You look at your boyfriend who is busy listening to samples and choosing new music for a song in Xikers’s upcoming album. You feel proud of him and impressed at the same time, loving the reactions he gives when he feels he has the right choice.

You sit quietly, turning in your chair slowly when you feel Minjae’s phone vibrate against the table and you pick it up. As soon as you notice the call from Hongjoong you tap him on his shoulder and hand him the phone. Minjae jumps at your touch making you roll your eyes as he talks to his senior.

“I am screwed,” are the first words you hear from him as he cuts the phone, you stare at him in confusion and ask, “What is going on?”

“Hongjoong hyung with Edenary are coming to check my samples,” he clutches his head as a groan rolls out from the back of his throat and he slams his head onto the table. “Min what the hell are you doing?” you gasp pulling him up by his shoulder as he lets out an exaggerated cry and falls into your arms.

You stare at him in shock before calming down and say, “Dude, these pieces are literally so good, I love them and I am sure they will too because you are talented baby.” Minjae lets out a dramatic gasp at your sentence saying, “Dude? Is your boyfriend ��dude’ now? Great! My seniors are coming to check up on me, and instead of showering me with love you are calling me dude, how could yo-“

You don’t let him finish his sentence as you pull him by his shirt collar and kiss him willing to shut his ramble up. Your noses bump into each other and Minjae’s eyes widen for a millisecond before he kisses you back with fervour. His fingers trace down your nape and a breathy sigh intertwines your kiss as you enjoy the sweet taste of him.

You break off first, breathing heavily, as Minjae’s lips glisten in the low light of the studio and you lick your lips lightly. A light cough interrupts you two as Minjae’s eyes widen making you quickly let go of him and Hongjoong grins before saying, “Should I come back later?”

You walk into the practice room where Junmin is going over his parts in “Die for You” for their upcoming concert. You sit down quietly watching him practice the dance in awe.

The perks of having a main dancer boyfriend are watching his smooth and clear moves and getting to learn them well. The cons of having him is restraining yourself from doing all the things in your head when he looks terribly hot after practice.  Beads of sweat drop down his defined collarbones and your eyes travel with it, shamelessly checking him out to add to your imagination unknowingly Junmin picks up his shirt from the waist and wipes his sweat giving you a dangerous glance at his defined abs.

You were so lost in your own ministrations you don’t hear Junmin calling your name and blink abruptly when you see him stand in front of you, slight concern in his eyes as he looks into yours and before you can second guess yourself you are pulling him by his shirt collar and kissing him.

Junmin’s eyes widen to an unbelievable extent as he stills from the contact of your lips and his brain short-circuits. Your conscience kicks back instantly and you don’t even finish the kiss as you let go of his collar coughing lightly. Your face feels hot as your eyes are fixated on his collar and Junmin stares down with a red face.

“I- wow, I,” his blabbers fall to your heated face as you two stare at each other with wide eyes and he licks his lips lightly remembering your confidence and bashfully loving it inside.

For a second you two just stare at each other flustered equally and suddenly Junmin is cupping your cheek and kissing you. It is so sweet and so him, it makes you melt into it as his hand rests on the small of your back. As soon as you two break it returns to shy giggles and heated faces as Junmin looks everywhere but your eyes.

Sumin yells at you as he splashes the water in your direction making you flinch in shock. “Choi Sumin,” you shout at him and run through the wet sand towards him. A gummy smile lights up his face as he laughs and jumps in the water before going deeper into the sea. You giggle again as you throw a small amount of water at him.

Even though it does no justice to the amount he has drenched you earlier with his light playful scream makes your day. You walk deeper into the sea, towards him and the water slowly rises. Sumin’s eyes sparkle as he picks up something and walks towards you adorably and clumsily.

Wrapping an arm around your waist he somehow tugs your back to his chest and puts his head on your shoulder pressing a light kiss on it. He opens his hand saying, “For you, my love.” You giggle feeling shy and fiddle with the shell on his palm unable to make eye contact.

