Compared to Screamer, the spymaster and mini were downright spindly at very odd angles.

Knockout had to get down onto his knee joints because old silent and spooky refused to let go of his cassette. Not the worst thing he had to do in order to treat a patient arguably. Light from his optics revealed each and every transformation seam on the poor minibird. He had clean the minuscule seams on equally compact frame plating to even gain access to Laserbeak’s internals. All the while Soundwave tracked his every movement above.

“I can’t imagine how bad your own internals are when little bird’s are this clogged up. Not that I blame either of you for getting into such a state.” The mostly red medic assured, soothing the almost roiling offense Soundwave’s posture had begun to show. “Terrorcons are rather relentless when it comes chasing, no?”

“You-can’t-imagine-how-bad-Terrorcons-relentless-chasing—“

“Actually, I can, been there done that. Nearly got turned into one.” Knockout interrupted the spymaster’s audio clipping, servos slowly clawing into the medical berth. It took a few moments of venting and exventing to stamp down on the flash of anger. “I apologize if my resignation from a leadership that nearly off-lined my conjunx is so insulting to you!”

He went back to thoroughly cleaning up the still unconscious Laserbeak, pointedly ignoring the sounds of the spymaster’s processors whirling. The former Decepticon medic carefully went over each transformation seam slowly correcting the slightly bench connections. Poor thing must have been aching something fierce flying around in such a state. Knockout very firmly ignored the way Soundwave’s attention irked over his frame plating.

“You-nearly-offlined?”

He simply nodded, not wanting to give the spymaster any more verbal ammunition to twist.

“…Can’t-blame-you-for-hate-Terrorcons.”

Knockout was whipping down the tools used to repair the more compact Laserbeak. All in all? It had taken the former Decepticon only an hour to undo what few injuries accumulated.

Soundwave dimly noted that the medic made no move to begin repairing him.

“Knockout!” The clip unfortunately involved replaying one of Megatron’s louder moments. Inwardly, the spymaster winced when one of the rotary blades suddenly formed. Knockout at least had the decency to shape it back into a servo.

“Don’t. Please don’t use to his voice to get my attention—Knockout. I don’t mind hearing my own voice.” He muttered, red optics dim as he parroted his own name for Soundwave to use.

“Knockout.” The spymaster used in said mech’s own voice, giving a brief nod of his helm. “Helped-little-bird. Not-help-me?”

“The little boss considers you an adequate enough risk to not be eager to get you back to one hundred percent, Soundwave. They’re far less ruthless than the old Decepticon prisoner routines.” The medic explained, though rushed to correct himself. “You’re a guest right now. I think… War’s over so you technically can’t be a prisoner of war.”

Soundwave stilled at the last sentence.

“Waaaaaaaar’s over?”

The audio clip distorted due to his own confusion clouding his processor.

“…Right, you’ve been in that pesky Shadowzone for all this time. The war ended when Cybertron was restored—yeah, Home’s pretty flourishing these days even if the nitty gritty is still in flux.”

Soundwave definitely is gonna need time to process that. There's no way to garner any updates if you're stuck in a hostile isolated environment like the Shadowzone.
