My first camera, which happened to be a hand-me-down that my parents didn't really use anymore, was a Minolta X370, so I've always had a fondness for Minolta, even though they no longer make cameras. Anyhoo, at some point in the past, I picked up a Minolta Dimage A1, which was one of their last cameras before they started rebranding things as Konica Minolta. Its pretty nice, given its age, though the UI is pretty dated and messy and takes some getting used to. But some of these old relics of tech are pretty nice to use, and still can put out nice photos!

Rt. 66, California [2019]

i remember this week vividly, i had a bad weekend and flew to LA on a sunday and had to drive to Las Vegas by Thursday night; working along the way. after finishing the first work site i immediately bought all the weed shit i would need and left LA towards lancaster, boron and through till Rt. 66 started. this was taken somewhere before Amboy.

and yes i took a picture of the sign in amboy, it was my first full year of doing photography and i took photos with wild abandon. at the time i wasn't aware of the vice grip that sign had on film photographers balls. life is funny, i haven't taken a photo of that sign the two other times i had passed through.

P.S. if you ever go to amboy, there's two big ass buildings before you get into "town". i sat in one of them for 2 hours and just stared at the extinct volcano the entire time, the sign sucks, go to the volcano
