☃Prompt: All I Want For Christmas Is You
12-1-23
You and Minjae are childhood friends, you've experienced everything together, first loves, heart breaks, first kisses and, more. You two have always been inseparable, knowing each other like the back of your hand.
Which is how you knew something was off with Minjae today, "Jae" you called out for him, snuggling deeper into your thick winter coat, Minjae averted his eyes from the tall Christmas tree in front of him, "yeah?" He responded turning to look at you, his eyes softened seeing you shiver even though you had multiple layers on, "can we go in there for a bit? To defrost?" You asked pointing to the small warm cabin off to the side of the trail, Minjae nodded grabbing your hand.
"Jesus, you are freezing" Minjae mumbled, his warm hand enclosing on your freezing one, "where are you gloves" Minjae clicked his tongue at you, looking at you with disapproving eyes "I took them off to feel the tree back there" you mumbled, pointing back down the trail, "and you didn't put them back on?" Minjae asked, blowing hot air on your hand, you shook your head 'no'.
You heard Minjae sigh "come here" he said pulling you into his open coat, holding you close to his body, zipping the coat up once you were securely settled in his jacket, facing you forward so you could still walk to the small warm cabin, your face flushed as your body heated up, even tho you've been close to Minjae more times than you could count, this time felt different, almost romantic.
Minjae wrapped his arms around the front of his jacket completely encasing you, although he had to slightly waddle to walk he didn't mind it, "thank you.." you mumbled your shivering stopped letting your voice become steady, "don't thank me" Minjae said, you could practically hear the eye roll, "wait I think I'm warm enough I don't need the cabin anymore" you commented stopping in front of another big tree, Minjae looked over your shoulder "but your face is still extremely red" Minjae said, worried he put his hands on your cheeks.
Your cheeks went to a darker shade of pink, Minjae watched the color darken from the light of the Christmas tree In front of you, he thought for a moment, connecting dots in his head, to test his theory out he placed a small kiss on your cheek, your eyes went wide and your cheeks darkened "I was right!" Minjae giggled, Looking over your shoulder you see Minjae looking at you with a huge smile on his face.
Minjaes smile softened as he leaned closer, stopping as your nose touched his "can I kiss you?" He asked barley above a whisper, you nodded closing your eyes, Minjae closed the small distance between your lips, savoring the moment before pulling back making a small 'chu' sound making both of you giggle. Leaning back into his chest resting your body weight on him, Minjae held you up, leaving a small peck on your lips.
The two of you stood there for awhile enjoying the warmth from one another, before Minjae spoke up, "does this mean we're together?" He asked softly, you thought for a moment before smiling and making a soft hum sound, confirming his question, Minjae let out a small noise of happiness, making you laugh, He laughed along although embarrassed, you and Minjae walked the rest of the Christmas trail with you in his jacket, he stole kisses every now and then, both of you beyond cloud nine(9) practically drunk off each other.

A PIN STRAIGHT TO MY HEART
Tumblr media
PAIRING: jungwon x fem!reader
GENRE: high school au, classmates to lovers, acquaintances to lovers, fluff
SYNOPSIS: the famous decelis academy confession board is where students pin their written feelings on an anonymous sticky note in hopes of their crush reading it. for y/n, this is the perfect opportunity to finally come to terms with the feelings she has for her classmate--yang jungwon. she has everything planned out, from the color of the sticky note she would be using (blue, it's jungwon's favorite color) to the location she would pin it on the board (smackdown in the middle of the decorative heart the student council put up for valentine's day ages ago). but what happens when y/n sees jungwon pinning his own confession note mere seconds before she planned to?
WARNINGS: mutual pining, little jealousy, swearing, reader is a little oblivious, reader uses she/her pronouns, mentions of other idols (sunoo, niki, wonyoung, minji, rei, intak, minjae)
WC: 5.3k
NOTE: hello everyone! here's my first fic, sorry that it took so long! i hope that the wait from the teaser wasn't bad! and ofc i'm open to any and all feedback :) pls enjoy the read!
Tumblr media
"should i do it?"
wonyoung sighed for the nth time. "y/n, you ask me this every ten minutes and i give you the exact same answer. do it! there's nothing to lose since it's anonymous."
"yeah, but i want him to know it's from me," y/n mumbled, picking at the food on her lunch tray.
"then put your name on it."
"but what if he rejects me after that?"
"then don't put your name on it."
"but i need him to know that i like him!"
"goddamn it, y/n!" wonyoung groaned, massaging her head with her hands. "at this point just confess in person. you're really stressing me out here."
y/n rolled her eyes. "but i have like a 99.999999999% chance of rejection if i do that."
"and that's why we decided to do the confession board!" wonyoung retorted. "look, we're getting nowhere with this, so i suggest that you take my advice and- you're not even listening to me."
wonyoung was right--y/n was indeed not at all listening to her. not when the yang jungwon just entered the canteen in all his glory.
crisp uniform, broad shoulders, fluffy hair, and those gorgeous eyes. yang jungwon was just as attractive as he was yesterday. and the day before. and the day before that. scratch that, since freshman year.
the first time y/n met jungwon was in freshman biology, where they were partnered up to dissect a frog. it had been a few months since they had been in the same class, but y/n never interacted with him until they were paired together for the lab. in spite of her ridiculous comments and irritatingly loud reactions, jungwon has completed the lab calmly and with ease, even caring to explain everything she had missed while revolting at the sight of their frog.
once freshman jungwon handed in their neatly written lab report and shot a reassuring (and adorable) smile to his lab partner, y/n knew that the heat rising in her face and the rapid beating in her chest meant that she had taken a liking towards this boy.
and since then, y/n had reserved her heart for the one and only boy who managed to make her tummy flutter with giddiness.
of course, that was from way back in freshman year. has she made any progress since then? absolutely not.
even though the famous decelis academy confession board had been a temptation every single year, y/n simply could not bring herself to pin her feelings on it. but after reading hundreds of anonymous confessions, y/n had decided to finally get over her hopelessness and muster up the courage to post a note of her own. she had an intricate plan set in stone:
step one - purchase blue sticky notes (because blue is jungwon's favorite color) and dog stickers (because y/n found out that he has an adorable dog after stalking his instagram)
step two - write out a heartfelt confession that does not give away y/n's identity but still shows some hints to who she is (this would take several trials)
step three - arrive at school at exactly 8:25 AM on thursday, which is when everyone is trying to get to homeroom and will not be around the confession board located next to the art studio
step four - pin the note right in the middle of the heart from valentine's day so that it's extremely hard to miss
step five - pray that yang jungwon reads it and feels the same and asks y/n out and starts dating her and proposes to her and marries her and they live in a nice house with two kids and a dog until they grow old together
well, step five was pretty unreasonable but the rest of the plan would work! as long as y/n stopped staring at jungwon and actually started to listen to her friend, who was trying to get her to even begin step one.
"if you don't do this, some other girl might snatch him away," wonyoung commented, picking up her chopsticks and pointing them at y/n accusingly. "so you better get to work."
"okay okay, i'll do it!" y/n replied with a soft sigh following her words. "i just hope he reads it."
"he will. as long as you actually make the note," wonyoung added. "you do this every single wednesday. make this one the last time this happens."
"okay, jesus. i will. oh my fucking god."
wonyoung's lips curved into a smile. "good."
Tumblr media
8:25 AM on a thursday. y/n was already at school, looking around the arts building for the confession board with her note in her hand. she had spent three hours crafting the perfect confession note for jungwon (the pile of crumpled sticky notes in her trashcan is enough proof of that), neatly writing out each word and carefully decorating it with little dog stickers.
she mentally crossed out step three of her plan as the wood border of the bulletin board came into her sight. it was perfect. an empty hallway with the lights dimmed down and no sounds of other students. this was her one chance to finally pin her confession to the board.
she smiled while looking at the board that was mere steps away. the spot smackdown in the middle of the large pink heart was empty, just as planned. the universe was most definitely on her side.
suddenly, y/n could hear footsteps coming from the opposite end of the hallway. panic rushed to her head as she quickly hid behind a wall near the board, stuffing the note in the pocket of her school blazer.
she peeked her head out to observe whoever was passing by. maybe it was just a teacher. or the janitor. or the theater director. either way, she needed the coast clear for her to pin her note.
the person turned around the corner, closing in on the confession board. y/n squinted her eyes, trying to catch any noticeable features. school uniform, broad shoulders, styled black hair- wait, was that yang jungwon?
y/n's eyes widened as she swallowed down the anxiety in her throat. why was yang jungwon at the confession board at (now) 8:26 AM on a thursday?
jungwon approached the confession board, his back facing y/n from her hiding spot. she could see him pull out something from his pocket and reach over to the container of thumbtack pins to the left of the board. was yang jungwon really posting a confession note?
y/n's suspicions were confirmed when he pushed a red pin through a pink sticky note, right in the empty space in the middle of the pink heart. she could feel her heart beating rapidly as she watched him walk away leisurely, fear creeping into her head once again.
she paused for a minute, unable to calm the pounding in her chest as she slumped against the cold wall. taking one last glance at the board, y/n pushed herself off of the wall and turned around, deciding to head to class.
a million questions were running through her head, but only one overshadowed any other thought she had: did yang jungwon just post a confession to another girl?
Tumblr media
y/n felt her frown tugging even further down her face throughout the day. of course, the confession board was a hot topic every single day--especially when someone adds a new sticky note to the board. but y/n didn’t expect that the identity of the author who wrote the latest pink sticky note would be revealed so soon.
“jungwon apparently told a classmate that he wrote it, but he won’t say who it’s to,” a student said while passing y/n’s desk.
and there was that. the mystery recipient. the person who ruined all of y/n’s plans. all she wanted to do was finally confess her feelings with the hope that they could be returned. but what was the point of doing that now when her crush had already confirmed that he has feelings for another girl?
“i think it’s to minji, she’s been talking to jungwon a lot recently.”
y/n let out a frustrated huff after hearing that. she wasn’t in the mood to listen to people talk about possible candidates for jungwon’s mystery crush, especially when she barely had any chance of filling that spot.
wonyoung could only frown sympathetically, watching her friend's gloomy state. she knew how much this confession meant to y/n, but neither of them could have predicted that things would turn out this way.
“do you wanna get food, babe?” wonyoung asked, gently rubbing y/n’s head that was face-planted on her desk. “maybe a snack will help.”
“nothing can cure what i’m feeling right now,” y/n grumbled.
“you need to get up. you’ve been stuck at your desk for almost all of our break.”
“i don’t feel like getting up.”
wonyoung sighed before standing up and stretching her arms. “come on, let’s go get you something to eat. i’ll treat you.”
y/n groaned while sliding out of her seat. “i’m only doing this for free food,” she muttered as wonyoung linked arms with her.
“yeah, yeah. whatever.”
wonyoung practically dragged y/n by the arm to get to the snack shop, trying to avoid lingering in the hallway when everyone was talking about jungwon’s note.
"did you hear that jungwon confessed to someone? he confirmed it himself!"
"i think he likes rei, she's close with his friend niki."
"it has to be to minji, she's literally the only woman he'll look at."
y/n huffed at the comments flying around her with an uneasy feeling at the pit of her stomach. it upset her to imagine jungwon with another girl, staring into her eyes with love glassed across his own. she squeezed tighter onto wonyoung's arm as they swerved through the crowd, reaching their destination as quickly as possible.
unfortunately, luck was not on their side. the person y/n least wanted to see at the moment was standing at the drinks shelf, surrounded by some of his friends--and minji.
"yang jungwon!" y/n sharply hissed at wonyoung, pulling on the sleeve of the taller girl's blazer. "yang fucking jungwon is here! with minji!"
her friend turned to glance at the said boy and girl and rolled her eyes. "ignore him, let's go get our food."
y/n allowed wonyoung to drag her to the shelf stocked with savory snacks, shooting a small glare at minji before turning her head around.
what she didn't notice was that yang jungwon had recognized her presence the moment she turned around. he held the cold watermelon soda closer to his chest in an attempt to calm his racing heart.
"i don't know why people think it's me, i'm already in a relationship," minji sighed, fiddling with the strawberry milk in her hands.
"well, you do spend a lot of time with jungwon," niki reasoned, leaning against a nearby wall. "at least in terms of girl-space-friends. he doesn't have a lot of game."
"but some people think it's rei and she doesn't spend a lot of time with jungwon," minji countered. "actually, i don't think i've seen them interact since they've been introduced to each other."
"so if it's not minji or rei, who is it?" sunoo questioned.
all three students turned to look at jungwon, who slowly snapped out of his daze. "huh?"
"who'd you write the note to, won?" minji asked.
"i don't think i can answer that," jungwon mumbled, clenching the soda can tighter. "i'd prefer to keep that private."
"come on, we're your closest friends!" niki groaned, frowning at jungwon's response. "you can tell us--in exchange, we'll help you get the girl."
jungwon paused, pondering over niki's offer for a moment with his friend's eager stares fixated on him. he let out a brief sigh before answering, "fine. i'll give you a small hint."
his friends gasped, anticipation evident on their faces. jungwon took another quick glance at y/n, who was searching for seaweed-flavored chips, and felt the fluttering feeling in his stomach once again.
"she's in this room with us. right now."
his friends looked at each other with confused expressions. "it's just us four and the cashier...and intak..and minjae...and wonyoung...and y/n," sunoo listed, scanning the entire snack shop.
"the cashier? be so fucking for real right now bro," niki scoffed with a disgusted look on his face. "she's like, 70."
"no, what the fuck?" jungwon grimaced. "i mean someone our age. who do you take me for?"
"oh, i think i know who it is!" minji exclaimed with a smile. "it's y/n, isn't it?"
jungwon widened his eyes. he could feel a sharp rush of heat to his cheeks as he gulped at the mention of her name. minji let out a small chuckle at the boy's obvious reaction.
"really? you haven't talked to her since, like, freshman year," sunoo said, judging the reaction he just witnessed.
"yeah, but she's just so- ugh, you wouldn't understand. did you know that she braids her hair when she's stressed?"
"you're such a creep," niki sighed disappointedly. "no wonder you were always staring at her in class."
"look, she was doing it in first year history during our mock exam and i asked her about it," jungwon explained before glaring at niki. "i am not a creep."
"does she know your note's for her?" minji asked.
"no, i don't think so," jungwon replied with a small frown forming on his face. "i don't even think she likes me back. i mean, i don't really talk to her so i probably just seem weird."
"a creep," niki corrected, poking jungwon's shoulder harshly. "you seem like a creep."
"shut up."
"well, we can help you talk to her again so that you can show your interest," sunoo offered while tucking his phone into the back pocket of his uniform pants. "like right now."
the pink-haired boy whipped his head around to where y/n and wonyoung were standing, who had moved onto the bakery section.
"wonyoung! y/n!"
jungwon smacked sunoo immediately after the two girls' names left his mouth. "what the fuck are you doing," he muttered, trying to clench his lips together to seem like he wasn't talking.
"uh, helping you? duh," sunoo replied with a roll of his eyes.
meanwhile, the two girls stood across the snack shop, frozen with multiple bags of snacks in their arms.
"why did jungwon's friend say our name?" y/n questioned, also clenching her lips in fear that her crush would notice her talking about his friends. "and how does he know we exist?"
"the question is actually how does he know you exist," wonyoung responded before pulling y/n's arm. "come on, let's go see what he wants."
"no!" y/n whisper-yelled. "i can't...he's there...and minji's there..."
"you'll survive," wonyoung sighed. "we're going and that's final."
ignoring her friend's protests, wonyoung dragged y/n over to the group of four. "hi sunoo, what's up?"
"nothing, jungwon just wanted to tell y/n something," sunoo replied with a grin, causing jungwon's eyes to widen in concern.
"he did?" y/n mumbled.
"i did?" jungwon whispered, shooting a glare at sunoo's smiling face.
jungwon glanced at y/n but quickly looked away, swallowing down the nervous bundle in his throat. he didn't know if he could contain himself if he looked one second longer into her curious eyes.
he cleared his throat for an unnaturally long time, causing his friends to send questioning looks towards him. "um, yeah, uh...i, well, i was wondering..."
y/n found herself slightly leaning towards the anxious boy, which only caused jungwon's heart to beat faster.
"uh...do...do you have history next?"
niki rolled his eyes while minji felt the need to facepalm herself.
y/n shot a glance at wonyoung before responding, "um, yeah. why?"
"well, uh..." jungwon felt himself breaking out in a sweat, panicking to make up an excuse. "i was...uh-"
"he wanted to offer his notes to you since he just had history," sunoo quickly covered. jungwon blinked before nodding, swallowing down his anxiety once again.
y/n's eyes widened. it was common for jungwon, an intelligent and diligent student, to offer help to people in academics. but what shocked her was the fact that he offered her his history notes--as if he knew that it was her weakest subject.
she didn't hesitate to accept the offer, sending a wave of relief over jungwon. "uh, i'll drop them off once i get back to my classroom."
"yeah, no problem. thanks for the notes!" y/n replied, shooting a small smile at the boy before allowing wonyoung to drag her to the register.
once the duo was far enough, jungwon turned around to face his friends with an excited smile curled on his face. "did you see that? she smiled at me!"
"yeah, no thanks to yourself," sunoo grumbled. "i did all the work. for free!"
"you're too awkward, jungwon," minji sighed, a pained expression on her face.
"i think you should stick to being a nerd," niki commented. "it...suits you better."
niki spent the rest of the break running away from said nerd.
Tumblr media
y/n slumped in her seat, resting her cheek in her left hand and tapping her foot on the ground. she checked the clock above the blackboard. 10:27 AM. three minutes left for jungwon to fulfill his promise.
she let out another sigh. she didn't expect herself to anticipate much from the exchange--after all, he was just offering her his history notes. but she found herself rushing back to her classroom, waiting (and struggling to wait) for his presence at the doorframe while each minute dragged on.
10:28. a frown etched onto y/n's face. the day seemed to just get worse and worse. first, her confession was ruined by her crush himself. next, her crush proceeded to post a confession to another girl. now, her crush failed to complete a promise two minutes before her least favorite class.
another moody sigh. y/n lazily reached into her bag, pulling out her history textbook and her pencil case. she should've known to never trust men, like her mother said. all men are liars.
she slowly flipped through her textbook, feeling her frown drag down even further. the classroom was bustling with chatter, savoring the last couple of minutes before another hour long class. but here she was, slouching in her seat with a gray thundercloud above her head. she could practically visualize wonyoung looking at her pathetically from across the room.
the room came to a sudden silence. y/n sluggishly raised her head. was their history teacher here early?
there he was. yang jungwon, frozen at her classroom's doorframe with a notebook in his hand. his cheeks were flushed with a light pink as he weaved through the students, approaching y/n's desk.
y/n felt herself stop breathing. he did come to fulfill his promise, after all. huh. maybe not all men are liars.
jungwon bashfully smiled at her, gently placing his notebook on her desk. he wasn't hard of hearing, he could tell that everyone was whispering about him--more specifically, about his confession note. all he could hope for was that his crush wasn't super obvious, but he was sure that what he was doing at the moment actually made it 10x more obvious.
"um, here's my notes," jungwon said in a hushed voice, conscious of the sudden volume change. "hopefully they're useful."
"thanks..." y/n mumbled, making eye contact with the boy for a mere second before glancing away. it was too hard for her to contain the pounding feelings in her heart, especially when the yang jungwon had his eyes on her (and only her).
she could only imagine a world where he would stare at her, eyes filled with love and adoration.
"no problem," jungwon replied, noting to himself about how cute she looked today. if only he could sit next to her, one arm around her shoulder and another guiding her through the history material. he would never forgive the administrator who put them in separate classes.
"um, aren't you going to be late?"
y/n's comment snapped him out of his trance, suddenly realizing that he was still standing in front of her desk with students around him still whispering about his confession note. awkward.
jungwon shut his eyes close for a second. she probably thinks i'm a creep. niki, i guess you're right.
"uh, yeah. i'll just...i'll go now."
he mustered up a little courage to send a small wave before rushing out of the room, eyes glued to the floor in front of him.
y/n let out a quiet snicker, finding the boy's awkwardness humorous (and extremely cute). unfortunately, she realized too late that everyone's eyes were still on her and coughed unnaturally loud to cover up her previous reaction.
the sound of heels clicking caused all the students' eyes to rip away from her and immediately slide into their seats. their history teacher was finally here, ready to lead another sleep-inducing lecture.
"good morning class," the history teacher, ms. choi, announced. "please turn to page 127 of your textbooks. we're picking up where we left off from last class with the silla dynasty."
y/n reached for jungwon's notebook as the students around her searched for the page in their textbooks. she easily found the respective page of notes due to the sticky note jungwon had marked the page with.
such a cute pink, y/n thought, brushing her thumb over the familiar-colored sticky note. too bad he used it for a different girl.
Tumblr media
it was twenty minutes into the class and y/n found herself extremely bored. although jungwon's notes were perfectly organized and super helpful, y/n couldn't help but feel her attention span slowly decreasing. the textbook was boring, the content was boring, and ms. choi's voice was boring.
she decided to flip through jungwon's notebook. as expected, all of his notes were neatly written with key ideas highlighted and citations to textbook pages. what else could she expect from him?
y/n closed the notebook, running her thumb along the edge of the pages like a flipbook. the glimpses of blue highlighter partially satisfied her boredom, along with the flash of pink at the very end of the notebook. wait, pink?
y/n's curiosity got the best of her as she turned to the end of the notebook, revealing multiple pink sticky notes with lengthy paragraphs and words scratched out in black ink. being the nosy person she is, she decided to read the notes, tuning out ms. choi's monotonous voice.
i've liked you for a long time, but i haven't had the courage to confess.
oh. they were drafts of his confession note.
y/n pursed her lips, taking in a sharp breath. she swallowed down the discomfort she felt and continued to read the notes.
ever since freshman year, i've been attracted to you in so many more ways than i can describe. that sweet smile you show off to your friends. the laugh you let out at small jokes. the tenderness in your eyes as you talk with the cashier in the snack shop. i see why she said that you remind her of her granddaughter.
y/n bitterly smiled. he really likes her, huh?
i like am in love am pathetically in love with you. i feel like a lost puppy, hoping for the smallest interaction with you every single day. i wonder if you can feel my stares from across the lunch room, desperately hoping that you would happen to notice me and look back. i know we haven't talked much since freshman year, but i can't help but imagine us together.
y/n quickly diverted her eyes to a different sticky note, chewing on her lip harshly. she didn't know why, but she couldn't stop reading them, even if his words only caused her more pain.
i hope you can accept this confession, but if you don't like me back i hope we can become friends again. from, your freshman bio partner (p.s. i'm glad that we were paired up for that frog lab)
wait, frog lab? y/n's eyebrows furrowed. the only partner jungwon had for the frog dissection lab in freshman biology was...her.
y/n's heart pounded against her chest. she needed to read whatever note jungwon posted on the confession board, right fucking now.
Tumblr media
the moment the bell rang, y/n shoved all of her history materials in her bag. she didn't want to spare a minute from reaching that damned confession board that she had been avoiding since morning.
grabbing jungwon's notebook, y/n joined the crowd of students rushing towards the canteen, forgetting about wonyoung who appeared behind her.
"let's eat with rei today, hm?" wonyoung suggested.
"can't talk right now, won. i need to be somewhere," y/n responded before pushing her way through the crowd.
"y/n, wait!"
y/n ignored her friend's concerned voice, mentally making a note to apologize to her later. she ran through the halls, opposite of all the students heading towards the canteen. hugging the notebook close to her chest, she made a beeline towards the arts building, feeling the beating in her chest increase every single second.
once she arrived, she slowed down her pace, allowing herself to catch her breath and wipe off the light sweat on her forehead. there she stood in the same position she was in at 8:25 AM, right in front of the confession board littered with colorful sticky notes.
a couple of students lingered around the board, checking for any new confessions before heading to lunch. as y/n's breathing slowed down, she approached the center of the board, eyes locked on the pink sticky note posted mere hours ago.
she took a deep breath, mentally preparing herself to read the note she had been avoiding all day.
to my freshman year crush, i've liked you for a long time, but i haven't had the courage to confess. that is, until now. ever since freshman year, i've been attracted to you. your smile, your laugh, your kind personality. it's no wonder the cashier at the snack shop says that you remind her of her granddaughter. grandparents only say that to people they know have the purest, sweetest souls on earth, and you are one of them. i am utterly, pathetically, and desperately in love with you. i feel like a lost puppy, hoping for the smallest interaction with you every single day. i wonder if you can feel my longing stares from across the lunch room, hoping that you would happen to notice me and meet my eyes. i know we haven't talked much since freshman year, but i can't help but imagine us together. i wish that i had the courage to confess in person, but i'm afraid of rejection. i hope that this confession comes off well to you, and i 100% understand if you don't like me back. i just hope that we can be friends again, at the very least. from, your freshman bio partner (p.s. i'm glad we were paired up for the frog lab. as taylor swift said, i guess i was enchanted to meet you)
y/n felt her breathing stop as she finished reading the note. it was too good to be true. she needed to talk to him, to confirm with him, and to confess to him.
she wasted no time running to the canteen, earning questioning stares from the students she passed by. the canteen was busy per usual, bustling with student chatter and silverware sounds. y/n skimmed the room, eyes landing on the one person she wanted to talk to.
she rushed towards his table, avoiding the mass of lunch trays around her. "jungwon!" she called.
the said boy looked up from his table, curious round eyes meeting hers. "could i talk to you for a minute?"
jungwon nodded, standing up to follow y/n. what she didn't notice was sunoo winking at jungwon, niki mouthing a "go get her, tiger!", and minji softly smiling with pride.
jungwon followed y/n to the hallway outside of the canteen, trickling with the last students getting their lunches. y/n faced jungwon, feeling her cheeks heat up at the sight of his curious gaze.
"um, i wanted to return this to you," y/n began, handing over his notebook.
"oh, thanks," jungwon replied, taking it into his hands. he felt himself grow a little disappointed--was that all she wanted to tell me?
y/n softly cleared her throat before deciding to continue. "so, uh, this might be in invasion of privacy but i got really bored in history and looked through your notebook and i might have found your sticky notes and i might have read them...without your permission?"
"notes? what notes?" jungwon mumbled, flipping through his notebook. it only took a second of him skimming the sticky notes in the back for him to shut the notebook closed, a furious blush spreading across his face.
"and, uh, i read one that ended with 'from your freshman bio partner' or something like that and it mentioned the frog lab. and then i remembered that i was your partner during that lab but i wasn't sure if you wrote that for sure so i went to check the confession board and it said the same thing so...yeah."
jungwon was frozen, cheeks bright red with panic-stricken eyes. "so...uh, i just wanted to confirm if-"
"yes," jungwon whispered, not daring to meet her eyes. "it- it is about you..."
he squeezed his eyes shut at the sound of silence, preparing himself for rejection. he could already feel the weight in his heart getting heavier, thumping against his chest.
"i, uh, i- i like you too, jungwon."
the boy opened his eyes, shock evident on his face. he whipped his head up, now seeing a y/n with an equally flushed face not meeting his eyes.
"y- you do?"
"yeah," y/n mumbled, a shy smile spreading on her face. "i really, really like you."
jungwon couldn't help but smile back, trying his best to contain the butterflies practically swarming in his stomach.
"so, um, i was actually planning to confess to you today," y/n admitted, earning a surprised reaction from jungwon. "but i saw you post your note on the confession board first and i got scared because...well, i thought that you confessed to someone else."
y/n reached into her blazer's pocket, pulling out the crumpled blue sticky note that she had been hiding the whole day. "i guess i'll just give it to you now since...well, yeah..."
she quickly flattened out the sticky note before handing it to jungwon, who gently took it with a small smile.
to jungwon, i've liked you for so long but i've finally decided to confess. since freshman year, you've been nothing but kind to me. i felt myself melt into a puddle every single time you shot a smile at me or offered your help with something. i can’t help but admire your charming appearance, your charismatic leadership qualities, and the smile that you give to every person alike. you’re loved by so many people and i happened to fall into that same crowd. i know you most likely do not feel the same but i hope that we can talk more, the way we did back in freshman year. from, anonymous
jungwon couldn't help the shy grin growing on his face. every word written completely erased all the anxious emotions he had in his head. this is what it feels like, he thought. this is what it feels like to be loved back.
jungwon didn't need to say anything. he simply took y/n's clammy hand into his, intertwining their shaking fingers together. no words were needed after they had spent hours of their lives writing out their feelings for each other. they shared a smile, feeling secure together and lovingly gazing into each other’s eyes.
for the first time for the day, y/n was glad that jungwon had interrupted her confession, pining his heart on the board so that she could give him hers.