“Look at me,” he whispers breathily in your ear making you whine and lightly kick him at his teasing instincts. “Pretty,” you whisper softly and he smiles cheekily adding, “Like you.”

“Cliché,” you snort and he retorts, “Whipped.”

You look at him in shock and wide eyes before scoffing and saying, “I am not the whipped one here.” “You’re not?” a rhetorical question leaves his mouth as he slowly traces his finger down your jaw, angles your face towards his and raises an eyebrow challenging you. You try to move your face making him tease you more and finally your restraint snaps.

Pulling him by the collar you crash your lips to his, lips moving along each other with fervour and haze. Your lips part for a while for a short breath and his hands are cupping your jawline pressing your lips to his again. The sun hits your skin in a golden hue and the water creates a cool backdrop among the heat of the kiss.

You rake your fingers through his damp hair, parting a few strands again as the air feels like sweet love around silence. Pressing your lips together multiple times, your noses bump a few times making you giggle and laugh at the weird situation. The kiss is messy yet perfect at the same time before you two part for good.

“Cliché,” he snorts this time and you retort, “Whipped.”

੭ㅤ𝅄ㅤ ꒰ HAM JINSIK ꒱

“Do you believe in love at first sight or should I walk by again?” you roll your eyes as you can almost hear the grin in your boyfriend’s voice as he stands behind you. Pursing your lips you tilt your head and turn around asking, “Why?”

“Can’t a guy just simply love his partner?” Jinsik smiles, his grin widening innocently making you shake your head. You are here, standing in a sunny parking lot, sweating and waiting for Sumin to pick you two up and Jinsik’s idea of brightening the situation is apparently saying cheesy pick-up lines.

“Are you a parking ticket? ‘Cus you have got fine written all over you,” he winks as a weird sound leaves your throat sounding between a half-gasp and a half-groan making his smile widen more.

“Please Jinsik, I love you but shut up,” you say, pressing your head lightly against his arms but you know you are just talking to a wall when you hear the next sentence roll off his tongue again, “If I could rearrange the alphabet I would put U and I toge-“

Before he can eat your mind with another worst pickup line ever, and any more that are coming after, you turn your head, grab his collar and press your lips to his. Jinsik's eyes widen in disbelief as he stumbles from your grip and your conscience returns almost as soon as you do it making you abruptly leave.

“What- How,” he gasps as you look away, biting your lips, sinking in the aftertaste of whatever you did right now while his brain still processes what just happened. “Your stupid cheesy lines are stupid,” you babble, not being able to maintain eye contact as he blinks and slowly gains back his composure.

“Are they now?” he hums, his hand slowly sneaking around your waist and tightening as you try to let go. “Jinsik, we are in the public,” you whisper frantically but god knows what this boy has been eating as his grip grows tighter and a teasing grin etches his face.

“Yeah, but you conveniently forgot that when you pulled me by the collar and kissed me,” the mischief behind those innocent eyes makes you smack him lightly as he giggles and hugs you. Your whines die quickly as you wrap an arm around him feeling him press light kisses to your head and bask in his scent that is so him, well at least before you groan and hit your head against his chest again.

“Do you have another heart? Because mine just got stolen!”

Hyunwoo and you walk by the river quietly in the dead of the night. If your parents or his hyungs knew you two would not live another day. But that’s the thrill of it! The wind ruffles his hair lightly as you look at him and giggle making him smile with his pretty little eyes.

When he reaches your door and you two stand not wanting to let go of each other. It feels stupid almost and lovesick at how you two keep trying to prove yourselves as friends. “Good night,” he says softly and you whisper it back swinging your hands with his. “Same time tomorrow?” you giggle and he sighs knowing he can never say no to you.

The next day you wake up to the familiar knock in your windows and Hyunwoo’s face appears as you roll it up. He grins and you smirk back before letting him enter. “Practice ended late,” he says as he enters and keeps on talking about how Jinsik and he had to do a choreography all while hanging half-way from the window.

Your eyes widen in panic as he keeps talking and you decide to do the last thing on your mind. You pull him by the collar, even though it’s a bit hard and pull him inside your room. Hyunwoo stumbles from the sudden pressure toppling over the sill and falls over you and finally, his mouth shuts up as he stares down at your flustered face.

