Problematic Femslash Ship Tournament - Round 1
Shion Sonozaki x Mion Sonozaki (Higurashi When They Cry Franchise) VS. Ange Ushiromiya x Maria Ushiromiya (Umineko When They Cry)
Info and propaganda under cut! This will not be spoiler-free.
Problematic elements for Shion x Mion:
Incest [twincest], torture
Problematic elements for Ange x Maria:
Incest [cousin x cousin], [double] age gap (ange is younger than maria, but the older ange travels back from the future)
--
Propaganda for Shion x Mion:
You have to love twin sisters that switch places and also try to kill each other and have built up resentment towards the system they're in
Propaganda for Ange x Maria:
Ange and Maria are super adorable together, Ange is only able to cope with her bullying and lack of friends at school through Maria and her magic and her life is dull and meaningless without Maria. Also they are cute together.

How about Yandere Shion and Yandere Rena with same darling who is Satoshi's twin sister?
𝕿𝖍𝖊𝖘𝖊 𝖙𝖜𝖔 𝖌𝖎𝖗𝖑𝖘 𝖆𝖗𝖊 𝖎𝖓𝖈𝖗𝖊𝖉𝖎𝖇𝖑𝖞 𝖕𝖔𝖘𝖘𝖊𝖘𝖘𝖎𝖛𝖊, 𝖘𝖔 𝕽𝕴𝕻
𝕮𝖔𝖓𝖙𝖊𝖓𝖙: what it’s like having these girls as your yandere
𝕲𝖊𝖓𝖗𝖊: yandere, so take that as you will
𝖂𝖆𝖗𝖓𝖎𝖓𝖌𝖘: yandere content, gore, major character deaths, talks of needles
The usually sleepy village of Hinamezawa was bustling today, people from all over the village seemingly having things to do. Then again, a lot of people needed to prepare for the night of Watanogashi.
You were currently walking with Keiichi, Satoko and Rika. The plan? To demolish the new dessert menu at the Angel Mart.
“I’m so excited to try the new food! I bet it tastes super yummy!!” Satoko swooned at the idea of sweet cream pastries.
“Satoko, you’re such a child,” Keiichi laughed. Rika giggled as well, just as excited to demolish the new strawberry sundae.
You continued walking along with your friends, joking and laughing about stupid stuff, all the while pestering Rika about the Watanagashi dance she is to perform.
“I can’t show you yeeeeet! It’s a surprise! I can’t wait for you all to see how much hard work I’ve put in, ni-pah!” She grinned. You ruffled her hair affectionately.
“That’s why desserts are on me and Satoko today! You’ve been working so hard to perform, so me and Satoko have been selling bracelets to make some money! Order what you want,” you grinned at your purple-haired friend.
“That’s so sweet, thank you girls!” Keiichi exclaimed as he perused the menu. You, your sister and Rika followed suit before Shion wandered over in her uniform.
“Hi everyone, can I take your order? Oh wow, such cute bracelets girls! Where did you get them?” Shion fawned over the cute little beaded bracelets you had made, cooing at the initials for each one.
“My sister and I made them! We sold a bunch to pay for this little outing, and then we made some for each other, too,” Satoko explained smugly. Shion’s face seemed to drop a little bit at the explanation, before you pulled a small pearl bracelet out of your bag.
“Here Shion, I meant to give this to you but I totally forgot! I have one for Mion too, so if you see her please could you give her it?” You asked her. Shion’s face immediately brightened at the elegant string of beads you gave her, porcelain cheeks tinted a delicate shade of pink.
“O-of course I can! Thank you so much, this is so cute!” She jittered.
“A-as an act of good will, I’ll pay for your desserts out of my wages,” Shion declared, indifferent to your protests. Keiichi was the first to cave, telling Shion which desserts he wanted, followed by Satoko and Rika. You were still pouty when grumbling out your order, much to Shion’s cuteness aggression. She jotted the order and trotted off gleefully to the kitchen.
She clasped the bracelet to her wrist, awing at the time and effort put into it, before glaring at the bracelet for her sister. Mion had been a pain in the ass, keeping secrets and spying on her. She owed her this small bracelet. And so, she clasped Mion’s bracelet under her gloves, so thankful that her little sister loved her enough to make two.