It’s always been you - Kim Mingyu
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They had always been little rivals, secretly liking each other much more than they would ever admit – they just didn’t realize it yet.
From this, love would bloom.

You had always loved the summer – when the weather was perfect, and you could visit the beach, hang out at the ice cream parlour, or lose yourself in a new book by the pool. Summer in Busan was incredible, and growing up there was the best.
But there was one part of your childhood that you didn’t miss.
Kim Mingyu.
Kim Mingyu was the neighbor’s son, and since our moms were best friends, we practically grew up together. Whenever our moms had their coffee dates, we’d be dragged along to play, which usually meant Mingyu teasing and annoying me endlessly.
At first, we got along well enough. But everything changed when we started school, and Mingyu met Jungkook.
Jungkook had been your first crush, and Mingyu knew it because he overheard a conversation between you and your best friend. From that moment on, Mingyu made it his mission to embarrass you. He told Jungkook that you still wet the bed sometimes, and after that, Jungkook wanted nothing to do with you.
Every day, you’d greet Jungkook sweetly, but over time, you gave up.
The three of you grew apart, and whenever your mom asked if you wanted to join their get-togethers, you found an excuse to avoid them.
When you moved to Seoul, you rarely heard about Jungkook or Mingyu anymore. You still followed each other on social media, but that was about it.
Now, as you sat on the train heading back to Busan, you realized you’d be seeing them again. Your mom was turning 50, and you couldn’t miss the party. Mingyu’s mom, Minjae, was hosting the event.
It was a surprise for your mom – she had no idea you’d be there.
When you knocked on the door, shifting nervously from one foot to the other under the scorching sun, Minjae opened it with a gasp. “Y/N! You look like you’re about to pass out. Come in, come in!” She hurriedly took your suitcase. “Where’s my son? Did you walk all the way here?”
You nodded while taking a sip of the water she handed you. “I waited for Mingyu, but he didn’t show up.”
Before you could explain further, the door swung open, and Mingyu walked in, clearly annoyed. “Mom, I waited for an hour. Y/N didn’t show up.”
“I didn’t show up?” You glared at him. “You idiot, you left me waiting in the heat!”
Mingyu scoffed. “My mom told me to pick you up from the South station.”
“South? I was waiting at the West station!” You shot back, incredulous.
Minjae gasped. “Oh dear, I’m so sorry! I must’ve mixed up the stations. That’s completely my fault.”
You sighed, laughing it off. “It happens. I’ll just get changed and head to the pool.”
As you picked up your suitcase, Minjae added, “By the way, you’ll have to share a room with Mingyu. His sister’s room had a pipe leak, so it’s unusable.”
You groaned internally but forced a smile. “That’s fine, we’ve shared a room before.”
In reality, it was far from fine. You’d rather sleep outside than share a room with him. But what choice did you have?
As you unpacked your things, Mingyu casually strolled in, acting as if nothing had changed between you two. “So, still mad about the station mix-up?” he asked with a grin.
You shot him a look. “Let’s just say you owe me a lot of ice cream.”
Mingyu chuckled, leaning against the doorframe. “Deal. But don’t think I’ll let you off easy. You still owe me for all those times you ditched us back in high school.”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help the small smile tugging at your lips. Maybe this weekend wouldn’t be so bad after all.
Tumblr media
At your mom’s birthday party, the tension only grew.
You wore a beautiful dress, one that hugged you in all the right places and shimmered softly under the evening lights. You felt confident, graceful even, as you moved through the crowd of guests. It was a special night, after all – your mother’s 50th.
Mingyu was there too, looking unexpectedly sharp in a fitted suit. He was talking with some family friends, laughing along with the group, but every now and then, his gaze drifted toward you. He tried to act like he didn’t notice, but the way his eyes lingered whenever you passed by made it clear – he thought you looked beautiful.
And you had noticed him too, though you’d never admit it. He’d grown into someone strikingly handsome, his presence more confident than before, but there was still something about him that annoyed you.
The party went on, with laughter and music filling the night air. Every now and then, Mingyu would find a reason to talk to you. He’d make small talk, ask if you needed anything, or simply stand next to you when there was no one else around. It was subtle, but enough for you to realize that avoiding him wasn’t working as well as you’d hoped.
Later in the evening, as the celebrations began to wind down, you found yourself sitting outside on the terrace, taking a break from the noise inside. Mingyu joined you a few moments later, holding two glasses of wine.
“Here,” he said, handing you one. “Thought you might need this after the long day.”
You accepted it with a small nod, unsure of what to say. The silence between you was thick, and for a moment, it seemed like neither of you would break it. Then, his voice cut through the quiet.
“You look… really nice tonight,” Mingyu admitted, his voice softer than usual, eyes focused on the stars above.
You glanced at him, caught off guard by his honesty. “Thanks,” you replied, your heart unexpectedly skipping a beat.
Before you could say more, your mom’s laughter echoed from the doorway, followed by Mingyu’s mom, Minjae. They were standing together, arms linked, watching the two of you from afar.
“Oh, look at them,” your mom said playfully, nudging Minjae. “I swear, those two are secretly in love with each other.”
Minjae giggled in agreement. “I’ve always thought so too. They just need to realize it themselves.”
You felt your cheeks heat up in embarrassment, and you noticed Mingyu shift awkwardly beside you, pretending not to hear their teasing. You both exchanged an uncomfortable glance, but neither of you said a word.
Maybe your moms were right. Or maybe they were just caught up in their own hopes and memories of your childhood. Either way, the idea lingered in the air between you, impossible to ignore.
The evening was in full swing, with soft music playing in the background and the sound of laughter filling the room. You tried to keep your attention elsewhere, but it was impossible to ignore Mingyu – especially when you saw him flirting with a stunning blonde across the room.
She laughed at something he said, leaning in a little closer, and you felt a sharp pang of jealousy rise in your chest. You hated the feeling. Why did it bother you so much?
As if sensing your gaze, Mingyu glanced in your direction, catching your eye for a split second. Panic surged through you, and before he could see the frustration written all over your face, you quickly made your way upstairs, needing a moment to breathe.
Once in your room, you leaned against the door, your heart racing. You hated how easily he could get under your skin. Just when you thought you had your emotions in check, there he was, messing it all up again.
A few minutes later, there was a knock at the door, followed by the sound of it creaking open. “Y/N?” Mingyu’s voice cut through the silence, his steps soft as he entered the room.
You didn’t turn to face him, not trusting yourself to stay calm. “What do you want, Mingyu?”
He sighed, walking closer until he was standing just a few feet away. “What’s going on with you? You’ve been acting strange all night.”
“I’m fine,” you muttered, crossing your arms in an attempt to shut him out.
“Doesn’t seem like it,” he persisted, his tone stubborn. “You ran off the moment I looked at you.”
You swallowed hard, trying to keep your voice steady. “I just needed some air. That’s all.”
Mingyu wasn’t buying it. He stepped closer, his eyes narrowing slightly. “You sure it doesn’t have something to do with the blonde downstairs?”
You froze, your heart thudding in your chest. “I don’t care who you flirt with, Mingyu.”
He smirked, clearly not believing you. “You’re jealous.”
“I am not jealous,” you snapped, but your voice betrayed you, a hint of frustration slipping through.
Mingyu’s smirk only grew wider as he took another step forward. The air between you felt charged, heavy with tension neither of you could ignore. Before you could process what was happening, he leaned in, his face inches from yours.
“You are,” he whispered softly, his breath warm against your skin. “And I think you’ve had a little too much to drink.”
Your heart raced as the scent of him filled your senses, the tension pulling you closer despite your better judgment. “So have you,” you replied, barely above a whisper, your body betraying you as you found yourself leaning in.
Suddenly, his lips were on yours, and any hesitation you’d felt evaporated in an instant. The kiss was electric, years of unspoken emotions pouring out all at once. Mingyu’s hands found your waist, pulling you against him as your fingers tangled in his hair.
Before you knew it, he lifted you effortlessly, carrying you over to the bed as your lips never left his. The room spun slightly, a combination of the alcohol and the heat between you, but none of it mattered. Nothing mattered except him in that moment.
He laid you down gently, his body hovering over yours as he kissed you deeper, his touch igniting every nerve in your body. You knew this was reckless, fueled by too many drinks and years of suppressed feelings, but you couldn’t stop. Neither could he.
The night blurred around you as you gave in to the moment, to the desire that had been building between you for so long.
Tumblr media
The next morning, you woke up with the sunlight streaming in, blinking away sleep as you glanced around the room. Your heart dropped when you spotted Mingyu lying naked beside you, the sheets barely covering him. Panic surged through you, and you quickly bolted from the bed, rushing into the bathroom.
Once inside, you turned on the shower, letting the hot water wash over you. You stood there for what felt like an eternity, trying to forget everything that had happened the night before. The warmth enveloped you, but it couldn’t erase the memory of your impulsive decision.
After what felt like ages, you finally stepped out, wrapping a bathrobe around yourself tightly. Taking a deep breath to steady your racing heart, you opened the bathroom door and stepped back into the room.
Mingyu was awake, scrolling through his phone. He looked up at you, a playful grin spreading across his face as he caught sight of you. The only thing covering his lower body was the blanket, but that didn’t make it any less distracting.
“Morning, sleeping beauty,” he said, his voice teasing but warm.
You tried to maintain your composure, feeling heat rise to your cheeks. “Don’t… don’t look at me like that,” you stammered, feeling flustered.
He chuckled, clearly enjoying your embarrassment. “Why not? You’re the one who made things interesting last night.”
You shot him an incredulous look. “Interesting? You mean reckless!”
He leaned back against the headboard, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “I’d say it was a lot of fun. But I guess you don’t remember all of it?”
Your stomach flipped at the implication. “I remember enough,” you replied defensively, crossing your arms.
Mingyu’s expression softened slightly. “Hey, it’s okay. We’re both adults here. It doesn’t have to change anything… unless you want it to.”
You hesitated, your mind racing. What did you want? The night had been exhilarating, but it also complicated everything. “I just need some time to think,” you said finally.
“Fair enough,” he replied, his grin fading a bit. “But just know, I’m not going anywhere.”
With that, he turned back to his phone, and you felt the weight of the moment hang in the air. You needed to sort through your feelings and decide what this all meant, but for now, all you could do was breathe and try to regain your composure.
Tumblr media
Later that evening, as you sat on the terrace, Mingyu finally found you. He leaned against the railing, his expression serious yet relaxed. “Y/N,” he began, “I’ve been thinking about last night.”
You tensed, your heart pounding. “What about it?”
He took a deep breath. “I thought it was… nice. Maybe we could make it a thing? Like a friends-with-benefits situation.”
Your stomach fluttered at his suggestion. It was reckless, but the thrill of it tempted you. “Are you sure that’s a good idea?” you asked, trying to mask your curiosity.
Mingyu smirked. “Why not? We both know there’s chemistry between us. No strings attached, just fun.”
You weighed the options, knowing it could complicate things further. But the excitement of being close to him again was hard to resist. After a moment of hesitation, you nodded. “Okay, let’s do it.”
His grin returned, a mix of relief and mischief. “Great. Let’s keep it casual.”
That night, you found yourselves tangled together once more, the boundaries of friendship blurred in the heat of the moment. The chemistry was undeniable, and as you lost yourselves in each other, you realized this new arrangement might just lead to more than either of you had anticipated.
Thinking about him even when you weren’t together, feeling a connection that went beyond physical attraction.
Tumblr media
One fateful night, however, everything changed. You returned to his room unexpectedly and walked in on Mingyu in bed with the blonde from the party. The sight hit you like a punch to the gut, and tears instantly welled in your eyes. You felt as if the ground had vanished beneath you.
Panicking, you turned and bolted downstairs, your heart racing and emotions spiraling. Mingyu called out after you, his voice echoing in the quiet house, but you didn’t stop. You couldn’t face him.
When you reached the living room, you spun around, breathless and trembling. Mingyu followed, completely naked, the shock on his face shifting to concern. “Y/N, wait!” he urged, desperation creeping into his voice.
As the tension in the room thickened, your emotions spilled over. “Just go back to her, Mingyu!” you shouted, your voice shaking with hurt.
He stepped closer, confusion mingling with defensiveness. “What are you talking about? It was just a bit of fun!”
“Fun? You think this is all just a game?” You couldn’t believe what you were hearing. “I thought we had something more!”
He crossed his arms, his expression hardening. “We agreed it was casual, Y/N. You knew that.”
“Casual?” you repeated, disbelief washing over you. “So I was just a fling? Just someone to pass the time?”
“Honestly, yeah,” he said, his words cutting like a knife. “It was nothing special.”
You felt your heart drop at his admission. “So, I mean nothing to you?” Tears stung your eyes as you struggled to comprehend his coldness.
“Don’t make this complicated,” he shot back, frustration evident in his voice. “You knew what this was. I never promised you anything.”
“Clearly,” you replied bitterly. “I thought we could be more than just a hookup. I thought you cared!”
“I didn’t owe you anything,” he said, shaking his head dismissively. “It was just supposed to be fun for both of us.”
The weight of his words pressed down on you. “So I’m just another girl to you? Nothing special at all?”
“Exactly,” he replied, his tone blunt. “That’s how it is.”
In that moment, you felt the reality of your situation crash down around you. You turned away, tears streaming down your face. “I can’t believe this. I deserve more than that.” With that, you grabbed your things and stormed out, the anger and heartbreak coursing through you as you realized you had to leave this behind.
Tumblr media
You decided not to tell anyone about what happened with Mingyu. The pain was too fresh, and you weren’t ready to share it. Instead, you focused on avoiding him as much as possible. Whenever your friends planned gatherings, you found excuses to skip out.
But then came the Thanksgiving parade, a local tradition you couldn’t ignore. The streets were filled with laughter, floats, and colorful decorations, but you felt a heaviness in your heart as you walked among the crowds.
As you turned a corner, you unexpectedly ran into Mingyu. The moment your eyes met, a wave of tension washed over you. You quickly looked away, ignoring him completely. He stood there, hands shoved in his pockets, his expression a mix of regret and frustration.
“Y/N,” he called out, taking a step toward you. “Can we talk?”
You didn’t respond, your heart racing as you turned and walked away. You could feel him following, his footsteps echoing behind you.
“Please, just wait!” he urged, desperation creeping into his voice. “I know I messed up. Just give me a chance to explain!”
But you didn’t want to hear it. The memories of that night flooded back, and you quickened your pace, weaving through the crowd. You needed to escape the reminders of everything that had gone wrong between you two.
“Y/N!” he shouted, his voice rising above the noise of the parade. “Don’t just run away from this!”
You felt a mix of anger and hurt, but you didn’t stop. The last thing you wanted was to relive the pain. You pushed through the throngs of people, determined to put as much distance between you and Mingyu as possible.
In that moment, you knew you were doing what you needed to protect yourself, even if it meant facing the day alone.
Tumblr media
Mingyu and his sister Minseo arrived with their mom for a visit, and the atmosphere was lively. You greeted them politely, trying to mask your feelings as you engaged in conversation. Minseo was friendly and easy to talk to, and you found yourself chatting with her more than you expected.
