Took a walk with a short roll of film to test out a very old camera I had just cleaned up. Brutal day out there, 89º and 80% humidity.

Peppers from the garden shot on Svema CO32 (exp 10/69). I was able to find out enough about this film to know it wasn't suitable for any current standard chemical process. What I wound up doing was developing in L110 (HC110 equivalent) like a standard b&w negatives. I then bleached in potassium ferricyanide over a few hours, exposed to sunlight then redeveloped in a batch of C41 chemistry I was about to throw out. The b&w negatives looked fairly clean but somewhere in the bleaching, exposure and colour development process some interesting character flaws were introduced.

From the Vaults.

The Blue Heron paper plant in Oregon City. This was an image from my latest exhibit called "The Night Shift." It's the first image I took with my Kodak Commercial 8x10 camera. This is a scan from the proof sheet, not from the final print that hung in the exhibit.

I was inspired to take this image by the industrial photography of Ansel Adams. I have always liked old things. I seek out landscapes and cityscapes that remind me of the early to mid 20th century.

Camera: Kodak Commercial 8x10

Lens: 12" Kodak Ektar

Film: Ilford HP5 developed in Kodak HC110.

Červený filtr, HP5 a nahá modelka

Tak dlouho hledáte modelku před objektiv, až jednoho dne zjistíte, že o jednu několik let doslova zakopáváte. No, naštěstí jsem se asi drcnul do hlavy, rozsvítilo se mi a fotoakci jsme si úspěšně domluvili. Podmínky byly ale vyloženě legrační:Byl toho času duben, teploměry atakovali stupeň číslo 3O, obloha pravidelně vymetená a čas čekat na zlatou hodinku tak nějak chyběl. Bude se fotit…

Holga 120N + Ilford Pan F Plus + D76

@holgaweek is nearing and this year I'm gonna try something a little different.

First off, I'll be developing my shots using Legacy Pro L110, a cheaper yet functional equivalent to Kodak's HC110. First time using it. Should be interesting. I'll get out this week to shoot a roll of HP5 Plus 400 using my trusty old Holga Mods 120N and do a test dev before Holga Week starts. 1/31 solution seems to be the standard.

I have a bag of D76 for back-up, in case things go awry.

During HolgaWeek I'm going to shoot with two stock 120Ns, one loaded with FP4 the other with HP5. That'll cover bright light/low light situations. With any kind of luck I'll probably shoot two rolls of each.

The different part about this is the Holgas are attached to each other via the tripod mount, secured with a little bit of hook'n'loop.

This year's HolgaWeek selfie should be interesting.