==================================
The long-awaited night of Watanagashi finally arrived, and the town was buzzing with life. Rika had been quiet anxious, but if you didn’t know her then she just seemed to ooze confidence. Her perfomance went off without a hitch, each move being carefully calculated and executed without flaw.
She joined you and the rest of the group, bar Mion. Rena was currently cooing at the small bouquet of flowers you had gotten for Rika as a sign of a job well done. She was also sporting a small beaded bracelet; courtesy of you and your sister.
“Ohmygosh, so cuteee!! I could just gobble you up, hee hee!” Rena giggled, causing Shion to glare at her disgustedly. Who the fuck does she think she is, fawning over her little sister like that?!
“Rika, that performance was incredible! You did such a great job! Here, here’s something Satoko and I made!” You passed her the small posy as Rika grew pink, still breathless after her dance.
“Thank you so much, ni-pah! Let’s go around the stalls, I want to play some games!” Rika suggested. You, Satoko and Rika all interlinked arms and walked off, Shion, Rena and Keiichi glaring at each other.
“Actually girls, there’s something cool we found in the forest!”
==================================
They were dead. Rika. Mion. Satoko. Keiichi. Takano. Oiichi. Everyone. Shion enticed everyone to the Oyashiro shrine, filled with torture tools and drugged everyone. Mion was already dead, assuming that it was still her with her guts spilling over the tiled floor.
You had been tied to a chair and subjected to watch as each friend was brutally slaughtered in front of you.
And the perpetrators? Shion and Rena. Rena was giggling the entire time she tore off a nail or stabbed out an eye, giggling that her little sister will be kept safe from Oyashiro’s curse now that more than 3 times the amount of people have died or disappeared.
Heart breaking screams of pain and torment poured out of you, pleading with them to stop.
“What’s the matter, little sister? Are we scaring you? We’re only taking away bad people who wanted to harm you!” Shion cackled, eyes reduced to cat like slits.
“P-please Shion, R-Rena! These are our friends, that’s my twin sister! Let us go, PLEASE!” You sobbed, vomit already staining your shirt. Rena’s eyes narrowed.
“Mion was in cohort with the other big families to deal with Oyashiro’s curse. They are responsible for so much death and destruction,” Rena growled.
“Satoko was never a sister to you; she was always bullying you, ignoring you and crying to Satoshi. Your parasite of a sister is the reason why he’s gone! You were the complete opposite though; so helpful and kind and independent. Satoko had to go,” Shion cackled as she stabbed Satoko’s corpse.
“BUT WHAT ABOUT THE OTHERS?! WHAT DID RIKA AND KEIICHI DO?!” You howled and screamed, trying to undo the chains keeping you to the chair. Rena tapped Shion, drawing her attention.
“I think she’s getting too upset. Maybe we should bring her home and allow her to recover. I’ll finish up business here, and you bring our little sister back home,” Rena commanded. Shion looked back to your trembling form, spotting that you had indeed been so frightened that you had pissed yourself, small body racking with dry heaves and sobs.
“Okay little sis, let’s get you home. Big sisses Shion and Rena are here now, and we’re never gonna let anything hurt you again,” Shion cooed, injecting your neck with a sedative as you fought against your hold. Eventually, your body grew limp as Shion moved your hair out of your face.
“It will be difficult sharing her, that’s for sure. But it’s for the best,” Rena reminded Shion. Shion picked you up after unchaining you, holding you closely and petting your hair.
“No one, not even Oyashiro’s curse will take her from me this time. I’ve lost Satoshi, but I will not lose my little sister.”

Submissions open for the Siblings Tournament.
SUBMISSIONS CLOSED
Submit some siblings along with where they come from and (if you want) propaganda through ask or submit a post.
Top 6 submissions are the ones I submitted myself.
Sibling relationship must be canon. Because of this I won't be counting characters who see each other as siblings, simply because I feel like it could be difficult to confirm the canonocity of that.
Incest is banned.