“Did not think you would do that,” he whispers and your eyes widen as you stutter out, “No other option, you talk a lot.” Your words come out a lot breathier than you want them to and he nods smirking, “Sure.” “I hate you,” you murmur out when his teasing words keep spilling from his mouth and you can’t take it anymore and something comes over you as you pull him into a kiss.

For the second time that night, Hyunwoo is silenced and flushed as he falls into the lips he has dreamed of so much. The kiss is soft, the low lights in the room being your only witness and it’s secure like a bond you two have shared for so long. When you part Hyunwoo’s flush reaches to his ears and warmth creeps down your neck as he says, “Didn’t think you would do that either.”

You and Yujun had been dating for a little while now—just a few months, but long enough for you to feel comfortable around him. It was a quiet Saturday evening, and you had both agreed to study together for an upcoming exam. The thought of spending time with him made the stress of the exam feel lighter somehow.

When you arrived at his dorm, you immediately noticed how cold it was. You hadn’t expected it to be this chilly—it was still early fall, and you had dressed in a light sweater and leggings, thinking it would be enough. But as soon as you sat down at his desk, flipping open your notebook, you felt a shiver run down your spine.

Yujun glanced up from his own notes, his eyebrows furrowing in concern. "Are you cold?" he asked, his voice gentle. You could hear the worry creeping in as he leaned a little closer, his dark eyes scanning your face.

You tried to play it off, rubbing your arms and giving him a small smile. "A little, but it's fine," you said, not wanting to make a fuss.

But Yujun wasn’t having it. He stood up from his chair, rummaging through his closet for a moment before pulling out a sweatshirt—one of his favorites, you noticed. It was a soft, oversized gray hoodie, the one he usually wore when he was relaxing in his dorm.

“Here,” he said, his voice warm and insistent as he handed it to you. “You’ll freeze if you don’t wear this.”

You hesitated for a second, taking the hoodie from him. It was big, much bigger than anything you usually wore, but it was also warm and it smelled like him—like a mixture of fresh laundry and the subtle hint of cologne that was distinctly Yujun.

“Thanks,” you murmured, pulling it over your head. The fabric immediately engulfed you, the sleeves hanging well past your wrists, the hem almost reaching your thighs. You couldn’t help but laugh a little at how oversized it was on you.

Yujun watched as you adjusted the hoodie, his mouth slightly open like he was about to say something. But then he didn’t. His eyes lingered on you for a moment, longer than usual, and you noticed how his expression softened. His breath hitched audibly, and you saw his chest rise and fall, like he was struggling to catch it.

You blinked, confused. “What?” you asked, tilting your head. “Do I look ridiculous or something?”

“No, no,” Yujun said quickly, shaking his head. His voice was a little breathless, almost like he had just run a mile. “You just… you look really cute.” His words tumbled out before he could stop them, and you saw a blush creep up his cheeks, faint but undeniable.

You felt your own face heat up at his compliment, your heart doing an involuntary flip. “It’s just a hoodie,” you replied, trying to downplay the way his words made your stomach flutter. But inside, you were thrilled.

Yujun didn’t move at first, his gaze still locked on you like he was mesmerized. Then, all of a sudden, something changed in his expression. His eyes sparkled with an intensity that caught you off guard, and before you could react, he lunged toward you with a playful grin.

“Yujun, what are you—” you barely had time to finish your sentence before he tackled you onto his bed, his arms wrapping around you as you fell backward onto the soft mattress. You let out a surprised yelp, the two of you landing in a heap of laughter.

He hovered over you for a second, his face inches from yours, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “I wasn’t expecting you to look that adorable in my clothes,” he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper. You could feel the warmth of his breath against your skin, and your heart was pounding in your chest.

Before you could respond, Yujun leaned down and pressed a kiss to your forehead, gentle and sweet. Then, he kissed your nose, then your cheek, and then another on your temple. Each kiss was light and soft, and you couldn’t help but giggle as he peppered your face with them, his lips trailing down to your jawline, then back up to your forehead again.

