Minty, does Fawful have mommy issues :3
Oh, you're asking me about Fawful's mommy issues? Probably better you asked me than him, he wouldnt have liked that. Well...from what little I know about Fawful's parents, both his mom and dad didn't really seem to care that much? He REALLY doesn't like talking about it...so before he comes back I'll try to divulge in what I know.
We have like NO IDEA who his biological parents are, none. It's like they disappeared off the face if the Earth after Fawful was born, and then he was orphaned...somewhere, I assume somewhere in his home kingdom.
Whoever Mr and Mrs. Risata are, that's who adopted him. I guess they're this SUPER rich family and has a lot of investments in the Beanbean Kingdom.
I thiiiink what happened was that he was very neglected? His mom and dad wanted to use Fawful for something, if I had to guess since he's so smart...probably inheritance and political gain to get more money.
But the dear Fawf I know likes to play by his own rules! He's had enough of being a child pawn and left home one day to work under the bean witch.
Y'know....Fawful never told me how he felt about Cackletta. I assume it wasn't bad since he willingly worked with her. I wonder what she was like....
I wonder if mom or dad don't care very much about me anymore...I haven't heard from them in months.......again...
W-Wait did I say that out loud? N-Nevermind I'm sorry! Please, forget what I said!

Fuse with me (minty and shrub)
SEND “FUSE WITH ME!” AND I’LL TELL YOU | Accepting
What type of gem we’d make:  Minty (Mint Green Diamond) + Shrub (Rose Quartz) = Watermelon Tourmaline
Personality: Watermelon Tourmaline is a bundle of questions. Easily persuaded as Minty doesn't have the same leadership status as the Diamonds once had due to being created in Era 3, and Shrub was never in a leadership role only ever taking orders. Their emotions are frazzled a good majority of the time, and it's hard to calm them down when they are in a panic. Watermelon Tourmaline is much like Steven Squared, in that she will use singular and plural pronouns regularly at first because her components are still getting used to being a fusion.
Stability of Fusion: Relationship wise, Minty and Shrub have a pretty positive relationship. Minty enjoys Shrub's company and Shrub is grateful to be free from being imprisoned longer than the other Rose Quartzes. However, fusions aren't just based of relationships themselves it's also a mixture of the individuals feelings and thoughts that sometimes they share or keep to themselves... and due to that.
Minty's expectations as a Diamond in Era 3, and Shrub's era 1 mentality of being made to serve or face the consequences and the fact she is still adjusting to Era 3's way of life after being bubbled for thousands and thousands of years play into Watermelon Tourmaline's stability as a fusion despite how well Minty and Shrub get along together.
The first time that Shrub and Minty had fused was a rollercoaster of emotions... scary, wonderful and overwhelming emotions. Resulting in a cotton candy fusion, much like how Ruby rushed in to Sapphire shaking her entire world view of how fate was meant to play out.
Shrub had expected fully to be punished for fusing with another gem, and thought it would be much more severe, due to Minty being a Diamond of all the gems to fuse with, while Minty was doing her best to reassure her that she wouldn't get in trouble for fusing, regardless of if their fusing was an accident or not.
Watermelon Tourmaline has two sets of arms due to their different approach to things. Shrub is still opening up to new things in Era 3 and Minty is just going with the flow since that's all she's ever known.
Height of the fusion (in comparison to other characters):

At the site of the large crowd I groan, not willin ta make a scene I just tap one of the bunnies on the shoulder. "Heya, could we possibly get through? We're tryin ta get some tea an chocolate."
The bunny you tapped is an adorable little thing with white fur, bright minty green eyes, and patches of soft pastel blue in her fur. She blinks owlishly at you then turns to her buddies
Bunny: OI YOU DUMB SH*TS GET OUTTA THA’ WAY!!
Lol a good number of the teens wander to the next stall flipping off their buddy who returns the gesture. One starts loudly playing on his phone and distracted, she runs up to him instead
The stall owner looks pretty frazzled. The Japanese lady looks at you both wide eyed
Lady: …. The teenagers here are a lot louder than the ones back home.

Hey, I was wondering if you could do Technoblade x M! Ram hybrid s/o. Maybe the reader is known to be a bit of a slob not really by choice but he just has a hard time caring about what he looks like. And maybe he gets invited to a big Gala. And gets nervous and goes to Phil, and Phil helps him out with his outfit and stuff. And when he gets to the Gala no one recognizes him, well they do once they see the horns. And when techno does he gets confused and then flustered, maybe they dance. -idk
I am a sucker for anything with soft Techno, anyways I hope this is what you were looking for, enjoy <3
Tumblr media
Summary: You’re just so stunning
Pairing: Technoblade X Reader
Pronouns: He/him
[A/n]: Requests are closed, please check back later <3
Tumblr media
After Schlatt’s reign of terror, you found yourself being outcasted by everyone. Being a ram and having similar horns led everyone to avoiding you, they knew you weren’t him but with horns like that, they couldn’t help but think of him. This led you to hiding away from everyone, eventually falling into the arms of Technoblade, whom you lived with.
You were always grateful for him, he never compared you to other rams and never mentioned your messy appearance. Your disheveled appearance wasn’t really a choice or fashion statement, you just struggled to care about how you appeared to others, you almost never left homes anyways.
So when an invitation to a very fancy gala came around, one for you and one for Techno, you took the opportunity to show off. You really just wanted to catch Technalde’s eye, though you doubted he would even spare a glance.
You had never gone to a fancy gala before, so you went to the only person you could think of, Phil.
“Are you sure about this? I feel kinda silly.”
“Oh hush, you look great. Now grab your coat and get going, you’re going to be late.” Phil shooed you out the door, watching you climb onto your horse and ride off.
When you arrived the gala had already started, you were only a few minutes late though so there was no problem. Tying your horse and hanging your coat you quickly blended into the crowd, searching for someone.
“Hello, aren’t you stunning?” Turning around you found yourself facing Technoblade, the person you were looking for.
“Techno! I was looking for you!”
“(Y/n)? Is that you?” The piglin hybrid was frazzled, he hadn’t recognized you for a moment.
“Yeah! How do I look?”
“Really good! Not that you didn’t look good before, you always look good it’s just-” Techno cut himself off, hiding his face in his hands.
“Don’t worry about it, I understand. Would you like to dance?”
“I’d love to.”

hewwo!
since i see ppl following me and i dont want anyone to feel ignored/bad/etc, i’m mostly on spirit’s blog to fuck around with spirit saying shit to mephiles FVGBH
not sure IF i’ll be back properly (i miss character dynamics/interactions and mutuals/pplp i admire form afar), spirit’s accidentally become pretty insular and As Ive Come To Learn, im insanely frazzled by having to talk to new and old people. that being said, ive had So Much Shit planned for spirit for years that i don’t think i’d feel satisfied carrying out in private entirely. ykno he was made on tumblr so it feels right to continue therein.
in the event i Do come back it’ll likely be with the caveat that 90% of my stuff woudl be with minty (nothing. really changes come to think of it, it’s just more official than anything) and on a new blog bc i I Hate The Clutter . So Much. , spirit might poke at people (if allowed) but im not goood at plotting or talking, so it would just be a disservice to my writing partners
all this to sya, if you follow me and i don’t reply, then don’t take it personally!! honestly it’s insnaely likely ive seen u around already and think ur cool, i just struggle a lot with . Talking

X
Things were awfully awkward the next day. The whole morning, it seemed, Cedric was dodging the girl left and right. At breakfast he was quiet as he picked absentmindedly at his scrambled eggs, and the whole walk to Potions Class he was silent, too. To be fair, the girl wasn’t doing much better. Through their words, or lack thereof, they seemed to come to the mutual mental agreement to not acknowledge what had happened the night before. After all, it wasn’t as if either could even find the words to say about it. And so, as they entered Professor Slughorn's dark little classroom, accompanied by only a select few Hufflepuff and Slytherin qualifying N.E.W.T. students, the only sound to be heard was the pattering of footsteps and bubbling of liquids within the set of large black pots before them. One potion in particular, front and center, seemed to beckon the girl with its enrapturing scent. She swore, almost, that the students around her seemed to have the same thing on their minds as they huddled close at the front of the cavern-like classroom. The issue didn’t dwell on her mind long, however, as the burning sensation of someone’s gaze went searing into her cheeks from the left and distracting her at once. Draco Malfoy, with his snow white skin and icy eyes, looked miserable as ever as he turned his attention swiftly away from her on sight. Try as he might, there was no hiding the look of mild frustration that seemed to reside on the curvatures of those high cheekbones and bent lips. The girl’s eyes narrowed with contemplation as she turned her head slowly away from the boy, at which point the fresh face at Hogwarts, Professor Slughorn, came waddling out of his supply cabinet. He wore a cheshire-like smile as he beamed at the young faces before him, and his sparkling eyes did a double take when they fell on Y/N.
“My my,” he seemed to gasp, “I know that face!”
The girl’s stare went flickering confusedly over to Cedric on instinct, and she found he was looking questioningly right back at her with those huge, kind eyes.
“M-me?” she stammered, her brows knitting.
“Why of course, miss Y/L/N, daughter of Y/M/F/N Y/M/L/N,” he scoffed, waving his hand through the air as he went teetering over to her.
“You knew my mother?” the girl asked, quite aware that all eyes were currently on her.
“Yes of course,” he babbled, making a detour to a nearby shelf, upon which were dozens of golden framed photos. “Brilliant witch, and the most beautiful spirit,” he muttered joyously, bringing one of the pictures along with him.
The girl’s heart sunk as she realized what the picture frame contained; a photo of her mother and father beside a notably younger Professor Slughorn. The three of them wore huge white grins as they waved giddily at their picture’s taker. As the photo began its magically induced re-loop, she found her throat closing up with hurt. Slughorn barely noticed, as he was too busy using his thumb to brush off the particles of dust that coated the frame’s edges. He spoke more to himself, as he continued.
“You look so much like them, you know. And your father, he was one of the great’s, too.”
There was no stopping the sudden flush of red to her cheeks, “my father was a terrible man who sold himself over to Lord Voldemort.”
Her classmates flinched backwards at the name, all except Draco, it seemed.
“Yes,” her teacher nodded, raising his gentle gaze to her, “and great he was, ever the same.”
She felt her heart pounding hard against her chest as she looked back at the professor, understanding his point but disliking it nonetheless. His next words, however, redeemed him.
