I had to update my beta minecraft world to 1.0 because endermen kept taking my buildings and trees apart but it feels so wrong to have updated a beta world to a standard version
#random stuff#I also ran out of practical things to do again#I mean that's why I updated from beta 1.7.3 to 1.8.1#but it feels weirdly similar to regular minecraft now#it's starting to get into standard features that didn't used to work as well#like uh. xp being hard to get and enchanting being a pain#most of the stuff in this version is related to combat. with the nether fortresses and the end and all#and I was enjoying being able to avoid combat for the most part honestly#I definitely appreciate the beta 1.8 features of being able to run and bows being fixed. those made the game a lot easier#but now it's like 'oh boy time to go to the nether and the end' boooo

"I'm mining for iron, collecting more iron is my goal!" I lie, knowing that the truth is clear: I chose stone bricks for this really tall build without considering just how much cobblestone that requires by default
#minecraft#building a stone brick tower to get in and out of the nether fortress in a safer manner compared to other methods#each floor is 3 blocks tall not including the roof of the floor#so an 8x8x3 interior on each floor#the tower's only 3 floors tall and I'm almost out of stone bricks entirely#and I'm nowhere near the level of the nether fortress#while also being close enough that blazes are able to float down and shoot at me if they want to#(and boy do they want to at that)#I mean at least wither skeletons aren't falling into the tower mid-construction but the situation could still be better

#joe moment#minecraft#OK small update#me and klai got to the end and killed the ender dragon over a week ago#so yippee. although the dragon ate my old armour early battle </3 lucky Ive been saving a bunch of netherite#and I did end up finding a nether fortress. very tempted to summon a wither...#grinding achievements has been fun#I've gathered my materials for a new home#though I currently have no idea where to build it.#I managed to find an end city#create an exp farm#and just finished making a creeper farm today#as u can see#a lot of chaos has been going on in my time playing solo#since im the only one who goes on the server quite often#hopefully I can find an ocean monument... or a trial chamber#im doing everything but build my house atm LOL#ALSO im not floating in this pic. I avoided making a smoker or blast furnace in minecraft for a long time bc I was very stubbornly clinging to my "back in MY day we used a furnace for everything and we liked it" ideals, but I made both of those in my survival world yesterday just to try them out and like. Damn I wish I'd done that sooner the updates weren't lyin those things are efficient as hell

Similar to how the Minecraft cave spider is slightly smaller than the average spider model, I think glow squids should have a smaller model than the normal squid
#Which makes sense too since a lot of bioluminescent squids are smaller than your traditional/more common squid#and I just think it would be a fun little detail#like the squid having a smaller size would change absolutely none of its mechanics it’s purely aesthetic#like there are so many non-functional that were originally in Minecraft#that I find it funny when Mojang tries to claim they couldn’t add something because it wasn’t practical or realistic#cough cough fireflies cough like dude you made ocelots completely obsolete when making cats a different animal#my beef with Mojang is simple: they haven’t been updating the game they have been revamping and re-branding it#nether update? no fuck no! they added a lot of new Contant but they did not improve upon any pre-existing elements#but what about the zombie Pigman weren’t they updated? no they were replaced by something inspired by them#with a zombie version to calm the crowd.#because if they’re their own species now with their own spawning structures then who the fuck do the nether fortress is belong to!?#The nether update added a lot of things that were inspired off of pre-existing things in the nether but none of them are direct improvements#for example the nether wart forest would you are unable to get nether wart from#The new soul sand valley is interesting but I wish your soul Sand actually looked like it had souls in it like the classic stuff#and I think the new sand could be improved upon if you made it look like there were hands of the souls#because I always thought you walked slowly on soul Sand because the souls were trying to drag you down with them✨#it’s funny how much Minecraft is treated like a Game for all ages because when you really look at it I think it’s actually quite dark#but take what I say with a pinch of salt because I’m just rambling and this post was originally about squids#glow squid#minecraft glow squid#bioluminescent squid#bioluminescent#Minecraft#squid#Minecraft squid#bioluminescence#caves and cliffs#minecraft nether
