listened to the in our times episode about robert burns, and weirdly enough, the most memorable line was '...perhaps if wordsworth hadn't gone to cambridge, he'd have written in cumbrian dialect. conversely, attending university might've ruined robert burns.' and now i can't stop imagining the alternative reality where wordsworth had preserved rural cumbrian dialect by writing his poetry in it. my hearts weeps.

#cumbrian dialect is very close to lancashire dialect in places so i hold it very dear #i just donated a little money to a local publisher who were crowdfunding to publish an edition of a 19th century miner's poetry #using local dialect from my village.#i'm desperate to read it. i'm desperate for the dregs of what holds me to the land.#i'm terrified of being americanised or internetised or londonised or home-counties-ised

Aypierre really did make save soulfire’s asses with that exp farm didnt he. holy shit. they have so much good gear now. everyone else is gonna be so low on resources after the egg war, without a quick way to replenish them, and here soulfire is. fully enchanted with mending and 32 diamonds in three minutes

I think I figured out what engine I want to use for my next game!

(I just did one of the "make your first game" tutorials in godot & wow it's so much easier to wrap my head around than unity)

#now time to start figuring out assets and properly designing my maps #i'm making a farm game focused on community building instead of infinite growth #basically it's a post-apocalyptic setting & you convince ppl travelling between two other settlements to join your community #so there's 10-12 lots & roughly twice as many possible villagers #& some need to be in certain spots (eg: the miner & stonemason both need to be on the cliffs. hunter & woodcutter need forested lots)#the more community members there are the less resources you need to produce yourself #money only really exists to make trading between communities more efficient #so it's not just a 'number goes up' game

ive played a bit of back to nature, maybe like the first two seasons?

ive played harvest moon ds for about 4 ingame years on top of two previous save files where i was only about 2 or so years in, so that ones my most played

friends of mineral town ive gotten married to ran like 3 times and popuri maybe once, but ive only played to year 2 and didnt even have a kid BUT in the remake i married ran and then made a second file where i was romancing kai, popuri, gray, cliff, and won (was planning to splinter that into different files where i marry each one) and then i kinda realized that i preferred the old game a bit more

awl remake... i made it to winter of the 1st year and ran out of steam... ive been meaning to play that one again