“No matter. I already know by the yellow of your robes and the fierceness in your eyes that you’re all your mother’s.”
It was true. Her mother had been a Hufflepuff, like her, and the girl had been told many a time of her ferocity. Being that she admired her so, the girl had no doubtedly been relieved to have been sorted into her mother’s house her first year at Hogwarts, and to wear her yellow colors proudly, as opposed to her father’s emerald ones. And her ferocity? Well, that was something she actively sought to portray, something she wanted the world to remember.
“Anyways,” Slughorn’s voice interjected her thoughts, “I am sure I will be seeing more of you, but enough chatter for now, we have work to do!”
As the class all clamored in reaching for their books, she couldn’t help but to feel a lingering weight on her chest. Keeping her eyes steadily forward, she denied the oncoming glance of her friend beside her, and chose instead to hold her teeth tight together, so hard it hurt. The sound of Cedric’s voice came swimming into her ears slowly as she regained focus.
“....amortentia,” he explained, “the strongest love potion in the world.”
“Correct, my boy!” Slughorn exclaimed. “And what else?”
The girl’s eyes settled on the cauldron they discussed, the one that seemed to lure her close. A curl of attractive pink steam danced from the potion’s surface, and it smelled of rain, chamomile, and something else. Was it a cologne of some sort? No, no it was almost minty. But then there was the cologne again. Perhaps it was actually both, she realized. Either way, it was indistinguishable to her.
“Amortentia smells different to each person, Cedric was continuing, “its scent changes according to what attracts a person. For example, I smell grass, and honey, and-”
The boy seemed to go suddenly still, like a thought had gotten glued to his tongue.
“Lavender,” he finished ever so quietly, his face going suddenly very red as he turned his nose to the table.
There was just a second's hesitation before the girl realized what it was exactly that had him flustered, and she soon found her own face burning up as she moved her eyes glossily away from her friend. Nobody in the classroom understood the implications of his last word, of course, though it certainly didn’t prevent a series of giggles from onlooking girls in the class, who batted their lashes at Cedric. Dismissively, the girl scanned her surroundings, surprising herself when her eyes came to a halt. On the opposite side of the dungeon, Draco Malfoy’s snow white skin had gone, for whatever reason, warm with pink. His big eyes were on Cedric first, and then Y/N. When he caught her looking he frustratedly let out a grumble and turned his nose into his potions book, which he now suddenly seemed very interested in. Next to her, Cedric did the same thing.
“This, however,” Slughorn said, moving swiftly along, “is far more valuable.”
The professor lifted a tiny vial into the air. Within its glass was a gleaming gold fluid that swished merrily around.
“Felix Felicis,” he beamed.
“Liquid luck,” Cedirc echoed, earning himself an appreciative nod from the professor.
“It shall be awarded to the student who can most perfectly produce an acceptable Draught of Living Death,” Slughorn challenged. “Though I shall point out, however, that only once did a student produce a potion of sufficient quality to claim this prize.”
All eyes were on Slughorn, now. Most notably, Draco’s seemed to gleam with want. The girl knew exactly what she wanted the little vial for, of course. With quidditch tryouts just around the corner and her confidence practically underground, the potion was just the thing she needed to do the trick. And so, for the next hour or so, she and her classmates slaved tirelessly over their cauldrons. Unsurprisingly, she wasn’t all too successful (her potion was a sickly green color), but it seemed nobody else was, either. Likely the only student to get even a little close to the potion’s desired results was Cedric, who earned quite the eye of appreciation from Slughorn for both his skill and charm. Close as he was, nobody seemed to produce a viable enough draught to earn the glittering vial, which Slughorn assured them all was to be expected.
“We shall have to see if one of the Gryffindor or Ravenclaw students beat you to it!” he chortled at the end of their lessons.
As the students all began their miserable shuffle out of the room, the professor called out to Y/N and Cedric, beckoning them over. As the girl dragged her feet back towards the little round man she sped hastily past Draco Malfoy, her quick stare earning her a frazzled glance from the boy, rather than his standard disgusted ice blue daggers. She cleared her throat and pressed on, stopping at the front of Slughorn’s classroom.
“I’m having a bit of a student-teacher social at the end of the week,” he said excitedly. “I do hope the two of you will join me?”
Well, that had been unexpected. The intent seemed obvious, of course, but strange. Apparently the professor was picking favorites and not being all too shy about it. Cedric agreed jovially, of course, while the girl followed his acceptance with a slightly more begrudging nod and tilt of her lips. Her mind was preoccupied with enough things as it was. For starters, there was the night before, and then there was the amortentia induced confusion, the loss of her much needed liquid luck, and now this. As she made way into the halls, Cedric opened his mouth to speak to her, for the first time that day, she realized.
“The Slug Club,” he sniggered, “funny, right?”
“For you, sure,” she said dismissively, stuffing her hands into the pockets of her robes.
“What’s that mean then?” the boy arched a perfect brow at her, but she paid no attention.
“It means you’ve actually got something to offer,” she shrugged. “Me? I’ve just got some dead parents in a photo frame.”
“Don’t say that,” Cedric snapped in her defense.
She just kept walking.
“Hey.”
A firm and large hand came to her shoulder, stopping the girl.
Cedric towered over her, looking infuriatingly handsome under the still-summer sun. He chuckled weakley at her, his cheeks erupting with little dimples.
“Sick of you underselling yourself,” he half laughed half sighed, tilting his head at her.
“Ced,” the girl grumbled with embarrassment as students passed them, unable to hold his ocean eyes to her own.
“You’re incredible, I mean it!” he raised his voice and gave her a little squeeze, making her all the more flustered. “If you don’t believe it, then don’t go to Slug’s little mixer.”
“Oka-” she started.
“And neither will I!” he flashed his white teeth attractively as he cut her off.
“Oh for Christ’s sake,” she snorted, unable to resist his foolery.
“So you’ll go?” the bronze skinned boy perked up, picking up his pace as the girl now struggled to get farther away from her increasingly supportive friend.
“Wear something ridiculous and I’ll consider it!” she called over her shoulder as she hurried towards the courtyard.
Cedric had two thumbs high in the air when she turned, “I was planning on it!”
The girl laughed. It seemed all was back to normal.
That was, for about all of two seconds. For no sooner had the girl entered the courtyard than had a piece of paper come fluttering through the blue sheets of the sky and right towards her. The paper had been folded neatly, shaped like a little bird. If it hadn’t hit her smack in the nose, she may not have even realized what it was. The girl gasped in surprise and caught the parchment swiftly between her nimble fingers, unfolding its crumpled exterior in her opened palm whilst sporting a look of utter confusion.
The words had been written in a dark green ink, the same color as the fir trees in the Forbidden Forest, or at depths of the Great Lake.
𝐿𝒾𝒷𝓇𝒶𝓇𝓎. 𝟪𝓅𝓂. - 𝑀
The girl snapped her eyes up. Across from her, a little ways away, Hermione entered the courtyard. Her hair was bushy and curly as ever, her brown eyes wide with curiosity as she looked first to the girl and then to the paper in her hands. Frantically, the girl stepped herself into little circles, looking for the adressor of her note. M? For a moment it had confused her, and then, when the answer surfaced in her mind, she had only found herself all the more confused. What on earth could Draco Malfoy want with her? Had he not made it blatantly obvious the night before that the answer to that question was nothing whatsoever?
Her eyes darted around the faces of students in the vicinity, some walking in chattered huddles, others fountainside enjoying their time basking under the golden sunlight, and more yet flooding to and from the exposed halls. But Draco Malfoy was nowhere to be seen.
“Well, what is it?” Hermione asked, meeting Y/N in the centre of the cobblestone clearing.
She extended an arm, offering her friend a sandwich stuffed with greens.
It had been their tradition to meet during their occasional breaks for years now, the two frequenting the courtyard for chats during the few minutes of peace they could acquire. Hermione escorted the girl to a vacant stone bench nearby, the two girls sitting down upon its flat cold surface. The girl folded her legs up onto the platform and stuffed the parchment into the folds of her robes as she cracked open a chilled pumpkin juice.
“Nothing,” she lied unconvincingly, taking a big chomp out of her sandwich and chasing it shortly after with a swig of pumpkin juice.
Hermione had one hand in a bag of salted chips, which she abandoned without hesitation to go snatching at the girl, who bent swiftly out of her friend’s way.
“Hey!” the girl sniggered, batting away Hermione’s advances.
“You’re an awful liar, you know?” Hermione scrunched her nose with a curious smirk.
The girl stared widely at her friend, giving her a ‘well-you’re-not-wrong’ look as she reluctantly leaned in closer, her voice dropping.
“Draco wants me to meet up with him,” she whispered, like the whole school would implode if anyone were to hear her. “Tonight, in the library.”
“Oh Y/N,” Hermione frowned thoughtfully, “you know you really shouldn’t.”
“And why not?” the girl leaned back.
She tilted her chin up towards the glowing sun and enjoyed the freshening of the warm day’s breeze. The wind rustled around her, making strands of her hair dance against its gentle flow. Around her, birds chortled in conversation, and the nearby fountain gurgled out gigantic spurts of clear water.
After giving herself a moment to think, Hermione responded, “there’s only trouble headed that way.”
The girl opened one eye to look at her concerned friend, “and how would you know that? You’re the one who said he’s not even a death eater.”
“Well, yes-” Hermione began with mild frustration. “But death eater or not, he can’t be trusted.”
She wasn’t wrong.
As much as she didn’t want to hear it, her friend had a point. Draco Malfoy had done little the last five years of their lives other than torment the two of them, as well as his nemesis, and her friend, Harry Potter. But the adrenaline that came with investigating her curiosity of the snow-white boy was on a ravaging incline, and nothing was going to stop her.
She didn’t need to say the words for Hermione to know, just by looking at her face.
“Just, be careful,” her friend advised with a defeated sigh.
“O’course,” she answered with a wink.
Hermione relaxed her shoulders, “you sound just like Harry, you know? He hasn’t given up on his little theory of his. What d’you think he’d say about this?”
The girl blinked dumbly at Hermione. She always did know exactly what to say.
“Dunno,” she stretched out her legs, “which is why you’re not to say anything of it to him. Or Cedric.”
“Cedric?” Hermione asked.
“I dunno,” she waved a hand through the air, “he wouldn’t like it. And it could come up some point at Slug’s event.”
“What?” Hermione asked, confused as ever.
The girl finished off her snacks before continuing.