All Tournaments can be found on my pinned post. There you can see the ones that have been completed, the ones that are currently running, the ones that are pending and the ones that have submissions open.

Higurashi When They Cry Hou Ch. 5 Meakashi pt. 22
Skipping ahead a bit, we rejoin Keiichi and Shion in the torture shack. Or as the manga refers to it: the Saiguden. Which I can only presume means ritual storehouse, but that's fan translations for you isn't it? All according to keikaku and so on. Shion takes Keiichi through the torture basement where at some point between last time she was here and now she decided to dispose of the bodies of Kimiyoshi and Satoko. Which seems an odd choice if her aim is to convince Keiichi that Mion is a vile killer, but hey, the bodies weren't there in chapter two, so they have to go this time around too. Shion is giving him the guided tour when gadzooks! It's Mion in the cell! Shion gives him the ol' stun gun treatment and drags him to the rack to begin his painful torment. In between reading this part of the VN and typing this I watched this scene play out in the 2006 anime. In the anime rather than stun gun him, Shion just clonks him over the head with a big rock. Which is funnier, but it's another weird deviation from the visual novel I don't quite understand.
Actually, let's a brief digression here. In the visual novel itself it describes Satoko as lying on a cross shaped table, which I took to mean just one of those X shaped torture racks you occasionally see in media featuring medieval torture devices, or a Saw film maybe. What I didn't expect from both the manga and anime is Satoko is just crucified.
Just for fun there's a million dollar Shion smile. Odd changes between the mediums but there it is. You'll just have to take my word for it about the anime though.
Also I don't know if I mentioned it in an earlier part but Shion has come to terms with the fact that she's now nothing but a demon because she failed to keep her promise to Satoshi. Also she's just plain vexed by the fact that Keiichi is a willfully blind fool for refusing to see his best friend for the vile murderer she's trying to portray her as.
Shion, pal, I really think you should have Kasai try to get you a refund for this stun gun. It seems to be pretty useless against everyone lately. Maybe you used up all the juice when you accidentally killed Oryou with it, but that thing doesn't seem to be any use whatsoever these days.
Anyway the whole business about how the demon awoke because Keiichi was an insensitive clod gets brought up, and demon demon demon demon demon demon demon demon demon.
YES!! YOU FUCKING PUTZ! YOU HAVE TRIED TO TRANSFER THE BLAME TO EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER YOU HAVE COME ACROSS IN THIS ENTIRE CHAPTER! THE ONLY PERSON YOU NEVER ONCE TRIED TO ASSIGN BLAME TO IS YOURSELF! YOU EVEN WENT SO FAR AS TO SAY SATOSHI HIMSELF WAS TO BLAME FOR SOME OF THE HARDSHIPS THAT BEFELL HIM EARLIER IN THE CHAPTER!
This character is exhausting.
Anyway Shion decides to not kill Keiichi. Because... and zaps him with the stun gun, so two seconds later she does it again and again and eventually just beans him with a giant novelty hammer that actually puts him out of action for longer than it takes to scratch your nose. She locks the door and goes back to the cells where Mion is. Where she decides to free her and takes her to the top of the corpse well.
Mion seems to realize there's no chance she's actually going to walk out of this alive so she tries to talk to Shion about her motive. Also to just completely crush her motive like a bug really.
It's kind of surprising just how easily Shion accepts what Mion says at face value. Perhaps she's simply taking it as the words of someone who knows they're dead regardless, but it's surprising how she just grabs on to the idea that Mion and Oryou aren't lying about the disappearance of Satoshi. But it does raise a good question, if Oryou really isn't behind the disappearances then who is?
But alas such questions will have to go unanswered. Shion's a demon Kaz, and as such kills Mion by zapping Mion in the head while she's on the ladder leading down the well. I like how for a split second it looks like Mion might have got through to her murderous sister only to crush that faint hope and have Shion kill it along with her sister.