As the evening went on, you noticed Mingyu watching you from a distance, a mix of concern and uncertainty in his eyes. Eventually, he approached, attempting to break the tension.
“Hey, Y/N,” he said, his voice softer than usual. “How have you been?”
You felt your stomach twist. “I’ve been… okay,” you replied, keeping your tone brief.
He frowned slightly, sensing something was off. “Are you sure? You don’t look well.”
You didn’t want to get into it, so you shrugged. “I just haven’t been feeling great lately. I think I need to rest.”
Before he could respond, you excused yourself, feeling the weight of his gaze on your back as you headed upstairs. Once in your room, you closed the door and leaned against it, taking a deep breath. The last thing you wanted was to confront the feelings swirling inside you, especially with Mingyu so close. You needed some time to gather your thoughts.
You took a moment to collect yourself, trying to push aside the emotions that had been bubbling up since Mingyu’s arrival. The walls of your room felt both comforting and suffocating, a stark contrast to the laughter and chatter you had left behind.
After a few minutes of silence, you lay down on your bed, staring at the ceiling. Your mind raced with thoughts of Mingyu, the unresolved tension between you two, and the feelings you had tried to bury. Just as you were beginning to calm down, you heard a light knock on the door.
“Y/N?” It was Mingyu’s voice, gentle and tentative. “Can I come in?”
You hesitated, not wanting to face him just yet, but something in his tone made you nod. “Yeah, sure.”
He opened the door slowly, stepping inside with an uncertain look. “I’m sorry if I made things awkward earlier. I just wanted to check on you.”
“It’s fine,” you replied, sitting up and forcing a smile. “I just needed a moment.”
He studied your face, concern etched across his features. “You really don’t look fine. Is there anything I can do?”
The sincerity in his voice caught you off guard. You felt a flicker of the connection you once had, but you quickly reminded yourself of everything that had happened. “Honestly, I just need some space.”
Mingyu nodded, looking disappointed but understanding. “Okay. I just… I care about you, you know?”
Those words hit hard, stirring emotions you thought you had under control. You looked away, unable to meet his gaze. “I know. But things are complicated.”
“I get that,” he said softly. “But I want to fix this, Y/N. Can’t we at least talk about it?”
You sighed, feeling torn. Part of you wanted to open up, but another part was terrified of where that conversation might lead. “Maybe another time,” you said, your voice barely above a whisper.
“Alright,” he replied, though you could see the disappointment in his eyes. “Just… take care of yourself, okay?”
With that, he turned and left the room, closing the door softly behind him. You lay back on the bed, feeling the weight of everything settle heavily on your chest. You needed to sort through your feelings, but for now, all you could do was think about the choices ahead.
Tumblr media
While helping your mom prepare for Thanksgiving dinner, you felt a knot of emotions building inside you. After a moment of hesitation, you finally said, “Mom, I think I might have deeper feelings for Mingyu.”
She looked up from chopping vegetables, her eyes brightening with interest. “Really? I’ve noticed how he looks at you. I think he feels the same way.”
You shook your head, brushing her off. “No, it’s not that simple. He’s with someone else, and I can’t just assume.”
“Just because he’s talking to someone doesn’t mean it’s over between you two,” she suggested. “You should talk to him about how you feel.”
Before you could respond, the doorbell rang, signaling Mingyu and his family’s arrival. You quickly set aside your swirling thoughts, shifting your focus to being a good host.
As everyone gathered around the table, the atmosphere buzzed with warmth and laughter. Mingyu sat directly across from you, and you felt the weight of his gaze more than once. Despite the underlying tension, there was a spark of connection that neither of you could ignore.
During dinner, Mingyu’s mom casually brought up Leona, the blonde from the party. “Mingyu and Leona are getting to know each other more seriously,” she said with a bright smile. The mention of her name sent a pang of jealousy through you, and you could see Mingyu nodding, though his expression was hard to read.
Suddenly, you felt a lump form in your throat, and panic set in. Before you could process it, you started to cough, choking on a piece of food. The room fell silent as everyone turned to look at you.
“Y/N!” your mom exclaimed, rushing to your side. Mingyu was right behind her, his eyes wide with concern.
“Are you okay?” he asked, his voice laced with worry. He leaned closer, his presence both comforting and overwhelming.
You managed to cough up the food and take a deep breath, feeling the heat of embarrassment wash over you. “Yeah, I’m fine,” you replied a little too quickly, trying to brush it off.
Everyone continued to look at you, concern etched on their faces. “Just a little too excited about the food, I guess,” you added, forcing a laugh, but the tension remained thick in the air.
Mingyu didn’t take his eyes off you, the worry still apparent. You could sense the underlying questions in his gaze, but you couldn’t bear to let him see how deeply his words about Leona affected you.
As the dinner continued, you tried to focus on the conversations around you, but the weight of the moment lingered in your chest. You felt torn between wanting to confront your feelings for Mingyu and the painful reality of his growing relationship with someone else.
That evening, as everyone mingled after dinner, you did your best to avoid Mingyu. You chatted with his sister and your mom, trying to distract yourself from the tension that hung in the air.
But then, as you retreated to your room for a moment of solitude, Mingyu quietly followed you inside. The door clicked shut behind him, and the moment felt charged.
“Y/N,” he said softly, his eyes searching yours. “I’ve missed you. I’ve really missed this.” He stepped closer, the sincerity in his voice making your heart race.
Before you could respond, he leaned in and kissed you gently. The warmth of his lips sent a shiver through you, and for a fleeting moment, you melted into the kiss, feeling the connection you had tried to deny.
But then, as reality hit, thoughts of Leona flooded your mind. You pulled back, your breath quickening. “Mingyu, wait,” you said, your voice trembling. “What about Leona?”
His expression faltered, confusion clouding his features. “What about her? We’ve talked, but it’s not like that with her.”
“Not like what?” you pressed, trying to hold onto your resolve. “You’re getting to know her seriously. I can’t just pretend that doesn’t matter.”
He stepped back, running a hand through his hair in frustration. “I thought we had something special, Y/N. I thought you felt it too.”
“I do,” you admitted, the honesty escaping before you could filter it. “But it’s complicated. I don’t want to be a rebound or a distraction.”
He took a deep breath, his eyes softening. “You’re not a distraction. I care about you. I thought maybe we could figure this out together.”
The conflicting emotions swirled inside you. You wanted to believe him, to step into the moment and embrace what you felt. But the thought of Leona lingered, casting a shadow over your heart.
“I need time,” you finally said, your voice barely above a whisper. “I can’t just jump back in without knowing where we stand.”
Mingyu nodded, understanding but clearly disappointed. “Okay. I’ll give you space. But know that I’m here, and I want to talk whenever you’re ready.”
With that, he stepped back, leaving you alone with your thoughts, the tension still heavy in the air. You sat on your bed, feeling the weight of the choices ahead.
You sat on your bed, the silence of the room settling around you. Mingyu’s words echoed in your mind, mixing with the confusion and uncertainty that had taken root in your heart.
You took a deep breath, trying to process everything. Part of you longed to run after him, to tell him that you felt the same way, but the reality of Leona’s presence kept you anchored in your doubts.
Later that night, you tossed and turned in bed, sleep eluding you. Thoughts of Mingyu and his kiss played on repeat, but so did the image of him with Leona, laughing and sharing intimate moments. You felt trapped between desire and self-preservation.
Eventually, you got up and made your way to the kitchen, hoping to distract yourself with a late-night snack. As you rummaged through the pantry, you heard footsteps behind you. It was Minseo, looking for a late-night treat as well.
“Can’t sleep?” she asked, her tone light.
You shrugged, forcing a smile. “Just thinking.”
“About Mingyu?” she probed, her eyes twinkling with curiosity.
You hesitated but decided to be honest. “Yeah, it’s just complicated. I’m not sure where we stand.”
Minseo nodded, leaning against the counter. “I know he cares about you. He’s been a bit different since the party. You two have a connection.”
“I thought so too,” you said, feeling the weight of your uncertainty. “But then there’s Leona. I don’t want to get caught in a messy situation.”
She considered this for a moment. “You have to do what feels right for you. But if you want to pursue something with him, don’t let someone else’s presence stop you. Talk to him.”
Her words struck a chord within you. You knew deep down that avoiding the situation wouldn’t help. You needed clarity, and the only way to get it was to confront your feelings head-on.
The next morning, you resolved to find Mingyu and have that conversation. After breakfast, you sought him out, finding him outside, leaning against the porch railing, lost in thought.
“Mingyu,” you called, your heart pounding as he turned to face you.
“Hey,” he said, his expression cautious but hopeful.
“I think we need to talk,” you said, feeling a surge of determination. “Can we sit down?”
He nodded, and you both settled on a nearby bench. The air was thick with anticipation as you searched for the right words.
“I’ve been thinking a lot about us,” you began. “About what happened the other night and what I really want.”
Mingyu listened intently, his eyes focused on you. “I want to hear it all.”
Taking a deep breath, you continued. “I can’t deny that I have feelings for you, but I also need to know what you want. I don’t want to be just a fling.”
He leaned in closer, his expression earnest. “You’re not a fling to me. I want to explore this—whatever ‘this’ is—together. But I need you to be honest with me too.”
“I am,” you replied, your heart racing. “I just need to know if you’re willing to put in the effort, especially with Leona around.”
Mingyu nodded, determination in his voice. “I’ll figure it out. I want to prioritize what we have.”
In that moment, a glimmer of hope sparked within you. It was a small step, but it felt like the beginning of something real. The road ahead was still uncertain, but at least now you were both willing to navigate it together.
You took a deep breath, feeling a sense of relief wash over you. “I want to explore this too, Mingyu. But I need reassurance that you’re committed to making it work.”
He nodded, his expression serious. “I promise you, I’ll figure things out with Leona. I don’t want to lose what we have.”
A wave of emotion surged through you. “It’s just hard seeing you with her, knowing you’re getting to know her better. I want to feel like I matter.”
“You do matter,” he insisted, reaching for your hand. “You’re not just another girl to me. You’re someone I really care about.”
His touch sent a warmth through you, grounding you in the moment. “I guess I just need some time to process everything.”
“Take all the time you need,” he said, squeezing your hand gently. “Just know I’m here when you’re ready.”
After a moment of silence, you both exchanged smiles, the tension easing between you. The conversation had lifted a weight off your shoulders, and you felt a flicker of hope for what could be.
As the days passed, you and Mingyu began to reconnect. You spent more time together, laughing and sharing stories, gradually rebuilding the bond that had felt strained. Each moment together reminded you of why you cared for him in the first place.
Tumblr media
One evening, while watching the sunset, Mingyu turned to you, his eyes reflecting the vibrant colors of the sky. “You know, I can’t stop thinking about how lucky I am to have you in my life.”
A shy smile crept onto your face. “Really? It feels nice to hear that.”
“I mean it,” he said, his voice sincere. “You’ve always been special to me. I want to make this work, no matter what.”
You felt your heart flutter. “I want that too, Mingyu. But I still need to know you’re serious about it.”
“I am,” he said, leaning closer. “Let’s take this one step at a time. No rush. Just you and me figuring things out.”
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow around you, you leaned in and kissed him gently. It felt right, the world around you fading away as you focused on the connection you both shared. In that moment, you knew you were ready to embrace whatever came next, together.
One afternoon, as you were sitting on a park bench, you couldn’t help but voice your concerns. “Mingyu, do you think you’ve really moved on from Leona?”
He paused, looking thoughtful. “I’ve talked to her, and I made it clear that I’m not interested in pursuing anything serious.”
Your heart raced at his honesty. “What did she say?”
“She understood. I think she felt the same way, but it was hard for both of us to admit. It just… wasn’t what I want,” he replied, meeting your gaze.
You nodded, feeling a mixture of relief and lingering apprehension. “I just want to make sure we’re both on the same page. I don’t want to get hurt again.”
“Neither do I,” he said, reaching for your hand. “That’s why I’m here. I want to make this work.”
As you walked hand in hand, a sense of calm washed over you. With every step, it felt as if the past was slowly fading away, making room for something new and hopeful.
Tumblr media
Then, one evening, Mingyu surprised you with a picnic under the stars. He laid out a blanket in a quiet spot, complete with your favorite snacks and drinks. The atmosphere was magical, the moonlight dancing on the surface of the lake nearby.
“This is perfect,” you said, smiling as you settled down on the blanket.
Mingyu grinned. “I wanted to do something special for us. I know it hasn’t been easy, and I just want you to know how much you mean to me.”
You felt your heart swell. “You have no idea how much this means to me.”
As the night went on, you shared stories and dreams, and the conversation flowed effortlessly. Eventually, the topic shifted to relationships, and you both found yourselves discussing your pasts, your fears, and your hopes for the future.
“I never thought I’d feel this way again,” Mingyu admitted, looking at you with earnest eyes. “You’ve changed everything for me.”
The sincerity in his voice sent butterflies fluttering in your stomach. “I feel the same way. I didn’t expect to care so much, but here we are.”
He moved a little closer, his gaze locked on yours. “I want to be more than just friends. I want us to be something real.”
Your heart raced as he leaned in, his lips brushing against yours in a soft, lingering kiss. In that moment, everything felt right. The world around you faded, leaving just the two of you wrapped in the warmth of your connection.
When you finally pulled back, you felt a sense of clarity wash over you. “I want that too, Mingyu.”
“Absolutely,” he replied, his eyes sparkling with excitement. “I’m all in."
As the night deepened, you both sat in comfortable silence, the sounds of the night surrounding you. Suddenly, Mingyu turned to you, his expression serious.
“Y/N, there’s something I need to tell you,” he began, his voice steady but filled with emotion.
Your heart raced, sensing the weight of his words. “What is it?”
He took a deep breath, his gaze unwavering. “I’ve loved you for a long time. Ever since we were kids. I just didn’t realize it until recently.”
You blinked, processing his confession. “You loved me? Even back then?”
He nodded, a soft smile appearing on his face. “Yeah. I remember those summers in Busan, all those moments we spent together. You’ve always meant something special to me, even when I was too young to understand it fully.”
Tears pricked your eyes as you reflected on those memories, the playful rivalry, and the undeniable connection. “I never knew. I thought it was just childish feelings.”
“It was more than that,” he insisted. “You were always the one I felt drawn to, and it’s only grown stronger over the years.”
You felt a mix of emotions—joy, disbelief, and vulnerability. “Mingyu, I never knew you felt that way. I thought I was just another friend.”
He shook his head. “You were never just a friend to me. I’ve tried to push those feelings aside, but seeing you again made me realize how much I want you in my life.”
Moved by his honesty, you reached for his hand. “I’ve developed feelings for you too, but it’s hard to shake off the past.”
“I understand,” he replied softly. “But I want to be with you. I want to explore this, no matter how complicated it gets. I’m willing to fight for us.”
Tears welled in your eyes as his words sank in. The weight of your shared history, combined with this new revelation, felt overwhelming. “I want that too, Mingyu.”
He nodded, squeezing your hand gently. “I’ve always been here for you, and I always will be.”
In that moment, surrounded by the quiet of the night, you felt a shift within yourself. The barriers you’d built began to crumble, making way for the love that had always lingered just beneath the surface. You knew this was just the beginning of something beautiful.