“Slughorn has a little favorites club, and he’s throwing us all a get together of some sort this weekend.”
“And why would I be there?” Hermione raised a quizzical brow.
“Because,” she beamed, “you’re Hermione Granger. And you’re smarter than most all of us students combined.”
Hermione’s ears reddened as she gave her friend a little smile.
“I’m headed there next,” Hermione dismissed her friend’s comment bashfully.
“Good,” the girl said, gathering her belongings. “Tell the boys I say hello, will you? And good luck with your draught.”
“My what?” Hermione voiced.
The girl laughed secretively as she turned, raising a finger to her lips as she grinned at her ever bewildered friend.
. . .
She’d almost tripped on her toes rushing out of the Great Hall that night. Feeling too nervous to eat, the girl had managed only a few bites of dinner before abandoning her golden platter entirely. She had felt a little ridiculous for feeling nervous, really, but how could she help it? Across the hall there had been an empty seat where Draco usually sat beside Crabbe, Goyle, and his other goons. Whether he was already at the library or off wandering corridors again she had no idea. Over at the Gryffindor table, Harry had yelled out the girl’s name, gaining her attention for enough time for him to raise into the air a little vial. Realizing the contents of his container was none other than the Felix Felicis, she’d mouthed back a “what the hell!?” to the boy-who-lived and an incredibly grumpy Hermione who sat beside him. On her right, Cedric and her friends were growing increasingly aware of the girl’s out of the ordinary manner. Tense, the girl had cleared her throat, claiming she needed to obtain a Herbology book, and flown away from her spot, under the glittering floating flames, and out of the Hall.
Her mind was thick with fog as she dragged her feet around corridor corners before reaching the Library. The girl entered slowly, her eyes making way over the massive room and its many oak framed shelves that touched the dome like ceiling with their tops. It was quiet, unsurprisingly. Few students were concerned with study at  approximately eight o’clock on one of the first nights of the school year. Still, just to be safe the girl had made her way into the darker and mustier back corner of the Library, where there was minimal lighting aside from a few hovering gas lights. Only a few students inhabited the area nearby, but they were uninterested as the girl passed cooly by them and approached the nook space crammed between the two back shelves. As Draco had been nowhere in sight, she’d gone looking at the books, her fingers skimming their dusty spines slowly as she read their titles. It seemed, mostly, that they were on healing based learning.
The girl extended a hand, gently wiggling out a black leather book on charms out of boredom and almost dropping it entirely when she caught sight of a set of blue-grey eyes staring back at her from the other side of the bookshelf. She’d released a little yelpish gasp, drawing the attention of nearby students.
Draco’s hair was slicked smoothly back, not one hair out of place on his head. His lips were set hard with seriousness, his startling bright eyes holding a similar sense of firmness in them. The lamplight casted shadows over every detail of his perfectly carved face. The boy cleared his throat and turned away from the girl, speaking his almost inaudible words into the yellowed pages of the book he held rather than to her.
“Hello,” was all he said.
Oddly it seemed like that took a lot out of him.
She’d stared at him for a few seconds in bewilderment before mimicking his action and turning her own nose into her charms book. The pages had spilled open onto an enchantment for serious wound healing injuries.
“Still refuse to be seen talking to me then?” she worded flatly back.
Draco lifted his piercing gaze momentarily to hers, his lips curled downwards with upset before he resumed his idle stare of his book’s text.
“It’s for the best,” he uttered. “For you, too.”
Nearby, a few lower year hufflepuff students had raised their heads, but sunk them back into their studies when nothing seemed to happen. The girl waited for their looks to pass before replying.
“Alright,” she admitted half heartedly.
Not knowing what else to say, she stayed quiet. Apparently, Draco was having a similar internal struggle. There was a good half of a minute of utter stillness between them, the only sound being that of the rustling of nearby papers. As far as she was concerned, this was in the boy’s hands entirely. She’d reached out last time, only to be shortly stomped out like a fly. Now, if he wanted to do the talking, she would let him do the talking. All of it.
She lifted her eyes. He was already there, his huge ones glimmering back at her. They were flickering left and right over her stare, like he was trying to read her from the outside in. Feeling the pressure of his gaze, she turned back to her healing enchantment. Draco edged his way closer, leaning his shoulder against the shelves. He raised a hand to his ear, using his long fingers to fidget nervously against his cheeks.
“Was it Potter who told you?” Draco whispered at last.
“Told me what?” she said without addressing him.
Now it seemed like he wanted her to look, but she didn’t give him the satisfaction.
“Was it him? Was it him who told you to keep tabs on me?” he mouthed with a twinge of frustration.
The girl felt her body go hot with rage, and she made no effort of concealing the bitterness in her sour toned reply.
“Bold of you to assume anyone would care enough to ask me to keep tabs on you, don’t you reckon?”
His eyes were on her again. This time they were upset. She didn’t care.
“And anyways,” she pressed on, “are you insinuating that it would’ve worked? That I would be willing to play someone’s puppet to spy on you, and that you, Draco Malfoy, would have let me?”
Draco’s white skin paled further, his lower lip trembling as he prepared his response and leaned close into the bookshelf that separated them. He said his next words slowly, his reply coming slow and sharp like a pointed blade making a clear entrance through flesh, “where am I now?”
Her beating heart went still in her chest, her aggravated demeanor regressing into something softer instantaneously. The implication behind his words sunk into her skin and electrified her blood.
Where am I now?
She just stared at him. The look in his eyes was like one she’d never seen before. It was genuine. Genuine and raw. And pleading, almost.
His words swam fast laps around her mind, making her dizzy. Unable to process whatever emotion it was that had crawled its way from his lips and into her, she rejected it.
The girl slammed her charms book shut abruptly, making heads turn. Draco flinched back in surprise as the girl made her not so discreet march around the shelves and towards him. He moved smoothly in reply, his shoulder lifting from its slump as he stood straight and tall, his white brows knitted against the creases of his forehead. There was a hot fire roaring in her chest and she had no intention of quelling it as she planted her feet firm before him, tilting her chin up so that she could reach the view of those alarmed grey eyes.
“For your information,” she hissed between her teeth, “nobody told me to because I told myself to. I saw something different in you. Me.”
Draco clenched his jaw, hard. So hard she could see its pulse against the lower curvatures of his face. He wore the look of a wounded animal, plus a sort of sneer.
“Why?” he leaned closer, the word like salt on his tongue as he towered over her. “Hm?” his voice inclined in challenge.
They’d never been this close before, and it was terrifying. But the shockwave of about ten different emotions had slapped the girl up and she’d decidedly chosen to ride its high.
“Funny,” she felt her own teeth grind roughly against each other, “I was just asking myself the same thing.”
He was hurt by her words, she knew that much. But rather than show it he simply receded as would be expected, turning instead to rage. His eyes narrowed with distaste as he scoffed and spat his reply with a shake of his head.
“Tell Potter to try again.”
“You’re a fool,” she retorted.
“Am I?” he snapped back. “It’s not me who's got a moron and a mudblood for a best friend is it?”
They weren’t all too discreet now. Eyes from all across the library watched as the two had their less than silent quarrel. The girl, practically alight in flames, stared daggers into Malfoy, who stood smug over her and had sunk his long ring-clad fingers into the emerald green folds of his robe. He gave her a sour smile, the sickly kind of lopsided one that a bully would, and leaned down so that their eyes were level.
“Nothing else to say?” he dared.
That’s when it occurred to her. That’s when she’d noticed. Being as close as they were, Malfoy’s aroma had hit her nostrils hard, and the dark cologne and fresh mint that wafted from his slender frame went first to her lungs, then her brain, then her heart. She knew that smell. She’d recognized it from earlier in the day when it had wafted forth from the amortentia. The realization shocked her into a stillness that made her face drop and pulse pause. How it could be that the boy she loathed beyond measure could have such an effect on her? She was unsure, but it had sent her mind spiralling into all kinds of oblivion.
Draco seemed to notice, his brows lowering just a little, his tone softening ever so slightly, “well?”
Her heart had fired back up, now galloping in her chest as she sucked in a sharp breath and let out a pathetic wordless stutter.
“I- I have to go,” she mumbled, her fingers trembling as she clutched the leather bound charms book tight to her chest.
Draco looked disappointed. Maybe because he cared. Or maybe just because he enjoyed a good fight. Either way, the question was left unanswered as he regained his composure, aligning his shoulder stiffly upright and letting his mouth hang slightly upon in wordless confusion as the girl practically bolted out of sight in a flash of black and gold. He stood there, sitting in the silence as the eyes around him went slowly back to their papers. But he just continued to stand there, even a minute later, and a few minutes after that. Many minutes later, finally, he made his slow and quiet descent out of the library.
. . .
Outside, the girl had flown down corridors and up stairs, her boots chasing the beat of her racing heart. Her smooth hair whipped fast around her eyes, which burned a light crimson and stung her lightly. The events of the last few minutes were playing in her mind like tapes as she went, over and over. And they would continue to do so long into the night. For hours after disappearing up to bed she’d lain on her back and just stared holes into the high ceilings while she thought. It had reached the early hours of the morning when she’d decided; if Draco Malfoy wanted to be taken down so badly, maybe she would be the one to do it after all.

💚Starlow and Limelite the Star Sprites💛
[The free spirit and the serious worker]
Two years ago, Limelite was tasked to come down to Earth to deal with the blorbs situation. She did a lot of research to know the cures, and that Fawful was responsible. However, Starlow, who was eager to visit Earth to be free from otherworldly responsibility stole the task from under Lime's nose and went instead.
Limelite is the more accurate representative of the Star Sprites as she's extremely serious about her job and doesn't take shit from anybody xD has a grudge against her coworker and Fawful himself. Generally polite and task efficient but personal beef and her sassy side can distract her sometimes.

Minty has gotta be my favorite OC I made these past couple years. She’s probably the first character you think of when you see my username haha..! I’m proud of how she’s evolved from this stammering, shy, awkward bookworm-type character to this girl who's capable of doing so many great things but she holds herself back for the people she cares about and likes to solve things in more peaceful ways rather than violence. I could go on and on about her, and I’ll probably talk about Minty more someday but there was a different point to this post. My friends really seem to like her…and it makes me flustered in a good way! It’s more fun for me if I have a character that other people enjoy a lot rather than just me, it helps bounce ideas around and it’s part of the reason why Minty has grown on me so much. At first she was created to help distance myself from using my sona directly (because yes Minty Frazzles used to be a story about shipping myself with Fawful hehehe) I much prefer using Minty than my sona, she’s got some of my personal traits but at the same time she’s different. A lot braver than I am personally…I wish I had some of her more badass moments LOL. The cool part about having OCs is interacting with your friends and their OCs like little playdates! Minty would bring her art supplies and pillows to create a little fort to hang out in all day. I know I was kind of everywhere today, but that’s what you get with me, you never know what you hear until next time…tomorrow at noon!

