Between Mindf*ck, Quicksilver, ACOTAR, Haunting Adeline and more I'm sure there's something truly terrifying about the book community, who let's face it with these books are mostly women, blatantly ignoring, forgetting about or even romanticizing r*pe or r*pe-y love interests

“Romantics always believe in revenge, because romantics love harder, suffer loss more painfully, and hold onto a grudge that has shattered their hearts. Their hearts are of the greatest importance, above all else—body, soul, or mind.”

i kiss her like it might be the last time. it's the way i'll always kiss her, because she's lost love once — the love of her parents. i never want any lingering insecurities to dwell in her about us.

He’s so pure. So good. So honest and genuine. So gentle and kind. It’s all those qualities that made me fall in love, because he was everything—everything!—I’d always wanted in someone. And he loved me. Yet, I wanted to taint the very things about him that made me fall in love, just so I could selfishly take him to the dark with me and keep him. It was wrong.

people do not talk, or put out warnings more like, enough about book 4 of the mindf*ck series
you're telling me I read this whole series about a woman getting revenge on the men who r*ped her and killed her brother just for her to end up with a guy who also r*pes her
idc how much he supports her murderous revenge (after having a hissy fit about it), that scene was out of character and out of absolutely nowhere, it was violent and so unnecessary. It's beyond fucked up that it's totally glossed over in a series that mostly women are reading for female empowerment and for victims to live vicariously through Lana. What a slap in the face to have her end up with another r*pist scumbag
I thought I had finally found a decent dark romance but no