THE YULE DRAGON … holiday one - shot ( 17+ )
pairing : poly!dragon!ateez x witch!f!reader
genre : dragon au, fantasy au, holiday au, fluff, angst
word count : 4.3k
warnings : language, mentions of dragon hunters, talks about death, light injury but nothing major, one death threat
suffer tag : @sanjoongie and for anon who asked about any new chapters
note : very excited to write this, so let me know what you think! also here is a link to what y/n's dress at the yule gala looks like!
the winter month draws near and the clan prepares to celebrate the yule dragon festival for the first time in years. knowing this is wooyoung's first one with an actually clan, you want to make sure everything is perfect.
Tumblr media
when you woke up in the morning, you noticed how snow had slowly begun to fall and lay on the ground. you also couldn't help but notice how the dragons around you seemed to have been in good moods. smiles on their faces as they walked around and some even greeted you with warm smiles.
when you arrived at the nursery, the hatchlings all immediately greeted you. most of them run up and tackle you to the ground.
"miss y/n! miss y/n! did you see the snow?" one hatchling, jiyu, asked and you couldn't help but laugh as you nodded and pushed some hair out of her face.
"yes, i did. very beautiful isn't it?"
"not as beautiful as you, miss y/n!" another hatchling, minjae, said. the other hatchlings couldn't help but agree with minjae and you couldn't help but laugh at them all.
"prince mingi said that we will be able to celebrate the yule dragon festival this year!"
"the yule dragon festival?" you remember wooyoung telling you about the holiday years ago when you first met. you can't help but feel excited knowing he's going to enjoy a real one this year.
"yeah! it's been years since the clan last held one," seeun says and that quickly catches your attention. years? you thought the holiday was a yearly thing?
"alright, little ones, let's go ahead and get ready for the day," mingi comes in and ushers the hatchlings away from you in order to gather them in a line so they could eat.
you push your curiosity down for later as you go over to help mingi with the hatchlings. you watch the hatchlings with a warm fondness as they eat and talk to each other, and the rest of the day goes by in flash with you and mingi taking care of the young dragons.
"miss y/n, have you ever experienced a yule dragon festival before?" one of the hatchlings asked as they were laying down for a nap. the question of one hatchling seemed to have caught the attention of a few others around you two.
"not a proper one with a true clan, but me and wooyoung used to do a small celebration before we came to the clan," you said as you remembered your time with wooyoung back in your cottage. you can feel your cheeks heat up as you remember the first time you both celebrated the yule dragon together.
"do witches have any special holidays?" another hatchling, siyu, asked.
"we do but they're not like the yule dragon one. we focus more on what we are thankful for and mourning those that have left us," you explain.
"that sounds sad."
"sometimes it is sad, but then you have to remember that even those that left this world are still with us in spirit. watching over and guiding us on the right path of destiny," you say.
"but miss y/n, you don't have to be sad anymore because you have all of us!" one hatchling said with the others immediately agreeing and you couldn't help but smile at all of them.
"okay, okay, everyone," mingi says as he comes in and immediately calming all the hatchlings down. "its time to rest, not get excited."
"but prince mingi," minjae says looking towards the tall prince, "don't you agree that miss y/n doesn't have to be sad anymore, since she has all of us now?"
"of course," mingi says as he bends down to pet minjae's head, "but miss y/n still has a right to miss those that she lost. we all do. now come on, everyone, time to rest!"
you can't help but smile at how some of the hatchlings groan at mingi's words, but nonetheless all lay down in their little nooks. you and mingi go through and make sure each hatchling is comfortable before you leave the nesting room.
you watch as mingi closes the door behind him before he's offering his arm to you. you take his arm with a smile as he escorts the two of you back to the main palace wing.
"i meant what i said though," mingi begins and you look at him with a raised eyebrow, "that you have a right to be sad about those you lost, but also know that hatchlings are right as well and that you have all of us now. the hatchlings, me, wooyoung, yeosang, the others, and even the clan. you have all of us."
"thank you, prince mingi," you say, reaching up to press a kiss to his cheek and he smiles at you before quickly pressing his own kiss to your lips. "also," you speak up after you two continue to walk, "what did the little ones mean when they said its been years since you all had a yule dragon festival?"
"well... we haven't had one since hongjoong's parents and brother were killed. hongjoong didn't want to have a large one with the whole clan, so this is the first time in five years that we have celebrated it as such," mingi explains and you nod your head in understanding.
"what caused him to suddenly change his mind?"
"well you and wooyoung of course," you wanted to laugh at mingi's answer. more like just wooyoung, you think. you decide to remain silent as mingi guides you through the palace.
"this will be wooyoung's first yule dragon with an actual clan in years," you note as you notice many dragons setting up and decorating the palace corridors with festive decorations. you can't help but feel excited knowing that wooyoung will be able to experience the real thing after so many years of not having it with an actual clan.
your mind goes back to when you and wooyoung would celebrate together back at the cottage. both of you dressing up, decorating the cottage, and spending the entire night together. wooyoung taught you the dances that he learned. even when you weren't celebrating the dragon holiday, you would find wooyoung and yourself dancing and just enjoying each other's company.
"hey, mingi?" you caught the dragon's attention and he turns towards you as you continue to speak, "is there... a way i can help set up the festival?"
"oh! umm, i think so. seonghwa is usually in charge of things like this, but i volunteered to help him this time, so..."
"do you need help?" you ask, feeling an excitement bubble up in your stomach.
"of course you can help," mingi says, a wide smile on his face and you mirror his smile, beaming up at him. the two of you share a quick hug, mingi lets out a small laugh at your excitement, almost not expecting it.
"thank you," you say, pressing a kiss to his cheek before you are separating yourself from him. you notice the blush that covers his cheeks and ears and you have to stop yourself from pouncing on the tall dragon from how cute he is.
Tumblr media
as the next week goes by, you spend your time helping the dragons in the clan to decorate for the yule dragon holiday. at first some of the dragons were reluctant at accepting your help, but slowly and eventually they allowed for you to help with the decorations. sure they didn't trust you with the important stuff, but that was okay.
you only wanted to make sure everything was perfect for wooyoung, he needed to have the best yule dragon after everything he has done for you. you also wanted to make sure the clan had a good one as well, but wooyoung took priority in your heart.
"wow, look at these decorations, darling," yeosang's voice snaps you out of your thoughts and you look down from your spot on the wooden ladder to see your lover looking up at you with a smile. you finish hanging the silver garland before climbing down the ladder and yeosang is quick to press a loving kiss to your lips.
"thank you, me and the hatchlings made them," you say, feeling rather proud from how all the decorations have been turning out. many of the other clan dragons complimenting you on your hard work.
"you've been working so hard, a lot of the clan members are grateful for your help," he says as the two of you begin walking out of the grand hall, where the yule gala will be held tomorrow night. other dragons are busy around you all finishing up last minute details, with most of them stopping to bow at yeosang before scurrying away to finish their task.
"i have something for you, princess," he says once the two of you are out of the grand hall and you give him a confused look which only makes him smile. "it’s custom for everyone to wear special outfits, rather a little too fancy if you ask me, but people really enjoy it," he begins as the two of you continue to walk down the hall.
"and i bet you completely forgot to make sure you are prepared for the gala," yeosang teases and you felt yourself get flustered at his words. "but don't worry because you wonderful mate has taken care of you," he says as you both stop in front of your chamber doors. "i hired a seamstress to make you a dress and thankfully she managed to finish it in time."
"wait, yeosang– you... you didn't, you shouldn't have."
"but i did, and i wanted to. my darling, you have done so much, let me give you this," he says, cupping your cheeks before leaning over and kissing you. you feel yourself melt into the kiss as you press yourself closer to your lover, arms wrapping around his waist. the two of you only separate when you're out of breath and yeosang presses one last kiss to your lips before he's pulling away and opening the door to your bedroom.
when you stepped inside, you were completely shocked at the dress that rested on the mannequin in the center of your room. you had honestly never seen a dress more beautiful in your life and you felt yourself tear up because of it. you felt like you didn't deserve a dress as gorgeous as this.
"it's beautiful, yeosang."
Tumblr media
"you look absolutely beautiful, my fire," seonghwa says when he sees you walk into the grand hall.
the gala had been going on for several minutes, hongjoong lighting the ceremonial flame that burned in the center of the clan. you were amazed at the flame and its rather unique color, and mingi explained that this flame could only be lit by the leader of a clan and that it in order to celebrate the first dragon.
you honestly couldn't look away from the flame, almost like it was meant to entrance you.
"thank you, prince seonghwa," you said, bowing slightly to the eldest dragon prince. seonghwa could only smile as he took your hand into his before pressing a kiss to the back of your hand.
"make sure you enjoy yourself," he says, not yet letting go of your hand. "i want a dance before the night is over."
"of course, your highness," you say, a small smirk taking over your lips before seonghwa is nodding and making his leave. he does unfortunately have other people to see and talk to.
your eyes scan around the grand hall, looking for the head of familiar red hair and you feel your heart skip a beat when you finally find him. wooyoung looked absolutely handsome in his outfit and you were glad to see that he matched the other princes. it made your heart flutter knowing that wooyoung was being accepted by the clan.
you made your way over to your first lover, your feet picking up speed when you two made eye contact. you felt like it had been forever since you last seen wooyoung – however it had only been a few hours. you had been so caught up in making sure the festival and gala were perfect for him that you had completely forgot to pay the red-headed dragon attention.
so you immediately wrapped wooyoung in a tight hug once you were close enough. wooyoung was quick to return the hug, holding you close to him as he inhaled your scent before pressing a kiss to your neck.
"my y/n, you look so beautiful," he says as he twirls you around, the white-silver fabric that was decorated with beautiful shimmering stars and moons. wooyoung had seen the dress, yeosang having shown him before you and he knew you would look beautiful in it. but of course, seeing you actually in it he was blown away by your appearance.
"are you having a good time, woo?" you ask, heart beating rapidly waiting for his answer.
"of course i am," he says with a smile, "mingi mentioned how you helped out with this whole thing. any reason why?"
"you, of course," you say, both your hands linking with his. "this is your first yule dragon with an actual clan in a long time. i wanted to make sure it was perfect."
"oh love," he says, gently pulling the two of you off to the side, "you didn't need to do that. it would have perfect no matter what because i'm celebrating it with you. back at the cottage... i saw the two of us as our own little clan. and the yeosang joined," wooyoung says and you can't help but laugh at his last comment. despite mating and bonding with yeosang, wooyoung still couldn't get over the other dragon coming in basically setting up camp in your little cottage.
"you love yeosang, don't try to fool yourself," you tease and wooyoung grumbles a little bit before rolling his eyes.
"whatever."
you were about to say something when the sound of a familiar tune filled the grand hall. you turned to see a lot of the people gathering at the center and began dancing. you noticed mingi pulling yunho behind him to the dance floor with many of the other dragons cheering for the two tall princes. following them, you see yeosang and san dancing and you were a little surprised at seeing the blonde guard dancing and smiling as him and yeosang looked at one another.
"wow, who knew san could smile," wooyoung says and you crack a smile before turning to your lover.
"shall we join them as well?" you ask and wooyoung nods before he's pulling you towards the dance floor and you two quickly fall into a rhythm of the dance. the music easily guided you as you and wooyoung danced, you felt your whole attention center in on your lover and it felt like it was just the two of you.
you got flashbacks to when you and wooyoung would dance in your cottage. how back then it really was just the two of you and no one else, but now you were surrounded by people that even if they all didn't welcome you, they welcomed wooyoung. and even if you didn't feel welcomed at first, you have mingi, yeosang, the hatchlings.
seeing wooyoung smile and laugh and enjoy himself made you feel like you were on cloud nine. even if he wouldn't say it out loud, you knew wooyoung enjoyed being a part of the clan.
you felt the music guide you and your thoughts, as the music began to slow down you found yourself and wooyoung also slowing down. wooyoung pulling you close to him, his arm coming to wrap around your waist to hold you close to him.
"i have you had your ceremony?" wooyoung suddenly asks, snapping you out of your happy daze. you knew immediately what he was talking about.
"not yet, i was waiting till after the gala was over," you say, feeling a lump form in your throat at knowing what you would have to do later.
just like dragons, witches also had their own traditions and such. not as public as the yule dragon, but more intimate to each witch. celebrating those that you left you in this world. wooyoung has been with you during this ceremony like you have been with him for his. you don't know how many nights you have fallen asleep, crying in wooyoung's arms because of all the witches that have died.
"do you want me there with you?" he asks, and it takes you a moment to think about it.
"no, i'll do it alone this time."
"are you sure?" you nod your head, you didn't want to ruin wooyoung's good time here with your own traditions and ceremonies.
when the music changed once again, you pressed a kiss to wooyoung before stepping away, telling him you needed some fresh air.
"let me come with you," he says as he starts to trail after you, but you stop him.
"it’s okay," you say, hand out to stop him, "i'll be right back."
you don't give wooyoung a chance to say anything as you're turning and making your way to one of the many garden doors that lead out into the courtyard.
once the cold air hit your skin, you let out a sigh as you made your way over to one of the stone benches that overlooked most of the courtyard and even down further into the clan. the yule flame burned brightly a short distance away and you couldn't help but walk over to it. the flame reminded you of the flame that you would light for the umbra ceremony.
the flame burned brightly and you almost felt like a moth from how you were being drawn to it.
which is how you found yourself in front of it. the noises from the grand hall behind you is like static as you look at the flame, letting it consume you. you got flashbacks to when you would set up a room of candles for the witches that you lost, the flame from those candles burning brightly into your mind.
"why are you out here," the cold voice snaps you out of your thoughts and you turn to look at hongjoong with wide eyes. the prince looks at you with a stern expression, his cold eyes burning into your body.
"i was just... just getting some air," you tell him, refusing to fully make eye contact with him.
hongjoong lets out a 'tsk' sound before he's coming to stand next to you, looking up at the flame. you're surprised by how close hongjoong, this is probably the closest he has ever gotten to you without trying to kill you.
"mingi told me how you helped decorate for the festival," he said out of nowhere after the two of you stood in silence. "i guess witches can be good for something," he adds and you feel yourself deflate at his harsh words.
"i did it for wooyoung," you said wanting to make it clear that you were only doing it for your first love and no one else. "this is his first yule dragon with an actual clan in years," you add.
"and i'm sure witches are the reason why he had gone for so long without experiencing one with a clan," he says back.
"perhaps," you say as you clench your fist together tightly, "but wooyoung is here now with a clan," you turn your head to look at hongjoong, taking in his form once more. his lavish outfit and vibrant blue hair standing out against the dark night. he was the epitome of what a leader of a dragon clan should be in the fact that he always had that air of authority around him. everyone respected him and if they didn't respect him then they feared him.
you, unfortunately, feared him more than you respected him. the dragon oracles say that you two are mates like you are with the rest of the princes, but you knew hongjoong refused to acknowledge you as his mate. you were a witch, the thing that killed his parents and brother and forced him to take the role of leader too soon. you wondered if you and hongjoong would ever get along.
you notice how the flame reflects against hongjoong's skin and then something hits you.
"please excuse me, prince hongjoong," you say suddenly before you are rushing past him. hongjoong doesn't say anything and you don't know if he watches you leave as you are too caught up in rushing back into the palace.
you run to your room, feeling out of breath as you enter your chambers you share with wooyoung before going over to the large trunk that rested at the foot of the bed. you quickly dig through the trunk and pull out a set of candles. all three a beautiful rose color and it reminds you greatly of your mother.
"what are these for mother?" you asked, looking up at your mother as she handed you the three candles. they were different from the ones you were use to lightly for the umbra ceremony and you wondered why she was giving them to you.
"these are special candles, y/n, i made them myself so you can use them when you need them the most," she explains, her voice seeming ever cryptic.
"when i need them the most?" you echo and she nods, a tight-lipped smile painting her features.
"they are for the one who will need to say goodbye the most."
you gripped the candles tightly as you raced back to the courtyard and was surprised to still see hongjoong standing there. somewhere deep inside wants you to believe he waited for you, but you know that's impossible.
"prince hongjoong," you say as you approach him. "i want to thank you for letting wooyoung into your home. i know that... you despise me and my people, you lost your parents and brother after all. and i know you probably don't care but i want to share something with you."
hongjoong turns to look at you, his face void of emotion as he watches you set the three candles down between the two of you. you crouch down, kneeling front of the candles as hongjoong stands towering above you.
"the umbra witches have their own ceremony, we light candles in order to remember those that have left us and this world. we do this as a way to remind us that while they have left this world physically, they are still here with us spiritually," you pause in order to take a deep breath, licking your lips before continuing.
"my mother made me these candles when she was still alive. she told me that they were for someone who needed to say goodbye, and... i think she made them for you."
"what the hell are you talking about?" hongjoong asks, voice full of surprise and anger. "i don't need any of you stupid umbra witch shit," he adds and you notice his fist clenches with his rage.
"please," you beg, voice straining as you plead with the prince, "take the candles, it will bring you peace, prince hongjoong."
you feel a sudden shock as you are grabbed by the collar of your dress. you're pulled up from your kneeling position, face dangerously close to an enraged hongjoong as he bares his teeth at you. in the moment you are reminded that you are at the mercy of a clan full of dragons whether you liked it or not.
"i will never," he jaw clenched tightly as he speaks, "ever, forgive your damned people for what they did to my family. my people. so don't think so damned candles will change that. you will never be my mate and just know that if it wasn't for yeosang and mingi that i would have burned you at a stake a long fucking time ago."
hongjoong waste no time in throwing you to the ground, your hands skidding across the stone pathway harshly and you flinch at the sudden burn of skin. you turn to see hongjoong's eye burning, like he will kill you if you say anything else to him.
you then watch him destroy two of the candles, his foot coming down harshly on them and you feel like a part of you is being ripped apart as you watch him. he's about to do the same to the last one, but you move and grab the last candle. the last one your mother made.
then without thinking you stand up and run away from the prince. you clearly made a mistake in thinking that you could get hongjoong to open up just a little bit. you felt tears begin to form in your eyes as you ran, clutching the candle close to your chest as you collapsed in the one of the many decorated halls.
you looked down at the candle once more, the image of your mother's smile flashing inside your mind as you caressed it. you knew this candle was for hongjoong. he was the one who needed to say goodbye to those he lost, but it was obvious that now wasn't the time.
"y/n!" the sudden call of your name makes you snap your head up to see yeosang rushing towards you. face full of concern and he drops down to the floor next to you. "y/n, what's wrong, why are you crying?" he brushes the tears away and you open your mouth to say something before a sob escapes instead.
you throw yourself into his arms and he arms them around you protectively. you hold your mother's candle close to you as you allow yourself to cry in yeosang's arms. yeosang doesn't say anything, only letting you cry as a comforting hand runs over your hair.
"it's okay, y/n, i'm here," he says softly, holding you closer to him. "whatever made you sad, don't think about it anymore, okay? cause i'm here to protect you."
and so the night comes to an end as you spend the rest of it in yeosang's arms, allowing him to hold you closely as you mourn for the loss of your mother and the hate hongjoong bares for you.