Characters: Ralph Angel Bordelon x Black Female Reader
Content: Smut | Sex Toy, Overstimulation, Teasing
Tumblr media
So fine. So, so, so, so, so, so fine.
Just getting to look at Ralph was always a treat. A blessing. Watching him work was intoxicating. And with your hormones all over the place--your body screaming to be filled with something--watching him work was damned near aggravating. Frustrating!
It was Friday. Finally.
Blue was with his mom for the weekend and you would have Ralph Angel all to yourself. You pulled into the dirt driveway with dinner in the passenger’s seat. Ralph was directing the farmhands in something--you never knew what. There was always something new and different going on with the Borderlon land, you could never keep up. The sun--soon ready to switch shifts with the moon--illuminated Ralph and the other men and women. You smiled at the sight, and Ralph briefly looked over his shoulder and smiled back.
You put the takeout bag on the counter and made your way upstairs. Goodness knows you needed a shower. But not yet. You knew there was no use. You got naked, took a hot bird bath, and closed the bedroom curtains. But you pulled one back a little to watch Ralph Angel walk through the cane fields--observing every little thing that stood out to him. Your right middle finger and thumb squeezed your right nipple until it hardened. Your nipples and brain united to awaken your core--the spongey flesh tightening.
Eventually, you climbed onto the bed and waited for Ralph to come inside. Your legs spread, you rubbed circles around your clit until your personal lubricant oozed out, coating the pads of your fingers. Quickly, you grabbed a towel from the linen closet, placed it on the bed, and laid back down. Then, you reached into your nightstand and pulled out your Satisfyer. The plan was to edge yourself--to get yourself riled up for him--but damn, could that thing take you there--even when you didn’t want to go. You could have pulled it off your clit, but the temptation was too irresistable. You dropped the toy to the side and went back to rubbing circles around your aching clit.
Finally, you heard the front door open. There were a few heavy footsteps but they stopped--Ralph taking off his work boots. He walked toward the kitchen but stopped again. This was how things typically went:
You would be in the kitchen, setting up the table. Ralph would walk in--sweaty and a little smelly--not a strong, revolting scent. Just “the smell of outside”, as you and all of St. Jo’ would say. He would wrap his arms around you and you’d tell him that he stinks and fan him away. Then, he would smack your ass and run upstairs for a quick shower. Today, you wanted the sweat. And you wouldn’t mind the smell. You were that hungry for him.
“Babe?!”
“I’m upstairs!” you shouted, trying to sound normal.
Soft thumps ascended on you, and Ralph Angel appeared in the doorway and smiled. He leaned against the frame.
“This why you ain’t got my dinner on the table?” he asked, grinning.
You closed your legs and shrugged. “Well, if you want me to go downst--”
“Nah, nah,” he said, putting his hands up. He walked toward you and stared down--eyes drinking in every inch of you.
“Go wash your hands,” you commanded softly.
Ralph Angel walked out of the room and lingered in the bathroom for a bit. He returned with clean hands and less clothes--now down to his undershirt and boxers. He sat on the bed beside you--bringing in the scent of minty body wash. Damn, you should have told him he didn’t need to wash up. But you didn’t mind the smell circling your nostrils.
Ralph reached between your inner thighs and rubbed the pads of his index, middle, and ring fingers over your clit. You winced--his touch stronger than your own. His dark eyes fell beside you and onto your Satisfyer.
“Look like you don’t need me...”
Your bottom lip fell. “But I do.”
As he rubbed your clit, the two of you stared into each other’s eyes for what felt like an hour. But surely, it was only a few seconds.
“Sit up,” he commanded. His voice softened. “Let me get behind you.”
You sat up and let Ralph climb behind you. Then, you fell back against him--your elbow grazing the hardening dick that sometimes rested over his right thigh. He planted a kiss against your ear. His hands traveled your thighs, up your belly, and cupped both breasts.
“My lil’ Princess...” he mumbled. “You like bein’ nasty for me?”
“Yes,” you moaned, your legs spreading involuntarily. Your pussy begging to be touched again.
“You sure about that?"
“Yes..." you hesitated. “I'm sure.”
“Hard to believe with you cummin' without my permission...”
Ralph grabbed the Satisfyer and pressed the opening against your clit. Your body convulsed and your thighs snapped shut.
“I'm sorry!” you mumbled.
“Open your legs,” he commanded. Softly.
You did as told and Ralph Angel pressed the power button. Then, you heard the "click, click, click" of the increase button.
“Ahhh!” you screamed. “Baby! Baby!”
“Just relax...” he whispered in your ear. He placed a soft, teasing kiss against the back of your ear as you panted and squirmed. Finally, he wrapped an arm around your body to keep you still. Your eyes rolled back and your body tensed as all the blood and fire rushed to your swollen bud.
“FUCK!” you cried. Still, Ralph did not move the toy. Water fell from your eyes and gushed from your aching pussy--and Ralph was as cool as a cucumber. “Velvet! Velvet! Velvet!”
Velvet--a reference to the fancy lamp shade you'd owned since you got your first apartment. He pulled the toy from your body and you fell limp in his arms--your legs shaking like Jell-O moving down a conveyor belt.
“Sit up.”
You took a few breaths, then sat up.
“Ass in the air.”
Quickly, you got on all fours--elbows resting in the comforter, your wet pussy cooled by the bedroom's mild temperature. You looked over your shoulder just in time to see Ralph Angel behind you--his hard dick in his hand. You turned back around and rested your forehead on the back of your hand, catching a few more seconds of rest before feeling the head at your entrance. The teasing burn set your entire body ablaze as Ralph Angel buried himself inside of you.
Both of you gasped.
“Wait...” you whispered, fingers pulling the thick fabric beneath you.
“Wait, what?” he asked. He kissed your shoulder and dragged his dick along your walls. “Wait for you like you “waited” for me?” At that, he slammed back inside of you, making you droop forward, melting into the bed.
Ralph Angel took his time. Teasing you. Your ass needed to be smacked and he knew it--but he rested his hands on your hips instead. Your pussy gripped him, begging to be pounded--but he slowly dragged himself away, as if drizzling honey from a dipper and intently watching it cover a hot biscuit. You pushed back against him and he extended you his grace--but showed you no mercy.
As the sun continued setting and the food got cold, Ralph Angel stretched you wide and filled you deep. Reminding you that not even your most prized toy could make you reach heaven and touch the stars like he could. Your fibers and stitches and nerve endings were frazzled--orgasm number three, orgasm number four. Satisfied that you'd learned your lesson, he left his seal on your cervix, and dared you to repeat your infraction.
You would soon.

2! - 👑
baby vee on the loose in just a diaper
vote from this concept voting post!
warning: this includes tickling and light teasing and is INCREDIBLY adorable
one day vee is in her slightly older headspace that being 18 months - which coincidentally is the age babies start running
now roman (whos not little) and patton are just chilling in romans room talking and waiting for logan to finish changing vee into a diaper so they can all play with the baby
when suddenly they hear a muffled "Vee, sit back- Baby! Baby, no, no no come back! BABY-"
that is followed by quick little footsteps appraching the door and light giggles - then vee pushes the door open, jiji clutched to her chest, dressed in a pink crop top that reads "cute" in rainbow letters and a pink and white diaper and literally nothing else
roman and patton instantly burst out laughing because she toddles into the room so quickly but shes so wobbly! wearing a diaper makes it hard to walk for her because of the thick padding so she really is toddling like a baby
and she immediately darts to the bed where roman is sitting propped against the headboard and he hurriedly opens his arms just in time for her to literally collapse on his chest and wriggle around to straddle his lap, all while squeaking in laughter
"heya, titch," roman giggles, holding her steady. "did you escape, huh?" and he feels so delighted and amused that her diaper is on full display and is crinkling loudly when vee giggles and wriggles.
"Vee?? Baby, where are you?!" logan sounds panicked in the hallway
"in here loganberry!" patton chuckles, his phone pulled out and clearly capturing a ton of photos of this moment
but vee whines and quickly hides her face in romans shoulder and covers her head with jiji
Roman giggles "whatcha doin, baby?"
and she responds from her hiding place "umbibible"
"youre what?" patton frowns, still smiling though
roman chuckles understanding what she means "are you invisible?"
vee nods and squeals in delight. "shh shh bimbible!"
"ohh okay, shh shh" roman whispers and nods very seriously and cradles the back of her shoulders and diaper to hold her safe and help her hide. "invisible"
logan suddenly bursts in looking stressed as heck and sighs in relief when he sees vee in romans lap
"hey specs, whats got you so frazzled?" roman asks and bites his lip to contain his laughter
after a brief moment taking a deep breath and running his hand back through his hair, logan has recomposed himself. "hello roman. Could you do me a favor and hand over the baby in your lap?"
then roman frowns. "what baby?"
vee giggles and buries her head more in romans neck. he doesnt mind the slight ache at all
logan smiles humourlessly. "very funny, but I need to get her dress on"
"i dont think it would fit you, honey" patton jokes from behind his phone.
roman snorts
logan stares at patton, expressionless
and then roman notices that the way patton holds the camera is so obvious he is taking a VIDEO of this exchange. roman hugs vee tighter with pride
"okay, i really do need to get the baby dressed though" logan insists to roman with a little smile
roman makes a show of looking around the room, avoiding looking down at the adorable mound of pink and white in his lap. "sorry, i dont see any baby"
vee squirms and her diaper crinkles loudly. then they all hear the tiniest babyish whisper. "bimbible"
they're all trying so hard not to laugh now, logan is like biting his cheek to stop smiling and sternly says "roman, I need to get your baby sibling dressed"
"logan i literally have no idea where she is!"
vee giggles and kicks her feet lightly in excitemnt
a choked laugh escapes patton before he scrunches his face to stop it, and logan closes his eyes, his face twitching with the effort not to laugh. romans the best at holding in laughter but he's close to breaking he can tell
"okahay" logan says with a concealed chuckle. "okay, then. roman can you please help me find the baby?"