Not quite the end of the chapter as yet, but we finally got a "please solve this mystery for me, Maria Usihormiya" that we didn't get from chapter two. I have to admit to feeling a certain amount of irritation when it came to this section of this chapter. I don't know if that came across at all, I can be pretty inscrutable at times. I don't know if it was just residual annoyance I felt from this section of Watanagashi come back to poison this section for me, or if my tolerance for the characters' bullshit just hit its limit. I wish to circle back to the very start of the chapter for a moment.
And this might be one of the dumbest questions I can ask, but Shion isn't the perpetrator they mean here right? I can only assume that this is referring to the one who is behind the Oyashiro curse killings, Hinamizawa, the whole damned affair. Because if it means Shion, her motives aren't too terribly complex to figure out. I just disagree with them and think they're not particularly great.

Higurashi: Massacre Chapter 8
It really feels like all the little things that have happened in the previous arcs were all necessary to bring the story to where it is now.
Keiichi was considering killing Teppei as well and he only changed his mind when he spoke to his dad about it. And he probably wouldn't have considered that if Mr Maebara hadn't told him he could back in Atonement Chapter 12.
I've joked about it several times, but Shion really is not a main character in this series. She's friends with the Hinamizawa group, but she's never been involved in the major events that have allowed them to strengthen their bonds with each other.
She's not been in the same situations where she needed to learn to trust her friends and rely on them to help her. Instead of having her personal issues that normally make her the Rule X target, she's instead been burdened with the issues that would normally be on Keiichi or Rena. She doesn't actually trust her friends, she thinks she has to handle her problems alone, and she made a promise to protect Satoko.
Keiichi and Rena managed to convince her to work with them, but I'm sure she's along more out of frustration. She hasn't come to some grand revelation about trusting and working with her friends. She's certain that killing Teppei is the only solution that will work, but she's decided that if she can't do it her way, then she'll put everything she has into doing it Keiichi's way.
And the remaining holdout is Rika who's so beaten down that she's written off this possibility before anything has happened.
Rena remembers what Keiichi told her at the end of Atonement, how they can overcome any obstacle by working together. Meanwhile, Rika forgot what she said about how you can overturn the per-established order with the power of your will.
And then Mion steps in to remind her of that. If no one fought destiny, then Hinamizawa would have been submerged.
While Shion makes a good point, I think she's saying it because she's annoyed more than anything. Shion is being forced to support Keiichi's plan so Rika has to as well.
And what finally convinced her to join was Keiichi's absurd statement about destiny. If destiny is as thin and breakable as a goldfish scooper, then what does that make Rika who has been losing to destiny for 100 years.
Rika said it herself. She has exponentially more miraculous power than Keiichi does, but he's the one who laughs in the face of destiny and tears it apart. If destiny is truly as weak as he says, then Rika has the power to beat it.
The contempt from the consultation center can be felt the moment we entered that room. It contained a lightweight desk and three folding chairs. The desk doesn't even have anything on its sides. That desk probably weighs 30 lbs/ 13.6 kg at most.
When the gang came to the center, someone in management likely had someone find an empty room somewhere and got some people to carry that desk and those chairs. And when the meeting is over, they'll come in and move those items back to wherever they're stored.
Bureaucracy is a frustrating thing to deal with. This woman likely doesn't know anything going on aside from the notes she's been given and whoever is in charge of Satoko's case doesn't know anything regarding this meeting aside from what gets written down nor do they know anything about the visit to Satoko aside from whatever that aide wrote down.
And any miscommunication between departments only make things worse. Someone put the wrong relation between Satoko and Teppei and it's only being corrected by someone who likely doesn't have any actual involvement in the case and just works in communications.
Keiichi and Rika have a strange ability to feed off each other. Keiichi can encourage Rika to believe while Rika drives Keiichi to act. The more Keiichi acts, the more Rika believes; and the more Rika believes, the more Keiichi acts.
They've finally hit a wall where they couldn't effortlessly smash destiny. But Rika still insists on believing in Keiichi. She took what her friends said to heart. Rena said if they work together then there's no miracle they can't make happen. Mion said the village was able to band together to tear down destiny. Shion said if there is no miracle, it will be because Rika didn't help. And Keiichi said destiny is thin and breakable as a goldfish scooper.
And despite everything, Rika insists on believing. She can't do anything else on her own. She's tried to beat destiny on her own for 100 years.