REACTION TO XIKERS CALLING YOU CUTE / hyung line
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: bf!xikers x fem!reader
genre: fluff
warnings: reader is a year older in minjae's and jinsik's, kissing in all of them, i think that's it?
a/n: this was so cute omg i loved writing it, part2 is coming!
KIM MINJAE
Laughter and the sound of children’s excitement filled the air as you walked hand-in-hand with Minjae, your boyfriend of a few months. The two of you had decided to spend the day at the amusement park, enjoying the thrill of roller coasters and the sweet treats sold at every corner.
You had worn black jeans, a leather jacket, and combat boots carefully for the day. You wanted to project a fierce image. The truth was, though, that you were naturally cute. Your big, expressive eyes, soft features, and how you tended to get excited about small things made it hard for people to take your “tough girl” act seriously.
Minjae, walking beside you, was a year younger, but there were moments when he felt like the older one. He found your attempt to be fierce endearing, especially because your true nature always came through, no matter how hard you tried to hide it. And honestly, he loved it. But you hated being called cute, and Minjae knew this—though that didn’t stop him from teasing you about it.
The two of you approached the entrance to a towering roller coaster that twisted and turned in all directions. Your eyes widened slightly as you looked up at it, a small part of you feeling nervous despite your best efforts to appear cool.
Minjae noticed, of course. He always noticed. “Nervous?” he asked, a playful smile tugging at his lips.
You shook your head. “No way. I love this stuff,” you said, trying to sound as nonchalant as possible.
Minjae chuckled, a sound that made your heart skip a beat. “You’re so cute when you’re trying to act tough.”
Your reaction was immediate. You stopped in your tracks and turned to face him, a small pout forming on your lips. “Stop calling me cute,” you demanded, your voice filled with mock irritation.
Minjae’s eyes sparkled with amusement as he looked at you. “But you are cute. Look at you, pouting like that. How can I not call you cute?”
You crossed your arms over your chest, trying to glare at him but failing miserably. “I’m not cute. I’m fierce.”
“Oh, really?” he said, leaning in closer. His tone was teasing, and you could see he was having too much fun with this. “Prove it, then. Let’s see how ‘fierce’ you are on this ride.”
“I will!” you shot back, but your voice faltered slightly as you glanced back up at the roller coaster. It was much taller than you’d remembered.
Minjae chuckled again, and before you could protest further, he took your hand and led you towards the entrance. “Come on, let’s go, baby.”
You tried to keep your cool as you got strapped into the roller coaster, but the nerves were starting to creep in. The ride started with a slow ascent, the click-clack of the chain pulling the cars up the steep track echoing in your ears. You could feel your heart pounding in your chest as you looked over at Minjae. He was watching you with that same amused expression.
“You’re gonna scream, aren’t you?” he asked, clearly enjoying this way too much.
“No,” you insisted, though you weren’t so sure anymore. “I’m not.”
The coaster reached the top, and for a brief moment, everything was still. The park spread out below, people tiny like ants. Then, with a sudden rush, the ride plummeted downward. Your breath caught in your throat, and before you knew it, you were screaming—loudly. The coaster twisted and turned, throwing you from side to side, your hands gripping the safety bar with all your might.
When the ride finally slowed and came to a stop, you were breathless. Your hair was a mess, and you could feel your cheeks burning. You looked over at Minjae, who was grinning from ear to ear.
“You screamed,” he pointed out, still holding your hand as you both exited the ride.
“Shut up,” you muttered, embarrassed. “That ride was intense.”
Minjae just laughed, pulling you close as you walked away from the roller coaster. “You know, you’re even cuter when you’re flustered.”
You glared up at him, your cheeks still warm. “I told you to stop calling me cute.”
“Then stop being cute,” he replied easily, his voice full of affection.
“I’m not cute!” you insisted, stomping your foot slightly—a move that only made Minjae laugh harder.
“You keep telling yourself that,” he said, leaning down so his face was just inches from yours. “But no matter what you say, I think you’re adorable. And I’m not going to stop saying it.”
You opened your mouth to protest again, but before you could, Minjae closed the gap between you, pressing his lips to yours in a soft, lingering kiss. Your heart fluttered in your chest as you kissed him back, momentarily forgetting all about your earlier annoyance. When he pulled back, his eyes were twinkling with that familiar mischief.
“You can be fierce and cute, you know,” he said softly, brushing a strand of hair out of your face.
You couldn’t help but smile, despite yourself. “Maybe,” you admitted, feeling your resolve weaken in the warmth of his gaze.
Minjae grinned, kissing you on the forehead this time. “That’s my girl.”
PARK JUNMIN
The cafe was cozy, with warm lighting and the gentle chatter of other customers providing a comforting background. You sat across from Junmin, your boyfriend of nearly six months, recounting an amusing story from earlier that day.
You had dressed in light pastel colors, a soft lavender blouse paired with a cream skirt that swished just above your knees. A delicate bow sat perched in your hair, holding back a few stray strands that would otherwise fall into your eyes. The outfit was simple yet cute, though you preferred not to think of it that way. You hated being called cute—something Junmin knew all too well—but it was hard to deny that the look suited you perfectly.
Junmin sat with his chin propped on his hand, his gaze fixed on you. He was trying to listen, really, but the way the sunlight filtered through the window and caught the soft colors of your outfit, the way your eyes sparkled as you animatedly told your story—it was all too much. His thoughts began to drift, and he found himself more focused on the way your lips moved, the slight tilt of your head, and the way you absentmindedly played with the ends of your hair as you spoke.
“And then, I realized I had walked into the wrong room! It was so embarrassing, but everyone just laughed it off…” you were saying. But Junmin wasn’t hearing a word. His mind was entirely occupied with how adorable you looked, with that bow in your hair and the way you were dressed so sweetly. Before he could stop himself, the thought slipped out.
“You’re so cute,” he said, almost dreamily.
You paused mid-sentence, blinking in surprise. “What?”
Junmin snapped out of his trance, realizing what he had just said. But it was too late to take it back. “Uh, I mean, you look really cute today,” he clarified, though he knew it wasn’t going to help.
You frowned, a familiar mix of frustration and embarrassment rising in your chest. “Junmin, I told you, I don’t like being called cute.”
He held up his hands in mock surrender, trying to suppress a smile. “I know, I know. But you really are cute, especially with that bow in your hair. It’s impossible not to think so.”
You pouted slightly, crossing your arms over your chest. “I’m not cute. I’m just…me.”
That’s what makes you cute,” Junmin said with a soft chuckle, leaning forward. “The way you get all flustered when I call you cute, the way you dress, the way you smile—it’s all adorable.”
You tried to maintain your frown, but it was difficult with the way he was looking at you. His eyes were so warm and full of affection that it made your heart melt just a little. You opened your mouth to argue, to insist that you weren’t cute, but the words got caught in your throat. Instead, you felt your cheeks heat up, and you quickly looked down at your coffee cup, stirring it absently.
Junmin watched you, completely enamored by your reaction. “You can deny it all you want,” he said softly, reaching across the table to take your hand in his. “But you’re cute, and I love every bit of it.”
You glanced up at him through your lashes, the corners of your lips twitching as you tried not to smile. “You’re impossible, you know that?”
“And you’re irresistible,” he replied with a grin, giving your hand a gentle squeeze. “So, are you going to keep arguing, or are you going to admit that you’re cute?”
You shook your head, a small laugh escaping despite yourself. “I’m not going to admit it because it’s not true.”
Junmin leaned closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. “You might not think so, but every time you pout like that, I just want to kiss you.”
Your breath hitched slightly at his words, and before you could respond, he closed the distance between you, pressing his lips to yours in a soft, lingering kiss. The world around you seemed to fade away, the warmth of his touch and the sweetness of the kiss making your heart flutter.
When he pulled back, Junmin looked at you with that same adoring expression, his thumb brushing lightly over your knuckles, as a content smile spread on his face. “See? Adorable,” he murmured.
You rolled your eyes playfully, but the smile on your face was undeniable now. “Fine, maybe just a little bit,” you admitted, though your tone was teasing.
Junmin laughed softly, his eyes crinkling at the corners. “I’ll take that as a win.”
CHOI SUMIN
You and Sumin had planned to study together, a quiet, productive evening to prepare for the upcoming exams. Textbooks and notebooks were spread out on his desk, but the focus had already shifted from the study materials to something else entirely.
You were sitting cross-legged on his bed, trying to concentrate on the notes in front of you. You had chosen your outfit carefully—a fitted top and jeans that you hoped would give you a more mature vibe. But no matter what you wore, your natural cuteness always seemed to shine through. Your big, expressive eyes, soft features, and the way you couldn’t help but act a little shy around Sumin all contributed to the aura of sweetness that surrounded you.
And Sumin noticed. He always noticed. You’d been dating for a few months now, and while he admired your efforts to appear more grown-up, he found your natural state absolutely irresistible. The way you pouted when something confused you, the way your cheeks flushed when you got flustered—it drove him crazy. He loved to tease you about it, even if he knew it embarrassed you.
Today was no different. As you sat there, nibbling on the end of your pencil and trying to focus on your notes, Sumin couldn’t take his eyes off you. You had tied your hair back in a loose ponytail, but a few strands had escaped, framing your face in a way that made you look even more adorable. He leaned back in his chair, his textbook forgotten, and just watched you, a soft smile playing on his lips.
You were so engrossed in your studying that you didn’t notice his gaze at first. But when you finally looked up, you caught him staring. “What?” you asked, blinking in confusion.
Sumin grinned, shaking his head slightly. “Nothing,” he said, though the mischief in his eyes told you otherwise.
You frowned, feeling a familiar flush creep up your neck. “Why are you staring at me like that?”
“Like what?” he asked, playing innocent.
“Like…” You struggled to find the words. “Like I’m some kind of cute animal or something.”
Sumin chuckled softly, pushing away from his desk and walking over to the bed. He sat down beside you, close enough that you could feel the warmth of his body next to yours. “I can’t help it,” he admitted, reaching out to gently brush a stray hair from your face. “You’re just so cute.”
You groaned, dropping your pencil onto the bedspread. “I’m not cute, Sumin. I'm not trying to.”
He tilted his head, pretending to consider your words. “Hmm, I see what you’re going for,” he said, his tone teasing. “But honestly, I think you’re at your most attractive when you’re just being you. And that happens to be really, really fucking cute.”
You sighed, rolling your eyes even as your heart fluttered at his words. “I hate you.”
As a response, he simply closed the distance between you, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to your forehead. You tried to hold on to your frustration, but it melted away almost instantly under his gentle touch.
“Susu,” you murmured, your voice a mix of exasperation and affection.
He pulled back slightly, just enough to look into your eyes. “What?” he asked, his tone light but filled with adoration. “I’m just appreciating how lucky I am to have a girlfriend as cute as you.”
You huffed, crossing your arms over your chest. “You’re so whipped,” you accused, though the smile tugging at the corners of your mouth betrayed your attempt to sound stern.
Sumin didn’t even try to deny it. “Totally whipped,” he agreed easily, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. “And I don’t mind one bit.”
You shook your head, but you couldn’t stop the warmth spreading through your chest. Sumin always had this effect on you—he made you feel cherished, adored, even when he was teasing you. Especially when he was teasing you.
Before you could protest further, Sumin gently pushed you back onto the bed, hovering over you with that same mischievous grin. You looked up at him, your heart pounding in your chest, a mix of excitement and anticipation flooding through you.
“Sumin, what are you—” you started, but he cut you off with a kiss, this one soft and sweet against your lips.
He pulled back just enough to speak, his voice barely above a whisper. “You’re too adorable for your own good, you know that?”
You opened your mouth to argue, but all that came out was a soft laugh as he began peppering your face with kisses. First your forehead, then your cheeks, your nose, and finally back to your lips.
“Sumin!” you squealed between giggles, trying to squirm away, but he just laughed along with you, his arms caging you in as he continued his assault of kisses.
“I can’t help it,” he said between kisses. “You’re just too cute, and I’m completely whipped for you, baby.”
By the time he finally stopped, you were both breathless, your faces inches apart. You stared up at him, your chest rising and falling as you tried to catch your breath. The teasing had stopped, replaced by a warm, tender expression in his eyes.
“You know,” you said softly, reaching up to cup his cheek, “as much as I hate being called cute… I don’t mind it so much when it’s you.”
Sumin’s smile softened, and he leaned down to press one last, lingering kiss to your lips. “I’m glad to hear that,” he whispered against your lips. “Because I’m never going to stop thinking it.”
HAM JINSIK
You were curled up on Jinsik's living room couch, reading your book, while Jinsik sat across from you, scrolling through his phone. It was one of those lazy afternoons where neither of you had any pressing plans, so you had decided to spend it together, enjoying each other's company.
Jinsik, your boyfriend of nearly six months, was seated on the opposite end of the couch, his legs stretched out, casually leaning against the armrest. Every now and then, you caught yourself stealing glances at him. He was effortlessly handsome. Sometimes, you had to remind yourself that he was real, that this gorgeous guy was actually your boyfriend.
What you didn’t know was that Jinsik often felt the same way about you. Despite your attempts to appear mature and sophisticated, he found you irresistibly cute. Your big, expressive eyes, the way you unconsciously pouted when you were lost in thought, and the soft, feminine way you carried yourself—it all drove him crazy. And as much as he loved when you tried to play the role of the confident, mature girlfriend, he adored the cute side of you even more.
Today, though, Jinsik was in a particularly playful mood. The last few days had been busy for both of you, and now that you finally had some time alone together, he couldn’t resist the urge to tease you. He had been waiting for the right moment, and as you sighed softly, flipping another page of your book, he decided that moment had arrived.
“Hey,” he called out, his tone light and teasing.
You looked up, raising an eyebrow. “What?”
“You know,” he began, setting his phone down and leaning forward slightly, “you’re really cute when you’re focused like that.”
You rolled your eyes, closing the book and setting it on the coffee table. “Jinsik, we’ve been over this. You’re the cute one in this relationship. You’re younger, remember? So, by default, that makes you the cute one.”
Jinsik grinned, but instead of backing down like he usually did, he decided to push a little further. “Maybe I’m cute,” he agreed, “but that doesn’t change the fact that you’re cute too.”
You shook your head, trying to maintain your composure. “Nope. I’m older, so I’m supposed to be mature and sophisticated, not cute.”
“But you are cute,” he insisted, scooting closer to you on the couch. “Like, ridiculously cute. It’s honestly a little unfair.”
You felt your cheeks heat up, but you refused to give in. “Babe, seriously. You’re not going to win this one. I’m not cute.”
He chuckled, clearly enjoying this more than he should. “Oh, I’m definitely gonna win this one,” he said confidently, reaching out to gently poke your side. “You know, the more you deny it, the cuter you look.”
You tried to bat his hand away, but he was quick, dodging your attempt and poking you again, this time on the other side. “Stop that!” you protested, squirming slightly.
“Admit it,” he said, his grin widening. “Admit that you’re cute.”
“No!” you insisted, though your voice was starting to waver as you tried not to laugh.
Jinsik, now fully committed to his playful teasing, reached over and gently grabbed your wrists, holding them above your head as he leaned in close, his face just inches from yours. “Come on,” he coaxed, his voice dropping to a soft, playful whisper. “Just say it. Just once.”
You stared up at him, your heart pounding in your chest. He was so close, you could feel the warmth of his breath against your skin. “You’re being ridiculous,” you said, trying to sound stern, but the proximity was making it hard to focus.
“Maybe,” he admitted with a soft laugh, “but you’re still cute.”
You bit your lip, trying to suppress a smile. He was so persistent, so annoyingly charming, that it was impossible not to feel your resolve slipping. But you were determined not to cave. “You’re not going to make me say it,” you declared, though your voice lacked the conviction you were aiming for.
Jinsik’s eyes sparkled with mischief as he leaned in even closer, his lips now almost brushing against yours. “Are you sure about that?” he asked, his voice low and teasing.
Your breath hitched, and for a moment, you couldn’t think of anything to say. All you could focus on was how close he was, how his playful grin made your heart race even faster. He was irresistible, and he knew it. Before you could muster a reply, he tilted his head slightly and pressed a soft, lingering kiss to your cheek.
Your resolve crumbled entirely. “Okay, fine!” you finally blurted out, your voice breathless. “Maybe I’m a little cute, but just a little.”
Jinsik’s grin widened in triumph. “I knew it,” he said, releasing your wrists and letting his hands slide down to cup your face gently. “And for the record, you’re a lot cute, not just a little.”
You huffed in mock annoyance, but the smile on your face gave you away. “You’re terrible,” you muttered, though there was no real heat in your words.
“And you’re adorable,” he replied, his voice softening as he leaned in to close the distance between you. “And now that we’ve established that…”
Before you could respond, Jinsik kissed you, his lips capturing yours in a slow, tender kiss that made your heart flutter. His hands slipped from your face to your waist, pulling you closer until there was no space left between you. You melted into the kiss, your arms wrapping around his neck as you kissed him back with equal fervor.
When he finally pulled back, just enough to look into your eyes, he was smiling that same playful, yet affectionate smile that always made your heart skip a beat. “You know,” he murmured, brushing his thumb gently across your cheek, “I love that you’re both cute and mature. It’s one of the many reasons why I’m crazy about you.”
CHOI HYUNWOO
The crisp autumn air was filled with laughter and distant shrieks as you and Hyunwoo walked through the bustling Halloween festival. The event was alive with the energy of costumed people, flickering jack-o'-lanterns, and spooky decorations adorning every corner. The centerpiece of the night was the haunted house—an old, creaky mansion.
You had insisted on going, determined to prove to yourself (and to Hyunwoo) that you could handle it. You wanted to appear fearless, confident, and maybe even a bit daring. But as you stood outside the haunted house, staring up at the looming, ominous structure, you couldn’t deny the nervous flutter in your stomach. Hyunwoo, ever observant, noticed the slight tremble in your hands as your jacket.
Hyunwoo, your boyfriend of several months, was handsome, undeniably so, with an air of arrogance that he wore like a second skin. But despite his teasing and his playful arrogance, you knew he cared for you deeply. Tonight, though, he seemed especially entertained by your attempts to appear brave.
“You’re not scared, are you?” Hyunwoo asked, a teasing smile tugging at his lips as he noticed the way you kept glancing at the entrance of the haunted house.
“Of course not,” you replied quickly, perhaps a bit too quickly. You straightened your back and tried to keep your voice steady. “It’s just a haunted house. How bad can it be?”
Hyunwoo raised an eyebrow, his smile growing. “Really? Because you look a little pale. You sure you’re not going to scream and cling to me at the first jump scare?”
You shot him a glare, trying to ignore the warmth creeping up your cheeks. “I won’t. I’m going to be fine.”
He chuckled, leaning down slightly to meet your eyes. “We’ll see about that,” he said, his tone playful. “But I’m warning you now, if you do get scared and grab onto me, I won’t let you forget it.”
With that, he took your hand—his touch warm and reassuring, despite his teasing words—and led you towards the entrance. The creaky door groaned as it opened, revealing a dark, narrow hallway lined with flickering candles and eerie decorations. You swallowed hard, steeling yourself as you stepped inside, with Hyunwoo right beside you.
The haunted house was immediately unsettling. The sound of distant whispers, the creaking floorboards beneath your feet, and the occasional flicker of shadowy figures darting in and out of view all combined to create an atmosphere of pure tension. You tried to maintain your composure, but every nerve in your body was on high alert.
It didn’t take long for the first scare to happen. A ghostly figure suddenly lunged out from a hidden corner, letting out a bone-chilling wail. Without thinking, you let out a startled yelp and instinctively grabbed onto Hyunwoo’s arm, clinging to him tightly. Your heart was pounding in your chest, and you could feel the adrenaline surging through your veins.
Hyunwoo burst out laughing, clearly amused by your reaction. “Not scared, huh?” he teased, wrapping an arm around your shoulders and pulling you closer. “You’re practically shaking, babe.”
You tried to regain your composure, but the haunted house wasn’t giving you a break. More scares came—creepy dolls, sudden loud noises, and eerie figures that seemed to appear out of nowhere. Each time, you found yourself clinging to Hyunwoo, who seemed to be enjoying this far more than he should.
“Woo, stop laughing,” you hissed after a particularly loud scream escaped your lips. “This isn’t funny!”
“It is,” he replied, his voice dripping with amusement. “This is hilarious. You’re so cute when you’re scared.”
You groaned, trying to push away from him, but he kept you close, his grip firm yet comforting. “I’m not cute,” you insisted, though your voice trembled slightly. “I’m just… I’m just startled, that’s all.”
“Sure, sure,” he said, his tone clearly not convinced. “But I gotta say, this is the best part of the night. I should take you to haunted houses more often.”
You would have retorted, but another scare had you burying your face against his chest, your hands gripping his jacket tightly. Hyunwoo’s laughter softened as he held you closer, rubbing your back gently. “Hey, it’s okay,” he murmured, his voice still tinged with humor but also genuine affection. “I’m here. I won’t let anything actually get you.”
Despite his teasing, his presence was incredibly reassuring, and you found yourself relaxing just a little. “You’re impossible, you know that?” you mumbled into his chest, your voice muffled.
“And you’re adorable,” he replied, pressing a quick kiss to the top of your head. “But don’t worry, I won’t hold it against you if you admit it.”
You lifted your head to glare at him, though the effect was somewhat ruined by the way you were still holding onto him. “I’m not admitting anything,” you said stubbornly.
He smirked, clearly pleased with himself. “Fine, be stubborn. But you can’t deny that you’re clinging to me right now.”
You were about to argue, but you realized he was right. Your hands were still gripping his jacket, and you were pressed against him as if he was your only lifeline in the haunted house. Sighing, you reluctantly let go, though you stayed close to him as you made your way through the rest of the house.
By the time you finally exited the haunted house, you were visibly shaken. The cold night air hit you like a welcome relief, and you took a deep breath, trying to steady your racing heart. Hyunwoo, ever the observer, noticed the way your hands were trembling slightly, and his expression softened.
“Hey,” he said gently, turning to face you. “You okay, baby?”
You nodded, though your body was still on edge. “Yeah, just… that was more intense than I expected.”
Hyunwoo’s smug demeanor softened as he reached out, taking both of your hands in his. “You did good,” he said, his voice sincere. “I’m proud of you for making it through. Even if you were scared.”
You pouted slightly, still a little embarrassed by how you had reacted. “You’re going to tease me about this forever, aren’t you?”
He chuckled, nodding. “Oh, definitely. But not because you were scared—because you were so cute trying to be brave.”
You opened your mouth to protest, but he cut you off with a soft kiss, his lips warm and reassuring against yours. The kiss was slow and sweet, a stark contrast to the adrenaline-filled moments you’d just experienced. When he pulled back, he rested his forehead against yours, his eyes sparkling with that familiar, playful light.
“You know I love you, right?” he whispered, his voice soft and affectionate.
You smiled, finally letting go of your stubbornness. “Yeah, I know,” you replied, leaning into him. “I love you too, even if you’re a smug, arrogant tease.”
He grinned, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you into a tight hug. “Can’t help it,” he murmured into your hair. “Especially when you’re so irresistible.”