roman gasps dramatically. "logan, you lost the baby?! What kind of a mother are you!!"
and vee suddenly squeals loud and highpitched into romans shoulder and wiggles so much that shes basically vibrating with excitement
everyone silently wheezes at the reaction: logan slams his hand over his mouth and has to hold the wall for support, romans head drops back in a silent scream of laughter and cradles vees head, and pattons eyes squint shut and the camera wobbles as he shakes with silent chuckles
at that point patton knows they need to wrap this up or they'll either burst into loud laughter and risk startling vee, or they'll all run out of breath from trying to hold it back
"if there was a baby in here," he laughs as gently as he can, "then surely she would be invisible, right roman?"
roman agrees "yes obviously, patton" and he sways gently cradling vee because she was constantly squeaking and squirming and they dont want her getting too overexcited
again, vee giggles "bimbible, bimbible!" still hiding in romans shoulder
of course that gives logan an idea
he approaches the bed "well im afraid theres only one way to find invisible babies" he starts very solemnly and perches on the edge of the mattress next to roman and totally not a totally visible baby
then he smiles. "is sheeeee... over here?" he asks, fluttering just one finger over her neck and vee squeaks and pulls jiji down to cover her neck
roman smiles and strokes her now visible purple hair
"hmm" logan hums in thought as patton gets up from the beanbag to get a better angle to film this whole debacle. logan smiles at the camera mischievously for a moment, apparently forgetting his camera shyness in the excitement
"is she perhaps here?" and he scribbles all fingers of one hand over the exposed back of her knee
vee giggles melodically and quickly folds her legs up into romans lap - but her toes are scrunching happily. shes no longer hidden in romans shoulder but is still curled up against his chest and is hiding her face with jiji
"I think I know where the baby is~" logan sings teasingly, and everyone beams and giggles at the way vee wiggles so much that roman has to curl his arms all the way around her and her diaper to stop her from wriggling right off his lap
"she must be...." logan draws it out, wiggling all ten fingers towards her back. "over here!"
logans fingertips land just above the hem of vee's diaper, settling on her sides and the back of her ribs and scribbling and spiralling gently - the diaper hem rustles loudly under his fingers but thats nothing compared to the reaction from vee
she positively screeches with squeaky laughter, dropping jiji instantly to reveal her flushed cheeks and her scrunched up happy eyes and her big big gummy smile! she wriggles around so much and flaps jiji in the air excitedly
and everyone coos "THERE SHE IS~ 💞" in unison
...
when they finish with the tickling and the giggling, logan finally gets vee back in her room to get dressed... but she whines and pouts whenever he tried to put any kind of skirt or pants on her
try as he might logan literally cannot convince vee to wear anymore clothes than she's already wearing - so for a compromise he simply puts on her ruffly white diaper cover !
patton absolutey bursts with love and adorableness when he sees her all smiley and blushy and wriggly in her cute poofy diaper cover and roman giggles and thinks about how much fun it'll be to remind vee about this tomorrow >:3c
for the entire day everyone is just so giggly because vee is in the most playful happy baby mood, she loves not wearing any pants or skirts and keeps wiggling on her butt to hear the diaper crinkles and kicking her bare legs in excitement and squeals
...
the next morning roman absolutely follows through on his promise to himself and tells vee all about it
vee is so so embarrassed, blushing like mad and hiding her face behind logans shoulder as everyone smiles and tries not to giggle too hard at her reaction
"oh my god, why didnt anyone dress me??"
"you put up quite a fight" logan says so casually it almost sounds like he isnt grinning ear to ear. "youre very persuasive when you pout, princess"
vee pulls away from him with a very appropriate pout
"aww come on dont be embarrassed," patton coos "you were the most adorable little baby in the world yesterday with your poofy little diaper butt"
"dad!" vee squeaks in indignation
everyone giggles at her reaction (and roman sees her lips twitch up in a hidden smile)
roman leans to whisper in her ear "i think you like it~"
"stoooop" vee whines and buries her burning cheeks against romans shoudler instead
big mistake
"wow déja vu" roman chuckles "i guess youre not straddling my lap this time though - all wriggly and giggly and crinkly"
vee pulls back form him with a bewildered look "i was in your lap? and i was only wearing--"
"well sure!" patton chuckles as though its ridiculous vee is even questioning it. "i dunno why youre so suprised, you always sit in your brothers lap. OH I can show you the video to prove it!" and he pulls out his cellphone and starts searching for the video
"i dunno pat, are you sure it will help to watch the video?" roman asks
and for a MILLISECOND vee thinks roman is actually for once showing her mercy
then he smiles at her. "i mean she was 'bimbible', I dunno if you wouldve caught her on camera"
"thats very true," logan nods, sipping his coffee with a smirk "though it might be worth reviewing the footage purely for research purposes"
patton laughs "oh of course, we really have to check if you can see 'bimbible' babies on camera... oop, i think we can!"
patton beams and holds up his phone to show a picture of vee curled up against romans chest, half-naked and with romans hands curled round her shoulders and the top of the diaper, his head thrown back and clearly in the midst of delighted laughter
vee squeaks and pulls minty from their seat at the breakfast table to bury her face in them. "youre my only ally minty" she whispers into their fluff as the family all coo over the adorable photos

Doubts - Beginnings Part 4
WATERFALL (Part One), SUNSET (Part Two), SECRETS (Part Three)
A/N: Guess who back, back again-! Anyway, thanks to all the support in the last three parts, this series has been such a blast to write! I’ve finally decided on a name for it - Beginnings, so that’s what they’ll be titled with from now on to avoid any confusion. As always, links to the last three parts are above. I hope you enjoy! - Minty
TW: Surprise Pregnancy, anxiety/worry, blood/gore, alcohol/drinking, implied major character death, sickness, cursing. (Let me know if I need to tag anything else!)
--------------------------------------------
They started construction on a house around a 15-minute walk from Phil’s house, on a hill that overlooked the waterfall in the distance. They didn’t know what they were doing, but Phil did his best to help out when he could and give advice, having been in a similar situation not too long ago. Wilbur went out searching for jobs when he could and managed to get gigs every now and then as he saved up cash to get everything they needed. It was a new feeling for the couple - Wilbur’s constant worry over his girlfriend, and Sally’s determination to not let the pregnancy control her. All in all, it was a bit of a frazzle. Tommy and Tubbo were a bit off-put at the fact that they’d be uncles at such a young age - nonetheless, they tried to take it all in stride.
Phil answered a lot of questions in the following weeks from his two younger sons, who didn’t understand how it all worked. A good example could be just last week when Tubbo gave Sally ginger ale and straw, leaving Phil slightly confused until he figured out Tubbo was trying to help her out since ‘her stomach hurt’. Tommy’s confused ideas of helping were a bit more out there than his brother’s - the Carrot Incident was a pretty good example - but it was clear that their hearts were always in the right place.
Technoblade was distanced and tried not to get too involved but helped out when he needed to - he told Phil that this was more Wilbur’s responsibility than his, which Phil couldn’t deny. The pig hybrid still hung around the couple and even eased their worries when he realized how absurd some of Wilbur’s concerns became - “You’re reading too much on those books, Wil. Just because it could happen doesn’t mean it will!” Technoblade was always available to talk and support his brother, who became a bit of a mess from it all.
Still, they were a happy family who was nothing but excited for the baby’s arrival - they were going on five months, and things had been going smoothly… at least, mostly smoothly.
----------------------------------
Wilbur pulled up the covers on the bed as he left a tender kiss on Sally’s forehead. She smiled, yawning. “Wake me up for dinner…?”
“Of course, my salmon. You rest, I’ll make sure Tubbo and Tommy are quiet.”
Another yawn escaped the shifter’s lips. “You tell them if they wake me up they’ll be dealing with a very pissed off pregnant lady who…*yawn* won’t hesitate to kick their asses.” Wilbur giggled softly, brushing the hair out of his girlfriend’s face in a simple loving gesture.
“Get some sleep, okay?” Wilbur said. “I won’t be far.”
“I love you, Wil.”
“I love you too, Sally,” Wilbur said, turning off the lights to darken the room as he gently and softly closed the door behind him. Over time, most of his worries had eased, thankfully - but a few lingered in his mind that fizzled around his brain. Wilbur tried to push them away as he moved downstairs, resting his head against the counter for a brief moment, sitting on one of the kitchen stools. He let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding as he ran his hands through his hair once again. He had a gig later that night, but his body craved rest. Wilbur chose to ignore it, there wasn’t much use anyway. If he napped at this point he’d miss the job altogether, and he needed the cash. Bored, trying to distract himself, he pulled out his notepad and flipped to a fresh page as he rhythmically tapped the pencil against the paper, willing himself to focus his thoughts.
It felt strange to Wilbur to stare down at a blank page and not have anything to write. It was hard to describe how he felt, much less think of rhymes. So much was overwhelming his emotions and feelings, still, he tried to focus and scribble words across the page. Maybe if he wrote it all down, he’d feel better somehow - it always worked for him before. His notepad held all the times he was happy, all the times he was sad, upset, angry, confused… all hidden in words like a code only he could understand. It was the closest thing to a journal or diary that he owned, one of his most prized possessions.
Maybe it’ll comfort him now.
I’m struggling to breathe
Keep going
Protect her
Push forward
Wilbur looked down, his mouth turning down in distaste - this wasn’t exactly the lyrical poem that he usually formed. There was, as always, some truth in the words. It felt like he was ranting, almost. It didn’t make sense.
Everything will be okay
Wilbur’s eyebrows furrowed in thought at what he wrote. He was trying to reassure himself, but… it felt wrong.
Will everything be okay?
“Uh-oh, the notepad’s out,” Phil said jokingly from the doorway as he carried in what looked to be a large basket filled with the garden’s harvest - wheat, carrots, and potatoes. He quickly noticed Wilbur’s distress, his smirk quickly disappearing. “Wil? Wil what’s wrong?”
Wilbur sighed as he read the words staring up at him over and over. “Nothing really. Just a lot on my mind, I guess.”
“I see,” Phil said, not believing that for a second as he set the large basket down on the counter, methodically moving to store up the food. “You look tired.”
“I feel tired,” Wilbur said, finally closing the notepad as he let out a soft chuckle in the suffocatingly silent house. “Got a gig in an hour, though.”
“You need to sleep, Wil.” Phil scolded, his gaze stern.