Since the beginning of this timeline, Keiichi has come to her aid every moment she needed help whether it be to carry her because of her hurt leg or to show her she has the strength to fight. If Keiichi gives up, then it's over for Rika and everything she loves. So she needs to believe in Keiichi.
Despite the discouraging start, this chapter ends with a functional declaration of war. They are going to make the Center bend to their demands and if they do not, they'll come at the center harder.

sorry for double asks but i'm curious about your thoughts for shion/rena and wednesday/enid!
OMG YOU DON’T NEED TO APOLOGIZE AT ALL 😭😭❤️ I love doing these omg you’re the best!!
Shiirena *holds them up like they’re precious glassware* and also yells THEY MEAN THE WORLD TO ME YOUR HONOR, their dynamic is just so interesting and underrated?? I wish they had more interactions in the original VN but what I really appreciate about Shiirena is that they’re more similar than you initially think!! Their own circumstances as well as their way of protecting themselves and those they care about share the same drive and determination, yet the way they present themselves to people behind a mask and hide their true feelings most of the time are both different with Rena and her kyute persona and Shion being more literal with taking up the whole identity of the younger twin. I love how Rena of all people has this imposing nature to Shion that she’s afraid of lol, that she realizes this girl is able to read people better than her. I love how Rena is hinted to have known she wasn’t actually Mion during Watanagashi, and that Shion wanted her to recognize her so bad. I love how they bond over beating people up 😭😭 They’re just really interesting to think about on a dynamic level for sure.
Wenclair/Wednesday X Enid!! What can I say other than the dynamic of happy go lucky golden retriever gf x goth black cat gf is superior. They were really what made the show for me and were the reason why I watched it! It’s just a shame that the directors are forcing Wednesday to be with these two much less interesting male leads instead when her chemistry with Enid is right there 😭 I really do hope that in another season they would actually go through with the ship but I don’t trust Netflix at all lmao, also the way in which in the last episode Wednesday is the one to reach out and hug Enid makes me want to jump off a bridge.

Finished The Cotton Drifting Arc, it was my favourite the first time I watched higurashi, and was amazing on rewatch. I’m a Keiichi x Mion shipper and even though the final revolved around Shion, Keiichi’s actions I think really showed how much he cared about Mion.

Higurashi When They Cry Hou Ch. 5 Meakashi pt. 17
I apologize if it seems like I'm just speeding along through some of the larger plot points that have occurred during the later parts of Meakashi.
Shion, begins thinking about the power structure of Hinamizawa, and who might be being used as Oryou's secret assassin for "the underside of Hinamizawa."
So, you know for a fact that Irie is most likely at least one of the would-be weapons for Oryou to use should the need arise. This might be flimsy evidence at best, but I speculate that Irie was the doctor Mion and Rena mentioned coming to Keiichi's house to "check up on him" way back in chapter one: Onikakushi. While there have been other minor doctors here and there throughout the story, Irie is the only one who has a character design and relevance to the overall narrative.
During her thinking about this mysterious X who does the dirty deeds for the Sonozaki family Shion decides to get the ball rolling on torturing information out of Oryou. Only wouldn't you know it? Zapping the elderly woman with an illegally modified stun gun caused heart failure and she's dead. Shion takes this poorly, because she wanted the old bag to suffer, and so she begins whipping her with a whip that has fishing hooks embedded in it so it just tears Oryou's body to pieces. Shion then takes the body and hurls it down the "man made vertical tunnel" freaking out Mion because she didn't realize her sister was just running full pelt towards outright villainy. Thereafter Shion rants and raves that Oryou had to die because she lied about not killing Satoshi, and Mion lied as well because she did nothing to save him.
Skipping ahead a bit because nothing really of note happens during the school day where Shion pretends to be Mion, other than she decides to plant the idea in Keiichi's head that he's going to be demoned away because they broke into the storehouse. Shortly after, while disguised at Mion she attends a meeting of the towns leadership where they talk about the break-in. She says the reason the curse went after Takano and Tomitake is because they broke into the storehouse.