Take The Shot - Choi Sumin
Tumblr media
Pairing: bestfriend!Sumin x gn!reader
Warnings: none??? Idk
Synopsis: Sumin talks to Minjae and officially confesses his feelings for you
Genre: Fluff!!!
A/N: Y'all we are so back!!(I'm feeling inspired)
Tumblr media
Whispers of winds whistling in your ear as you both stood in silence. The sky was a little cloudy, but the sun peeked through just a tiny bit. You were still in shock at the words that came out of your best friend's mouth. Is this moment even real? What led up to it? What made him say that now?
In the gymnasium stood Sumin and his friend Minjae. “I wanna confess, but how?” Sumin heaved a sigh. “Aren't you really close? You should know what Y/n likes.” Minjae tried to encourage Sumin. “I've had crushes before, but there's something about Y/n that I can't explain. I don't wanna risk ruining our friendship.” He thought back to some of the moments he's spent with you.
The time you first met in middle school. He was trying to impress one of the girls in your class, but ended up tripping and falling flat on his face. You helped him gather his things and since then you've been besties. The time he got rejected by the person he swore would be his lifetime partner in highschool. You were there to comfort him. The time you were over his house and you attempted to make cookies. The results…… Total fail. Though you swear it was his fault.
A small grin appeared on his face, the same one that appears all the other times he's thinking of you. His thoughts were so vivid in his mind that he almost missed what Minjae had to say. “Look, life is kind of like basketball. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. In other words, you have Y/n now, but if you let go of this opportunity you may not have Y/n later…wait that was poetic I need to write that down-” “Not the time Minjae.” Both of them started laughing, lighting up the pressing mood. Sumin was ready, cause like Minjae said, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
That's what brought you to the situation you're in now. Sumin texted you to come outside on the field near the bleachers. His text was very cryptic, so you worried just a little bit. You rushed outside to find the boy with his back facing you. “Is everything okay?” You asked, gently tapping him on his back. He sharply turned around to face you. A tint of blush covering his handsome features. You furrowed your brows at him, because what in the world was happening? He wasn't even saying anything. Just looking. Just staring. It honestly left you with a little discomfort.
It was complete silence. “Sorry if I-” “I like you too.” You blurted out. There the silence was again. “Repeat that for me?” Sumin, with a smirk on his face, leaned in closer to hear you say those words again. How was the same boy that was just super nervous teasing you now? “You heard me!” You playfully smacked his shoulder. “Ouch! No need to hit your new boyfriend so hard.” Sumin acted like your hit hurt him. “Boyfriend?” You tilted your head to the side. “Problem?” He asked. “You didn't ask me out yet, you only confessed your feelings.” You didn't miss the way Sumin began blushing again. The thought of actually having to ask you out felt unreal.
“Uh, are you-” “I like you a lot.” He blurted out the words, cutting you off. “You what?” Thinking you misheard him, you asked for him to repeat himself. “How was your day?” He smiled from ear to ear. “That is not what just came out of your-” “I asked you, how was your day.” He maintained the same smile. “It was fine, but what is going on here?” You asked, feeling very suspicious of him. “My bad, um…. I've been feeling this way for a long time and I'm feeling very nervous to tell you this…. Y/n I……” His voice trailed off leaving you in suspense. He what?
“I don't know when this feeling started, but all I know is just that I've never felt this way with anyone else. You're the person that makes my day and I look forward to talking to you whether it be in person or on the phone. I've never felt so nervous to say something like this ever in my life, but…. I really like you alot…like alot alot." Sumin’s eyes looked everywhere, but your eyes.
“Will you be mine?” Sumin shyly grinned. “Of course!” You leaned in to hug him. The hug lasted about two minutes. Sumin slowly pulled away and looked you deep in your eyes. His hand slowly caressed your cheek. Leaning in, the both of you closed your eyes, waiting for your lips to touch. “Well, would you look at that, the power couple of the century.” Seeun, who was standing next to Minjae, teased. Sumin's face said it all. He was so done with those two. “Let's escape.” Sumin whispered before grabbing your hand and running off the field together.

You groaned as you fell back on the floor of the practice room, you've been in here for the past 6 hours practicing.
You just couldn't get the choreography right, Minjae tried helping you but he had to go so you insisted on staying late after practice. So that's 3 hours of practice on your own. You stared at the ceiling. Your rest being interrupted by the sound of the door opening, Making you look up
There stood sumin holding a bag in one hand and a two cups of coffee in the other.
"Weren't you going to go home?" You questioned the boy, sitting upright. "I was. But Minjae told me you stayed behind so I came to check on you".
He moved to sit next to you handing you your coffee. You took it thankfully, taking a long sip "you're awesome" he smiled at you and patted your head.
"You should rest a bit ya know" you shook your head at him "can't. I need to get this choreography down by tomorrow."
He nudged you softly "tomorrow night. We can practice in the morning".
"You don't have to-" he cut you off with a peck on your lips "bullshit. I want to. Now get up" he stood up pulling you along.
You groaned as you fell off the couch of the dorms, rubbing your face with both hands. Sumin following after you, falling on top of you. He adjusted your position so you were on top of him instead and hugged you close.
"I need to change" you said trying to stand up. "In a bit. We haven't had alone time all dayyyy" he whined "yeah and we still don't" you informed sitting up and pointing to hunter and yechan standing by the kitchen door.
"Fineee" you got up and grabbed a pair of fresh clothes from your room then making your way to the bathroom for a quick shower.
Once you finished you entered your room, Sumin was already laying in your bed, making grabby hands at you. You chuckled and made your way over falling down next to Him.
He pulled you to him, burying his face in your neck. "Now sleep" you didn't answer, placing your arms securely around him and closing your eyes. "Thank you."
"For what?" He asked using his hands to pull himself up "for being here. I'd probably still be practicing if it wasn't for you" he smiled sheepishly at you
"I know, I'm an awesome boyfriend" you smacked his hand and pulled him back down but he pulled himself right back up, puckering his lips at you.
You laughed at him but before he could protest you kissed him and pulled him down once again.
"Now. We sleep" you said and his laugh was the last thing you heard before falling asleep, the exhaustion taking over your body.

