sosososo fitting to the occasion and I'm glad the writers were not hesitant to be dark with it.
LILA AND MARINETTE ARE LITERAL FUCKING GENIUSES. They're both on Einstein's level smart.
Mari's yellow suit was... interesting. I can't tell if I like it or despise it.
The double portal thing. Oh. I gasped out loud. THE GENIUS OH MY GOD.
Lila flipped a whole fucking table?? She would kill at boxing (literally....)
Final peak at the old animation and I don't know how to feel AT ALL. I grew UP WITH THIS SHOW. I'VE BEEN SEEING THE ANIMATION STYLES SWITCH FOREVER. But this... oh. THIS. I can't tell. (I've watched snippets of the s6 trailer and YES it is gorgeous but it will 100% take some getting used to.
I REMEMBER WATCHING THIS SHOW AS A KID. I'VE BEEN HERE SINCE THE BUBBLER. SINCE EP1. AND NOW IT'S THIS. I feel like a proud mom. I remember when Heroes Day parts 1 and 2 were the big thing-
I am very very very excited to see how Lila (as Hawkmoth) and Ladybug's dynamic will be in s6. I can assume that the whole season won't be as intense as the special, but Lila's being so smart is definitely something I hope the writers explore.
Also, I wonder how Adrien will be portrayed in s6. PLEASE THE GRIEF FROM THE LONDON SPECIAL HAS TO CARRIED ON. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T MAKE HIM IRRELEVANT AND STRIP HIM OF ANY ARC.
I fear I know the show's writers all too well, which is why I predict they'll be sidelining some important character for the sake of Mari vs Lila. Betting it's Kagami.
I KNOW KNOW IT WAS NESSESARY but half the special was the flashbacks- I wish that they could've condensed it. Don't know how so I'm settling with this one, but it just felt like I was watching s5 finale all over again.
I can't help but wonder how much shit the writers made up along the way. You CANNOT tell me that they had THIS in mind when they were writing Bubbler, Troublemaker, etc. But regardless, it works SO FUCKING WELL.
thats my thoughts =)

Got around to watching the Miraculous: London special last night and two things still bug me. 1) Minor, but.... why is this the London special when the only bits that are actually in London are rescuing Kagami and Adrien from their isolation chambers? The rest is in the burrow and Paris..... I guess they couldn't double-dip Miraculous Paris, so they used the secondary location????
2) The main thing that bugs me, though, is the GLARING plot hole that is the entire special. Forgive me if this has already been discussed when the special dropped on the 5th. I haven't checked the tags quite yet.
So, the WHOLE PLOT is because the future Bunnyxes* fade from existence and the entire burrow is shutting down due to time ending. The character formerly known as Lila made a wish, and the entire universe is being erased to be rewritten, as Sass had explained to Luka in "Ephemeral". There is no future because that universe no longer exists to HAVE a future.
EXCEPT!
The WHOLE POINT of the climax of "Re-Creation" (season 5 finale) is that Gabriel succeeded in making his wish.
Didn't- Didn't that then erase their universe and re-write it? Just as it did when Lila made her wish or when Gabriel made his originally in "Ephemeral"?
Wouldn't it have collapsed the burrow the same way that it did in the London special? Why did Alix panic this time, but not the previous one (I'm not counting "Ephemeral" since 15yo Alix wasn't in the burrow at that time)? Did the future Bunnyx(es) not disappear when Gabriel made his wish for some reason??? Was that wish somehow different???
*BTW, where did 70yo Bunnyx come from? Why wasn't she there the whole time? Does she randomly pop in-and-out of the burrow? Does Alix at other ages just kinda pop in-and-out of the burrow? Since we never see other-ages-Alix in the burrow does that mean Alix only ever really uses her powers to hide when she's 15 and again in her 20s? But not again until she's 70? How does that even work? Time doesn't really move forward inside the burrow, so shouldn't it be then filled with every Alix of every age that has ever used the burrow??? What is even going on, and what was the point of even including "grandma" Bunnyx?????
**Side note: Since I'm on a mini Bunnyx tangent right now anyway, I find it odd the times Bunnyx is used to avoid disaster vs not.
Wait MONTHS after Chat Noir is akumatized into Chat Blanc and has killed everyone in Paris; maybe the whole world, who knows?
Don't stop Gabriel making his wish in "Ephemeral"; have Sass use his powers without a holder instead.
Stop Lila from making her wish, but don't stop Gabriel from making his.
I just wish the writers had a better rule-of-thumb for Alix using her power vs not before bringing in an ever-watching time-keeper holder into the mix. -_-

Thinking about how the ladybug suit changing to an entirely different color implies how much the lie is affecting Marrinette.
Adrien had to literally work at changing his personality to make the suit change through force of will. Marrinette must feel so unlike herself right now.
And that bright yellow with the white spots, it feels so dangerous and aggressive compared to the usual red and black to me? Like Marrinette's subconscious is literally sending off warning signals.
She's lied to someone she cares so much about, over something so important, because she literally felt like she had no other choice. That lie is going to be devastating when she has to take it back. Part of her knows she's crossed such a big line with that.
And she has to go back to Adrien as Marrinette and act like their relationship is still normal.
That guilt and turmoil over lying to Adrien must be fucking unbearable.

No but like.
Marinette refusing to believe Chloé and Lila had changed for the better, and being proven right when all is said and done (at least in the short term).
In parallel, Marinette slowly learning to trust Felix despite his betrayal. Her long-standing struggle with trust in a world whose fate rests entirely upon her shoulders.
All of it culminating in Re-creation, when she grants Gabriel, her literal worst enemy, one last chance to do the right thing.
It backfiring IMMEDIATELY and MASSIVELY
Despite it all, Marinette making the very tough choice to grant a second chance to Tomoe
And to Nathalie
And, again, to Felix, who is now an active member of her team
Marinette
Just
Marinette ❤️🐞

Parallèle Episode Origines (S1) & Spécial Londres
Tumblr media
(les vidéos sont dans mon tweet)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