Wilbur waved him off. “I’ve got a lot I need to do. It’s no problem, anyway - the club’s gonna close up in a few days, and then Jay said I might not get another job in at least a month while they restock for summer.” Phil gave him a look, hand on his hip as Wilbur held up both his hands in surrender. “I’ll get some better sleep then, I swear.”
“Good,” Phil said, his gaze softening as he turned back to the basket. “Are you heading to Melrose’s place tonight, or TBO?”
“Melrose. She needed me last minute to fill a half-hour slot, promised to pay double.” Wilbur said as he got up from the stool and stretched, heading over to grab a cup of lukewarm coffee that was left in the pot from the morning. Hey, coffee was coffee, and he needed to keep the sandman at bay - double pay was no joke, and with his earnings tonight he’d finally be able to get everything they needed for the new house and for the baby. He needed to go, and he had to do well.
“I hope she doesn’t expect to keep dragging you out last minute.”
“Hey, as long as it pays well-” Wilbur shot thoughtfully as he sipped his coffee. The two turned their attention as Technoblade entered the house, his weapons, and clothes covered in blood, a few of his kills on his shoulder. Phil grimaced.
“Techno, I told you not to track blood in the house, go around to the back-!” The smell of rotting and decay, potent, filled the boy’s noses as they pinched them, trying to get rid of the scent. Technoblade silently turned around, going out the front door again. “You better shower and change before dinner, don’t forget!” Phil called as Techno simply waved his hand.
“Yeah, yeah…”
Wilbur quickly chugged the last of his coffee as he put the mug in the sink and quickly followed his older sibling. The night was cold as he pulled his jacket closer around him, walking around toward the back of the house. The sky was quickly turning dark as the day began to end, stars not quite appearing just yet. Techno sat over the two dead sheep he’d brought into the house earlier, the nasty musk somewhat masked by the cold wind. The pig hybrid was focused as he ran his blade along the belly of the kill, carving and cutting out sizable chunks of meat which he began to wrap in some jungle leaves for storage. Technoblade liked hunting, and no one could deny his skill, knowledge, and precision of it. He was patient and always waited for the right moment to strike, always hunted smaller game because he knew others were too big to carry back home. The prey always usually went down in one hit, and if that didn’t do the job Techno would usually hold the creature down while he made a quick jab toward the skull. He pig prided himself on his hunts, which provided the majority of their meat for meals ever since the town decided to enforce a livestock tax on the people to raise a little extra coin.
Setting the packages aside, Techno looked up to notice Wilbur staring at him silently. “Uh, hey Wil. Whaddya need?”
“Can’t I just check on my sweet older brother?” Wilbur smirked, and Techno huffed, amused.
“You can, but you and I both know you don’t.” Technoblade joked as he walked past him, heading toward the river with Wilbur close behind, grabbing a cloth and his bloodied weapons along the way. The pig hybrid took a breath as he turned to look at his brother. “What’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing important, really,” Wilbur said. “I’ve just been worried, I guess.”
“About Sally?” Technoblade asked, kneeling down beside the river beginning to scrub his weapons clean. “Don’t tell me you’ve been reading those parenting books again, I’m telling you they’re shit-”
“I’m worried about myself.” Technoblade’s eyebrows shot up as he looked at his brother, slightly shocked at the intensity in his voice as he sat next to him by the riverbank. Wilbur took a deep breath as he tried to release the stress from his mind, looking into the clear running waters. “What if I mess up, or… or I can’t be a good father? What if I’m the one who’s not ready, you know?”
“This has all been your decision, Wilbur. Your life. I can’t tell you that everything will be sunshine and rainbows because to be completely honest Wil, I don’t know.” Technoblade said honestly, moving to place his clean sword on the grass and moving to grab his axe. “But I don’t think you should be worrying so much about the future. Live in the moment, in the now. If things go bad, you’ll know what to do Wilbur. Trust yourself.”
“But what if I-?”
“Nope. No more worrying.” Technoblade said, cutting off his brother. “Just focus on right now, and as cheesy as it is, have a bit of hope.”
“When did you get so philosophical?”
“I’m wise beyond my minutes, young one,” Technoblade smirked as Wilbur laughed. Techno began to wipe off his face and neck of blood, rinsing the cloth in the river as he went.
“Do you have any parenting wisdom to place upon me?” Wilbur asked, half-joking.
“I mean, It’s not really my department. Kids aren’t really… they’re not my thing.” Technoblade said with a little shrug of his shoulders. “But if I had any advice to give you, it would be that if you have the same patience and love Phil had for us, I think you’ll do just fine.”
Patience and Love. Live in the moment. Trust yourself. His worries seemed to melt and dull in his mind, and he felt a lot better than he did earlier. “Thanks, Technoblade.”
Technoblade just saluted his two index fingers with a smile before moving to get up, ruffling Wilbur’s hair. “Be good to the little scamp, this family’s already crazy enough.”
-----------------------------------
Wilbur zipped up his guitar case as he grabbed his keys and the small bag of coins. Looking out the window, he could see the nightclubs and bars, restaurants and torched streetlamps slowly flicker to life, glowing against the dark sky. Like a whole new town lying just beneath the surface, revealed in the darkness. Sally walked over with his gloves and scarf, a gentle sad smile on her face as Wilbur took the wool gloves and pulled them on.
“Every time you leave, I miss you just a little more.” Sally said, wrapping the scarf around Wilbur’s neck and folding it neatly in front. “Do you have to go?” Wilbur warmly smiled as he gently cupped her cheek.
“You know I’ll never be far, my salmon.” He kissed her forehead tenderly as he brushed a bit of stray hair behind her ear. “You’ll close your eyes and when you wake up I’ll be right by your side, you’ll barely even notice I left.” Sally leaned in closer as Wilbur wrapped his arms around her comfortingly, his chin resting gently on her head. As they pulled away Sally’s eyes looked up to his, a worry and fear behind her gaze that seized Wilbur’s heart.
“Promise you’ll be safe?”
“When am I ever not safe?” Wilbur asked, leading Sally to cross her arms and look at him with a slight pout that made Wilbur laugh. “Okay, okay. I promise.”
With one final goodbye kiss, Wilbur shut the bedroom door behind him again, walking downstairs. He noticed Tommy sat on the couch, head in his hands and his blonde hair messed. He looked over to his younger brother, gently propping up his guitar against the stair railings. “It’s late, what are you doing up?”
“Nightmare.” Tommy mumbled, slightly sleepily.
“Do you... wanna talk about it-?”
“I’m not seven anymore, Wil. It was just a stupid nightmare, I can handle it on my own.”
Wilbur was quiet for a moment, processing what Tommy said, how he snapped at him. He sighed before looking over to meet the teen’s eyes. “If you’re sure you’re alright…?” Tommy nodded before Wilbur pulled him into a small hug, Tommy’s hand held onto his arms around him in comfort as he smiled slightly despite his current state.
“Heh. Thanks, Wil.”
“That’s what big brothers are for, right?” Wilbur smiled as he pulled away. “Don’t stay up too late, okay?”
“Yeah.”
“Well, I guess I’ll be off.” Wilbur said, getting up from the couch to grab his guitar once more, throwing the straps over his shoulders. “That gig won’t play itself.”
“Good luck, Wil.” Tommy called before Wilbur turned, his heart warm and happy, giving him a smile and thanking him before taking his leave into the cold night air.
------------------------------------------------
“Thank you, you’ve been an amazing audience!” Wilbur said as cheers erupted from around the pub. Moving off the stool, he grabbed his guitar by the neck and sauntered offstage, feeling happy with his performance. Within 30 minutes he managed to squeeze in four songs, which to his delight the crowd seemed to enjoy - at Melrose the tap was never empty, and as such the crowd was easily angered by the slightest things, or even nothing at all. The only somewhat mishap during his slot was when a bit of beer had splashed against his clothes thanks to a patron who had a little too much. They were quickly shown the door and the night resumed its somewhat peaceful pleasure.
He walked up to the bar and sat in the corner with his guitar, watching the next musician take the stage - it looked like a band from the amount of people. Wilbur knew he wouldn’t get paid in full until the end of the night after each performance was done, Melrose wanted to make sure they held up their end of the bargain instead of running off what the money. He had at least another hour in here before closing.
“Are you drinking or not?” Wilbur looked up to the bartender as he stared down at him, expecting some kind of response. He wasnt exactly a big drinker, quite the opposite - the only times he’s ever drank were with Phil and Sally. Sally, once when they were both eighteen just to try it out - he winced remembering the monster hangover the morning after. Phil around a year ago when he turned twenty-one and they both shared a few beers together in celebration. Both times he’d gotten tipsy pretty easily, either because he wasn’t exactly used to drinking yet or because he was a natural lightweight, who knows. Either way, he wasn’t exactly going to risk getting drunk right now.
“Uhm, I’ll have a club soda, thanks.”
The bartender gave him a once-over, put off by his request before slightly shrugging his shoulders. “Suit yourself, buddy.”
“Alright, we’re Black Rose and we hope you enjoy the set! This first song is called ‘Sleepless’.” A guy spoke into the microphone, turning to his friends with a smile before counting them in as the music began to blast through the pub. It was a nice tune, and Wilbur found his foot unconsciously tapping along with the music. He closed his eyes and let the sound fill his ears as they began to sing the chorus. It felt right. There was a kind of emotional distress behind the singer's voice, in the twinge of his tone or in a voice crack or two that almost felt like magic.
“And I’m not going blind, I just keep falling, falling behind;
Time goes slow and fast, my heart’s pumping and my head has crashed;
Sit in silence and pretend like your demons are your friends;
Your thoughts are racing while you’re pacing, it’s all in your mind, sleepless~!”
“Hey Wil, you got a minute?” Wilbur jolted back at how close the voice was, as he looked over to see none other than Melrose - her blonde hair flowed down her back messily with a ruby red dress that complimented her blue eyes. She pursed her lips into a line, a signal she was thinking as her pen tapped against the clipboard in her hand. “Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.”
“It’s, uh, it’s fine. What’s up, Mel? Hope my performance was up to par.”
Her lips formed back to a comfortable smirk. “Performance was great as always, Wilbur. You never cease to please.” Her eyes turned down toward her clipboard. “Though I’m afraid I can’t say the same for everybody. Tips came up a little short thanks to a few blanks, I’ve got to decrease your pay for tonight.”
Wilbur’s eyebrows furrowed. “Mel, you promised.”