Genre: Fluff, Childhood Friends To Lovers, song Fic
TW: cursing : secrecy : teasing : mentions of Food : Mentions of Soda :
Prompts: "Your So Stupid" & "Buzz Love - &Team"
Summery: You and Minjae have been friends since birth you've stuck with him threw thick and thin every heartbreak, new relationships, puberty and he's stuck with you unbeknownst to both of your feelings towards one another
Tumblr media
Every Friday you and Minjae have a dedicated Movie Night each month a different genre of movies an idea Minjae came up with but tonight however Minjae was acting a little off towards you hiding his phone even went as far as to change his pincode so you can't get in. He'd even take off into the bathroom for 30 minutes or longer talking on the phone with someone but whispering quiet enough so you can't hear him
("Yesterday and today are also normal days"
昨日と今日も普通の days
Just you and me, just you and me
"But I'm more worried than yesterday"
でも昨日よりずっと気になってる)
Minjae left the bathroom coming out looking a lot less stress and set his phone back into the phone cage "do you have a girlfriend or something?" You asked giggling as you took the popcorn out the microwave your question caught Minjae off guard as his head whipped towards you catching his reaction out the corner of your eye
Made you double over in laughter "holy fuck you do!" You spoke threw your laughter at this point Minjae was so panicked "nononono its nothing like that trust me I'd let you know the moment I'm talking in that way with her!!" He said waving his hands in the air "oh my gosh calm down Minjae it's ok it's not a big deal" you said finally calming down from your laughing fit
Minjae twisted his head to the right side in confusion "what" you said "Minjae? You never call me Minjae....did I do something?" He asked more panic setting in "not really, why guilty conscience?" You said teasing him farther "wh-what-" he stuttered causing you to giggle
"calm yourself Jae whatever is going on with you, you don't have to tell me. I don't have to know every little thing going on in your life" you said making your way over to the couch with your bowl of popcorn
("Even if it's like a popcorn"
It's like a popcorn 蓋しても
"It's overflowing, so what should I do now?"
溢れ出すからあぁもうどうしよう
"Only these feelings are blooming my heart is in the air"
この感情だけ咲いてる my heart is in the air)
Soon enough Minjae caught up with two bottles of Soda in his hands once he sat down you pressed play on the movie and set the bowl between you two after awhile of you and Minjae laughing at the bad acting he suddenly got quiet again but this time he paused the movie and moved the popcorn off the couch and turned to face you seeing Minjae has turned towards you, you turned towards him
("Only these feelings are blooming my heart is in the air"
この感情だけ咲いてる my heart is in the air
"Before you know it, your eyes will follow you everywhere"
気づけば目で追う everywhere
I'm thinking about you)
"Y/n" he said as he looked in your eyes you started to feel nervous, Seeing how nervous you are Minjae took your hands in his and held them between you two "I wanna tell you something but I'm afraid it will ruin our friendship" he said quietly "I assure you it won't, it's ok you can tell me" you said the nervousness still there as you rubbed the back of his hands with your thumbs
"I-" Minjae started and suddenly got quiet he sighed and looked at the ground before looking back up at you instead of speaking Minjae showed you what he ment by kissing you your eyes grew wide before closing as you melted into the kiss after what felt like an eternity you two pulled away with a small "smooch" sound that echoed like a pen drop in silence
("in my eyes you"
僕の目には you
"only you shine"
君だけ映える
La-la-la-la, la-la-la, buzz love
La-la-la-la, la-la-la, buzz love)
While you were catching your breath you suddenly felt Minjaes lips on yours again this time more desperate losing your breath even more Wich you didn't know was possible you pulled back and pushed Minjae back a little "y/n....I like you" he said a shy smile on his face "I think I already got that Minjae" you faked a disappointed face and touched his shoulder
He rolled his eyes before shrugging your hand off and looked at you waiting for a real answer "I like you too Minjae" you said before kissing his nose his smile grew wide as he jumped on you hugging you by your waist "will you be my s/o?" Minjae asked as he looked at you "your so stupid..." You told him his eyes widened with sadness and heartbreak "wha-" you cut him off by kissing him after pulling away
You nodded your head with a smile on your face your answer only made Minjae happier as he hugged you tighter and hid his face into your neck the rest of the night you and Minjae spent cuddling into one another watching shitty movies and making fun of the acting
(won't stop ringing

Buzz love for you

[ SIXTEEN ]  receiver executes a third party in front of sender because that person hurt them.  minjae & elijah obviously
Tumblr media
why did he have to fall in love with the world's most infuriating man? elijah wore a walking target on his back, and had a list of enemies a mile long. minjae really knew how to pick them. in his life, he had never known peace, and for so long, all he had ever sought after was some kind of control. it had to be some kind of irony that he was attracted to chaos, and he would reflect on that later. afterwards. because there had to be an afterward. they weren't going to die here.
elijah was lying in a pool of his own blood yet still talking back, and it was when one of their captors cocked his gun that minjae knew it was now or never.
mustering up the willpower in his desperation and already having loosened the rope from constant circular motions, minjae wrung his hands together, using the grip to break his own right thumb, bending it all the way back. escaping made all the easier considering his right hand could more bend more than most. this had to be the only time losing a finger had come in handy. he had to act fast, not even flinching during the act, relying on the adrenaline to rush forward.
he yanked up the arm of the man with the gun, but not before he'd fired off a bullet. a sharp pinch radiated through minjae's side. he hit his head hard against the other man's, grabbing ahold of the gun and settling it into his left hand.
it all happened before he could think about it. about how he had never killed anyone before. his thoughts were consumed with the want to save elijah, popping the first captor in the head before whirling around on his heel to shoot the other square in the chest as he had lunged forward to try and take minjae down.
once, twice, he shot three more times. the third straight through the temple. he wasn't going to leave anything to chance.
he dropped to his knees in front of elijah, starting to feel dizzy and his body feeling heavy. blood oozed from his stomach, crimson stained hands reaching to wipe at his mouth before he gingerly started to try and help elijah to his feet. careful and more considerate of the older man's injuries than his own. they had to get out of here.
a smirk curled its way onto minjae's face, and relief flooded him. "not bad for a fucking twink, huh?"

Xikers Full Storyline Explained - Part 4
Masterlist
We Don’t Stop
Before we begin, I'd like to point out that the first track on the album is already providing us with some additional information
By titling it "Trial and Error (whereabouts)", we're already getting a hint toward the setting of the video/album (this also plays into Xikers' entire concept which I explained here) and the instrumental itself is very much in line with other music we've heard in association with TRICKY
Tricky's world, which we got to see in "The TRICKY's Secret", is now the one we're stepping into while Xikers has already grown accustomed with it since they've long since been living inside the Tricky House
Tumblr media
The first cutaway from the Tricky House itself takes us to a warped grid floor which has become associated with TRICKY, the being who's given Xikers their powers in Rockstar, and who I talk about more here
Tumblr media
We spend the majority of the video witnessing the absolute wackiness that is TRICKY's world, i.e. how it's breaking physics with the sheer scale of its spaces or how this elevator with only buttons for five floors has already reached a floor in the 400s by straight up exiting the building and getting shot into the stratosphere
Shoutout to the elevator interior for continuing the skater boy aesthetic from previous videos and having Jinsik say "Hands up, high up / Never die" while his members are being blasted into outer space in the background
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And not just that, we also get straight up punched in the face by him while the others watch on and then stand over our broken body with shocked faces as if they hadn't been a part of the assault - thanks, guys
This is where I'd like to point out that it was also Jinsik who put the headphones on their victim in Tricky House, meaning he's likely the instigator behind a lot of their schemes/"pranks", maybe even a leader of sorts
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The lyrics also further reinforce their dokkaebi/goblin concept by referencing their powers and tendency to play pranks/tricks on people:
Everyone's gonna be smiling, even that clown over there [...] Faster, teleport (Ayy, ayy) Blink and I disappear (Ayy, ayy, ayy, ayy) Follow me if you don't want to miss it, shout it [...] Bewitched by me, let go of the reins
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We also get this neat shot in which they use a practical effect to insert Hunter into the frame by using a mirror the others are holding
While this is cool to look at, it's also a nice nod to the paranormal wherein mirrors are considered portals through which supernatural beings can travel
Tumblr media
Similarly to the grid-floor room, we also get a performance shot of Xikers in another liminal-space looking room with a geometric line design that feels surreal and shares the same color-scheme as TRICKY's world in 'The TRICKY's Secret'
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From here, we often return to the same shooting locations but do also get to see the world and their powers in action some more, such as when Minjae (and later also the others) manipulate the buildings around them so they would move along to the song
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Toward the end of the video, we move into black-and-white territory as the beat slows
During this section, we get this nice little nod to the Tricky House choreo from Hunter who then also becomes the center at the very end which is reminiscent of past videos where he was also a focal point

The smell of the piping hot pancakes wafts through the house, drawing San out of bed and into the kitchen to see your frame standing in front of the stove, flipping the doughy circle in the pan. A stack of the breakfast food sits on a plate next to the stove as he watches you add another to the pile.
He makes his way over to your form, sneaking his arms around your waist and pressing a kiss to your cheek before lying his head on your shoulder, "Good morning, Angel."
"Good morning, My Love." Smiling as he squeezes you tighter, you turn off the stove, having finished making breakfast only moments after his arms wrapped around you.
Not wanting to leave his embrace, you turn your body to face him. Puffy cheeks, pouty lips, and squinting eyes come into view, your heart swelling at the sight of your very sleepy looking husband.
Unable to stop yourself, you press a soft kiss to his pout, watching as a smile replaces it when you pull away, "Will you go wake Minjae up while I fix a plate for him?"
San hums, leaving a kiss on your forehead as he retracts his arms from around you. Just before he turns to leave the room, Minjae wanders in, seemingly being led by his nose as he sniffs the air, same puffy cheeks and furrowed eyebrows as his father.
"Hey, buddy! You want some pancakes?" As if San had said the magic words, Minjae's eyes shoot open impossibly wide, a bright smile forming on his lips as he bounds toward the table, ready to climb into his chair and eat breakfast.
Letting out a joyous laugh at his son's excitement, San moves to lift Minjae into his chair. You turn back to the counter, grabbing a small plate for Minjae, cutting up the pancake and drizzling some of the sweet smelling maple syrup over it before walking it over to him. Carefully setting it down, you hand Minjae the fork, shooting a look towards San, silently telling him to watch the young boy while you fix plates for the two of you.
Minjae had a dream to tell you about over breakfast. A dream involving you, San, and a magical fairy that pooped butterflies and shot rainbows out of her fingers. His very detailed descriptions of the strange dream had you and San struggling to breathe through your laughter while he continued his very serious retelling.
After breakfast, San cleans up the plates as you wipe down your very messy eater of a son and ask him what he wants to do for the day. His eyes light up, an idea immediately popping into his head, "Can we go to the zoo?!"
You glance at San, silently asking if that would be okay with him, but his bright smile and excited eyes answer your question. Turning back to Minjae, his eyes glossy and sparkling, you give him a nod, confirming his hopes.
You walk through the entrance of the zoo, one of Minjae's small hands in yours, his other in San's while you swing him between the two of you. San asks Minjae where he wants to go first, your son quickly begging to see his favorite animal first—the elephants.
When you reach the elephants, Minjae sits happily upon San's shoulders as he copies the elephants, an arm in front of his face, waving around, and making a trumpet sound with his mouth. San quietly mimics Minjae's trumpeting, a subconscious but endearing action.
Minjae's giggles are hypnotic, addicting, like a drug you just can't live without. The sound is a common occurrence throughout the day. Minjae has full conversations with the parrots that know just enough words to convince the little boy that they can continue his conversation. He excitedly roars at the lions and tigers resting in their enclosures. He mimics the monkey's every move as he walks along beside the glass. No matter how many times you had gone to the zoo and seen the same animals, Minjae still had the same wonder filled amazement—just like his father.
The day was long and hot, but fun nonetheless. Minjae happily skips to the car after the successful zoo trip, ready to go home.
Once you make it home, Minjae is bounding around the house acting as different animals and somehow managing to successfully scare San on multiple occasions. You decide that both of your lovely boys still have too much energy. To counter that, you suggest a movie night, convincing your boys to help you build a fort using the couch cushions and a bunch of blankets.
Sitting inside of the now built fort, you open the end facing the television, "What movie do you wanna watch, Min?"
The little boy taps a finger on his chin in thought, the dramatics making you and San chuckle before the make believe light bulb above Minjae's head seems to click on, "Shrek!"
San sighs, knowing you both have been forced to watch 'Shrek' one time too many, "Don't you wanna watch 'Puss In Boots' instead?"
"Noooo." Minjae wasn't exactly upset by the suggestion, but you know you will be watching 'Shrek' again, one way or another.
The movie starts with you and San leaning against the couch, his arm around your shoulders and your head lying on his chest. Minjae lies on his stomach at your feet, entranced by the movie playing on the screen. But as the credits start to roll, Minjae has crawled into your lap, draping himself across San's as well before falling fast asleep. Your eyes are droopy, sleep threatening to overcome you. San squeezes your arm causing you to look up at him in question.
His voice is quiet, trying not to wake Minjae up as he speaks, "Let's head to bed so our backs won't hate us in the morning."
Nodding in agreement, you carefully lift Minjae into your arms and crawl your way out of the fort, San following closely behind. You carry your toddler to his room, ready to tuck him in and call it a night when he wakes up, his voice hushed, "Can I sleep with you and daddy tonight?"
Not being able to say no to his big doe eyes and sleepy voice, you nod, carrying him back to your shared bedroom. San is curled up under the covers, a confused look on his face when you tuck minjae between the two of you, "Cuddle night?"
"Cuddle night." You confirm, pulling your son closer to you as San pulls you both into his arms, planting a kiss on top of Minjae's head before pecking your lips. His fingers trace shapes on your back as Minjae snuggles into his chest, the three of you falling into a peaceful sleep.

However something always trails back to past that she’s never knew about.