“Yujun,” you laughed, squirming under him as his kisses became more playful. “What are you doing?”

“I can’t help it,” he murmured between kisses, his voice warm and teasing. “You look too cute in my hoodie. It’s driving me crazy.”

Your laughter filled the small room, and you tried to push him away, but his arms were still wrapped around you, keeping you firmly in place. “Okay, okay! Enough!” you giggled, trying to catch your breath as he finally paused his attack of kisses.

He leaned back slightly, resting his forehead against yours, both of you panting softly from the laughter. For a moment, the playful energy between you shifted into something softer, more tender. His eyes met yours, and you could see the affection there, clear as day.

“You’re really something, you know that?” he said quietly, his voice filled with warmth. His hand came up to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear, his thumb brushing against your cheek.

You felt your heart swell at his words, and for a moment, the coldness in the room didn’t matter. The only thing you could feel was his warmth, his presence next to you, and the quiet beating of his heart that seemed to match yours.

“Thanks for the sweatshirt,” you whispered, smiling up at him.

“Anytime,” Yujun replied, his lips curving into a soft smile. He leaned down, pressing one last, gentle kiss to your lips before pulling away, leaving your skin tingling from his touch.

For the rest of the night, neither of you studied much, but you didn’t mind. You were wrapped up in Yujun’s hoodie, his scent surrounding you, and every now and then, he’d sneak another kiss as if he couldn’t resist.

It turned out to be one of the best study sessions you’d ever had

Xikers Full Storyline Explained - Part 3

BREATHE

Opening note: Regarding chronology, everything is slowly getting a teensy bit convoluted so stay with me for a second. This MV takes place after Witch (where they were first roped in by TRICKY) and shortly before Bittersweet (where they used their powers on a TRICKY-assigned mission for the first time). In this video, we get to see Xikers get possessed by the dokkaebi , which means they're receiving their powers as well. In a way, it thus also takes place during Rockstar as that MV provided a broad overview of this entire timespan - from first getting chosen to receiving their powers.

We start out with Hunter in a phone booth on which a green sign has been taped, which reads: "Breathe, breathe, breathe / You need to breathe, breathe"

It's a section from the chorus as we'll hear later.

The line is dead as Hunter hangs up and exits, though he barely manages a few steps into the neon-lit alley before the sound blurs as a new presence appears behind him.

Someone's there, resting his arm on Hunter's back. It's Minjae and his eyes are abnormally light - he's currently possessed by a dokkaebi.

The brief contact seemingly leaves a sensation in Hunter's chest, though he doesn't seem to pick up on what happened. He touches his torso, looks down at himself, the alley around him now empty.

Minjae already disappeared.

We get a close up on Hunter as his expression shifts, growing emotionless before the screen glitches to show us images of masked faces. It's clear: he's now possessed too.

Side note: This seems to prove my prior theory that some of the members didn't wholly choose this path but were rather recruited by the others. TRICKY clearly picked the ten of them specifically as avatars in Rockstar, but they weren't all immediately possessed - there was an order to it.

The instrumental opening of the song kicks in as Hunter begins playing around with his newfound powers, conjuring up smoke and blue fire before he randomly dunks his head into a fish-less, yet water filled fish tank in the alley.

We cut to Junmin in an ambulance where we briefly take on the POV of one of his patients, only to quickly find out this is no regular ambulance.

Alongside him, Hunter and Seeun are working on stabilizing Jinsik and Yujun who seem to be dealing with respiratory failure of some kind - potentially a side-effect of getting possessed.

Though, as we know, once possessed, the value of a human life seems to be less meaningful to them, so these wannabe doctors are goofing around with musical instruments instead of making actual full attempts at resuscitation.

But don't worry, they'll all be fine - and perhaps they were just playing all along anyway.

After panning up and tearing through a hot air balloon with Minjae's face on it, we join the real Minjae in yet another alleyway where he, too, seems to now become fully aware of his newfound powers (which means this happened before we saw him with Hunter in the alley in the opening sequence).