“Look, Wil I’m sorry but there’s nothing I can do.” Melrose let out a sigh, rubbing her temple in frustration. “I’m barely making enough to pay as is.”
As she turned to leave, Wilbur quickly grabbed her wrist to stop her. “Mel, you don’t understand, I need the cash.”
Melrose sighed, rolling her eyes. “Don’t we all.” She snapped slightly, yanking back her arm. “I told you I can’t do anything-”
“Rosie, come quick!” One of the bodyguards interrupted as he approached with a sword slung over his back. “Charlie’s getting wasted in the back, someone gave him vodka…”
“Goddammit, not again. Can’t that bastard ever get sober?” She huffed, giving Wilbur one last look before slipping back into the crowd. Fuck. Well, there goes a whole extra gig’s pay - with the pub’s restock he won’t be able to pay off everything now even if he had work twice each week...dammit. The due date was in April, he still had time. He could probably get another job while the pub’s down, he’ll have to check the town bulletin on his way home later. He turned back to his club soda, letting out a defeated sigh.
Guess I’ll be away from home more than I thought.
A scream from outside quickly tore Wilbur from his thoughts as he turned toward the sound.
-------------------------------------
Philza was a light sleeper. Being on the road and sleeping the wilderness had always made him jump at the slightest hint of danger, a sort of survival instinct that developed. It only increased when Techno and Wilbur came around, for the first time in his life he had someone else to protect and look out for than just himself, more he could lose. He guessed that’s why he jumped the gun a bit at teaching them how to fight so early - If he couldn’t be there in time, he wanted for them to be able to protect themselves. Even so, his instincts from way back then never stopped, which was most likely why the head of the family was awake now.
Muffled sounds came from below him, shuffling. Something was here, and whatever it was it wasn’t good. His heart beat quicker as adrenaline rushed into his veins. He grabbed his sword, leaned against the wall, and crept down the hallway silently. It was dark in the house, he could barely see a few feet in front of him as his eyes adjusted to the darkness. He couldn’t hear the noise anymore, which only heightened his senses as his heart beat faster.
Then, a groan which sent him backing up - that was much, much closer than before. Suddenly, he bumped into something that grabbed his arm and without thinking he swept his feet under whatever it was, sending them to the floor. “Ugh… hey to you too, Phil.”
He looked down and noticed his oldest moving to stand back up from where he fell against the floorboards, rubbing the back of his head. “Techno…?” He asked before quickly helping him up. “What are you doing, you scared me!”
“I was checking out the noise, same as you.” Technoblade said before readjusting his grip on his own sword. “Remind me to never spar with you when you’re in attack mode.”
“Will do.” Phil smirked. Both quickly tensed as they heard shuffling and groaning from down below, clear enough for the two to recognize the noise instantly. They looked to each other, eyes wide. Zombies. Where there’s one there’s bound to be more around in minutes. “Get Tubbo and Tommy, I’ll get Sally.” Technoblade nodded before turning and rushing off behind Phil as he rushed toward the end of the hallway, toward Sally and Wilbur’s room. Phil didn’t know how they managed to have a breach in the walls, but however it occurred it meant one thing - the next ten minutes were the difference between life and death.
He entered the room to see one of the rotting creatures standing over the shifter, who decked it clean across the face, her ears scanning her surroundings, green goop covering her hand. She turned to face Phil, who rushed forward and pushed his blade through the zombies’ skull, killing it for good. Both panted heavily as Phil checked her over, worried. “Are you okay, did it bite you?”
“No, no. I’m good.” Sally reassured him as she looked around the room. “Where’s Wil?”
“I...I don’t know, but... I’m sure he’s safe, wherever he is.” Phil said, trying his best to push his own worries out of his mind.
“Wait, he’s not back yet?” Sally’s eyes grew wide at the realization as her body tensed in worry. “He’s out there, with… with…”
“Wilbur knows how to handle himself.” Phil reassured her, worry growing in the back of his head and forming an uncomfortable spot in his stsomach. “For now we need to be more worried about ourselves - If we’re going to survive until morning we need to barricade the house, and fast.” Phil said, grabbing her by the wrist as they rushed back out into the hallway, Phil chopping another zombie’s head clean off its skull as they rushed past it toward the stairs. He could see Tommy and Tubbo wielding their swords as they tore through zombie after zombie in the living room, somehow making it into a sort of game as they smiled and laughed. Technoblade, on the other hand, moved chairs and tables against the two doors to block them watching his back as a zombie stauntered toward him, and he swept his legs under the creature and quickly curb stomped its skull, slimy green goo flowing into the wooden floor. Phil tossed Sally an axe that she caught quickly, feeling the weight in her hands and happy to have a weapon. “Clear out the ones inside.”
“Got it.”
Tommy jumped from the couch onto a tall zombie, piercing it through the chest and pinning it with his sword to a nearby wall. “Ha! Top that, idiot!” He shouted trumphantly toward Tubbo, who’s eyes lit up competitively as he attempted to hack a nearby zombie in half and managed to get his sword stuck.
“Uhm…”
Sally rushed in, ignoring the tender soreness in her tired body as she hacked the zombie’s head clean off with her axe as its body slumped to the floor. Quickly and effortlessly, she pulled out the lodged weapon and handed it to Tubbo. “Be more careful, yeah?”
“Uh… yeah, yeah…” Tubbo said sheepishly as he took his weapon back and Sally rushed to finish off Tommy’s pinned zombie. With a few strikes, it was down. Tommy grabbed his sword to get it free, tugging harshly to no avail. He got more anxious with each tug as Sally faceplamed.
“You stupid-” She muttered, handing him her axe. “Finish off the last two with Tubbo, and try not to lose another weapon, okay?” Tommy huffed in slight protest before Sally gave him a look and he rolled his eyes, taking the weapon and running off.
“I don’t think it’s gonna hold!” Technoblade yelled as he threw his back against the door, pushing it closed against what must have been around twenty zombies pushing and trying to get in with any means necessary. Sally looked over to Phil, who looked around frantically, trying to think of a plan, any plan at all. “Phil?”
“Phil, what do we-?”
A loud crash erupted - a broken window. Danger. Phil’s grip tightened on his sword as he began to shout orders. “Tommy, Tubbo, hold the back door NOW! Sally, stay behind me.” Phil’s tone was tense and sharp, and the two teen boys rushed like mice to do as he asked. “We just need a little more time, it’s gotta hold a little longer…” At this point, he was hoping for some kind of miracle. This wasn’t just a regular breach - this was a massacre. Rushing forward, he pushed the shadow in the dim light down to the floor, and quickly raised his axe to bring it down when-
“Wait wait wait-! I’m not one of them!”
Phil’s eyes squinted in the light to find… Wilbur. He looked like a mess, his clothes torn and ripped with green slimy goo staining the fabric. Phil’s eyes watered in relief as he quickly pulled his son in for a tight embrace, helping him up off the floor. “Thank god, don’t ever scare me like that again.”
“Good to see you too, Dad.” Wilbur smiled before the two let go, his eyebrows furrowed and his tone more serious. “These aren’t regular zombies, they’re stronger and more resilient. Last I checked they were taking down the square one house at a time, and from the looks of it most of them were not prepared for a visit.”
“...Fuck.” Phil cursed under his breath, his mind beginning to race once again. Did they have a chance?
“I ran as fast as I could to get here, I was so worried…” Wilbur said as Sally rushed forward to embrace him with a smile, running her hands down his face and through his hair, afraid she’d lose it again. Wilbur, in turn ran his hands down her arms, his smile brightening that it was real and alive and here-
“Good to see you’re not dead, Wil.” Tommy huffed against the door as the monsters on the other side growled and moaned, pushing their weight and strength against it. “But we have a bit of a situation here!”
“We need to get out of here.” Wilbur looked over to Phil. “If we stay any longer, we’ll be trapped. Once we’re out of here we can run into the forest to hide and wait out the horde.”
“But both exits-”
The two elder brothers looked at their father and answered at the same time in surprise. “The second floor window.” They turned to each other, sharing a brief smile. Technoblade looked over to Phil once more, his mind and heart racing as the voices in his head boomed louder, and he tried his best to ignore their shouts.
“Look, it’s risky, I know, but we’ve gotta try. We don’t have time.” He winced and grunted as the zombies on the other side of the wall grew more violent in their animalistic attempts to break in. Phil looked at his family’s faces, hints of fear and uncertainty in their expressions. Tommy’s arm went to stop Tubbo from falling over at a particularly forceful blow, and as Tommy’s nerves increased he could see Tubbo holding his hand and giving it a squeeze. Technoblade’s heels dug into the wooden floor as chairs, tables and wooden boards began to splitter under the force of the creatures outside. Wilbur pressed a soft kiss to Sally’s forehead as Sally’s hand drifted to her stomach instinctively at this point, her eyes filled with nothing but worry. He knew this was crazy, but if it meant that there was a chance they’d be safe, he’d risk it.
“Alright. Wilbur, make sure the window’s open and we have a clear way down. Everyone else, get ready to run.”
----------------------------------------
Wilbur’s heart stopped as he saw the creature’s teeth sink into Phil’s neck as he let out a scream in agony. Shit, shit, shit… he didn’t know where they came from, they blocked the stairs as they ran up, why didn’t he see it?! The zombie that bit Phil fell to the ground with a thud as Phil’s own blood seeped down his shoulder and stained his shirt. Techno stilled as he made eye contact with his father, who looked sad, knowing his fate. “Phil, I’m so sorry, I-” Wilbur trembled, his hand reaching out toward Phil, not knowing what to do, what to say. Phil’s head shook back and forth slightly before pushing his sword into Wilbur’s hands.
“You two need to go. Now. Before you lose the chance.”
Technoblade was stone faced. “Phil, we’re not leaving you-”
“There’s no time to discuss this, I said GO-!” Phil shouted sternly before going into a coughing fit, holding himself steady against the wall. Wilbur stepped forward, wanting to grab his hand, help him before Phil recoiled. “Wil… Techno… you need to go, that’s an order.” Silence fell over the two brothers, not wanting to leave their father. “Look, they’re not going to attack me now but they will attack you, now MOVE IT!”
Shuffling and groans grew behind them as Phil winced, feeling the infection flow through his body. They needed to get out before he turned, they needed to live, he wanted them to live-
“But what about you?”