The man saying "this is why we hate outsiders" just sounds like an angry bird. It's kind of funny honestly. Anywho:
She names herself and Keiichi as the other two who broke in, which prompts everyone including her uncle Kimiyoshi to wish them a cruel and painful death. Shortly after this Shion invites Kimiyoshi over to the Sonozaki house to discuss the issue further. There the two talk about whether Shion has to be demoned away or not. Kimiyoshi thinks that if she shows serious repentance for her actions that there's probably no reason to hurt her, after all she's a Sonozaki, and not a crumbum like Satoshi Houjou.
Thus armed with this knowledge that the three nails did not in fact save Satoshi Shion stun-guns Kimiyoshi, takes him to the torture basement and calls Keiichi to help along the growing paranoia and discord that he'll be gotten next.
Then she gets a call from the people trying to find the now missing mayor Kimiyoshi. Vowing she'll help them find him, she goes back to the torture basement to ask Kimiyoshi where he might be. Also to grill him further about Satoshi, and whether or not he's alive. He thinks he isn't, and honestly Shion should probably assume he's dead too. Shion goes to the well to shine a light down towards to see if she might be able to glimpse him off in the distance, but they dug deep, too deep, and she can't see the bottom. Previously though they said the location of the corpses was down this well, through another tunnel, and down another separate well, but details. For now you must just assume the corpse pit is at the bottom of a well dug into one of the cells of the torture basement. Shion then feels the same spiritual presence that she assumes to be Satoshi again. She briefly entertains the idea of diving down to the bottom to be with Satoshi, when the ghostly spirit of Satoshi talks her out of committing suicide.
Shion keeps changing her mind about whether Mion is a weak-willed person who can't do anything for anybody, or the cruel mastermind who watched them tear Satoshi limb from limb. It's a strange notion that she just keeps flitting back and forth between the two with zero introspection about it. Also, suppose for a moment she was Mion at this moment, I don't think she really could have actually done anything to save Satoshi. She claims that since Mion was actually there at the scene where they disposed of Satoshi she could have saved him. But when it comes down to it, this is all down to what Oryou wanted, which, at that moment was for the Houjou boy to die. Mion may be the inheritor to the family when Oryou dies, but she's just a subordinate until then, same as the rest of them. Given the extreme detail it goes into about how people would deal with whatever problem was vexing Oryou at that moment it seems really delusional that if Shion as Mion said let him go that absolutely nothing would happen to Satoshi. If the Sonozakis didn't get him right then and there, some schmoe with his fanatical devotion would've got him. Also, bless this voice actor for her intense screaming, her voice was probably in a terrible shape after having to yell and scream so much in such a short period of time.
You know who Shion reminds me of with her recent plunge into outright villainy? Cersei Lannister. Each of these characters when they are shown to be a part of the cast are always shown to be a smart, conniving, and very in control puppet master. They seem to be able to maneuver and scheme their way around many of the trials their character goes through. Sure eventually something bad happens to them outside of their control. Shion is locked in the cell and is about to be tortured to death by the person we're led to believe is Mion, Cersei sees her son die at his own wedding, and the person she believes to be the murderer escapes punishment. Only we then get a glimpse of the character from within. They become a central protagonist to the ongoing narrative and we get to see what they're thinking and makes them tick. We then see them for what they are, a collection of paranoia that propels them to make worse and worse decisions that start to spiral out of control until inevitably they lose control of the situation they're in. They're also twins who start regarding their sibling as a worthless individual, and if only fate had permitted them to be their sibling instead of themselves life would have turned out so much different. Cersei is disregarded by the society of Westeros because she's a woman, Shion is disregarded by her family because she's the second born twin. If Cersei had instead been born as her brother Jaime she could be king by right, if Shion had been Mion she could've been the inheritor to the power of the Sonozaki family. Another parallel between the two is that despite having a sizeable contingent of powerful people at their command they both waste little time in alienating themselves from these powerful allies. The only real difference is Shion so far has been more direct in cutting her ties by committing outright murder and kidnapping, whereas Cersei tries mockery and ridicule to alienate herself from the allies she needs, and failing that she then uses murder. One last one I would like to point out is their use of an apparent supernatural entity to act as a henchman for their personal motives. The demon/spirit of Hinamizawa/Satoshi for Shion, the seemingly undead revenant of Robert Strong for Cersei.