Blue lightning now crackles around his hands, and in typical Xikers fashion, he immediately starts using it to make his dancing look cooler as he swaggers down the alley, letting the lightning flow along his body down to his feet where it spreads across the pavement.

As he heads onward, he begins zapping his surroundings with lightning, including this mannequin in a shop window which has a rib cage inside?? (That's either mad attention to detail by the manufacturer or someone hid the torso of a corpse in there - someone should check on that.)

We switch to Seeun who's dragging a 10kg hammer down yet another alley, leaving behind a glowing crack in the asphalt.

I'm starting to feel for the mayor of this city who'll have to deal with all the property damage complaints the next day.

Meanwhile, Hunter has figured out how to use his smoke-based powers to fly.

Cut to Hyunwoo in a mannequin storage room.

The line "Even in the dark, clear aim at you - sniping" is sung as we see him in someone's crosshair - perhaps another Namoo/government drone like the one Sumin smashed in Bittersweet to overcome his fear.

Hyunwoo hurries to the back of the room to hide, only to get even more green lasers aimed at his heart and lungs - there's no hiding.

Meanwhile, in another area of the room, Junghoon and Yujun keep trading places seamlessly as they rap in front of a full-body mirror.

"Yeah, can't figure it out? Feeling breathless? Feeling frustrated? But what can you do?" - these lyrics seem to be a hint toward TRICKY's state of mind and the way it lured the members into accepting its offer in HOUSE OF TRICKY #1.

Y'know, the way it reinforced their self-doubts and sense of abandonment at the hands of their peers, the way it kept affirming that, yes, they are different and they don't belong into this world.

Here we can see that strategy translate through the words of the dokkaebi.

This interpretation takes on even more validity in the next scene in which we see a being with Hunter's face looming like a giant over the alleyway from which the real Hunter, currently unpossessed, looks up with fear in his eyes.

This behavior, this intimidation tactic, has previously only been expressed by TRICKY itself in its own realm. It loves to make itself huge so it can feel powerful and like a puppeteer.

What this tells me is that the dokkaebi spirits aren't self-driven - they're being entirely controlled by TRICKY, they're like an extension of it, and once possessed, TRICKY can control Xikers themselves just as easily.

This is what TRICKY meant all along when it spoke of them like game pieces.

During the chorus, we see Xikers in front of what I can only describe as a huge hot-rod engine-looking thing with a bunch of curved exhaust pipes rising up and pointing toward the camera.

Throughout, we also occasionally cut upwards, first to Junghoon then Junmin, both swinging by on a wrecking ball (standing up, mind you, not Miley Cyrus style).

We then move on to Sumin's rap verse during which the lighting shifts to green and the members are replaced with gas masks on poles as the room slowly begins filling with smoke.

Next up is Yechan's rap verse during which he begins climbing through the same miniature city we first saw Sumin in a moment ago.

He raps about feeling possessed, going crazy 24/7 and how he's been running till his shoes fell off before he says something that stuck with me: "Someone stop me, this is chaos / If I keep going like this, I'll faint".

It seems he's starting to pick up on the true dangers of accepting TRICKY's offer, and on how little the dokkaebi care about the health of the bodies they're in.

And as he's saying all this, we briefly see him in yet another alley where he receives his fire powers which he later uses to burn down the miniature city, signifying the destructive power of the dokkaebi once again.

During Jinsik's part in the next chorus, we see him in an alley with a translucent blue wall reminiscent of entering a new zone in a video game.

His image shatters on the screen before the camera takes us through a tunnel of criss-crossing blood vessels and back to the "engine" room where the choreography sequence continues.

I personally believe this tells us that Junmin was the first one possessed by the dokkaebi and, by willingly crossing through the barrier, Jinsik became the second and it all spiralled from there.

After this, we get a cute shot of the youngest members (minus Yujun) eating ice cream before Junghoon transitions us to the final segment of the song.

Our final shot is of all ten members in the alley surrounded by slightly pixelated blue flames - 10 avatars acquired - reality has now blended with the world of video games, just like TRICKY has been longing for all along.