Now Part 11 !! || —> Next Part 12.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The household was fast asleep but when arriving back home from a long day at working with a detective on a case, it suddenly drained all the energy out that Areum could actually fall asleep the minute she’d walk up the stairs into her bedroom. But to a surprisingly large extent instead the journalist came home to her husband laying on the bed with a sleeping baby on his chest laying by the stomach so the child could keep her tiny head on his chest area.
He wore a white plain ole’ tee shirt with only loose grey sweatpants. It was such a homebody outfit but he made it look like a freaking cat walk.
She was smiling uncontrollably when slowly walking on the tip toes approaching the bed and taking off the jacket. Areum made sure to kiss Jeno’s forehead even though he was now asleep.
Taking advantage of them sleeping on the bed, she made her way into the bathroom taking off the everyday clothes she wore for ages and made sure to change into something more comforting and appropriate.
A plain white tee shirt, which belonged to Jeno’s collection as well, but he wouldn’t mind because his clothes are becoming Areum’s clothes now too. None the less she came out in simple sweatpants as well but her own size.
When coming out Jeno was already awake again standing next to the baby crib where he took it out again for Saebom to sleep in. Areum smiles moving behind so her long arms scrape on his expectant waistline that fit so perfectly on her, as if he was made for her, like a designed key to the doorknob.
Areum might have a slight obsession with his waist, but can you blame her? He looks like he was build straight out of a marvel comic.
“Hey baby did i wake you up?” She couldn’t help but whisper into his shoulder wondering if perhaps she woke him up but her husband turns around now grabbing her waist.
Jeno shakes his head. “Nope. I was waiting for you.” They stay in each others holds enjoying the feeling their hands gave each other. A loving warming feeling deep in their stomachs.
He trails letting the fingertips trace round the stomach when he creeps it under the plain white tee shirt smiling. “You wore my shirt to match me?” Areum softly smiles. “Thought it would make you feel less lonely if i match you.”
“How kind of you.”
They stare within each others eyes until they suddenly tangle each other on the bed by pushing Areum with a gentle kiss on the mouth enough to let their breathes becoming as one breathing space. Her arms fell on the bed until they crawl back on the chiselled surface belonging to her husband, letting their lips completely become infatuated.
The kiss took everything away from them, but the love stayed and Jeno took every opportunity to let Areum know that.
His voice was as soft as a feather but it lands a giant shot in her heart knowing how mesmerising he sounds and looks to the eye and the ears. “You know, — spending a day with Saebom and the twins made me realise i might have a bit of a baby fever again.” It was honesty deep from his heart, murmuring it close to her mouth.
Areum bites her bottom lip watching him. Truth be honest she feels the same way. Something within Areum broke and expanded when seeing Jeno with children looking so happy.
It was something like a spell put on them.
“Me too.” She softly pressed her lips into a small line going to press another kiss against his plum chapped lips loving the taste it brought to the tastebuds. “But we can’t do anything here. We might wake up Saebom.” She smirks when Jeno’s face comes to a realisation that yeah, they can’t do anything but that doesn’t mean they can’t move out somewhere…
As an idea strikes him faster than anything before he wraps his arms away and stands up looking at Areum.
She sits up seeing her husband hold out his hand. “How about we… innocently take a bath together?” He said trailing lowly.
It felt almost forbidden doing this but as quietly as possible they return to their en suite bathroom turning on the bath letting it run warm water. Putting inside the bubbles it soon began a striping party — Jeno did not waste a single second taking off the clothes from her beautiful body roaming his hands and just as impatiently, Areum tugged all his shirt and lower clothing off too.
They missed each other even though they see one another every day their bodies were mourning themselves and the absence.
Sometimes life becomes too much, separating them apart, but they find each other through it all again. Jeno and Areum are a part of each other that cannot be undone therefore when they push each other in the bathtub letting the warm water hit on the skin they were giggling together trying to be as quiet as possible.
She smirks slashing a flew bubbles with the water on his face, Jeno wiping it away.
“Yah, is that how you’ll be playing?” He retorts and Areum nods staring at him. “Or what will you do about it, mr lee?”
Many things come to mind but Jeno only took the slow approach by smiling down unconsciously. “Well— mrs lee i think i can handle more of your tricks.” Oh and he certainly did knowing the way Areum was watching him with such a dimly lit eyes so deep enough to piece his soul together once again.
Their heads tilt and Jeno goes to land a kiss on her lips again deeply laying onto the bathtub kissing with each other like it would be the end, so passionately in touch with one another.
Their eyes spoke when they couldn’t. They communicate through their bodies as much as their souls did too. The minds knew instantly what to do. Areum softly sighs when her neck become a scene of the attraction with his kisses going down and down. Their hands were on each other’s shoulders until he slid them down softly finding her chest squeezing it softly letting her know how much he loves holding her this close, bare nude in the open space.
He could never get enough of Areum.
Brushing hands into the thick black hair Areum’s fingers finding refuge in them with the wetness of her hands soon make his entire hair damp and curl up with some leaving bubbles on in his head. Though he didn’t mind it, he loves the feeling of him tugging on his hair or even playing with it.
His tongue goes flapping itself on the nipples constantly teasing between that or the lips recounting again for another fiery passionate kiss leaving them to softly gaze up at one another.
“How is it possible i can’t get enough of you hm? You’re everything i ever wanted.”
An unconditional loving but small smirk throws at the man murmuring the most sincere sweet nothings, to the point even her bodily scent could drive him absolutely mad.
“Don’t say it like that.” She said blushing against the folds of her hands now closing her face but Jeno quickly grabbed the hands to separate them.
“I want to see your face, don’t hide it.”
And once her hands were pulled apart so he could see his wife’s shy but beautiful face that went red he was satisfied with it. He knows sometimes these confessions he makes are too much ; but at least he can see how much it touched her heart. He likes knowing he makes her feel this way, because Areum doesn’t know how to voice her feelings through words.
Instead she shows it through the actions much more. Slightly ironic that his wife is a journalist who can convey emotion on the headlines and alert people’s emotions so much but when it comes to her husband, she’s a complete fool who doesn’t know what to say to what to do.
It’s like seeing an inexperienced person coming to terms that they love someone so deeply, they wouldn’t know how to deal with it. But he understands nonetheless. Jeno enjoys Areum’s signs of affection through physical touch and the gift giving too.
She murmurs staring at him. “I don’t know what to say to you most of the time i’ll be honest.” She’d admit it aloud. “But I do love you so much, that even the butterflies that i felt on our first date never left.”
She pulls herself up cupping his face and kissing him once more. Jeno hums into her mouth when she pulls down a kiss on his lips enjoying how much she communicates to him.
“Thank you for telling me that.” He whispers feeling a slight happiness from knowing that Areum feels the same way, even if it was a while back they fully went on a date.
She will never regret marrying him.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
They gather round for breakfast, a new day has arrived welcoming the family from their sleep. Little Nayoung with bed hair slightly ruff up although in the little pink Princess Aurora dress on grabbing a spoon taking a mouthful of the cereal.
When asking children what they want to eat, they only reply with sweet cereal, they didn’t want a savouring breakfast at all.
Nayoung and Minjae having matching cereal bowls but in different colour to match their own liking. He had a red bowl, meanwhile Nayoung had a pink colour once again.
You can definitely tell her favourite colour now.
Jeno would be by the stove today. This morning he was the chef. He somehow convinced Areum to sit down at the table and let him take over the kitchen, he felt like he should contribute to cooking sometimes too and honestly it was a nice change. She felt a little different watching her husband cook a fried egg on the pan and toast the bread too.
Humming a tune Areum comes behind Jeno back hugging him to take a peak at the food he was frying an omelette for her because she asked for that instead of a simple fry egg.
The omelette had bits of vegetables such as tomatoes and spinach too. It might be your favourite breakfast dish apart from others.
“Look at you cooking while looking so handsome.” She murmurs confidently encouraging him and by this Jeno could only shortly laugh.
He warns playfully when her hands got under his shirt to feel his stomach. “Yah lee areum careful where your hands are hm? You’ll surprise me and i might drop the omelette.”
Areum smirks. “Better be careful then.”
Sometimes when she has the upper hand in making the big mafia lord flustered, he can’t help but find it endearing and sometimes he enjoys it a little more than he should be.
It’s definitely a unique dynamic he loves between them. Areum always makes him feel so many things at once.
She pulls away to suddenly remember that she would have to make the hot bottle for the baby. She’d hum a little sing song.
“Opps nearly forgot to stop the kettle.” She says quietly taking it off and starts to pour it into the bottle with the baby formula powder which will then make the baby milk.
Jeno puts the food on the plate moving it to the table as his wife would shake the bottle when closing it fully with the lid and then she tests it on her hand the temperature.
She winces. “Slightly hot.” As she said this he looks over as she sits down next to him shaking the bottle to let it cool down more before she could latch and drink from it. He moves his hands to her hand taking the bottle and pushes the plate in front of her.
“I will handle this, you can eat up.” He would say as he shakes the bottle now side to side. Areum looks down sighing. Looks like I have no choice now.
He wants his wife to eat and get her strength back up so he could handle the bottle cooling off.
Taking a bite of the food she smiles finding it perfect, just the way she wanted it to be. Pulling a piece on the spoon Areum looks at Jeno who was feeding Saebom in the high chair.
She was smiling drinking from the bottle now. Areum would gently call out putting the spoon forward. “Hey open your mouth.”
Jeno would look back opening his mouth as he multitasks feeding Saebom, as if it were like a mission he were on.
He took a bite and hums delighted it tastes good. “It’s not bad, is it to your taste Areum?”
She nods going back to eating. “Mhmm thank you.” Jeno boops the baby’s nose seeing her smile wide like he was the best thing she saw. “Boop boop i see your nose Saebom-ah.”
Nayoung grins. “Saebom is super cute. She definitely has mummy’s look.”
Jeno turns to Nayoung playfully scoffing. “Huh? Whaddya’ mean she totally looks like daddy.”
The twins share a similar glance before giggling giving Jeno a huge run for his money as they disagree, they’re convinced their younger sister is a total copy paste of their mother.
Minjae throws a soft blow at his father. “You always look grumpy dad. Saebom never looks grumpy.”
Areum wanted to laugh out loud because it was the truth he does have a very — stern looking face. Sure he was handsome, too handsome out of this world but he didn’t look cheerful unless he was with his family that’s for sure.
Usually Jeno would look too strict and stern.
He held his chest when his son points out the deep truth, dramatically pretending it was hurting his poor feelings. “Argh Minjae can’t you compliment daddy for once?” Jeno walks over to his son’s seat and lifts the boy up and instead sat down on the boy’s chair so he could be sat on his lap instead.
He squirms on the lap above Jeno’s that huddles him to be stuck on. “Nope!”
He laughs. “I know you want to but you like seeing daddy get humbled don’t you?”
Minjae shakes his head. He wasn’t going to admit to anything but his father had other plans to make.
“Hmm come on, is daddy not cool? Not even a little bit cool to you?” He pouts looking at Minjae as he turns him around so they can face each other. The little boy stares crossing the arms.
He mumbles a little, stubbornly. “Maybe he is a — little cool.”
Something made this scene so much cuter to see Jeno get a compliment: a very rare compliment, from his own son. He would kiss Minjae’s forehead petting his soft bed hair he has not brushed out quite yet in the early mornings.
“Well I think you’re cooler than me and I know you will grow up to be even better than your old man.” Jeno retorts putting Minjae back down to his seat. Areum smiles ear to ear seeing the small interaction as she would focus on Saebom hand feeding her on between the lap.
He shifts to Nayoung kissing her head too. “And you princess, how do you feel about going to a special event with me?”
She jumps up at the sound of going to a big event, wearing a fancy dress and looking pretty? It’s everything Nayoung would ever want to feel like an actual princess.
“Whoa where we going dad!”
Areum shifts in the seat barking her head up when she heard this message.
“Wait what event do you mean?” Areum never heard of this until now.
Jeno smirks leaning by the doorway as he trails. There will be an upcoming event he was invited to by another company however due to personal long alliances with the mafia group he was able to come accord to those.
“I’ve got invited by someone to a company celebration. They told me to bring anyone. So I thought I could bring you and the kids with me?”
It might be a nice change to go to a fancy event with the children, perhaps even do something fun with them there while meeting new people.
She’d look down smiling putting the bottle on the dining table.
“I’d love to. Might be nice to get out there with the children don’t you think?” He nods hearing her say that and he smiles.
“Thing is the company owner has kids similar to the twins age so they might make friends there too. Who knows.” He suggests as he’d rather have an idea on what they would do there too.
Areum wonders. “Then what about you know… who will handle your work?” ‘She really wanted to say the base’ but she held herself back. The children aren’t aware of the actual behind the scenes work yet.
He replies causally. “Don’t worry I’ve got it handled. I made sure they will call me if they need anything.”
Nayoung cheers the loudest. She seems to be the happiest out of the rest at the table now. “yayyy! A party! Mummy can i wear my blue dress to the event please?”
Areum laughs a little. “You can but you have to finish your breakfast first.”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Running through the clothes she has staring in the mirror with a sigh. She watches her body that has changed a lot over the years, it’s definitely not what it’s been like before.
Pregnancy changed her body shape a lot. It’s not like it’s completely different it’s not that much different from before but there are certain modifications definitely.
For example her chest grew a lot, which was to be expected. The hips are a little wider than before.
Thighs are thicker than they were before. It’s making Areum currently feel slightly more uncomfortable knowing the clothes might look now way too different on her than they did probably years before.
“What are you sighing about baby?” He calls out coming out of the shower with a towel on his waist covering the lower part as the other towel was drying out the wet black locks.
She stares in the mirror feeling defeated and broken in a way. She wasn’t feeling too good about herself now and it’s making everything look worse.
Areum never struggled with body perception until now it’s leaving her to change plans.
“I don’t know — I just don’t look good wearing my old clothes before it’s making me wonder if i shouldn’t go at all.”
The moment he heard Areum speak about what she’s seeing in the mirror was the complete shocking opposite to what he’s seeing. She was standing in the mirror with underwear and a bra on checking down every curve like it was a hassle problem but for him he loved the body she has now.
He thinks it suits her very well. If anything Jeno found it severely attractive that he can’t help but find his eyes constantly check her down shamelessly. He has no shame in it though.
None at all.
He comes from behind so he appears in the mirror giving a tight back hug as one hand drops on the stomach and the hip bone sticking on the service. He whispers. “Baby you’re perfect look, your body. It’s perfectly normal and fine.” Areum closed her eyes sighing. “I don’t know… I don’t— think it’s the same as before.”
He would kiss her head. “Trust me when i say that your body looks fucking amazing and it’s very hard to hold myself back right now with you standing in with barely anything on.”
Creeping blush on to her face Areum clears her throat and turns around to slap his arm pushing him back to keep a personal bubble now.
“Yah what— don’t say that so freely.” She warns turning around to look into the closet. Somehow this made her feel a little better about herself though, knowing Jeno loves her body and so she does too.
Although he didn’t back away just her until a very firm hand was placed on her back making Areum flinch in surprise feeling a gentle spank and a grope later with Jeno smirking widely — he felt so proud to be able to do that to his wife.
She turns around smacking his hand off. “Lee Jeno! Come on what if someone saw us.” She now said sternly but he comes forward pulling her on the bed more specifically his lap where she sat but he was on the edge of the bed.
Jeno grips and squeezes gently her thighs humming. “Let them see. We are a married couple we can do whatever now.” He teases singing it to her face it felt like a long warm embrace from him.
Areum looks away sighing. “You’re shameless.”
She hears a laugh coming from him enough to spike her neck as he doesn’t dare to deny it; who wouldn’t be shameless when they have Park Areum as their wife? He darn knows no one would be able to keep their hands off her.
Afterall she’s untouchable but she’s most certainly not untouchable when it comes to him.
“I’m just saying honey that when you arrive at the party with me, no one will be able to take their eyes away from you. You’ll be the main attraction.”
She murmurs. “Okay just…” pausing as she saw that he was still in nothing but a towel on her voice stains out like a piece of fragile glass. “You should get changed already.”
Areum gets off his lap leaving Jeno stay on the bed admiring her body from afar as she picks out a dress becoming satisfied. He would watch her put it on and he felt himself fall for his wife once more.
It’s a pleasuring hobby to see your wife get changed.
Until tiny background noises were heard shouting…
Bringing them back to reality where their children could be up to no good whatsoever.
“DAADDD!! I NEED HELP ZIPPING UP MY TROUSERS —“
“MUMMMM!! I CAN’T FIND MY DRESS —“

Echoes of Betrayal: The Xikers Mystery
Chapter 8: The Weight of Suspicion
The library was quiet, save for the low crackling of the fire in the hearth. Shadows danced on the walls as each member of Xikers sat, eyes wary, glancing at one another with tension etched into every line of their faces. The thought none of them wanted to voice hung heavily in the air: if Mr. Blackwood had been murdered, the killer could be among them.
Minjae broke the silence first, his jaw set, eyes darting between his friends. “We need to face the possibility that… one of us did this. Blackwood didn’t just die by accident.”
The words settled over them like a weight, and a ripple of discomfort moved through the group. Hunter shook his head, running a hand through his hair. “This is insane. We’ve known each other for years—how could any of us…?”
Sumin looked down at the old book of symbols, thumbing through the pages as if it might offer some kind of answer. “It’s not just about who might have killed him,” he said slowly. “It’s about why. Blackwood brought us here for a reason. He wanted something from us—something to do with this ritual. If he was killed, maybe it’s because he was close to revealing whatever this ‘gateway’ actually is.”
Seeun’s voice wavered as he spoke, barely above a whisper. “But… why would one of us want to stop that? If he’d told us everything, we might have been able to help—or at least understand what was going on.”
“Unless…” Yechan paused, his face pale. “Unless someone already knew what he was planning, and they didn’t want it to happen.”
The silence deepened. Each of them was now staring at the others with a mixture of doubt and unease, the possibility sinking in.
Hyunwoo finally spoke, breaking the thick silence. “We’ve got two problems. One, figuring out who killed Blackwood. And two, finding out how to deal with this ritual so it doesn’t tear us apart. We can’t solve one without the other.”
Junghoon crossed his arms, frustration evident on his face. “We’ve been going in circles. All we have is that book and Graves’ cryptic warnings. I don’t trust him any more than I trust whatever it is Blackwood wanted us to do.”
Hunter looked down at the fireplace, watching the flames flicker. “I agree. Graves acts like he’s on our side, but he’s part of this place. Whatever Blackwood’s plans were, Graves knew all about them. I wouldn’t put it past him to have his own agenda.”
The room went silent again as each member mulled over their suspicions. Tensions were running high, and though they had once trusted one another implicitly, this house and the darkness it held had started to unravel their unity.
Sumin cleared his throat, his gaze fixed on the book. “There’s something in here,” he said. “It talks about an ‘inversion’—an alternative to opening the gateway. It’s risky, but it could redirect the ritual’s energy back into itself, neutralizing it.”
Minjae leaned in, interest piqued. “And how would we do that?”
“We’d still need to channel our energy through singing and movement, like Blackwood wanted,” Sumin replied. “But instead of trying to open something, we’d be using it to seal… whatever is already here.”
Junghoon shook his head, skeptical. “If the ritual could be dangerous if done wrong, wouldn’t doing it backward make it worse?”
Sumin shrugged. “It’s the best shot we’ve got, unless someone here thinks they can finish the ritual without any surprises.”
The group looked at each other, hesitant but seeing no better alternative. They knew they were running out of time—the storm outside was worsening, and midnight was fast approaching.
Hyunwoo stood, taking charge. “Let’s start preparing. We have to try this inversion ritual before anything else happens. We stick together, and no one leaves the room alone. Agreed?”
Everyone nodded, though the looks on their faces revealed a mixture of hope and fear. If this worked, they might just survive the night. But if it failed…
As they left the library to head to the grand hall, Minjae felt a chill creep up his spine. He couldn’t shake the feeling that eyes were watching them from the shadows, and that something unseen was lurking just beyond the firelight, waiting for its moment.
One of them, he realized, could be hiding a terrible secret.

MASTERLIST! – JOIN THE TAGLIST!
MINJAE ☆
A little shocked that you chose him out of everyone else, but hed never turn down the offer
(The members sending knowing glances like hyung she clearly likes you, make a movee!!) (BREAK THAT WALL-)
Smiley than usual as you teach him the steps, cant help but to feel a bit flustered when you congratulate him
But gets it a bit wrong because hes too busy staring at you
Its just.. super obvious he likes you ♡
JUNMIN ☆
Despite him asking you to the dance challenge, he's really quiet. Almost too quiet..
So youre getting mixed signals; did he actually want to do this or was he forced?
His voice is small and cracking as he tells you did a move wrong
On the inside, hes beating himself up because he had one chance and he messed it up, now he cant even look in your direction any more
So the members would make you do another challenge a week later or so, forcing junmin – with their eyes – to ask you out after ♡
SUMIN ☆
He feels small under your gaze
Not like intimidating or anything, he just looks up to you even if youre the same age
Hes a pretty shy baby, ending the challenge with a small heart before giggling
Tries to shoot his shot after the challenge, despite him being so shy
Like he'd look so cute, stuffing his hands into his pockets while rocking back and forth with his head down, asking if you'd like to go out for some coffee later ♡
JINSIK ☆
He knows hes handsome but youre like.. so pretty. Youre asking him to dance?
Is just really taken aback because, did i mention how pretty you were to him??
Makes lots of eye contact and is a little firty, hyping himself on the inside to make a move (KOREAN KOREAN BREAK THAT WALL-)
you cant even so the challenge right because youre too busy giggling, acting as if youve known each other your whole life
And because of that experience, you look forward to talking to him more ♡
HYUNWOO ☆
Thinks he could work on his dancing, but hes so happy you choice him out of all the members
A really good sport, some light teasings if you do something wrong and he'd flash a sheepish smile if he does the same
Hes pretty.. oblivious
Like you're clearly hitting on him, but he just thinks youre being nice
And it isnt until the members have to slap some sense into the poor boy ♡
JUNGHOON ☆
Honestly just blanks out
Like the challenge is done in a flash and hes like "wait, wait.. we did it wrong, lets try again."
And askes to do it again because "his expressions didnt look quite right"
Basically, hes just trying to buy more time with you
Even if the dance is perfect, he wants to do it again. For a friend of course :) ♡
SEEUN ☆
You were already well known friends, so it made sense that you did a challenge together
The fans always shipped you two together, and you were starting to notice seeun getting flirter and flirter
From sending you little glances, to getting on his knees and "proposing" to you
Your members always said that he liked you, but you always ignored it
Until seeun gave you a hug, that lasted a little longer than usual ♡
YUJUN ☆
"H-hi," he bows, acting so formal around you that you have to say youre fine with acting informal
So shy when you mention youre the same age, that you see him as a friend
The challenge is honestly super awkward, only because he doesnt want to embarrass himself
But when hes watching it later, hes so giggly
The members for sure tease him whenever youre around ♡
HUNTER ☆
hes all cool, calm, and collected when you ask if you could do a challenge together, but is screaming on the inside
Helps you with the positions which means he has to touch you in some type of of, he has a polite smile on his face but his burning ears is giving him away
Finds you so cute when you do the challenge, melting when you make a heart at the end
But all of that stops when hyunwoo walks by. "Oh my god, that was so good, wait- you know hunter talks about you a lot actually-"
Hunter makes the loudest chuckle to cover up the boys words, while pushing him away with a forced smile on his face ♡
YECHAN ☆
Theres a part where the two of you have to look at each other, and yechan cant stop laughing
Just one look into your eyes and hes a goner, his face red and hes almost out of breath from laughing
You almost take offense but seeun tells you hes usually like around the one he likes
Wait he likes-
The challenge is done in a flash, and yechan stutters about how much fun he just had ♡