Higurashi: Massacre Chapter 10
At first, Ooishi seemed to be playing his usual role in every tragedy. He's coming into the scene and sowing doubt in the Rule X target, but Keiichi refuses to yield and Ooishi's tone instantly changes to a much more supportive one.
It's kind of wild how the memories from the other timelines are bleeding into everyone here. Keiichi realized he's never actually seen Teppei before in this timeline, and everything he's doing is actually due to his memories from Curse Killing. Rena meanwhile talks about her memories from Atonement as if they were events from her past rather than the events from a different Rena. Similar stuff has likely been happening with Shion, but she's not willing to talk about them.
One of the truly evil aspects of the Three Rules is how Rule X is developed through no malicious intents at all. Takano is a troll trying to get a rise out of people while Ooishi is just trying to figure out if there is something deeper to his friend's murder. But their actions drive the Rule X victim into a state where they commit murder.
If Keiichi didn't have the resolve to keep going despite Ooishi's well-intentioned warning, he or Shion would have fallen back on murdering Teppei after what happens the next day.
Intentionally or not, Ooishi's warning to Keiichi also came with a hint to how he could potentially resolve this issue much faster. The Child Consultation Center was afraid Oryou was secretly behind Keiichi's organization and they approached her about it.
Her involvement and opinions in either direction have a direct impact on things and at the moment, she's influencing the village to not help Satoko because of what happened during the Dam War. But if she should change her mind, then the Center can be forced to give into Keiichi's appeal.
So now it is Thursday June 16th. Just like in Curse Killing, Satoko has returned to school for the first time. But unlike last time, there is no pretending everything is fine nor any in-fighting when Satoko is away.
Everyone is fully aware Satoko is being abused at home and they need her to reach out and ask for help. But she refuses.
One other difference from Curse-Killing is Satoko goes into her panic on the same day rather than Friday.
The tragedies in each arc is tailored to the faults that each of Rika's friends has (Except Mion. Mion has done nothing wrong ever). Keiichi distrusted his friends, Rena didn't think she could ask her friends for help, Shion lost all hope, and Satoko thinks she has to endure her suffering to atone. Satoko is the only one who hasn't overcome her faults.
I bet Keiichi would also think that guy is really handsome and smart too.
Principle Kaieda pressed the Hinamizawa Syndrome power button.
We've heard a few things about Hinamizawa Syndrome but Rika's explanation gives us a good idea about what it actually does. When a person with Hinamizawa Syndrome has a fear reaction to an unknown, they initially assume it's whatever they're afraid of and they become unable to process when they were mistaken.
We can look at Keiichi in Abducted by Demons for a good example of this. When he started falling under Hinamizawa Syndrome he began interpreting every surprising moment as a sign of danger. In chapter 1, he asked Rena if she knew anything about the Dam murder and Rena said she doesn't know. Keiichi didn't expect that answer and his fears started to take over at that point.
Then every instance Mion or Rena were aware of something he thought they shouldn't be, the syndrome would make them appear to have demonic eyes and threatening tones of voice. And this culminated in him interpreting hot sauce in ohagi was actually a needle and a marker was a syringe. He could only realize the truth in a different world where he was not infected with Hinamizawa Syndrome.

Spoiler Discussion
This Devil Script is desperate to play out at this point. Initially, Shion was the Rule X target, but Keiichi has successfully saved her from that fate. So now the script is trying to make Keiichi the Rule X target. If Keiichi gives up, he or Shion or both of them will kill Teppei.
Satoko having her freakout a day early is another aspect of the script getting desperate. Normally, Satoko would have her freakout on Friday which convinces Keiichi to murder Teppei. Keiichi would spend Saturday preparing the murder and would Kill Teppei on Sunday.
However in this timeline, Satoko will be saved on Saturday. The script is throwing everything it can into derailing things because Satoko's friends refuse to give into despair.