Phil looked over to his sons with a sad smile. “I think I’ve taught you both enough to know what happens now.” Suddenly it felt like all the air in the room vanished. “Now do me proud and show me what we do if someone gets bit. Show me what I’ve taught you.” Phil could feel himself getting lightheaded, he was going to pass out, but he couldn’t… not until they both were safe.
Wilbur didn’t know what to do as he looked to Techno then to Phil, who slowly lowered himself to the floor, his back leaning against the walls of the home he built for them. Techno’s fists tightened as he turned to face his brother. “Techno…?”
“Get somewhere safe, okay?” His voice was heavy, serious. “Promise me you’ll get somewhere safe.”
“I… I will, I promise.” Wilbur said, trying to look at his brother to see if he had any plan. “But what are we going to-?” Before he knew what was happening, Techno shoved him through the window, closing and locking it firmly behind him. Wilbur began to panic, realizing what Technoblade was doing and trying to find some kind of grip before he slipped off the roof and landed in the bushes, pain and bruises blossoming on his body. Tubbo helped him up off the ground as Tommy’s eyes looked up to the window, confused.
“Where’s Phil and Tech?”
Tears pricked at the edges of Wilbur’s eyes as he felt his heart begin to throb without them here. Why, why why… Why did he stay? Why didn’t he let him stay? Why wasn’t he careful enough? It’s all his fault-
“Wil…?” Tommy’s voice wavered. “Where’s Technoblade and Phil?”
At that moment, Wilbur knew things changed forever. Phil and Techno were gone, they were gone and they were never coming back. He told Technoblade, he promised him that he’d get all of them somewhere safe, and with a heavy heart Wilbur knew it wasn’t here, not anymore. He wasn’t going to lose anyone else, he was going to protect them. He was going to protect all of them, if it was the last thing he’d ever do. That very moment what Techno said to him finally made sense.
‘If things go bad, you’ll know what to do, Wilbur.’
Right now, he wanted, more than anything in the world, to get them out of here. Tubbo and Tommy shared awkward glances as Wilbur took a deep breath for a moment, sniffling and wiping the tears from his eyes. Sally looked towards him concerned as Wilbur slid his hand into hers, looking towards his brothers with the same look and tone Phil had.
“We need to go. Now.”

{ ♙ } someone’s cup of tea || Accepting || @reigningsniper { ♙ }
Tumblr media
[ The clear, glass teapot had been a gift, given to Mustang by a recently impressed diplomat. In fact, it was part of a set; Xingese crystal, very expensive glassware. Which is why the team had been so surprised when he’d bestowed it unto his office ( “There are six teacups, aren’t there?”, he had explained, answering none of their queries ).
Three days later, and Lieutenant Hawkeye had stepped forward to christen it with a little loose leaf. As it steeps, Fuery immediately catches something minty wafting his way, but it’s coupled with something else. Something he doesn’t recognize, reminiscent of green tea, if not... grassier. It isn’t until she pours his small cupful, brought to his mouth with both hands, that he detects the underlying saffron. Sharp, smoky, and crisp- like a cool morning’s first dew. ]
❝ Very refreshing, sir, thank you. ❞
[ It isn’t until Falman ambles in late, a little frazzled- greeted with a freshly brewed cup of his own- that Fuery learns the name: “Atay Bi Na’na”, he calls it, impressing Hawkeye in his midst. A morning spearmint, saffron, gunpowder tea blend, that Kain learns, tapping a sprinkle of sugar into his cup, is native to northern Ishval. ]

constant - prologue
a prologue to a much bigger work that i'm writing for you in mind, hence the analogies to coffee riddles in there. i hope you enjoy, and part one will be here soon! sending good vibes your way.
-rose
----
he always manages to smell like coffee.
it's never too potent to the point where it's worth noting in a conversation, but it's always there. lingering just below the surface. it's almost as if it has managed to cling onto his clothes like a stain on a school uniform no matter how many times it's thrown into a washing machine. it's a constant.
you didn't realize how much the scent calmed you.
stability was where you excelled, sticking to schedules and time tables as if it was the only thing keeping you sane. you were convinced it was, and your therapist would back you up on that statement if she could hear it pass your lips as your voice shook. she was a constant, a (now distant) reminder of all the things that you have experienced.
he however, was not.
he came and went as he pleased, stopping through your barely open window as if it were the entrance to a school. he had an aura around him, one that you had yet to unravel completely. you had it written down in a leather bound notebook that sat in your bedside drawer most nights, another constant.
(you started to thrive on constants when you moved, but no one knew that but you)
"what's in that pretty little head of yours, treasure?"
his voice made you stiffen and whip your head towards the window that he himself opened that one night, onyx eyes and lips curled into a smirk. he was watching your reactions like he always does, trying to pull your secrets out as inconspicuously as possible.
"i could ask the same to you," was the beginning of the response that spilled pass your lips with no regrets, "after all, this could be considered a two way street."
a sharp laugh left his lips as onyx eyes shone with a little more light, it making your heart flutter ever so slightly.
"you never fail to amaze me." he murmured as he tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear, suddenly in front of you and your bed that you were sitting on. the touch was intoxicating, and the coffee smell that erupted from him managed to slightly calm your nerves that were always frazzled by this time of night. you resisted the urge to sink and plead for him to go further, and pull you into arms that were clad in a leather jacket and hold you until sunrise.
"what do you want to know?"
the question startled you, you pulling away from his touch with wide eyes, almost silently asking him if he was kidding, or this was some sort of elaborate joke. you had worked so hard for as long as you could recall scaling over the walls that held various parts of him, and you almost couldn't believe the statement that just went past his lips.
"what's your name?" your voice was a whisper, his lips inches to yours. you don't know how you got to this position, your head was spinning more than you would admit to anyone who saw the scene in front of you.
"hm, good choice," his breath was minty as he chuckled. the noise intoxicated you, drew you in to hear more, "call me Akira, treasure."
and, before you could even comprehend what was happening, he closed the gap between the two of you, lips clashing in a battle that he was winning. he was gone in the next second you could think clearly, halfway out your window with his eyes locking onto yours.
"use it wisely, darling, just like my heart."
was all he said before he was off, flashing into shadows before you had time to stand up.

Sad Day(s)
Summary: Every time you look outside your window / Everything is just the same as before / You are turning round and round / You see, it's a sad day for sure.
Pairing: Takemura Goro x V
A/N: Ten short drabbles showing a series of private moments between my nomad!V and Takemura. Also, I’ve been listening to FKA twigs - Sad Day on loop and the lyrics gave me some strong vibes for my OTP. Thank you @dedevilish for inspiring me!
 01 - Smile
As Takemura slid behind the wheel, he gave Vera his habitual half-smirk, the one that crinkled the corners of his eyes and just barely curled his lips, the one that made him look years younger and...something else; Vera wasn’t sure just what.
02 - First Impressions
Takemura had the usual soldier’s talent for sizing up people, and he used it now, studying V with silver eyes that gave nothing away. At the same time, he noted every detail about her. If she was distressed in any way by being made to cut her grieving short to meet with him at Tom’s Diner, she didn’t show it. Her expression said that she thought this was all nonsense, but she’d get through it and then get on with her life. ‘A shame,’ he thought, assessing her again, and this time with a man’s eye. He didn’t think much of thieves or street scum, but she was quite...beautiful.
03 - Judgement
He thought he was better than her. He was judging her.
But Takemura Goro didn’t say it; he didn’t have to. Vera read it in his calm, narrow-eyed gaze. “You don’t know me, so don’t presume to think that you do!” she said sharply, more sharply than she had intended. Vera could feel her control frazzling, feel the jagged edge of some pain she refused to let herself identify, and sternly fought her emotions back in line. There would be time enough for that later when she was alone and this hard-faced, corporate asshole wasn’t looking at her with veiled contempt.
04 - Solid
Takemura’s hand was on her arm, a cool, firm hand. Through the haze of pain, Vera felt the calluses on his fingers, smelled the light minty softness of his aftershave, and she had the blurred impression of a solid body standing very close to her, too close, almost as if she were leaning on him. An arm was around her back, and the hand holding her arm gently pushed her down onto a chair, the strength in his grip somehow reassuring. “Sit here,” he ordered quietly. “Put your head down, and take deep breaths. I will get you something cold to drink.”
05 - Lunch
Upon hearing V’s stomach growing, Takemura drove to a tiny, ramshackle place that had once been a ramen hut. There were no tables inside, just the drive-up window through which the owner dispensed grilled cheese sandwiches and crackers. Soon they were on their way again, and he watched from the corner of his eye as she slowly chewed on her sandwich, purple eyes brightening with pleasure.
06 - Rain
“Look at me.”
Vera swallowed and opened her eyes, staring up at Takemura in the rain-washed dimness of her apartment, his face lit by the watery light seeping through the window. His expression was set, his eyes narrow and piercing, his body warm. He gently tilted her head back, his hand firm on her neck. Vera saw the sensuous curve of his mouth, and then he was kissing her, mouth chapped, yet soft. Her eyes drifted shut again. His lips were gentle, shaping hers, and Vera allowed herself to sink into him.
07 - Gray
Vera woke the next morning cuddled in Takemura’s arms, her head on his shoulder, the warmth of his body a source of comfort in the cold, gray morning of Night City. The rain was pouring down, much heavier than the day before. As usual, he woke almost simultaneously, either too restless or too inherently cautious about leaving himself so vulnerable. Knowing him as she did, she assumed it was the latter.
08 - Fear
“Between us, we have enough emotional baggage to fill this entire rotten city. You and I probably need to be in therapy.” Vera gave a bitter chuckle. “And you were Saburo Arasaka’s bodyguard. We have nothing in common except that we both want his son dead. I don’t even know what I want to do after I get this damned chip out of my head, if I should go back to taking gigs or go join up with the Aldecado like I’d always planned. Part of me wants to quit, but how can I? I’m good at being a merc. I’m just so tired and—”
 “Afraid,” he said.
 “Of dying? You bet.”
 “No. Afraid to live.”
09 - Soft
He smiled at her. Vera wished he would stop doing that. When Takemura smiled, she forgot he was corpo to the bone, forgot that ice ran through his veins and that by walking away from her, he’d hurt her more than any man or woman ever did.
10 - Stay
“I thought you wanted to go back to your old life,” she said, shuddering at the thought. “They would have only shackled me again if it hadn’t been for you.” Takemura turned his head on the pillow and looked at her; the warm glow was back in her eyes, the glow that only he was allowed to see.
